2Stability analysis of different cotton genotypes under normal and water-deficit conditions显示文摘Cotton plant observes significant reduction in seed cotton yield when subjected to water stress.To find out genotypes having better drought tolerance,seven genotypes of Gossypium hirsutum L.were tested under two moisture levels,i.e.,normal and water deficit stress conditions at five locations of Punjab,Pakistan(Faisalabad,Sahiwal,Vehari,Rahim Yar Khan,and Bahawalpur)in 2013 and 2014.Genotype×environment interaction(GEI)was studied using the genotype main effects and genotype by environment interaction(GGE)biplot and additive main effect and multiplicative interaction analysis.The genotypes G3(7001/11)and G6(FH-942)were stable under normal condition,while under drought condition,the stable genotype was G5(FH-326)when analysed using additive main effects and multiplicative interaction(AMMI)biplot scheme.While GGE biplot analysis on the basis of best performance revealed that under normal condition the genotypes,G1(L-13/10)and G2(FH-2056/10),carrying the common position in biplot.Whereas,under water deficit stress condition,G5 was the best adaptive genotype at all five locations.In the same way,ranking of genotypes showed that the G5 was the ideal genotype under both conditions.So,it is concluded that the genotype G5(FH-326)was found best for water deficit stress condition and can be cultivated under water scarce areas of Punjab.Muhammad Riaz Jehanzeb Farooq Saghir Ahmed Muhammad Amin Waqas Shafqat Chattha Maria Ayoub Riaz Ahmed Kainth 2019Journal of Integrative Agriculture2019,18,6:5

4Optimization of equitable irrigation water delivery for a large-scale rice irrigation scheme显示文摘Equitable water allocation is essential in an irrigation scheme for obtaining potential crop yields from the entire scheme,especially when water supply is inadequate.An optimization model achieved this goal by coupling an optimal water allocation model with available water supply and irrigation water demand for a river-fed rice irrigation system in Malaysia.This model consists of a paddy field water balance module and an optimization module.The outputs from the module are daily irrigation demand and surface runoff,if there is any.The optimization module consists of an objective function,which minimizes water shortage across the scheme area while maintaining equity in water allocation.This model performs optimization subject to several system constraints,and the decision variable of the model is daily releases or supply to the tertiary canals.Performance of this model remained unaffected under different water supply conditions,and the optimization model reliably examined the effects of alternate water allocation and management rules with field information.It improves efficiency and equity in water allocation with respect to crop growth stages and water shortages rather than simply cutting irrigation supply on a proportional basis to overcome water shortages.Md Rowshon Kamal Muhammad Iqbal Md Abdul Mojid Mohd Amin Mohd Soom Lai Sai Hin 2018International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,5:3
5Antimicrobial chemical constituents from endophytic fungus Phoma sp.显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the antiniicrobial polenlial of different extracts of the endophytic fungus Phoma sp.and the tentative identification of their active constituents.Methods:The extract and compounds were screened for antimicrobial activity using the Agar Well Diffusion Method.Four compounds were purified using column chromatography and tlieir structures were assigned using~1H and~(13)C NMR spectra,DEPT,2D COSY,HMQC and HMBC experiments.Results:The ethyl acetate fraction of Phoma sp.showed good antifungal,antibacterial,and algicidal properties.One new dihydrofuran derivative,named phomafuranol(1),together with tliree known compounds,phomalacton(2),(3R)-5-hydroxymellein(3)and emodin(4)were isolated from the ethyl acetate fraction of Phoma sp.Preliminary studies indicated that phomalacton(2)displayed strong antibacterial,good antifungal and antialgal activities.Similarly(3R)-5-hydroxymellein(3)and emodin(4)showed good antifungal,antibacterial and algicidal properties.Conclusions:Antimicrobial activities of the ethyl acetate fraction of the endophytic fungus Phoma sp.and isolated compounds clearly demonstrate that Phoma sp.and its active compounds represent a great potential for the food,cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.Hidayat Hussain Ines Kock Ahmed Al-Harrasi Ahmed Al-Rawahi Ghulam Abbas Ivan R.Green Afzal Shah Amin Badshah Muhammad Saleem Siegfried Draeger Barbara Schulz Karsten Krohn 2014Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2014,7,9:3
