2A novel vector of topological and structural information for amino acids and its QSAR applications for peptides and analogues显示文摘A new descriptor, called vector of topological and structural information for coded and noncoded amino acids (VTSA), was derived by principal component analysis (PCA) from a matrix of 66 topological and structural variables of 134 amino acids. The VTSA vector was then applied into two sets of peptide quantitative structure-activity relationships or quantitative sequence-activity modelings (QSARs/ QSAMs). Molded by genetic partial least squares (GPLS), support vector machine (SVM), and immune neural network (INN), good results were obtained. 3Glutamate synthase 1 is involved in iron-deficiency response and long-distance transportation in Arabidopsis显示文摘Iron is an essential microelement for plant growth.After uptake from the soil,iron is chelated by ligands and translocated from roots to shoots for sub-sequent utilization.However,the number of ligands in-volved in iron chelation is unclear.In this study,we identified and demonstrated that GLU1,which encodes a ferredoxin-dependent glutamate synthase,was involved in iron homeostasis.First,the expression of GLU1 was strongly induced by iron deficiency condition.Second,lesion of GLU1 results in reduced transcription of many iron-deficiency-responsive genes in roots and shoots.The mutant plants revealed a decreased iron concentration in the shoots,and displayed severe leaf chlorosis under the condition of Fe limitation,compared to wild-type.Third,the product of GLU1,glutamate,could chelate iron in vivo and promote iron transportation.Last,we also found that supplementation of glutamate in the medium can alleviate cadmium toxicity in plants.Overall,our results provide evidence that GLU1 is involved in iron homeo-stasis through affecting glutamate synthesis under iron deficiency conditions in Arabidopsis.Man Cui Mengjun Gu Yaru Lu Yue Zhang Chunlin Chen Hong‐Qing Ling Huilan Wu 2020Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2020,62,12:2

5An altered CD8^(+) T cell epitope of insulin prevents type 1 diabetes in humanized NOD mice显示文摘Autoreactive CD8^(+)T cells,which play an indispensable role inβcell destruction,represent an emerging target for the prevention of type 1 diabetes(T1D).Altered peptide ligands(APLs)can efficiently induce antigen-specific T cells anergy,apoptosis or shifts in the immune response.Here,we found that HLA-A*0201-restricted CD8^(+)T cell responses against a primaryβ-cell autoantigen insulin epitope InsB15–14 were present in both NOD.β2m null.HHD NOD mice and T1D patients.We generated several APL candidates for InsB15–14 by residue substitution at the p6 position.Only H6F exhibited an inhibitory effect on mInsB1_(5–14)-specific CD8^(+)T cell responses in vitro.H6F treatment significantly reduced the T1D incidence,which was accompanied by diminished autoreactive CD8^(+)T cell responses to mInsB15-14,inhibited infiltration of CD8^(+)and CD4^(+)T cells in the pancreas and reduced pro-inflammatory cytokine production in pancreatic and splenic T cells in NOD.β2m^(null).HHD mice.Mechanistically,H6F treatment significantly augmented a tiny portion of CD8^(+)CD25^(+)Foxp3^(+)T cells in the spleen and especially in the pancreas.This subset exhibited typical Treg phenotypes and required peptide-specific restimulation to exert immunosuppressive activity.Therefore,this APL H6F may be a promising candidate with potential clinical application value for antigen-specific prevention of T1D.Mengjun Zhang Shufeng Wang Binbin Guo Gang Meng Chi Shu Wenli Mai Qian Zheng Xiaoling Chen Yuzhang Wu Li Wang 2019Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,6:1

10Bidirectional mechanical switching window in ferroelectric thin films predicted by first-principle-based simulations显示文摘Mechanical control of ferroelectric domain evolution has attracted much interest over the past decade.Nevertheless,bidirectional 180°mechanical switching,i.e.,a complete cycle of mechanical writing and then erasing of a ferroelectric nanodomain,has not yet been realized in tip-film architectures.Here,via first-principles-based molecular dynamics simulations,we demonstrate that bidirectional 180°mechanical switching is possible in tip-film architectures when screening condition of ferroelectric films and tip loading force are within an appropriate window.The switching utilizes a delicate competition between the flexoelectric field and an overlooked effective dipolar field.The effective dipolar field dominates at small tip force and trigger switching from a downward single-domain state to an upward poly-domain state,whereas the flexoelectric field dominates at relatively large tip force and enables a back-switching.Bidirectional mechanical switching is achieved by applying tip force pulses with alternatively varying strength.The dipole-dipole interaction dynamics play important roles in mechanical switching.Jianyi Liu Weijin Chen Mengjun Wu Fei Sun Xiang Huang Yue Zheng 2022npj Computational Materials2022,,1:0
