| 1 | Natural hydroxyanthraquinoid pigments as potent food grade colorants:an overview显示文摘Natural pigments and colorants are widely used in the world in many industries such as textile dying,food processing or cosmetic manufacturing.Among the natural products of interest are various compounds belonging to carotenoids,anthocyanins,chlorophylls,melanins,betalains...The review emphasizes pigments with anthraquinoid skeleton and gives an overview on hydroxyanthraquinoids described in Nature,the first one ever published.Trends in consumption,production and regulation of natural food grade colorants are given,in the current global market.The second part focuses on the description of the chemical structures of the main anthraquinoid colouring compounds,their properties and their biosynthetic pathways.Main natural sources of such pigments are summarized,followed by discussion about toxicity and carcinogenicity observed in some cases.As a conclusion,current industrial applications of natural hydroxyanthraquinoids are described with two examples,carminic acid from an insect and Arpink red^(™)from a filamentous fungus. | Yanis CARO Linda ANAMALE Mireille FOUILLAUD Philippe LAURENT Thomas PETIT Laurent DUFOSSE | 2012 | Natural Products and Bioprospecting2012,2,5: | 8 |

| 3 | A hypothesis for treating inflammation and oxidative stress with hydrogen sulfide during age-related macular degeneration显示文摘Age-related macular degeneration(AMD) is a leading cause of blindness and is becoming a global crisis since affected people will increase to 288 million by 2040.Genetics,age,diabetes,gender,obesity,hypertension,race,hyperopia,iris-color,smoking,sun-light and pyroptosis have varying roles in AMD,but oxidative stress-induced inflammation remains a significant driver of pathobiology.Eye is a unique organ as it contains a remarkable oxygengradient that generates reactive oxygen species(ROS) which upregulates inflammatory pathways.ROS becomes a source of functional and morphological impairments in retinal pigment epithelium(RPE),endothelial cells and retinal ganglion cells.Reports demonstrated that hydrogen sulfide(H_2S) acts as a signaling molecule and that it may treat ailments.Therefore,we propose a novel hypothesis that H_2S may restore homeostasis in the eyes thereby reducing damage caused by oxidative injury and inflammation.Since H_2S has been shown to be a powerful antioxidant because of its free-radicals' inhibition properties in addition to its beneficial effects in age-relatedconditions,therefore,patients may benefit from H_2S salubrious effects not only by minimizing their oxidant and inflammatory injuries to retina but also by lowering retinal glutamate excitotoxicity. | Akash K George Mahavir Singh Rubens Petit Homme Avisek Majumder Harpal S SANDhu Suresh C Tyagi | 2018 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2018,11,5: | 3 |

| 7 | Simultaneous measurement of CO_2 sorption and swelling of phosphate-based ionic liquid显示文摘The development of alternative CO_2 capture solvents such as ionic liquids(ILs) and nanoparticle organic hybrid materials(NOHMs) have provided interesting options for CO_2 capture. In this study, CO_2 interactions with 1,3-dimethylimidazolium dimethylphosphate([MMIM]DMP),1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium dimethylphosphate([EMIM]DMP) and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium diethylphosphate([EMIM]DEP) that contain inorganic ester groups based on phosphate, were investigated using ATR FT-IR spectroscopy. CO_2-induced swelling, CO_2 diffusivity and CO_2 capture capacity were simultaneously measured to identify CO_2 capture mechanisms, kinetics and diffusion behaviors as a function of the alkyl chain length of the cation. | 13 | Iron in the NEEM ice core relative to Asian loess records over the last glacial–interglacial cycle显示文摘Mineral dust can indirectly affect the climate by supplying bioavailable iron(Fe)to the ocean.Here,we present the records of dissolved Fe(DFe)and total Fe(TDFe)in North Greenland Eemian Ice Drilling(NEEM)ice core over the past 110 kyr BP.The Fe records are significantly negatively correlated with the carbon-dioxide(CO_(2))concentrations during cold periods.The results suggest that the changes in Fe fluxes over the past 110 kyr BP in the NEEM ice core are consistent with those in Chinese loess records because the mineral-dust distribution is controlled by the East Asian deserts.Furthermore,the variations in the dust input on a global scale are most likely driven by changes in solar radiation during the last glacial–interglacial cycle in response to Earth’s orbital cycles.In the last glacial–interglacial cycle,the DFe/TDFe ratios were higher during the warm periods(following the post-Industrial Revolution and during the Holocene and last interglacial period)than during the main cold period(i.e.the last glacial maximum(LGM)),indicating that the aeolian input of iron and the iron fertilization effect on the oceans have a non-linear relationship during different periods.Although the burning of biomass aerosols has released large amounts of DFe since the Industrial Revolution,no significant responses are observed in the DFe and TDFe variations during this period,indicating that severe anthropogenic contamination has no significant effect on the DFe(TDFe)release in the NEEM ice core. | Cunde Xiao Zhiheng Du Mike J Handley Paul A Mayewski Junji Cao Simon Schüpbach Tong Zhang Jean-Robert Petit Chuanjin Li Yeongcheol Han Yuefang Li Jiawen Ren | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,7: | 2 |
