| 1 | Surveillance for hepatocellular carcinoma in chronic liver disease:Evidence and controversies显示文摘Primary liver cancer is the sixth most common cancer in the world and the third cause of cancer-related death.Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)represents more than90%of primary liver cancers and generally occurs in patients with underlying chronic liver disease such as viral hepatitis,hemochromatosis,primary biliary cirrhosis and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.Especially cirrhotic patients are at risk of HCC and regular surveillance could enable early detection and therapy,with potentially improved outcome.We here summarize existing evidence for surveillance including ultrasound,other radiological modalities and various serum biomarkers,and current international guideline recommendations for surveillance.Ultrasound andα-fetoprotein(alone or in combination)are most frequently used for surveillance,but their sensitivities and specificities are still far from perfect,and evidence for surveillance remains weak and controversial.Various other potential surveillance tools have been tested,including serum markers as des-carboxyprothrombin,lectin-boundα-fetoprotein,and(most recently)circulating TIE2-expressing monocytes,and radiological investigations such as computed tomographyscan or magnetic resonance imaging-scan.Although early results appear promising,these tools have generally been tested in diagnostic rather than surveillance setting,and in most cases,no detailed information is available on their cost-effectiveness.For the near future,it remains important to define those patients with highest risk of HCC and most benefit from surveillance,and to restrict surveillance to these categories. | Suzanne van Meer Robert A de Man Peter D Siersema Karel J van Erpecum | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013，19，40： | 10 |
| 2 | Allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T-cell immunotherapy exhibits promising clinical safety and prolongs the survival of patients with late-stage lung or liver cancer显示文摘Vγ9Vδ2 T cells are promising candidates for cellular tumor immunotherapy.Due to their HLA-independent mode of action,allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T cells can be considered for clinical application.To apply allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T cells in adoptive immunotherapy,the methodology used to obtain adequate cell numbers with optimal effector function in vitro needs to be optimized,and clinical safety and efficacy also need to be proven.Therefore,we developed a novel formula to improve the expansion of peripheralγδT cells from healthy donors.Then,we used a humanized mouse model to validate the therapeutic efficacy of expandedγδT cells in vivo;furthermore,the expandedγδT cells were adoptively transferred into late-stage liver and lung cancer patients.We found that the expanded cells possessed significantly improved immune effector functions,including proliferation,differentiation,and cancer cell killing,both in vitro and in the humanized mouse model.Furthermore,a phase I clinical trial in 132 late-stage cancer patients with a total of 414 cell infusions unequivocally validated the clinical safety of allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T cells.Among these 132 patients,8 liver cancer patients and 10 lung cancer patients who received≥5 cell infusions showed greatly prolonged survival,which preliminarily verified the efficacy of allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T-cell therapy.Our clinical studies underscore the safety and efficacy of allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T-cell immunotherapy,which will inspire further clinical investigations and eventually benefit cancer patients. | Yan Xu Zheng Xiang Mohammed Alnaggar Léonce Kouakanou Jiawei Li Junyi He Jiashuang Yang Yi Hu Yan Chen Li Lin Jianlei Hao Jingxia Li Jibing Chen Man Li Qingling Wu Christian Peters Qinghua Zhou Jianshuang Li Yingqing Liang Xiaohua Wang Baohui Han Meili Ma Dieter Kabelitz Kecheng Xu Wenwei Tu Yangzhe Wu Zhinan Yin | 2021 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021，18，2： | 8 |

