1Broadband achromatic metalens in terahertz regime显示文摘Achromatic focusing is essential for broadband operation, which has recently been realised from visible to infrared wavelengths using a metasurface. Similarly, multi-terahertz functional devices can be encoded in a desired metasurface phase profile. However, metalenses suffer from larger chromatic aberrations because of the intrinsic dispersion of each unit element. Here, we propose an achromatic metalens with C-shaped unit elements working from 0.3 to 0.8 THz with a bandwidth of approximately 91% over the centre frequency. The designed metalens possesses a high working efficiency of more than 68% at the peak and a relatively high numerical aperture of 0.385. We further demonstrate the robustness of our Cshaped metalens, considering lateral shape deformations and deviations in the etching depth. 4B7-H7 (HHLA2) inhibits T-cell activation and proliferation in the presence of TCR and CD28 signaling显示文摘Modulation of T-cell responses has played a key role in treating cancers and autoimmune diseases.Therefore,understanding how different receptors on T cells impact functional outcomes is crucial.The influence of B7-H7(HHLA2)and CD28H(TMIGD2)on T-cell activation remains controversial.Here we examined global transcriptomic changes in human T cells induced by B7-H7.Stimulation through TCR with OKT3 and B7-H7 resulted in modest fold changes in the expression of select genes;however,these fold changes were significantly lower than those induced by OKT3 and B7-1 stimulation.The transcriptional changes induced by OKT3 and B7-H7 were insufficient to provide functional stimulation as measured by evaluating T-cell proliferation and cytokine production.Interestingly,B7-H7 was coinhibitory when simultaneously combined with TCR and CD28 stimulation.This inhibitory activity was comparable to that observed with PD-L1.Finally,in physiological assays using T cells and APCs,blockade of B7-H7 enhanced T-cell activation and proliferation,demonstrating that this ligand acts as a break signal.Our work defines that the transcriptomic changes induced by B7-H7 are insufficient to support full costimulation with TCR signaling and,instead,B7-H7 inhibits T-cell activation and proliferation in the presence of TCR and CD28 signaling.Sadiye Amcaoglu Rieder Jingya Wang Natalie White Ariful Qadri Catherine Menard Geoffrey Stephens Jodi LKarnell Christopher ERudd Roland Kolbeck 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,6:9
5A Ka-band Solid-state Transmitter Cloud Radar and Data Merging Algorithm for Its Measurements显示文摘This study concerns a Ka-band solid-state transmitter cloud radar, made in China, which can operate in three different work modes, with different pulse widths, and coherent and incoherent integration numbers, to meet the requirements for cloud remote sensing over the Tibetan Plateau. Specifically, the design of the three operational modes of the radar(i.e., boundary mode M1, cirrus mode M2, and precipitation mode M3) is introduced. Also, a cloud radar data merging algorithm for the three modes is proposed. Using one month's continuous measurements during summertime at Naqu on the Tibetan Plateau,we analyzed the consistency between the cloud radar measurements of the three modes. The number of occurrences of radar detections of hydrometeors and the percentage contributions of the different modes' data to the merged data were estimated.The performance of the merging algorithm was evaluated. The results indicated that the minimum detectable reflectivity for each mode was consistent with theoretical results. Merged data provided measurements with a minimum reflectivity of -35 dBZ at the height of 5 km, and obtained information above the height of 0.2 km. Measurements of radial velocity by the three operational modes agreed very well, and systematic errors in measurements of reflectivity were less than 2 dB. However,large discrepancies existed in the measurements of the linear depolarization ratio taken from the different operational modes.The percentage of radar detections of hydrometeors in mid- and high-level clouds increased by 60% through application of pulse compression techniques. 6A newly Found Biotite Syenogranite in the Huangshaping Polymetallic Deposit, South China: Insights into Cu Mineralization显示文摘The W-Sn-Mo-Cu-Pb-Zn polymetallic mineralization in the Huangshaping Deposit is associated with different types of Jurassic granitic intrusions such as quartz porphyry, granophyre and granite porphyry. In this study, we carried out detailed mineralogical, petrological, geochemical, zircon U-Pb geochronological and Hf isotopic studies on a newly found, Cu-mineralization-related finegrained biotite syenogranite at Huangshaping. This syenogranite is mainly composed of quartz(40%), K-feldspar(30%), plagioclase(15%) and biotite(5%), enriching in SiO_2(75.58 wt.%–76.02 wt.%), K_2O(5.24 wt.%–5.78 wt.%), Al_2O_3(12.23 wt.%–12.46 wt.%), Rb(405 ppm–504 ppm), U(18.5 ppm–40.7 ppm), Th(47 ppm–52.3 ppm), Nb(49.6 ppm–57.5 ppm), and Cu(54 ppm–288 ppm) whereas depleting in P_2O_5(0.01 wt.%), TiO_2(0.05 wt.%–0.06 wt.