2Clinicopathological significance of FHIT protein expression in gastric adenocarcinoma patients显示文摘AIM: To investigate the expression of fragile histidine triad (FHIT) protein, and the possible relationship between FHIT expression and clinicopathological indices in gastric carcinoma.METHODS: FHIT protein expression was examined in 76 cases of gastric carcinoma, 58 cases of intraepithelial neoplasia, and 76 cases of corresponding normal mucosae by immunohistochemical method to analyze its relationship to histological grade, clinical stage, metastatic status and prognosis.RESULTS: The FHIT protein expression was positive in 28/76 (36.8%) cases of adenocarcinoma tissue, 22/58(37.9%) cases of adjacent dysplastic tissue and 76/76(100%) cases of distal normal gastric mucosa. There was a significant difference in the expression of FHIT protein between cancer or adjacent intraepithelial neoplasia and normal gastric mucosa (P = 0.000). FHIT protein expression was found in 64.3% (18/28) of grades Ⅰ and Ⅱ cancers,and 20.8% (10/48) of grade Ⅲ cancers (P = 0.000), in 56.3% (18/32) of stages Ⅰ and Ⅱ cancers and 22.7%(10/44) of stages Ⅲ and Ⅳ cancers (P = 0.004), and in 63.6% (14/22) of cancers without metastasis but only 25.9% (14/54) of those with metastasis (P = 0.003). The significant difference in the expression of FHIT was found between histological grade, clinical stage and metastatic status of cancer. Follow-up data showed that there was a significant difference in median survival time between cancer patients with expression of FHIT (71 mo) and those without (33 mo, log rank = 20.78, P = 0.000).CONCLUSION: FHIT protein is an important tumor suppressor protein. 3Loss of fragile histidine triad protein in human hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM: To investigate the expression of fragile histidine triad (FHIT) gene protein, Fhit, which is recently thought to be a candidate tumor suppressor. Abnormal expression of fragile histidine triad has been found in a variety of human cancers,but little is known about its expression in human hepatocellular carcinogenesis and evolution.METHODS: Sections of 83 primary human hepatocellular carcionoma with corresponding para-neoplastic liver tissue and 10 normal liver tissue were evaluated immunohistochemically for Fhit protein expression.RESULTS: All normal liver tissue and para-neoplastic liver tissue showed a strong expression of Fhit, whereas 50 of 83(65.0 %) carcinomas showed a marked loss or absence of Fhit expression. The differences of Fhit expression between carcinoma and normal or para-neoplastic liver tissue werehighly significant (P=0.000). The proportion of carcinomas with reduced Fhit expression showed an increasing trend (a) with decreasing differentiation or higher histological grade (P=0.219); (b) in tumors with higher clinical stage Ⅲ and ⅣV (91.3 %, P=0.000), compared with tumors with lower stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ (27.6 %); and (c) in cancers with bigger tumor size (>50 mm) (75.0 %, P=0.017), compared withsmaller tumor size (≤ 50 mm). 6心脏自主神经系统在心房颤动发生和维持中的作用显示文摘心脏自主神经系统(ANS)包括外在ANS与内在ANS,均同时含有肾上腺素能与胆碱能神经纤维。刺激实验动物(犬)的颈部迷走交感干或位于心房表面的神经丛可使其心房有效不应期(ERP)缩短,ERP离散度增加,心房颤动(简称房颤)的诱发性增加;不论有无器质性心脏病,某些房颤患者在房颤发作前表现出ANS张力的显著变化。针对实验动物(犬)的去神经措施,可以不同程度地消除心脏ANS刺激所介导的心房ERP缩短及其离散度增加,并使房颤的诱发率降低;针对房颤患者直接或间接、单独或辅助的心房神经丛消融治疗,可使部分患者房颤治愈,或显著提高肺静脉电隔离或环肺静脉消融治疗房颤的成功率。上述现象则可能与位于肺静脉及心房、特别是左心房的心脏自主神经纤维通过多种机制参与了房颤的发生与维持有关。侯应龙 Sunny Po 2008中国心脏起搏与心电生理杂志2008,22,3:21

