| 1 | Prevalence of hepatitis B and C markers among refugees in Athens显示文摘AIM: To assess the prevalence of hepatitis B and C serological markers in a population of refugees living in Athens.METHODS: One hundred and thirty refugees (81 males and 49 females, mean age ±SD: 31.7±8 years) were included in the study. The hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg),the hepatitis B virus core antibody (anti-HBc) and the hepatitis C virus antibody (anti-HCV) were detected using a third-generation immunoassay.RESULTS: Twenty individuals (15.4%) were HBsAg positive and 69 (53.1%) were anti-HBc positive. The prevalence of HBsAg and anti-HBc was higher among refugees from Albania and Asia (statistical significant difference, P<0.008 and P<0.001 respectively). The prevalence of these markers was found irrelevant to age or sex. Anti-HCV was detected in the serum of 3 individuals (2.3 %). No differences among age, sex or ethnicity regarding anti-HCV prevalence were found.CONCLUSION: It can be concluded that refugees living in Athens are an immigrant population characterized by a high incidence of HBV infection. The prevalence of HBV markers is higher among refugees from Albania and Asia. Despite their excellent usability, their application includes general surgical risks or possible complications, the primary and most common is necrosis of the flap. To improve flap survival, researchers have used different methods, including the use of adiposederived stem cells, with significant positive results. | 5 | 与 transarterial chemoembolization 对待的 Hepatocellular 癌: 有参量的提高对比的 ultrasonography 的评估显示文摘 AIM:To evaluate the response of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) to transarterial chemoembolization(TACE) using a simplified protocol of parametric contrastenhanced ultrasound(pCEUS).METHODS:Eighteen patients with HCC(18 target tumors,diameter:2.8-12 cm) were evaluated before,and 20 d after TACE.The distribution and morphology of TACE-induced necrosis in these tumors precluded accurate evaluation by visual assessment or by simple measurements.For pCEUS,a 4.8 mL bolus of SonoVue(Bracco,Milan,Italy) was intravenously administered and analysis of tumor perfusion during the initial phase of enhancement(0-30 s post injection) was performed with dedicated software(Qontrast,Bracco,Milan,Italy).Time-intensity curves were plotted and three parameters were calculated:peak intensity(PI,in percentage %),time to peak(TTP in seconds,s) and area under the curve during wash-in(AUC-WI,in arbitrary units,a.u).Magnetic resonance imaging was the standard imaging modality for post-treatment evaluation.Changes in tumor size were recorded and response was assessed according to response evaluation criteria in solid tumors criteria.RESULTS:A statistically significant decrease in PI and AUC-WI was observed in the treated tumors post TACE;PIpre:21.5% ± 8.7%(mean ± SD),PIpost:12.7% ± 6.7%,P < 0.001,AUC-WI pre:17493 ± 9563 a.u,AUCWI post:9585 ± 5494 a.u,P < 0.001.A slight increase in TTP was noted post TACE,but this was not statistically significant;TTP pre:13.1 ± 4.3 s,TTP post:13.6 ± 4.2 s,P = 0.058).The changes in the aforementioned parameters were not accompanied by significant tumor shrinkage.CONCLUSION:pCEUS,even when limited to the study of the arterial phase of tumoral enhancement,can detect and quantify early perfusional changes in HCC post TACE. | Hippocrates Moschouris Katerina Malagari Athanasios Marinis Ioannis Kornezos Konstantinos Stamatiou Georgios Nikas Marina Georgiou Papadaki Panagiotis Gkoutzios | 2012 | World Journal of Radiology2012，4，8： | 3 |

| 10 | Effect of glycemic control on markers of subclinical atherosclerosis in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus:A review显示文摘Cardiovascular disease is the predominant cause of death in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Evidence suggests a strong association between duration and degree of hyperglycemia and vascular disease.However,large trials failed to show cardiovascular benefit after intensive glycemic control,especially in patients with longer diabetes duration.Atherosclerosis is a chronic and progressive disease,with a long asymptomatic phase.Subclinical atherosclerosis,which is impaired in T2DM,includes impaired vasodilation,increased coronary artery calcification(CAC),carotid intima media thickness,arterial stiffness,and reduced arterial elasticity.Each of these alterations is represented by a marker of subclinical atherosclerosis,offering a cost-effective alternative compared to classic cardiac imaging.Their additional use on top of traditional risk assessment strengthens the predictive risk for developing coronary artery disease(CAD).We,herein,review the existing literature on the effect of glycemic control on each of these markers separately.Effective glycemic control,especially in earlier stages of the disease,attenuates progression of structural markers like intima-media thickness and CAC.Functional markers are improved after use of newer antidiabetic agents,such as incretin-based treatments or sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors,especially in T2DM patients with shorter disease duration.Larger prospective trials are needed to enhance causal inferences of glycemic control on clinical endpoints of CAD. | Sofia Antoniou Katerina K K Naka Marios Papadakis Aris Bechlioulis Agathocles Tsatsoulis Lampros K Michalis Stelios Tigas | 2021 | World Journal of Diabetes2021，12，11： | 2 |
