| 1 | Model Identification of a Micro Air Vehicle显示文摘This paper is focused on the model identification of a Micro Air Vehicle (MAV) in straight steady flight condition. The identification is based on input-output data collected from flight tests using both frequency and time domain techniques. The vehicle is an in-house 40 cm wingspan airplane. Because of the complex coupled, multivariable and nonlinear dynamics of the aircraft, linear SISO structures for both the lateral and longitudinal models around a reference state were derived. | 3 | Empirical evaluation of confidence and prediction intervals for spatial models of forest structure in Jalisco,Mexico显示文摘In recent years there has been an increasing interest in developing spatial statistical models for data sets that are seemingly spatially independent.This lack of spatial structure makes it difficult,if not impossible to use optimal predictors such as ordinary kriging for modeling the spatial variability in the data.In many instances,the data still contain a wealth of information that could be used to gain flexibility and precision in estimation.In this paper we propose using a combination of regression analysis to describe the large-scale spatial variability in a set of survey data and a tree-based stratification design to enhance the estimation process of the small-scale spatial variability.With this approach,sample units(i.e.,pixel of a satellite image) are classified with respect to predictions of error attributes into homogeneous classes,and the classes are then used as strata in the stratified analysis.Independent variables used as a basis of stratification included terrain data and satellite imagery.A decision rule was used to identify a tree size that minimized the error in estimating the variance of the mean response and prediction uncertainties at new spatial locations.This approach was applied to a set of n=937 forested plots from a state-wide inventory conducted in 2006 in the Mexican State of Jalisco.The final models accounted for 62% to 82% of the variability observed in canopy closure(%),basal area(m2·ha-1),cubic volumes(m3·ha-1) and biomass(t·ha-1) on the sample plots.The spatial models provided unbiased estimates and when averaged over all sample units in the population,estimates of forest structure were very close to those obtained using classical estimates based on the sampling strategy used in the state-wide inventory.The spatial models also provided unbiased estimates of model variances leading to confidence and prediction coverage rates close to the 0.95 nominal rate. | Robin M.Reich C.Aguirre-Bravo Vanessa A.Bravo Martin Mendoza Briseo | 2011 | Journal of Forestry Research2011，22，2： | 3 |

| 20 | A programmed wave of uridylation-primed mRNA degradation is essential for meiotic progression and mammalian spermatogenesis显示文摘Several developmental stages of spermatogenesis are transcriptionally quiescent which presents major challenges associated with the regulation of gene expression. Here we identify that the zygotene to pachytene transit!on is not only associated with the resumption of transcription but also a wave of programmed mRNA degradation that is essential for meiotic progress!on. We explored whether terminal uridydyl transferase 4-(TUT4-) or TUT7-mediated 3' mRNA uridylation contributes to this wave of mRNA degradation during pachynema. Indeed, both TUT4 and TUT7 are expressed throughout most of spermatogenesis, however, loss of either TUT4 or TUT7 does not have any major impact upon spermatogenesis. Combined TUT4 and TUT7 (TUT4/7) deficiency results in embryonic growth defects, while conditional gene targeting revealed an essential role for TUT4/7 in pachytene progression. Loss of TUT4/7 results in the reduction of miRNA, piRNA and mRNA 31 uridylation. Although this reduction does not greatly alter miRNA or piRNA expression, TUT4/7-mediated uridylation is required for the clearanee of many zygotene-expressed transcripts in pachytene cells. We find that TUT4/7-regulated transcripts in pachytene spermatocytes are characterized by having long 3Z UTRs with length-adjusted enrichment for AU-rich elements. We also observed these features in TUT4/7-regulated maternal transcripts whose dosage was recently shown to be essential for sculpting a functional maternal transcriptome and meiosis. Therefore, mRNA 3Z uridylation is a critical determinant of both male and female germline transcriptomes.