9Advances in photocatalytic disinfection of bacteria:Development of photocatalysts and mechanisms显示文摘Photocatalysis has attracted worldwide attention due to its potential in solar energy conversion.As a 'green' advanced oxidation technology, it has been extensively used for water disinfection and wastewater treatment. This article provides a review of the recent progress in solar energy-induced photocatalytic disinfection of bacteria, focusing on the development of highly efficient photocatalysts and their underlying mechanisms in bacterial inactivation. The photocatalysts are classified into Ti O2-based and non-Ti O2-based systems, as Ti O2 is the most investigated photocatalyst. The synthesis methods, modification strategies, bacterial disinfection activities and mechanisms of different types of photocatalysts are reviewed in detail.Emphasis is given to the modified Ti O2, including noble metal deposition, non-metal doping,dye sensitization and composite Ti O2, along with typical non-Ti O2-based photocatalysts for bacterial disinfection, including metal oxides, sulfides, bismuth metallates, graphene-based photocatalysts, carbon nitride-based photocatalysts and natural photocatalysts. A simple and versatile methodology by using a partition system combined with scavenging study is introduced to study the photocatalytic disinfection mechanisms in different photocatalytic systems. 10Chilli anthracnose disease caused by Colletotrichum species显示文摘Anthracnose disease is one of the major economic constraints to chilli production worldwide, especially in tropical and subtropical regions. Accurate taxonomic information is necessary for effective disease control management. In the Colletotrichum patho-system, different Colletotrichum species can be associated with anthracnose of the same host. Little information is known concerning the interactions of the species associated with the chilli anthracnose although several Colletotrichum species have been reported as causal agents of chilli anthracnose disease worldwide. The ambiguous taxonomic status of Colletotrichum species has resulted in inaccurate identification which may cause practical problems in plant breeding and disease management. Although the management and control of anthracnose disease are still being extensively researched, commercial cultivars of Capsicum annuum that are resistant to the pathogens that cause chilli anthracnose have not yet been developed. This paper reviews the causal agents of chilli anthracnose, the disease cycle, conventional methods in identification of the pathogen and molecular approaches that have been used for the identification of Colletotrichum species. Pathogenetic variation and population structure of the causal agents of chilli anthracnose along with the current taxonomic status of Colletotrichum species are discussed. 11Histological origin of pseudomyxoma peritonei in Chinese women:Clinicopathology and显示文摘AIM:To investigate the histological origin of pseudomyxoma peritonei(PMP)in Chinese women.METHODS:The clinical and pathological data were reviewed for 35 women with PMP,and specimens of the peritoneal,appendiceal and ovarian lesions of each patient were examined using the PV-6000 immunohistochemistry method.Antibodies included cytokeratin(CK)7,CK20,mucin(MUC)-1,MUC-2,carbohydrate antigen(CA)-125,estrogen receptor(ER),and progesterone receptor(PR).RESULTS:Abundant colloidal mucinous tumors were observed in the peritoneum in all 35 cases.Thirty-one patients had a history of appendectomy,28 of whom had mucinous lesions.There was one patient with appendicitis,one whose appendix showed no apparent pathological changes,and one with unknown surgical pathology.Ovarian mucinous tumors were found in 24 patients.The tumors were bilateral in 13 patients,on the right-side in nine,and on the left side in two.Twenty patients had combined appendiceal and ovarian lesions;16 of whom had undergone initial surgery for appendiceal lesions.Four patients had undergone initial surgery for ovarian lesions,and relapse occurred in these patients at 1,11,32 and 85 mo after initial surgery.Appendi-ceal mucinous tumors