6Role of platelet-albumin-bilirubin score in predicting re-bleeding after band ligation for acute variceal hemorrhage显示文摘Platelet-albumin-bilirubin(PALBI)score was proposed by Roayaie et al with modification of previously studied albumin-bilirubin score to include platelet as an indicator of portal hypertension in 2015.Predictive value of this score was recently tested by Elshaarawy et al for re-bleeding in patients presenting with acute variceal hemorrhage.We did a similar study at our center(n=170)to look at incidence of re-bleeding after band ligation defined as drop in 2 units of hemoglobin and witnessed melena or hematemesis within 2 wk of the procedure.We calculated PALBI scores for all patients based on lab values prior to the procedure.Of 25.3%had re-bleeding episodes,area under receiver operating characteristic curve for PALBI as predictor of re-bleeding was 0.601(95%confidence interval:0.502-0.699).PALBI score showed moderate accuracy at predicting re-bleeding in our population.Muhammad S Faisal Tavankit Singh Hina Amin Jamak Modaresi Esfeh 2020World Journal of Hepatology2020,12,10:3

9An I/Q mixer with an integrated differential quadrature all-pass filter for on-chip quadrature LO signal generation显示文摘A down-conversion in-phase/quadrature(I/Q) mixer employing a folded-type topology,integrated with a passive differential quadrature all-pass filter(D-QAF),in order to realize the final down-conversion stage of a60 GHz receiver architecture is presented in this work.Instead of employing conventional quadrature generation techniques such as a polyphase filter or a frequency divider for the local oscillator(LO) of the mixer,a passive D-QAF structure is employed.Fabricated in a 65 nm CMOS process,the mixer exhibits a voltage gain of 7-8 dB in an intermediate frequency(IF) band ranging from 10 MHz-1.75 GHz.A fixed LO frequency of 12 GHz is used to down-convert a radio frequency(RF) band of 10.25-13.75 GHz.The mixer displays a third order input referred intercept point(IIP_3) ranging from-8.75 to-7.37 dBm for a fixed IF frequency of 10 MHz and a minimum single-sideband noise figure(SSB-NF) of 11.3 dB.The mixer draws a current of 6 mA from a 1.2 V supply voltage dissipating a power of 7.2 mW.Najam Muhammad Amin 王志功 李智群 2015Journal of Semiconductors2015,36,5:2

12Mesuaferrea stem bark extract induces apoptosis and inhibits metastasis in human colorectal carcinoma HCT 116 cells, through modulation of multiple cell signalling pathways显示文摘Considering the great potential of natural products as anticancer agents, the present study was designed to explore the molecular mechanisms responsible for anticancer activities of Mesua ferrea stem bark extract against human colorectal carcinoma. Based on MTT assay results, bioactive sub-fraction(SF-3) was selected for further studies using HCT 116 cells. Repeated column chromatography resulted in isolation of less active α-amyrin from SF-3, which was identified and characterized by GC-MS and HPLC methods. α-amyrin and betulinic acid contents of SF-3 were measured by HPLC methods. Fluorescent assays revealed characteristic apoptotic features, including cell shrinkage, nuclear condensation, and marked decrease in mitochondrial membrane potential in SF-3 treated cells. In addition, increased levels of caspases-9 and-3/7 levels were also observed in SF-3 treated cells. SF-3 showed promising antimetastatic properties in multiple in vitro assays. Multi-pathway analysis revealed significant down-regulation of WNT, HIF-1α, and EGFR with simultaneous up-regulation of p53, Myc/Max, and TGF-β signalling pathways in SF-3 treated cells. In addition, promising growth inhibitory effects were observed in SF-3 treated HCT 116 tumour spheroids, which give a hint about in vivo antitumor efficacy of SF-3 phytoconstituents. 