%), Ba(5 ppm–13.1 ppm), Sr(6.8 ppm–23.9 ppm) and Eu(0.04 ppm–0.05 ppm), with A1-type alkaline granite characteristics. Magmatic and hydrothermal zircons were separated from a Cu-mineralized syenogranite sample and yielded the 206 Pb/238 U concordant ages of 156.5±1.8 and 154.4±2.9 Ma, representing the intrusive age of the pluton and probable Cu-mineralization time at the Huangshaping Deposit, respectively. Zircon Hf isotopes suggest a crust-derived(partial melting of Paleoproterozoic basement) magma for the syenogranite, with some degree of crust-mantle interaction. 7Lipid analysis of three special nervonic acid resources in China显示文摘Nervonic acid plays an important role in nutrition and function of the human body.Malania oleifera,Acer truncatum and Xanthoceras sorbifolium are China’s unique woody plant rich in nervonic acid in seed oil.This study aims to investigate the lipid composition of these 3 special resources.Their fatty acids were detected by gas chromatography coupled with flame detector(GC-FID).Triglycerides(TAGs)and phospholipids(PLs)were detected by shotgun-mass spectrometry(shotgun-MS).Results showed that M.oleifera oil presented the highest level of nervonic acid(46.20±0.22%)among the 3 oils.Seeds oil of A.truncatum and X.sorbifolium had 3.53±0.20%and 1.83±0.21%nervonic acid respectively.53 species of TAGs and 15 species of PLs were identified in M.oleifera oil,with PLs content of 499.94±22.34μg/g.In A.truncatum oil,PL and TAG species were twice more than those in M.oleifera oil,and its’content of PLs was 76.27±3.21μg/g.In X.sorbifolium oil,75 TAGs and 34 PLs were detected,with the lowest PLs at 23.84±0.17μg/g.The results demonstrated that these 3 vegetable oils have great potential to become nervonic acid supplements for human health.Xinghao Tu Jingya Wan Ya Xie Fang Wei Siewyoung Quek Xin Lv Liqing Du Hong Chen 2020Oil Crop Science2020,5,4:7

10Chromopeptide A, a highly cytotoxic depsipeptide from the marine sediment-derived bacterium Chromobacterium sp. HS-13-94显示文摘A bicyclic depsipeptide, chromopeptide A(1), was isolated from a deep-sea-derived bacterium Chromobacterium sp. HS-13-94. Its structure was determined by extensive spectroscopic analysis and by comparison with a related known compound. The absolute configuration of chromopeptide A was established by X-ray diffraction analysis employing graphite monochromated Mo K_α radiation(λ ? 0.71073 ?) with small Flack parameter 0.03. 11Multicell power allocation method based on game theory for inter-cell interference coordination显示文摘As a new technology, coordinated multipoint (CoMP) transmission is included in LTE-Advanced study item. Moreover, the network architecture in LTE-Advanced system is modified to take into account coordinated transmission. Under this background, a novel power allocation game model is established to mitigate inter-cell interference with cellular coordination. In the light of cellular cooperation relationship and centralized control in eNodeB, the power allocation in each served antenna unit aims to make signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) balanced among inter-cells. Through the proposed power allocation game algorithm, the users' SINR can reach the Nash equilibrium, making it feasible to reduce the co-frequency interference by decreasing the transmitted power. Numerical results show that the proposed power allocation algorithm improves the throughput both in cell-center and cell-edge. 13Enhancing the expansion of a plasma shockwave by crater-induced laser refocusing in femtosecond laser ablation of fused silica显示文摘The dynamics of plasma and shockwave expansion during two femtosecond laser pulse ablation of fused silica are studied using a time-resolved shadowgraph imaging technique. The experimental results reveal that during the second pulse irradiation on the crater induced by the first pulse, the expansion of the plasma and shockwave is enhanced in the longitudinal direction. The plasma model and Fresnel diffraction theory are combined to calculate the laser intensity distribution by considering the change in surface morphology and transient material properties. The theoretical results show that after the free electron density induced by the rising edge of the pulse reaches the critical density, the originally transparent surface is transformed into a transient high-reflectivity surface(metallic state). Thus, the crater with a concave-lens-like morphology can tremendously reflect and refocus the latter part of the laser pulse, leading to a strong laser field with an intensity even higher than the incident intensity. This strong refocused laser pulse results in a stronger laser-induced air breakdown and enhances the subsequent expansion of the plasma and shockwave. 