were found in each of these four patients.Thirty-three of the 35 patients showed peritoneal lesions that were positive for CK20 and MUC-2,but negative for CK7,MUC-1,CA125,ER and PR.The expression patterns in the appendix and the ovary were similar to those of the peritoneal lesions.In one of the remaining two cases,CK20,CK7 and MUC-2 were positive,and MUC-1,CA125,ER and PR were negative.The ovaries were not resected.The appendix of one patient was removed at another hospital,and no specimen was evaluated.In the other case,the appendix appeared to be normal during surgery,and was not resected.Peritoneal and ovarian lesions were negative for CK20,MUC-2,CK7,MUC-1,CA125,ER and PR.CONCLUSION:Most PMP originated from the appendix.Among women with PMP,the ovarian tumors were implanted rather than primary.For patients with PMP,appendectomy should be performed routinely.The ovaries,especially the right ovaries should be explored.Ai-Tao Guo Xin Song Li-Xin Wei Po Zhao 2011World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,30:14
12认知行为团体咨询对大学生抑郁症状的干预效果显示文摘目的:探讨认知行为团体咨询对大学生抑郁症状的干预效果。方法:于2013年3月和9月共招募存在轻中度抑郁症状的大学生80名[Beck抑郁问卷第二版(BDI-II)得分为5≤BDI-II<21],将其随机分至干预组(n=40)或对照组(n=40),干预组接受为期8周的认知行为团体咨询,对照组在干预期和追踪期不接受任何处理。在基线水平、8周干预后及随访3个月末通过BDI-II、生活满意度问卷(LSR)、大学生解释风格问卷(ESQ)及社会问题解决问卷中文版(C-SPIS)来评估干预效果。结果:BDI-II、LSR、消极解释风格(CN)、消极问题定向(NPO)以及积极问题定向(PPO)评分的分组与时间的交互效应均有统计学意义(均P<0.05)。进一步简单效应分析表明:基线水平,两组各量表得分差异均无统计学意义(均P<0.05);8周干预后,干预组的BDI-II得分低于对照组[(6.6±3.1)vs.(10.3±4.1),P<0.001];随访3个月末,干预组的BDI-II、CN、NPO得分均低于对照组[(4.5±2.2)vs.(12.6±4.6),(12.2±1.2)vs.(14.9±1.2),(12.8±2.5)vs.(16.9±2.8),均P<0.05],而LSR和PPO得分均高于对照组[(4.3±0.9)vs.(3.5±1.0),(18.3±2.7)vs.(16.7±2.0),均P<0.05]。结论:认知行为团体咨询能有效降低抑郁症状,促进解释风格的积极转变,并提升问题解决能力,增进生活满意度。杨燕 杨冉明 林潇骁 肖晶 OEI Tian Po 崔丽霞 2014中国心理卫生杂志2014,28,12:13
13Hepatitis B virus X protein suppresses virus-triggered IRF3 activation and IFN-β induction by disrupting the VISA-associated complex显示文摘Viral RNAs produced during viral infection are recognized by the cytoplasmic RNA helicases retinoic acid-inducible gene-I(RIG-I)and melanoma differentiation-associated gene 5(MDA5).A central adapter protein downstream of RIG-I and MDA5 is the mitochondrial membrane protein virus-induced signaling adaptor(VISA),which mediates the induction of type I interferons(IFNs)through the activation of transcription factors such as nuclear factor-kappaB(NF-kB)and IFN-regulatory factor-3(IRF3).Here we found that hepatitis B virus(HBV)-encoded X protein(HBx)acts as an inhibitor of virus-triggered IRF3 activation and IFN-b induction.Reporter and plaque assays indicate that HBx inhibits signaling by components upstream but not downstream of VISA.Immunoprecipitation experiments indicate that HBx interacts with VISA and disrupts the association of VISA with its upstream and downstream components.These findings suggest that HBx acts as a suppressor of virus-triggered induction of type I IFNs,which explains the observation that HBV causes transient and chronic infection in hepatocytes but fails to activate the pattern recognition receptor-mediated IFN induction pathways.Xianmiao Wang Ying Li Aiping Mao Chao Li Yongkui Li Po Tien 2010Cellular & Molecular Immunology2010,7,5:13

15Neuroprotective effects of autophagy inhibition on hippocampal glutamate receptor subunits after hypoxia-ischemia-induced brain damage in newborn rats显示文摘Autophagy has been suggested to participate in the pathology of hypoxic-ischemic brain damage(HIBD).However,its regulatory role in HIBD remains unclear and was thus examined here using a rat model.To induce HIBD,the left common carotid artery was ligated in neonatal rats,and the rats were subjected to hypoxia for 2 hours.Some of these rats were intraperitoneally pretreated with the autophagy inhibitor 3-methyladenine(10 m M in 10 μL) or the autophagy stimulator rapamycin(1 