4Tongqiao Huoxue Decoction ameliorates learning and memory defects in rats with vascular dementia by up-regulating the Ca^(2+)-CaMKII-CREB pathway显示文摘The present study was aimed at determining the effects of Tongqiao Huoxue Decoction(TQHXD) on the Ca2+-Ca MKII-CREB pathway and the memory and learning capacities of rats with vascular dementia(VD). The rat VD model was established by using an improved bilateral carotid artery ligation method. The Morris water maze experiment was used to evaluate the ethology of the VD rats following treatments with TQHXD at 3.01, 6.02, and 12.04 g·kg–1 per day for 31 days. At the end of experiment, the hippocampus were harvested and analyzed. Western blotting and RT-PCR were used to measure the expression levels of calmodulin-binding protein kinase II(Ca MKII), protein kinase A(PKA), c AMP-response element binding protein(CREB), and three N-methyl-D-aspartic acid receptor subunits(NR1, NR2 A, and NR2B). Our results revealed that TQHXD could alleviate the loss of learning abilities and increase the memory capacity(P < 0.05 and P < 0.01 vs the model group, respectively). The treatment with 6.02 and 12.04 g·kg–1 of TQHXD significantly up-regulated the Ca2+-Ca MKII-CREB pathway in the hippocampus. 5Power Matching and Energy Efficiency Improvement of Hydraulic Excavator Driven with Speed and Displacement Variable Power Source显示文摘Mobile machinery energy efficiency and emission pollution are the national and worldwide issues. This paper contributes in solving these problems by applying a speed variable power source. Unfortunately, almost all of the speed variable systems have the dynamic response problem when the motor starts with full load or heavy load. To address this problem, a hydraulic accumulator is used to balance the load of the power source for assisting starting of the motor and a matching method combined with speed and displacement control of the pump is proposed to improve the energy efficiency and dynamic performance simultaneously under different working conditions. Also, the power source/valve combined control strategy of an independent metering system is designed to realize flow matching of the whole system. Firstly, a test system is established to study the dynamic performance and energy efficiency of the speed variable power source with an auxiliary accumulator. Working performance and energy consumption of the power source under different rotating speeds and different loads are studied. And then, the hydraulic excavator test rig with the proposed system is constructed. Furthermore, the working performance of the excavator with the speed-fixed and speed-variable strategy are studied comparatively. Results show that, compared with fixed-speed strategy, the electric power consumption during the idle period and partial load condition can be reduced about 2.05 kW and 1.37 kW. 6Laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy with or without splenectomy: spleen-preservation does not increase morbidity显示文摘BACKGROUND: The indications for laparoscopic spleen-preserving distal pancreatectomy (LSPDP) and its morbidity compared with laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy with splenectomy (LDPS) are ill-defined. This study aimed to share the indications for spleen-preservation and investigate the safety and outcome of LSPDP at our institution. METHODS: A retrospective review of patients who were scheduled to receive laparoscopic surgery for distal pancreatic lesions was conducted. The indications, surgical procedures, intra-operative data, and outcomes of the two procedures were collected and compared by statistical analysis. RESULTS: LDPS and LSPDP were successfully performed in 16 and 21 patients respectively, whereas they were converted to open surgery in 9 patients. There were no significant differences in age, gender, operation time, blood loss, and conversion rate between the LDPS and LSPDP groups. The mean tumor size showed an inter-group difference (5.05 vs 2.53 cm, P<0.001). There were no significant differences in complication and morbidity rates between the two groups. 7Modern pollen-vegetation relationship based on discriminant analysis across an altitudinal transect on Gongga Mountain,eastern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Quantitative relationship between modern pollen assemblage and altitudinal vegetation belt is crucial for the reconstruction of paleovegetation in the mountain regions.Modern pollen analysis on 70 topsoil samples was conducted across an altitudinal transect(1100-4500 m) on the eastern slope of Gongga Mountain in the eastern Tibetan Plateau with an elevation interval of 50 m.Distributions of major pollen types along the transect indicated a weak correlation between Pinus pollen and the elevation.Distributions of Picea and Abies pollen(percentage sum of 2%-8%) could fairly indicate the elevation range of 2700-3700 m,as well as the subalpine dark coniferous forest and the timberline in the region.High percentage intervals of alpine types of Ericaceae,Cupressaceae and Cyperaceae were correlated to the high-elevation regions(3700-4500 m) dominated by alpine shrub meadow and alpine meadow.Seven altitudinal vegetation belts on the eastern slope of Gongga Mountain were well defined by discriminant analysis conducted on the modern pollen assemblages,as reflected by high values of probability of modern analog.Most of the modern pollen assemblages(88.5%) were typical for the vegetation types at their sampling locations.Thus,the relationship between the modern pollen assemblages and vegetation across the altitudinal transect based on discriminant analysis can be applied to the quantitative reconstruction of paleovegetation changes in the mountain regions of the eastern Tibetan Plateau.LI Quan GE QuanSheng TONG GuoBang 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,35:6

