1水牛化疗控制鄱阳湖地区血吸虫病传播的现场实验研究显示文摘目的探索水牛治疗是否在湖沼地区血吸虫病传播中的作用,为制定防治策略提供依据.方法将江西省鄱阳湖区2个血吸虫病重度流行村,分为实验(干预)组及对照组.实验组用吡喹酮治疗所有耕牛,以消灭可能血吸虫传染源;对照组,不治疗耕牛.两村居民按常规方法进行血吸虫病防治.结果连续5年观察结果表明,实验组居民感染率比对照组下降70%;3岁以下水牛感染率为2%~18%,3岁以上水牛感染率为0~2.9%.结论通过干预和对照组的研究表明,在血吸虫重度感染区,单纯对居民进行化疗是难以有效地控制血吸虫病的传播的,而通过化疗水牛在一定程度上能降低居民的再感染.本研究通过5年的观察,证实了对水牛进行治疗对控制血吸虫病的传播的效果可达70%,同时也证实了在感染的水牛中的大部分(89%)是小于3岁的水牛,这对我们今后制定有效的控制湖沼地区的血吸虫病对策提供了依据.郭家钢 宁安 胡广汉 陈红根 党辉 朱蓉 Gail Williams 李岳生 冯正 DonMc Manus 2005中国人兽共患病杂志2005,21,10:23

7Neuroimaging the brain-gut axis in patients with irritable bowel syndrome显示文摘AIM:To summarize and synthesize current literature on neuroimaging the brain-gut axis in patients with irritable bowel syndrome(IBS).METHODS:A database search for relevant literature was conducted using Pub Med,Scopus and Embase in February 2015.Date filters were applied from the year2009 and onward,and studies were limited to those written in the English language and those performed upon human subjects.The initial search yielded 797articles,out of which 38 were pulled for full text review and 27 were included for study analysis.Investigations were reviewed to determine study design,methodology and results,and data points were placed in tabular format to facilitate analysis of study findings across disparate investigations.RESULTS:Analysis of study data resulted in the abstraction of four key themes:Neurohormonal differences,anatomic measurements of brain structure and connectivity,differences in functional responsiveness of the brain during rectal distention,and confounding/correlating patient factors.Studies in this review noted alterations of glutamate in the left hippocampus(HIPP),commonalities across IBS subjects in terms of brain oscillation patterns,cortical thickness/gray matter volume differences,and neuroanatomical regions withincreased activation in patients with IBS:Anterio cingulate cortex,mid cingulate cortex,amygdala anterior insula,posterior insula and prefrontal cortex.A striking finding among interventions was the substantia influence that patient variables(e.g.,sex,psychologica and disease related factors)had upon the identification of neuroanatomical differences in structure and con nectivity.CONCLUSION:The field of neuroimaging can provide insight into underlying physiological differences that distinguish patients with IBS from a healthy population.Kristen R Weaver Lee Anne B Sherwin Brian Walitt Gail D'Eramo Melkus Wendy A Henderson 2016World Journal of Gastrointestinal Pharmacology and Therapeutics2016,7,2:8
8Real-time PCR diagnosis of Schistosoma japonicum in low transmission areas of China显示文摘Background:Schistosomiasis in the People’s Republic of China(PRC)can be traced back to antiquity.In the past 60 years,the Chinese government has made great efforts to control this persistent disease with elimination slated by 2020 through the implementation of a comprehensive control strategy.This strategy aims to reduce the role of bovines and humans as sources of infection as a pre-requisite for elimination through transmission interruption.The goal of elimination will be achievable only by the implementation of a sustainable surveillance and control system,with sensitive diagnosis a key feature so that the true disease burden is not underestimated.Currently used diagnostics lack the necessary sensitivity to accurately determine the prevalence of Schistosoma japonicum infection in areas with low infection intensities.It is of critical importance to find and treat people and to identify animals with low-level infections if the National Control Programme for China is to achieve schistosomiasis elimination.Methods:We evaluated a real-time polymerase chain reaction(qPCR)assay using 633 human stool samples collected from five villages in Hunan,Anhui,Hubei,and Jiangxi provinces,and 182 bovine(70 cattle and 112 buffalo)stool samples obtained from four villages in Hunan,Anhui,and Jiangxi provinces in the PRC.All stool samples were subjected to the miracidium hatching test(MHT,a diagnostic procedure used in the National Schistosomiasis Control Programme)and the qPCR assay.Samples positive by MHT were subjected to either the Kato-Katz technique for humans,or the formalin-ethyl acetate sedimentation-digestion(FEA-SD)procedure for bovines,to determine infection