g/kg) 1 hour before artery ligation.Our findings demonstrated that hypoxia-ischemia-induced hippocampal injury in neonatal rats was accompanied by increased expression levels of the autophagy-related proteins light chain 3 and Beclin-1 as well as of the AMPA receptor subunit GluR 1,but by reduced expression of GluR 2.Pretreatment with the autophagy inhibitor 3-methyladenine blocked hypoxia-ischemia-induced hippocampal injury,whereas pretreatment with the autophagy stimulator rapamycin significantly augmented hippocampal injury.Additionally,3-methyladenine pretreatment blocked the hypoxia-ischemia-induced upregulation of Glu R1 and downregulation of GluR2 in the hippocampus.By contrast,rapamycin further elevated hippocampal Glu R1 levels and exacerbated decreased GluR2 expression levels in neonates with HIBD.Our results indicate that autophagy inhibition favors the prevention of HIBD in neonatal rats,at least in part,through normalizing Glu R1 and GluR2 expression.Li-xiao Xu Xiao-juan Tang Yuan-yuan Yang Mei Li Mei-fang Jin Po Miao Xin Ding Ying Wang Yan-hong Li Bin Sun Xing Feng 2017Neural Regeneration Research2017,12,3:12

17Propofol differentially induces unconsciousness and respiratory depression through distinct interactions between GABAa receptor and GABAergic neuron in corresponding nuclei显示文摘Propofol is the most commonly used intravenous anesthetic worldwide.It can induce loss of consciousness prior to the occurrence of severe respiratory suppression,which is also a pharmacodynamic feature of all general anesthetics.However,the neural mechanisms underlying this natural phenomenon are controversial and highly related to patient safety.In the present study,we demonstrated that the pharmacodynamic effects of propofol(50 and 100 μM)on suppression of consciousness-related excitatory postsynaptic currents in the medial prefrontal cortex(mPFC)and centromedian nucleus of the thalamus(CMT)were lower than those in the kernel respiratory rhythmogenesis nucleus pre-Botzinger complex(PrBo).Furthermore,we unexpectedly found that the GABAa receptor β3 subunit is the key target for propofol's action and that it is mutually and exclusively expressed in GABAergic neurons.It is also more abundant in the mPFC and CMT,but mainly co-localized with GABAergic neurons in the PrBo.As a result,the differentiated expression pattern should mediate more neuron suppression through the activation of GABAergic neurons in the mPFC and CMT at low doses of propofol(50 μM).However,PrBo GABAergic neurons were only activated by propofol at a high dose(100 μM).These results highlight the detailed pharmacodynamic effects of propofol on consciousness-related and respiration-related nuclei and provide the distinct interaction mechanism between the β3 subunit and GABAergic neurons in mediating the suppression of consciousness compared to the inhibition of respiration.Junli Jiang Yingfu Jiao Po Gao Wen Yin Wei Zhou Yunchun Zhang Yanjun Liu Daxiang Wen Yuan Wang Liang Zhou Tian Yu Weifeng Yu 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,8:11
18Modeling of elastic wave propagation on a curved free surface using an improved finite-difference algorithm显示文摘Based on existing direct and imaging methods of a staggered finite-difference scheme, an improved algorithm for staggered finite-difference is proposed to implement rugged topographic free boundary conditions. This method assumes that the free surface can be implemented with horizontal and vertical free surface segments and their corners; the free surface passes through the grid points of shear stress components, instead of the normal stress components. Imaging is carried out for stress components in both horizontal and vertical directions, thus increasing the accuracy. To update particle- velocities, imaging and updating are first performed in the horizontal direction, and then in the vertical direction. The numerical results for elastic flat horizontal free surface with the imaging method and those for flat free surfaces of various slope angles with the proposed method are compared, and are shown to be in good agreement. 