2Cirrhosis and its complications:Evidence based treatment显示文摘Cirrhosis results from progressive fibrosis and is the final outcome of all chronic liver disease.It is among the ten leading causes of death in United States.Cirrhosis can result in portal hypertension and/or hepatic dysfunction.Both of these either alone or in combination can lead to many complications,including ascites,varices,hepatic encephalopathy,hepatocellular carcinoma,hepatopulmonary syndrome,and coagulation disorders.Cirrhosis and its complications not only impair quality of life but also decrease survival.Managing patients with cirrhosis can be a challenge and requires an organized and systematic approach.Increasing physicians’knowledge about prevention and treatment of these potential complications is important to improve patient outcomes.A literature search of the published data was performed to provide a comprehensive review regarding the management of cirrhosis and its complications.Salman Nusrat Muhammad S Khan Javid Fazili Mohammad F Madhoun 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,18:14

4Energy optimization in the wake of China Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC)显示文摘The energy crisis has become a significant bottleneck in the country’s economic progress.But to end this age old problem,we have to capitalize on the chance,China Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC)investment provides,to its full potential.This study aims to help Pakistani government in selecting the best set of CPEC energy priority projects to be completed in the first wave of development.The second part of the research guides the small/medium scale industry and business owners to select the best available alternative for tackling the energy shortfall while CPEC projects are in the process of materialization.Forecasting electricity shortfall decrease and its impact on various economic/industrial sectors(like services,industrial,textile and agriculture)is also performed to gauge the effect of CPEC on the economy using linear regression.For decision analysis,the MCDM techniques employed are(AHP)along with(TOPSIS).This research generated a new list of recommended CPEC energy priority projects which are more evenly distributed across the country,catering more,to interest of the country as a whole.We also concluded solar panels to be the best alternative for small scale businesses,as short term solution while CPEC projects are under construction.Yousaf Ali Zaeem Rasheed Noor Muhammad Salman Yousaf 2018Journal of Control and Decision2018,5,2:5

6A framework for stochastic estimation of electric vehicle charging behavior for risk assessment of distribution networks显示文摘Power systems are being transformed to enhance the sustainability.This paper contributes to the knowledge regarding the operational process of future power networks by developing a realistic and stochastic charging model of electric vehicles(EVs).Large-scale integration of EVs into residential distribution networks(RDNs)is an evolving issue of paramount significance for utility operators.Unbalanced voltages prevent effective and reliable operation of RDNs.Diversified EV loads require a stochastic approach to predict EVs charging demand,consequently,a probabilistic model is developed to account several realistic aspects comprising charging time,battery capacity,driving mileage,state-of-charge,traveling frequency,charging power,and time-of-use mechanism under peak and off-peak charging strategies.An attempt is made to examine risks associated with RDNs by applying a stochastic model of EVs charging pattern.The output of EV stochastic model obtained from Monte-Carlo simulations is utilized to evaluate the power quality parameters of RDNs.The equipment capability of RDNs must be evaluated to determine the potential overloads.Performance specifications of RDNs including voltage unbalance factor,voltage behavior,domestic transformer limits and feeder losses are assessed in context to EV charging scenarios with various charging power levels at different penetration levels.Moreover,the impact assessment of EVs on RDNs is found to majorly rely on the type and location of a power network.Salman HABIB Muhammad Mansoor KHAN Farukh ABBAS Muhammad NUMAN Yaqoob ALI Houjun TANG Xuhui YAN 2020Frontiers in Energy2020,14,2:3