intensities.Results:The qPCR assay exhibited a high level of sensitivity in the detection of S.japonicum infections.With both the human and bovine samples,a significantly higher prevalence was determined using the qPCR assay(11.06%humans,24.73%bovines)than with the MHT(0.93%humans,7.69%bovines).The animal contamination index(calculated using data obtained with the qPCR technique)for all positive bovines was 27618000 eggs per day,indicating a considerable amount of environmental egg contamination that would be underestimated using less sensitive diagnostic procedures.Conclusions:The qPCR assay we have evaluated will be applicable as a future field diagnostic and surveillance tool in low-transmission zones where schistosomiasis elimination is targeted and for monitoring post-intervention areas to verify that elimination has been maintained.Pei He Catherine A.Gordon Gail M.Williams Yuesheng Li Yuanyuan Wang Junjian Hu Darren J.Gray Allen G.Ross Donald Harn Donald P.McManus 2018Infectious Diseases of Poverty2018,7,1:7

10A hidden fault prediction model based on the belief rule base with power set and considering attribute reliability显示文摘Hidden faults are important characteristics of complex systems that cannot be observed directly.The hidden behavior of a system, such as the health state and safety level, has a direct correlation with these hidden faults. After the predicted hidden behavior reaches a fault boundary, certain measures must be taken to avoid fault occurrences. Thus, hidden faults can be predicted by the hidden behavior of a system.The belief rule base(BRB) has been used to predict hidden behaviors. However, two problems remain to be solved in engineering practice. First, when the observed information is absent, ignorance may exist in the output. If only global ignorance is considered, it may be unreasonable in certain cases, which can influence the prediction model. Second, the effects of disturbance factors such as noise and sensor quality may cause the reliability of the gathered information to decline, which indirectly leads to unreliability of the hidden behavior. Thus, to address the global ignorance and unreliable hidden behavior, a new hidden BRB model with a power set and considering attribute reliability(PHBRB-r) is proposed for hidden fault prediction. In the PHBRB-r model, the effects of disturbance factors on hidden behavior are considered using attribute reliability, and the discernment frame is a power set. 13Differences in atheroma between Caucasian and Asian subjects with anterior stroke:A vessel wall MRI study显示文摘Background and purpose While extracranial carotid artery stenosis is more common among Caucasians and intracranial artery stenosis is more common among Asians,the differences in atherosclerotic plaque characteristics have not yet been extensively examined.We sought to investigate plaque location and characteristics within extracranial carotid and intracranial arteries in symptomatic Caucasians and Chinese using vessel wall MRI.Methods Subjects with recent anterior circulation ischaemic stroke were recruited and imaged at two sites in the USA and China using similar protocols.Both extracranial carotid and intracranial arteries were reviewed to determine plaque location and characteristics.Results The prevalence of extracranial carotid plaque in Caucasians and Chinese was 73.1%and 49.1%,respectively(p=0.055).Prevalence of intracranial plaque was 38.5%and 69.1%in Caucasians and Chinese,respectively(p=0.02).Furthermore,42% of Caucasians and 16%of Chinese had high-risk plaque(HRP)features(intraplaque haemorrhage,luminal surface disruption)in the extracranial carotid artery(p=0.03).The prevalence of HRP features in intracranial arteries was not significantly different between the two cohorts(4%vs 11%;p=0.42).Conclusions Differences in the location and characteristics of cerebrovascular atherosclerosis were identified by vessel wall MRI in US Caucasian and Chinese subjects with recent anterior circulation ischaemic stroke.Extracranial carotid plaques with HRP features were more common in Caucasians.Intracranial plaques were more common in Chinese subjects,but no significant difference between the two cohorts in intracranial HRP prevalence was found.Larger studies using vessel wall imaging to investigate racial differences in cerebrovascular disease may inform underlying mechanisms of HRP development and may ultimately help guide appropriate therapy.Hiroko Watase Mi Shen Binbin Sui Peiyi Gao Dong Zhang Jie Sun Niranjan Balu Daniel S Hippe Gail P Jarvik Xihai Zhao Rui Li Shuo Chen Chun Yuan Thomas S Hatsukami 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,1:4