19Clinicopathological significance and prognostic value of LRP16 expression in colorectal carcinoma显示文摘AIM: To explore the expression of leukemia related protein 16 (LRP16) in colorectal carcinoma, and analyze its correlation with clinicopathologic features and prognosis. METHODS: Immunohistochemistry for LRP16 was performed in 201 cases of colorectal carcinoma and 60 cases of distal normal mucosa. Medical records were reviewed and clinicopathological analysis was performed. RESULTS: LRP16 expression was detected in 117 of 201 cases of the colorectal carcinoma and in 21 cases of 60 distal normal mucosa. The expression of LRP16 in carcinoma was significantly higher than that in normal mucosa (χ 2 = 9.999, P = 0.002). LRP16 protein expression was found in 43.3% (52/120) of carcinoma at stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ , and 80.2% (65/81) of carcinoma at stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ (χ 2 =27.088, P = 0.001). Correlation between LRP16 expression and clinicopathological factors was significant in differentiation (P = 0.010), tumor size (P = 0.001), infiltrative depth (P = 0.000) and distant metastasis (P = 0.027). The difference of median survival time between cancer patients with LRP16 expression (38.0 mo) and those without was statistically significant (105.0 mo, Log rank = 41.455, P = 0.001). The multivariate survival analysis revealed that LRP16 expression was correlated significantly (Cox’s regression: P = 0.001, relative risk = 2.082) with shortened survival in the patients with colorectal cancer. 20Advanced oxidation of bromide-containing drinking water: A balance between bromate and trihalomethane formation control显示文摘Addition of H2O2 has been employed to repress bromate formation during ozonation of bromide-containing source water.However,the addition of H2O2 will change the oxidation pathways of organic compounds due to the generation of abundant hydroxyl radicals,which could afect the removal efcacy of trihalomethane precursors via the combination of ozone and biological activated carbon(O3-BAC).In this study,we evaluated the efects of H2O2 addition on bromate formation and trihalomethane formation potential(THMFP)reduction during treatment of bromide-containing(97.6–129.1μg/L)source water by the O3-BAC process.At an ozone dose of 4.2 mg/L,an H2O2/O3(g/g)ratio of over 1.0 was required to maintain the bromate concentration below 10.0μg/L,while a much lower H2O2/O3ratio was sufcient for a lower ozone dose.An H2O2/O3(g/g)ratio below 0.3 should be avoided since the bromate concentration will increase with increasing H2O2 dose below this ratio.However,the addition of H2O2 at an ozone dose of 3.2 mg/L and an H2O2/O3 ratio of 1.0 resulted in a 43% decrease in THMFP removal when compared with the O3-BAC process.The optimum H2O2/O3(g/g) ratio for balancing bromate and trihalomethane control was about 0.7–1.0.Fractionation of organic materials showed that the addition of H2O2 decreased the removal efcacy of the hydrophilic matter fraction of DOC by ozonation and increased the reactivity of the hydrophobic fractions during formation of trihalomethane,which may be the two main reasons responsible for the decrease in THMFP reduction efcacy.Overall,this study clearly demonstrated that it is necessary to balance bromate reduction and THMFP control when adopting an H2O2 addition strategy.Yongjing Wang Jianwei Yu Po Han Jing Sha Tao Li Wei An Juan Liu Min Yang 2013Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,11:9