7A computational simulation study for techno-economic comparison of conventional and stripping gas methods for natural gas dehydration显示文摘In the present work,the conventional natural gas dehydration method(CDM)and stripping gas method(SGM)are technically and economically analyzed,utilizing Aspen HYSYS and Aspen Process Economic Analyzer(APEA),respectively.To optimize the CDM and SGM,the sensitivities of the water content of dry gas,reboiler duty and raw material loss are analyzed against solvent rate and stripping gas rate.The optimized processes are set to achieve a targeted value of water content in dry gas and analyzed at optimized point.The analysis shows that SGM gives 46%lower TEG feed rate,42%lower reboiler duty and 99.97%pure regenerated TEG.Moreover,economic analysis reveals that SGM has 38%lower annual operating cost compared to CDM.According to results,from both technical and economic point of view,SGM is more feasible for natural gas dehydration compared to CDM.Muhammad Salman Liangliang Zhang Jianfeng Chen 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,9:3
8Primary esophageal tuberculosis mimicking esophageal carcinoma on computed tomography: A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Tuberculosis(TB)has a rare extrapulmonary manifestation known as esophageal tuberculosis,accounting for 0.2%of total TB patients.Esophageal TB typically presents with dysphagia,with retrosternal pain or odynophagia,but generalized symptoms such as low-grade fever,decreased appetite,and weight loss are also observed.Esophageal carcinoma and Crohn’s disease of the esophagus are important differential diagnoses with similar presentation.CASE SUMMARY We present a case of a 25-year-old male,who presented with esophageal TB mimicking an esophageal carcinoma.Lab work-up,Mantoux test,and chest X-ray were normal.Barium-swallow examination showed moderate dilatation of distal esophagus with a nodular and irregular mucosa.Computed tomography showed significant thickening of thoracic and distal esophagus with infiltration into the lesser omentum and large,centrally necrotic lymph nodes on gastro-hepatic ligament suggestive of a possible malignancy.Esophagoscopy was performed and a biopsy of mural thickening was performed and sent for histopathological examination.The histopathology report and TB-polymerase chain reaction confirmed the diagnosis of esophageal TB.The patient was started on antituberculous therapy(ATT),and complete resolution of symptoms and disease was achieved in 6 mo.CONCLUSION Esophageal TB is an extremely rare,yet important differential diagnosis in a patient presenting with dysphagia.Esophageal TB can mimic esophageal carcinoma on computed tomography scan.The patient responded well to a complete course of ATT.Muhammad Salman Khan Muhammad Hassaan Arif Maan Amir Humza Sohail Wasim Ahmed Memon 2019World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery2019,11,9:2
9Physiological and biochemical appraisal for mulching and partial rhizosphere drying of cotton显示文摘Water is the main factor for the healthy life of plant.One of the main negative effects of climate change is the increasing scarcity of water that is lethal for plant.Globally,for water deficit regions(arid and semi-arid),drought is the main factor responsible for low production of agriculture,especially for cotton.Great efforts have been and are being made to find alternatives to water saving practices.This study aimed to examine the effects of partial rhizosphere drying(PRD,half of the root system irrigated at one event,and the other half irrigated in the next event,and so on)with and/or without various mulching treatments on physiological and biochemical traits of cotton.To explore this objective,we laid out experiments in completely randomized design with factorial arrangement in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur,Pakistan in 2016.Two factors included were four mulching treatments(M0,no mulching;M1,black plastic mulching;M2,wheat straw mulching;and M3,cotton sticks mulching)and two irrigation levels(I0,control(full irrigation);and I1,PRD).Fisher's analysis of variance among means of treatments was compared using least significant difference test at 5% probability level.Results revealed that the maximum plant height,leaf area,leaf gas exchange(photosynthetic rate and stomata conductance),chlorophyll,proline and total sugar contents,and enzyme activities were higher under M2 than under other three mulching treatments.As for irrigation levels,higher values of plant height,photosynthesis and water related parameters(leaf water potential,leaf osmotic potential,leaf turgor potential,etc.)were recorded.Contents of total sugar and proline and activities of antioxidant enzymes were significantly higher in PRD-treated plants than in control plants.It was concluded that combined application of PRD and mulching was more effective than the rest of the treatments used in the experiment.Similar study can be conducted in the field by applying irrigation water in alternate rows in semi-arid regions.Rashid IQBAL Muhammad A S RAZA Muhammad F SALEEM Imran H KHAN Salman AHMAD Muhammad S ZAHEER Muhammad U ASLAM Imran HAIDER 2019Journal of Arid Land2019,11,5:2