11Construction of a niche-specific spinal white matter-like tissue to promote directional axon regeneration and myelination for rat spinal cord injury repair显示文摘Directional axon regeneration and remyelination are crucial for repair of spinal cord injury(SCI),but existing treatments do not effectively promote those processes.Here,we propose a strategy for construction of niche-specific spinal white matter-like tissue(WMLT)using decellularized optic nerve(DON)loaded with neurotrophin-3(NT-3)-overexpressing oligodendrocyte precursor cells.A rat model with a white matter defect in the dorsal spinal cord of the T10 segment was used.The WMLT transplantation group showed significant improvement in coordinated motor functions compared with the control groups.WMLT transplants integrated well with host spinal cord white matter,effectively addressing several barriers to directional axonal regeneration and myelination during SCI repair.In WMLT,laminin was found to promote development of oligodendroglial lineage(OL)cells by binding to laminin receptors.Interestingly,laminin could also guide linear axon regeneration via interactions with specific integrins on the axon surface.The WMLT developed here utilizes the unique microstructure and bioactive matrix of DON to create a niche rich in laminin,NT-3 and OL cells to achieve significant structural repair of SCI.Our protocol can help to promote research on repair of nerve injury and construction of neural tissues and organoids that form specific cell niches.Bi-Qin Lai Yu-Rong Bai Wei-Tao Han Bao Zhang Shu Liu Jia-Hui Sun Jia-Lin Liu Ge Li Xiang Zeng Ying Ding Yuan-Huan Ma Ling Zhang Zheng-Hong Chen Jun Wang Yuan Xiong Jin-Hua Wu Qi Quan Ling-Yan Xing Hong-Bo Zhang Yuan-Shan Zeng 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,5:3

14Non-concomitant cortical structural and functional alterations in sensorimotor areas following incomplete spinal cord injury显示文摘Brain plasticity, including anatomical changes and functional reorganization, is the physiological basis of functional recovery after spinal cord injury(SCI). The correlation between brain anatomical changes and functional reorganization after SCI is unclear. This study aimed to explore whether alterations of cortical structure and network function are concomitant in sensorimotor areas after incomplete SCI. Eighteen patients with incomplete SCI(mean age 40.94 ± 14.10 years old; male:female, 7:11) and 18 healthy subjects(37.33 ± 11.79 years old; male:female, 7:11) were studied by resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging. Gray matter volume(GMV) and functional connectivity were used to evaluate cortical structure and network function, respectively. There was no significant alteration of GMV in sensorimotor areas in patients with incomplete SCI compared with healthy subjects. Intra-hemispheric functional connectivity between left primary somatosensory cortex(BA1) and left primary motor cortex(BA4), and left BA1 and left somatosensory association cortex(BA5) was decreased, as well as inter-hemispheric functional connectivity between left BA1 and right BA4, left BA1 and right BA5, and left BA4 and right BA5 in patients with SCI. Functional connectivity between both BA4 areas was also decreased. The decreased functional connectivity between the left BA1 and the right BA4 positively correlated with American Spinal Injury Association sensory score in SCI patients. The results indicate that alterations of cortical anatomical structure and network functional connectivity in sensorimotor areas were non-concomitant in patients with incomplete SCI, indicating the network functional changes in sensorimotor areas may not be dependent on anatomic structure. The strength of functional connectivity within sensorimotor areas could serve as a potential imaging biomarker for assessment and prediction of sensory function in patients with incomplete SCI. 16Thermoresponsive Fluorescent Semicrystalline Polymers Decorated with Aggregation Induced Emission Luminogens显示文摘Thermoresponsive fluorescent polymers(TFPs) with unique temperature-dependent luminescent properties are of great importance for the development of new functional devices in recent years. Herein, we facilely synthesized an efficient blue-emissive polymer, abbreviated as PCB-TPE, using tetraphenylethene(TPE) as the main building block. PCB-TPE is thermally stable with a novel property of aggregation induced emission(AIE). The thermoresponsive property and mechanism of PCB-TPE were investigated. Its emission shows temperature-dependent features and reveals fine details in the thermal transitions from-10 °C to 60 °C. 17Triblock copolymer-assisted construction of 20 nm-sized ytterbium-doped TiO_2 hollow nanostructures for enhanced solar energy utilization efficiency显示文摘Rare-earth doped titania single-crystalline hollow nanoparticles of 20 nm are constructed via a simple sol-gel process. Amphiphilic ABA tri-block copolymers played a key role in assisting the formation of hollow structure, for which a hollow nanostructure growth mechanism is proposed. By introducing rare earth into the synthesis process, the as-prepared nanoparticles exhibit near-infrared light absorption properties. Photo-decomposition efficiency of Orange II azo dye can be successfully evaluated when using Yb3+-doped Ti O2 hollow nanoparticles as photocatalysts; it is more than two times higher than the pure Ti O2 hollow nanoparticles.