11An artificial interphase enables stable PVDF-based solid-state Li metal batteries显示文摘Composite polymer electrolytes(CPEs)have attracted much attention for high energy density solid-state lithium-metal batteries owing to their flexibility,low cost,and easy scale-up.However,the unstable Li/CPE interface is always challengeable for the practical utilization of CPEs.Herein,a polymer interlayer containing K+prepared by ultraviolet(UV)-curing precursor solution is coated on Li surface to stabilize the interface between poly(vinylidene difluoride)(PVDF)composite electrolytes and Li anode.Benefiting from the physical barrier of the interlayer,the continuous decomposition of PVDF is restrained and the intimate contact between electrode and electrolyte is also achieved to reduce the interface impedance.Moreover,the added K+is utilized to further regulate smooth Li deposition.As a consequence,the symmetric Li|Li cell with coated Li demonstrates steady cycling at 0.4 mAh·cm^(-2) and a high critical current density of 1 mA·cm^(-2).The assembled Li|LiFePO_(4) cell presents outstanding cycling stability(capacity retention of 90%after 400 cycles at 1 C)and good rate performance.The associated pouch cell performs impressive flexibility and safety.This work provides a convenient strategy to achieve stable Li/PVDF interface for high-performance PVDF-based solid state Li metal batteries.Mengjun Wu Jiangping Song Jiaheng Lei Haolin Tang 2024Nano Research2024,17,3:0
12A Fluid-Structure Interaction Simulation of Coal and Gas Outbursts Based on the Interaction between the Gas Pressure and Deformation of a Coal-Rock Mass显示文摘Based on the theories of the gas seepage in coal seams and the deformation of the coal-rock medium,the gas seepage field in coal-rock mass is coupled with the deformation field of the coal-rock mass to establish a fluidstructure interaction model for the interaction between coal gas and coal-rock masses.The outburst process in coal-rock masses under the joint action of gas pressure and crustal stress is simulated using the material point method.The simulation results show the changes in gas pressure,velocity distribution,maximum principal stress distribution,and damage distribution during the process of the coal and gas outburst,as well as themovement and accumulation of coal-rock masses after the occurrence of the outburst.It was found that the gas pressure gradient was greatest at theworking face after the occurrence of the outburst,the gas pressures and pressure gradients at each location within the coal seamgradually decreased with time,and the damage distribution was essentially the same as the minimum principal stress distribution.The simulation further revealed that the outburst first occurred in themiddle of the tunnel excavation face and that the speed at which particles of coal mass were ejected was highest at the center and decreased toward the upper and lower sides.The study provides a scientific basis for enhancing our understanding of the mechanism behind coal and gas outbursts,as well as their prevention and control.Lin Fang Mengjun Wu Bin Wu Honglin Li Chenhao He Fan Sun 2022Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2022,,3:0
13Adnexal tumor found during a brain-dead donor organ retrieval:a case report显示文摘Pre-donation evaluation of organ donors is important.Organ quality directly affects both short-and long-term survival rates of transplanted organs and recipients after transplantation.Contraindications to donation are directly related to recipient survival and medical ethics.The following information is included in this organ donation case report:detailed medical history(primary disease and surgical history),blood type,infectious diseases,coagulation function,biochemical function,tumor biomarker,indicators related to tuberculosis infection,microbial culture indicators,lung computed tomography(CT)scan,and