11Text Sentiment Analysis Using Frequency-Based Vigorous Features显示文摘Sentiment Analysis, an un-abating research area in text mining, requires a computational method for extracting useful information from text. In recent days, social media has become a really rich source to get information about the behavioral state of people(opinion) through reviews and comments. Numerous techniques have been aimed to analyze the sentiment of the text, however, they were unable to come up to the complexity of the sentiments. The complexity requires novel approach for deep analysis of sentiments for more accurate prediction. This research presents a three-step Sentiment Analysis and Prediction(SAP) solution of Text Trend through K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN). At first, sentences are transformed into tokens and stop words are removed. Secondly, polarity of the sentence, paragraph and text is calculated through contributing weighted words, intensity clauses and sentiment shifters. The resulting features extracted in this step played significant role to improve the results. Finally, the trend of the input text has been predicted using KNN classifier based on extracted features. The training and testing of the model has been performed on publically available datasets of twitter and movie reviews. Experiments results illustrated the satisfactory improvement as compared to existing solutions. 13三腔连续负压引流管在感染性坏死性胰腺炎外科治疗中的临床疗效显示文摘目的急性胰腺炎(acute pancreatitis,AP)是一种发病率和病死率均较高的炎症性疾病,部分AP患者会演变为重症急性胰腺炎(severe acute pancreatitis,SAP)。SAP病程后期常伴有感染性胰腺坏死,这类患者病死率极高。感染性坏死性胰腺炎(infected necrotizing pancreatitis,INP)是接受外科治疗的重要指征之一,外科医师对INP干预时机、策略及方式的掌控尤为重要,本研究的目的是探讨三腔连续负压引流这一新技术对于INP患者外科治疗能否带来更好的疗效。方法回顾性分析2009年1月至2019年12月在我院通过增强CT或细针穿刺活检被诊断为INP的60例患者,这些患者均经过14 d标准化的保守治疗但病情未能明显改善。其中30例患者通过植入三腔连续负压引流管接受了外科减压治疗,而另外30例患者延续保守治疗。通过软件分析60例患者的临床资料及其他能够预示临床疗效的指标。结果三腔连续负压引流管的外科减压手术组,患者的病死率显著降低,30例患者中8例死亡(26.7%);保守治疗组出现11例死亡(36.7%),两组患者病死率具有统计学差异(P<0.05)。此外,外科减压组患者的其他病理生理指标,包括腹内压、呼吸功能、肾功能等,较保守治疗组也有显著改善。结论急性INP患者在接受保守治疗14 d后,可以使用三腔连续负压引流管的减压手术,该手术在减少病死率和改善病理生理指标方面具有显著疗效。Muhammad Salman Azhar 孙吉春 聂晚频 李志强 朱红伟 刘云飞 余枭 李霞 2020邵阳学院学报(自然科学版)2020,17,5:2
14Resolvability in Circulant Graphs显示文摘A set W of the vertices of a connected graph G is called a resolving set for G if for every two distinct vertices u, v ∈ V (G) there is a vertex w ∈ W such that d(u, w) ≠ d(v, w). A resolving set of minimum cardinality is called a metric basis for G and the number of vertices in a metric basis is called the metric dimension of G, denoted by dim(G). For a vertex u of G and a subset S of V (G), the distance between u and S is the number min s∈S d(u, s). A k-partition Π = {S 1 , S 2 , . . . , S k } of V (G) is called a resolving partition if for every two distinct vertices u, v ∈ V (G) there is a set S i in Π such that d(u, Si )≠ d(v, Si ). The minimum k for which there is a resolving k-partition of V (G) is called the partition dimension of G, denoted by pd(G). The circulant graph is a graph with vertex set Zn , an additive group of integers modulo n, and two vertices labeled i and j adjacent if and only if i-j (mod n) ∈ C , where CZn has the property that C =-C and 0 ■ C. The circulant graph is denoted by Xn, Δ where Δ = |C|. In this paper, we study the metric dimension of a family of circulant graphs Xn, 3 with connection set C = {1, n/2 , n-1} and prove that dim(Xn, 3 ) is independent of choice of n by showing that dim(Xn, 3 ) ={3 for all n ≡ 0 (mod 4), 4 for all n ≡ 2 (mod 4). 