Preparation of reduced sensitivity co-crystals of cyclic nitramines using spray flash evaporation显示文摘The present day weapon technology demands novel energetic materials that exhibit simultaneous high explosive yield and reduced sensitivity. This article demonstrates application of spray evaporation to prepare reduced sensitive co-crystals of high performance nitramine explosives like HMX and CL-20 with a relatively less insensitive explosive 1,1-diamino-2,2-dinitroethylene or FOX-7.Stronger intermolecurar hydrogen bonding in FOX-7 is responsible for limited solubility in nost of o rganic solvents.Large solubility differences of FOX-7 with HMX and CL-20 restricts ifs co-crystallization through classical methods that yields thermodynamically favorable product.Spray flash evaporation,a kinetic crystallization method, has been therefore adopted and could successfully produce CL-20/FOX-7(2:1) and HMX/FQX-7(4:1) co-crystals.The fine powdered materials obtained were characterized by SEM,powder XRD,Raman spectro scopy,DSC-TGA etc.Multipoint Raman spectra showed consistent occurrence of spectral features indicating stoichiometric co-existence of ingredients in the crystal lattices.DSC analysis showed absence of all thermally assisted solidsolid phase transformation in the co-crystals as they were observed in pristine materials. The thermal stability calculated in terms of activation barrier fordecomposition, revealed the CL-20/FOX-7 co-crystal to be interlediately stable on comparison to their constituents while, the HMX/FOX-7 co-crystal is more stable.Compared to pure HMX and CL-20,both the co-crystals have shown higher insensitivity to impact force, suggesting them to be suitable for future generation insensitive munitions.Mrinal Ghosh AKSikder Shaibal Banerjee MBTalawar NSikder 2020Defence Technology(防务技术)2020,16,1:6
Management of gastric variceal bleeding:Role of endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound显示文摘Gastric varices(GVs)are notorious to bleed massively and often difficult to manage with conventional techniques. This mini-review addresses endoscopic management principles for gastric variceal bleeding, including limitations of ligation and sclerotherapy and merits of endoscopic variceal obliteration. The article also discusses how emerging use of endoscopic ultrasound provides optimism of better diagnosis, improved classification, innovative management strategies and confirmatory tool for eradication of GVs.Mohit Girotra Saikiran Raghavapuram Rtika R Abraham Mrinal Pahwa Archna R Pahwa Rayburn F Rego 2014World Journal of Hepatology2014,6,3:6
Numerical modeling of wave equation by a truncated high-order finite-difference method显示文摘Finite-difference methods with high-order accuracy have been utilized to improve the precision of numerical solution for partial differential equations. However, the computation cost generally increases linearly with increased order of accuracy.Upon examination of the finite-difference formulas for the first-order and second-order derivatives, and the staggered finite-difference formulas for the first-order derivative, we examine the variation of finite-difference coefficients with accuracy order and note that there exist some very small coefficients. With the order increasing, the number of these small coefficients increases, however, the values decrease sharply. An error analysis demonstrates that omitting these small coefficients not only maintain approximately the same level of accuracy of finite difference but also reduce computational cost significantly. Moreover, it is easier to truncate for the high-order finite-difference formulas than for the pseudospectral formulas. Thus this study proposes a truncated high-order finite-difference method, and then demonstrates the efficiency and applicability of the method with some numerical examples.Yang Liu Mrinal K. 5Immunological roulette: Luck or something more? Considering the connections between host and environment in TB显示文摘Accurate prediction of which patient will progress from a sub-clinical Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection to active tuberculosis represents an elusive, yet critical, clinical research objective. From the individual perspective, progression can be considered to be the product of a series of unfortunate events or even a run of bad luck. Here,we identify the subtle physiological relationships that can influence the odds of progression to active TB and how this progression may reflect directed dysbiosis in a number of interrelated systems. Most infected individuals who progress to disease have apparently good immune responses, but these responses are,at times, compromised by either local or systemic environmental factors.Obvious disease promoting processes, such as tissue-damaging granulomata, usually manifest in the lung, but illness is systemic. This apparent dichotomy between local and systemic reflects a clear need to define the factors that promote progression to active disease within the context of the body as a physiological whole. We discuss aspects of the host environment that can impact expression of immunity, including the microbiome,glucocorticoid-mediated regulation, catecholamines and interaction between the gut, liver and lung.We suggest the importance of integrating precision medicine into our analyses of experimental outcomes such that apparently conflicting results are not contentious, but rather reflect the impact of these subtle relationships with our environment and microbiota.John E Pearl Mrinal Das Andrea M Cooper 2018Cellular & Molecular Immunology2018,15,3:3