14Migration of R28 Retinal Precursor Cells into Cochlear and Vestibular Organs显示文摘Damaged hair cells and neurons in the inner ear generally can not be replaced in mammals. The loss of these cells causes permanent functional disorders in both the cochlear and vestibular systems. Transplantation of retinal precursor cells, R28 cells, into inner ear tissue may help replace missing cells. The aim of the current project was to induce R28 cell transdifferentiation into cochlear and vestibular cell types under culture conditions. The first part was related to R28 cell labeling with DiI fluorescence that would help identify and track R28 cells. The second part involved co-culturing R28 cells in cochlear and vestibular organotropic cultures or isolated spiral ganglion neurons. The results suggest that R28 cells have the potential to differentiate into supporting cell types and spiral ganglion neurons in serum free medium, probably under the influence of diffusible signals from inner ear tissues. 16Secondary aorto-esophageal fistula after thoracic aortic aneurysm endovascular repair treated by covered esophageal stenting显示文摘Thoracic endovascular aortic repair for thoracic aortic aneurysms is an accepted alternative to open surgery, especially in patients with significant comorbidities. The procedure itself has a low risk of complications and fistulas to surrounding organs are rarely reported. An 86-year-old patient was admitted to our hospital with gastro intestinal(GI) bleeding and a suspected aortoesophageal fistula. Eight months prior, the patient had undergone a stent graft repair of a mycotic thoracic aneurysm. Computerized tomography angiography and upper GI endoscopy confirmed an aortoesophageal fistula, which was treated by esophageal stenting. 19Low-radiation and high image quality coronary computed tomography angiography in “real-world” unselected patients显示文摘AIM To determine the radiation dose and image quality in coronary computed tomography angiography(CCTA)using state-of-the-art dose reduction methods in unselected'real world'patients.METHODS In this single-centre study,consecutive patients in sinus rhythm underwent CCTA for suspected coronary artery disease(CAD)using a 320-row detector CT scanner.All patients underwent the standard CT acquisition protocol at our institute(Morriston Hospital)a combination of dose saving advances including prospective electrocardiogram-gating,automated tube current modulation,tube voltage reduction,heart rate reduction,and the most recent novel adaptive iterative dose reconstruction 3D(AIDR3D)algorithm.The cohort comprised real-world patients for routine CCTA who were not selected on age,body mass index,or heart rate.Subjective image quality was graded on a 4-point scale(4=excellent,1=non-diagnostic).RESULTS A total of 543 patients were included in the study with a mean body weight of 81±18 kg and a pre-scan mean heart rate of 70±11 beats per minute(bpm).When indicated,patients received rate-limiting medication with an oral beta-blocker followed by additional intravenous beta-blocker to achieve a heart rate below 65 bpm.The median effective radiation dose was 0.88 mSv(IQR,0.6-1.4 mSv)derived from a Dose Length Product of61.45 mGy.cm(IQR,42.86-100.00 mGy.cm).This also includes what we believe to be the lowest ever-reported radiation dose for a routine clinical CCTA(0.18 mSv).The mean image quality(SD)was 3.65±0.61,with a subjective image quality score of 3('good')or above for 93%of patient CCTAs.CONCLUSION Combining a low-dose scan protocol and AIDR3D with a 320-detector row CT scanner can provide high quality images at exceptionally low radiation dose in unselected patients being investigated for CAD.Caryl Elizabeth Richards Stephen Dorman Patricia John Anthony Davies Sharon Evans Tishi Ninan David Martin Sriranj Kannoly Gail Roberts-Davies Mark Ramsey Daniel Rhys Obaid 2018World Journal of Radiology2018,10,10:3