| 6 | The European registry of quality outcomes for cataract and refractive surgery(EUREQUO):a database study of trends in volumes,surgical techniques and outcomes of refractive surgery显示文摘Background:A European web-based registry for refractive surgery was established in 2008;The European Registry of Quality Outcomes for Cataract and Refractive Surgery(EUREQUO).The aim of the registry was to improve treatment and standards of care for refractive surgery.Further aims were to offer a tool for benchmarking by establishing a reference database and for surgeons to enter and analyze their own outcomes.The purpose of this study was to characterize the registry and analyze the data collected during its first decade.Methods:The characteristics of the web-based registry are described.Data collected from February 4^(th) 2004 until June 30th 2014 are included in the analysis.The database is analyzed in terms of surgical technique,indications for surgery,complications,and refractive and visual outcomes.Results:Data have been reported from 47 centers in 14 countries until mid-2014.About 4,000 procedures were reported annually.The most frequent procedure was laser-assisted in-situ keratomileusis(LASIK)with 11697 reported surgeries.Over time in the database,LASIK declined(p<0.001)while photorefractive keratectomy(PRK)and refractive lens exchange(RLE)increased(p<0.001 for both procedures).The indications for surgery,in terms of preoperative refraction and age,were stable over time,for all types of procedures.Surgical complications were reported infrequently and with a well-known relationship to the type of surgical procedure.The reported refractive outcomes were good.The visual outcomes indicate a significant increase of visual acuity after high myopia treatment by phakic intraocular lens in the anterior(phakic IOL AC)and the posterior(phakic IOL PC)chamber and a poorer visual outcome,after both myopia and hyperopia treatment,by epithelial LASIK(Epi-LASIK).Conclusions:We describe the establishment of a European registry for refractive surgery.The database increases at a rate of approximately 4000 refractive procedures per year.The most frequent procedure is LASIK,but both PRK and RLE are an increasing part of the reported procedures.The indications for surgery have been stable over time.Surgical complications and visual outcome vary,depending on the type of surgery. | Mats Lundström Sonia Manning Peter Barry Ulf Stenevi Ype Henry Paul Rosen | 2015 | Eye and Vision2015，2，1： | 3 |

| 8 | National Forest Inventories capture the multifunctionality of managed forests in Germany显示文摘Background:Forests perform various important ecosystem functions that contribute to ecosystem services.In many parts of the world,forest management has shifted from a focus on timber production to multi-purpose forestry,combining timber production with the supply of other forest ecosystem services.However,it is unclear which forest types provide which ecosystem services and to what extent forests primarily managed for timber already supply multiple ecosystem services.Based on a comprehensive dataset collected across 150 forest plots in three regions differing in management intensity and species composition,we develop models to predict the potential supply of 13 ecosystem services.We use those models to assess the level of multifunctionality of managed forests at the national level using national forest inventory data.Results:Looking at the potential supply of ecosystem services,we found trade-offs(e.g.between both bark beetle control or dung decomposition and both productivity or soil carbon stocks)as well as synergies(e.g.for temperature regulation,carbon storage and culturally interesting plants)across the 53 most dominant forest types in Germany.No single forest type provided all ecosystem services equally.Some ecosystem services showed comparable levels across forest types(e.g.decomposition or richness of saprotrophs),while others varied strongly,depending on forest structural attributes(e.g.phosphorous availability or cover of edible plants)or tree species composition(e.g.potential nitrification activity).Variability in potential supply of ecosystem services was only to a lesser extent driven by environmental conditions.However,the geographic variation in ecosystem function supply across Germany was closely linked with the distribution of main tree species.Conclusions:Our results show that forest multifunctionality is limited to subsets of ecosystem services.The importance of tree species composition highlights that a lack of multifunctionality at the stand level can be compensated by managing forests at the landscape level,when stands of complementary forest types are combined.These results imply that multi-purpose forestry should be based on a variety of forest types requiring coordinated planning across larger spatial scales. | Nadja K.Simons María R.Felipe-Lucia Peter Schall Christian Ammer Jürgen Bauhus Nico Blüthgen Steffen Boch François Buscot Markus Fischer Kezia Goldmann Martin M.Gossner Falk Hänsel Kirsten Jung Peter Manning Thomas Nauss Yvonne Oelmann Rodica Pena Andrea Polle Swen C.Renner Michael Schloter Ingo Schöning Ernst-Detlef Schulze Emily F.Solly Elisabeth Sorkau Barbara Stempfhuber Tesfaye Wubet Jörg Müller Sebastian Seibold Wolfgang W.Weisser | 2021 | Forest Ecosystems2021，8，1： | 2 |