13Affecting Factors of Chronic Diarrhea in Children under 3 Years of Age显示文摘The major cause of sickness in today’s developing world is Persistent diarrhea.The aim of this study is to examine the factors of chronic diarrhea,and provide resistance to children under 3 years of age.Prospective analytical case control study is used for data collection and analysis.The study is carried out in the Department of Pediatrics,Lady Reading Hospital and medical teaching institution,Peshawar,during 2016-17.This study includes 50 cases of acute diarrhea and 50 cases of chronic diarrhea controls under5 for analysis.The overall ratio of chronic diarrhea that occurred in children below 3 years,girl to boy is 4:2.The seasonal change revealed that in summer rainy season we have found the greatest amount of incidence of chronic diarrhea.In young age the risk factors of chronic diarrhea has been observed as,poor nutritional status,lack of exclusive breast feeding,incomplete vaccination,irrational or overdose use of antibiotics during acute diarrhea,lack of sanitation facility at home and poor water supply.Thus,it has been suggested that the use of antibiotics is irrational and other medicines to cure diarrhea is discouraging.The awareness about the act of nurture and raise awareness about breast feeding and Expanded Programmed of Immunization(EPI)should be developed.For doctors,medical students and paramedical staff,Standard Diarrhea Case Management should be established.Sanitation facility and hygienic drinking water are also significant for the prevention of chronic diarrhea.Muhammad Asif Kinza Amir Sana Amin XIE Hai-tang 2017世界最新医学信息文摘2017,17,A2:2

18PCR Targeting of Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria in Public Drinking Water of Lahore Metropolitan,Pakistan显示文摘Objective To investigate the prevalence of kanamycin(kan) and ampicillin(amp) resistant bacteria in public drinking water.Methods Bacteria containing kan and amp resistant genes were amplified by PCR and further characterized by colony hybridization and transformation studies.The genus of kan and amp resistant bacteria was determined with standard methods.Results Among the 625 drinking water samples,400 contained kan and amp resistant bacteria and the percentage was 42.5% and 57.5%,respectively,which was further confirmed by the amplification of a 810 bp kan resistant gene and a 850 bp amp resistant gene.Of the 170 kan resistant bacteria,90 were Gram negative and 80 were Gram positive.Of the 230 amp resistant bacteria,160 were Gram negative while 70 were Gram positive.Salmonella,Shigella,Staphylococcus,Streptococcus,and E.coli were detected as 13%,11%,17%,30%,and 29%,respectively.Bacterial strain DH5α transformed with plasmids isolated from kan and amp resistant bacteria confirmed that the antibiotic resistant genes were mediated by plasmids.Conclusion Drinking water is contaminated with kan and amp resistant bacteria due to poor sanitary conditions.ZAHOOR QADIR SAMRA MARIAM NASEEM SUMARIA JAVED KHAN NADIA DAR MUHAMMAD AMIN ATHAR 2009Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2009,22,6:1
19Succinate-bonded pullulan: An efficient and reusable super-sorbent for cadmium-uptake from spiked high-hardness groundwater显示文摘Chemically modified pullulan was evaluated for its sorption efficiency and selectivity to remove cadmium(Cd) from spiked high-hardness groundwater(GW). Pullulan esterified with succinic anhydride using dimethylaminopyridine showed a fairly high degree of substitution value as confirmed by1 H NMR spectroscopy. Pullulan succinate(Pull-Suc) was converted into the sodium salt(Pull-Suc-Na). The effect of contact time(5–200 min) and p H(2–8) on Cd-uptake by the sorbent(Pull-Suc-Na) was investigated. The sorbent showed more than 90% Cd-removal in first 15 min from distilled water(DW) and GW solution,respectively. Comparison of Pull-Suc-Na with other polysaccharidal sorbents suggested its high efficiency(DW 476.2 mg/g and GW 454.5 mg/g) and selectivity for the removal of Cd by an ion exchange mechanism, which is further supported by the negative Gibbs free energy values calculated from Langmuir isotherms. A Langmuir isotherm kinetic model provided the best fit for the sorption of Cd using Pull-Suc-Na. The sorbent showed a negligible decrease in Cd-uptake over three regeneration cycles.