Liver injury in COVID-19:The hepatic aspect of the respiratory syndrome-what we know so far显示文摘The 2019 novel coronavirus disease(COVID-19)pandemic due to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)has posed a serious threat to global public health.Although primarily, the infection causes lung injury, liver enzyme abnormalities have also been reported to occur during the course of the disease. We conducted an extensive literature review using the PubMed database on articles covering a broad range of issues related to COVID-19 and hepatic injury. The present review summarizes available information on the spectrum of liver involvement, the possible mechanisms and risk factors of liver injury due to SARS-CoV-2 infection, and the prognostic significance of the presence of liver injury.Hopefully, this review will enable clinicians, especially the hepatologists,to understand and manage the liver derangements they may encounter in these patients better and provide guidance for further studies on the liver injury of COVID-19.Prajna Anirvan Pankaj Bharali Mrinal Gogoi Paul J Thuluvath Shivaram P Singh Sanjaya K Satapathy 2020World Journal of Hepatology2020,12,12:2
Plant food anti-nutritional factors and their reduction strategies:an overview显示文摘Legumes and cereals contain high amounts of macronutrients and micronutrients but also anti-nutritional factors.Major anti-nutritional factors, which are found in edible crops include saponins, tannins, phytic acid, gossypol, lectins, protease inhibitors, amylase inhibitor, and goitrogens.Anti-nutritional factors combine with nutrients and act as the major concern because of reduced nutrient bioavailability.Various other factors like trypsin inhibitors and phytates, which are present mainly in legumes and cereals, reduce the digestibility of proteins and mineral absorption.Anti-nutrients are one of the key factors, which reduce the bioavailability of various components of the cereals and legumes. These factors can cause micronutrient malnutrition and mineral deficiencies. There are various traditional methods and technologies, which can be used to reduce the levels of these anti-nutrient factors.Several processing techniques and methods such as fermentation, germination, debranning, autoclaving, soaking etc.are used to reduce the anti-nutrient contents in foods.By using various methods alone or in combinations,it is possible to reduce the level of anti-nutrients in foods. This review is focused on different types of anti-nutrients,and possible processing methods that can be used to reduce the level of these factors in food products.Mrinal Samtiya Rotimi E.Aluko Tejpal Dhewa 2020Food Production, Processing and Nutrition2020,2,1:2
Catalyst activation: Surface doping effects of group Ⅵ transition metal dichalcogenides towards hydrogen evolution reaction in acidic media显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D) transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs) have emerged as promising alternatives to the platinum-based catalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER). The edge site of these2D materials exhibits HER-active properties, whereas the large-area basal plane is inactive. Therefore, recent studies and methodologies have been investigated to improve the performance of TMD-based materials by activating inactive sites through elemental doping strategies. In this review,we focus on the metal and non-metal dopant effects on group VI TMDs such as MoS_(2) MoSe_(2) WS_(2)and WSe_(2) for promoting HER performances in acidic electrolytes. A general introduction to the HER is initially provided to explain the parameters in accessing the catalytic performance of dopedTMDs. Then, synthetic methods for doped-TMDs and their HER performances are introduced in order to understand the effect of various dopants including metallic and non-metallic elements. Finally, the current challenges and future opportunities are summarized to provide insights into developing highly active and stable doped-TMD materials and valuable guidelines for engineering TMD-based nanocatalysts for practical water splitting technologies.Bibi Ruqi Mrinal Kanti Kabiraz Jong Wook Hong Sang-Il Choi 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,9:2
Emerging insights into HAUSP (USP7) in physiology, cancerand other diseases显示文摘Herpesvirus-associated ubiquitin-specific protease(HAUSP)is a USP family deubiquitinase.HAUSP is a protein of immense biological importance as it is involved in several cellular processes, including host-virus interactions, oncogenesis and tumor suppression,DNA damage and repair processes,DNA dynamics and epigenetic modulations, regulation of gene expression and protein function,spatio-temporal distribution, and immune functions.Since its discovery in the late 1990s as a protein interacting with a herpes virus regulatory protein, extensive studies have assessed its complex roles in p53-MDM2-related networks, identified numerous additional interacting partners, and elucidated the different roles of HAUSP in the context of cancer, development, and metabolic and neurological pathologies.Recent analyses have provided new insights into its biochemical and functional dynamics. In this review,we provide a comprehensive account of our current knowledge about emerging insights into HAUSP in physiology and diseases, which shed light on fundamental biological questions and promise to provide a potential target for therapeutic intervention.Seemana Bhattacharya Dipankar Chakraborty Malini Basu Mrinal K Ghosh 2018Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2018,3,1:2