15High Refractive Index Ti3O5 Films for Dielectric Metasurfaces显示文摘Ti_3 O_5 films are deposited with the help of an electron beam evaporator for their applications in metasurfaces.The film of subwavelength(632 nm) thickness is deposited on a silicon substrate and annealed at 400°C. The ellipsometr.y result shows a high refractive index above 2.5 with the minimum absorption coefficient in the visible region, which is necessary for high efficiency of transparent metasurfaces. Atomic force microscopy analysis is employed to measure the roughness of the as-deposited films. It is seen from micrographs that the deposited films are very smooth with the minimum roughness to prevent scattering and absorption losses for metasurface devices. The absence of grains and cracks can be seen by scanning electron microscope analysis, which is favorable for electron beam lithography. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy reveals the transmission and reflection obtained from the film deposited on glass substrates. 16Genetic effects conferring heat tolerance in upland cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.)显示文摘Background:Climate change and particularly global warming has emerged as an alarming threat to the crop productivity of field crops and exerted drastic effects on the cropping patterns.Production of cotton has been dropped down to one million bales from 1.4 million bales since 2015 in Pakistan due to the increase in temperature at critical growth stages,i.e.,flowering and boll formation.Keeping in view the importance of cotton in the country,this study was conducted to investigate the genetic effects conferring heat tolerance in six populations(P1,P2,F1,F2,BC1 and BC2)developed from cross-1 and cross-2,i.e.,VH-282×FH-142 and DNH-40×VH-259.Results:The results revealed that cross-1 performed better in heat stress as compared with cross-2 for majority of the traits recorded.Boll weight and ginning outturn(GO-T)were highly effected under heat stress and had negative correlation with Relative cell injury(RCI).Boll weight,fiber length,fiber strength and fiber fineness were under the control of non-additive gene action,whereas RCI was controlled by additive gene effects.Lower values of genetic advance coupled with higher values of broad sense heritability for these traits except RCI confirmed the role of non-additive genetic effects.Duplicate types of epistasis were recorded for fiber strength in cross-1 in normal condition.However,complementary type of non-allelic interaction was recorded for fiber strength under normal condition,fiber fineness and RCI under heat stressed condition in cross-1.Likewise,boll weight,GOT and fiber length in populations derived from cross-2 in normal condition were also under the influence of complementary type of non-allelic interaction.Significant differences among values of mid parent and better parent heterosis for boll weight in both normal and heat stress condition provided the opportunity to cotton breeders for utilization of this germplasm for improvement of this trait through exploitation of heterosis breeding.Conclusion:Cross-1 performed better in heat stress and could be utilized for development of heat tolerant cultivar.RCI was under the influence of additive gene action,so one can rely on this trait for screening of large number of accessions of cotton for heat stress.While other traits were predominantly controlled by non-additive gene action and selection based on these should be delayed in later generations.SALMAN Muhammad ZIA Zia Ullah RANA Iqrar Ahmad MAQSOOD Rana Haroon AHMAD Saghir BAKHSH Ali AZHAR Muhammad Tehseen 2019Journal of Cotton Research2019,2,1:2

20Impact of temperature on yield and related traits in cotton genotypes显示文摘Cotton growth and development is influenced by various uncontrollable environmental conditions. Temperature variations in the field can be created by planting at different dates. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect of planting dates and thermal temperatures(growing degree days) on yield of 4 cotton genotypes, viz., CIM-598, CIM-599, CIM-602 and Ali Akbar-703. Plants were subjected to 6 planting dates during 2013 and 2014 in a trial conducted in randomized complete block design with four replications. For boll number, boll weight and seed cotton yield, cotton genotypes exhibited significant differences, CIM-599 produced the highest seed cotton yield of 2 062 kg ha^(–1) on account of maximum boll number and boll weight. The highest seed cotton yield was recorded in planting dates from 15 th April to 1st May whereas early and delayed planting reduced the yield due to less accumulation of heat units. Regression analysis revealed that increase of one unit(15 days) from early to optimum date(15th March to 15 th April) increased yield by 93.58 kg ha^(–1). Delay in planting also decreased the seed cotton yield with the same ratio.