abdominal ultrasound(heart,liver,gallbladder,pancreas,spleen,kidneys,ureters,bladder,adnexa).We found a 10 cm×10 cm space-occupying lesion in the abdominal cavity in this donor organ retrieval surgery.Frozen or paraffin sections showed that the space-occupying lesion was malignant.The organ donor was not suitable due to the malignant tumor,and the transplantation surgery was canceled.We analyzed this case of organ donation to provide a reference for the follow-up donation evaluation process.This case study reveals the limitations of preoperative non-invasive assessment,the necessity of preoperative multi-dimensional assessment of organ function,and the exclusion of donation contraindications.Bo Zhang Huibo Shi Jing Xu Xiaoqin Li Mengjun Zeng Ying Tao Xing Wu Jipin Jiang 2022Oncology and Translational Medicine2022,8,6:0
14Recognition for avian influenza virus proteins based on support vector machine and linear discriminant analysis显示文摘Total 200 properties related to structural characteristics were employed to represent structures of 400 HA coded proteins of influenza virus as training samples. Some recognition models for HA proteins of avian influenza virus (AIV) were developed using support vector machine (SVM) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA). The results obtained from LDA are as follows: the identification accuracy (Ria) for training samples is 99.8% and Ria by leave one out cross validation is 99.5%. Both Ria of 99.8% for training samples and Ria of 99.3% by leave one out cross validation are obtained using SVM model, respectively. External 200 HA proteins of influenza virus were used to validate the external predictive power of the resulting model. 15On-site conversion reaction enables ion-conducting surface on red phosphorus/carbon anode for durable and fast sodium-ion batteries显示文摘The practical applications of high-capacity alloy-type anode materials in sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)are challenged by their vast volume effects and resulting unstable electrode-electrolyte interphases during discharge-charge cycling.Taking red phosphorus(P)/carbon anode material as an example,we report an on-site conversion reaction to intentionally eliminate the volume effect-dominated surface P and yield an ionically conducting layer of Na3PS4solid-state electrolyte on the composite.Such a surface reconstruction can significantly suppress the electrode swelling and simultaneously enable the activation energy of interfacial Na+transfer as low as 36.7 k J mol^(-1),resulting in excellent electrode stability and ultrafast reaction kinetics.Consequently,excellent cycling performance(510 mA h g^(-1)at 5 A g^(-1)after 1000 cycles with a tiny capacity fading rate of 0.016%per cycle)and outstanding rate capability(484 mA h g^(-1)at 10 A g^(-1)are achieved in half cells.When coupled with Na_(3)V_(2)(PO4)3cathode,the full cells exhibit 100%capacity retention over 200 cycles at 5C with an average Coulombic efficiency of 99.93%and a high energy density of 125.5 W h kg^(-1)at a power density of 8215.6 W kg^(-1)(charge or discharge within~49 s).Remarkably,the full cell can steadily operate at a high areal capacity of 1.9 mA h cm^(-2),the highest level among red P-based full SIBs ever reported.Jiangping Song Xin Peng Dan Liu Hao Li Mengjun Wu Kan Fang Xinxin Zhu Xinyuan Xiang Haolin Tang 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,5:0

17Leaching Stability of Simulated Waste Forms for Immobilizing An^(3+) by Gd_2Zr_2O_7 with Nd^(3+)显示文摘In order to investigate the anti-leaching capability of pyrochlore Gd2Zr2O7 immobilized An3+, trivalent neodymium was used as the simulacrums for radioactive wastes with trivalence, Gd2-xNdxZr2O7(0.0x 2.0) series samples were successfully synthesized by high temperature solid reaction and using Gd2O3, Zr O2 powders as starting materials. The experiments of long-term chemical stability were conducted in synthetic seawater at 40 and 70 ℃. The XRD diffractive data and extraction ratio of as-received samples were collected with the help of X-ray diffraction(XRD) instrument and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICPMass). The results indicate that the phases of as-received compounds keep the single phase of pyrochlore. The extraction ratio of Gd3+, Zr4+ and Nd3+ in waste forms is increasing with the increase of immersion time in synthetic seawater. The extraction ratio of waste forms at 70 ℃ is higher than at 40 ℃.