14The five major autoimmune diseases increase the risk of cancer:epidemiological data froma large-scale cohort study in China显示文摘Background:Cancer incidence and mortality have received critical attention during the long-term management of morbidities in patients with autoimmune diseases(AIDs).This study aimed to investigate and compare the risk of cancer associated with five major AIDs in a large-scale Chinese cohort.Methods:A total of 8,120 AID patients consecutively admitted to a national tertiary referral center in China were included and followed-up for 38,726.55 patient-years,including those with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE),rheumatoid arthritis(RA),Sjoren’s syndrome(SS),systemic scleroderma(SSc),and idiopathic inflammatory myositis(IIM).Demographic data,cancer incidence,predilecting sites and cancer onset time were recorded and compared among the five AIDs.Results:Four hundred and thirty(5.3%)patients developed cancer.Their median agewas 57.5 years and AID durationwas 79.8 months.The estimated total standardized incidence ratio(SIR)of cancer in AIDs patients was 3.37,with the highest SIR observed in IIM(4.31),followed by RA(3.99),SSc(3.77),SS(2.88)and SLE(2.58).The increased SIR of cancers in AID patients showed a female predominance(female vs.male:3.59 vs.2.77)and younger patient involvement(age<50 vs.≥50 years:4.88 vs.3.04).Patientswith SLE had increased SIRs for developing hematologic malignancies and solid tumors located in the urinary bladder,corpus uteri and cervix uteri.Patients with SS had a significantly high SIR for developing non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.Within 3 years of IIM diagnosis,74.6%of the patients developed cancer and they had a high risk of ovarian cancer.RA was associated with a wide distribution of scancers,including non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma,gynecologic,urinary tract,thyroid gland and lung cancers.SSc patients had increased SIRs for developing cervical uterine,lung,and breast cancers.Conclusion:Patients with five major AIDs in China had an increased risk of developing cancer,with a predominance in women and younger patients,although cancer incidence,predilection sites and cancer onset time may vary greatly in each AID entity.Ziyue Zhou Huazhen Liu Yiying Yang Jingya Zhou Lidan Zhao Hua Chen Yunyun Fei Wen Zhang Mengtao Li Yan Zhao Xiaofeng Zeng Fengchun Zhang Huaxia Yang Xuan Zhang 2022Cancer Communications2022,42,5:4

16DMP1 prevents osteocyte alterations,FGF23 elevation and left ventricular hypertrophy in mice with chronic kidney disease显示文摘During chronic kidney disease (CKD),alterations in bone and mineral metabolism include increased production of the hormone fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) that may contribute to cardiovascular mortality.The osteocyte protein dentin matrix protein 1 (DMP1) reduces FGF23 and enhances bone mineralization,but its effects in CKD are unknown.We tested the hypothesis that DMP1 supplementation in CKD would improve bone health,prevent FGF23 elevations and minimize consequent adverse cardiovascular outcomes.We investigated DMP1 regulation and effects in wild-type (WT) mice and the Col4a3^-/- mouse model of CKD.Col4a3^-/- mice demonstrated impaired kidney function,reduced bone DMP1 expression,reduced bone mass,altered osteocyte morphology and connectivity,increased osteocyte apoptosis,increased serum FGF23,hyperphosphatemia,left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH),and reduced survival.Genetic or pharmacological supplementation of DMP1 in Col4a3^-/- mice prevented osteocyte apoptosis,preserved osteocyte networks,corrected bone mass,partially lowered FGF23 levels by attenuating NFAT-induced FGF23 transcription,and further increased serum phosphate.Despite impaired kidney function and worsened hyperphosphatemia,DMP1 prevented development of LVH and improved Col4a3^-/- survival.Our data suggest that CKD reduces DMP1 expression,whereas its restoration represents a potential therapeutic approach to lower FGF23 and improve bone and cardiac health in CKD.Corey Dussold Claire Gerber Samantha White Xueyan Wang Lixin Qi Connor Francis Maralee Capella Guillaume Courbon Jingya Wang Chaoyuan Li Jian Q. 17Predicting the Dynamic Behavior of Asphalt Concrete Using Three-dimensional Discrete Element Method显示文摘A user-defined three-dimensional(3D)discrete element model was presented to predict the dynamic modulus and phase angle of asphalt concrete(AC).The 3D discrete element method(DEM)model of AC was constructed employing a user-defined computer program developed using the 'Fish' language in PFC3D.Important microstructural features of AC were modeled,including aggregate gradation,air voids and mastic.The irregular shape of aggregate particle was modeled using a clump of spheres.The developed model was validated through comparing with experimental measurements and then used to simulate the cyclic uniaxial compression test,based on which the dynamic modulus and phase angle were calculated from the output stress-strain relationship.The effects of air void content,aggregate stiffness and volumetric fraction on AC modulus were further investigated.The experimental results show that the 3D DEM model is able to accurately predict both dynamic modulus and phase angle of AC across a range of temperature and loading frequencies.The user-defined 3D model also demonstrated significant improvement over the general existing two-dimensional models.陈俊 PAN Tongyan CHEN Jingya HUANG Xiaoming LU Yang 2012Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2012,27,2:4
18Ultrafast optical response and ablation mechanisms of molybdenum disulfide under intense femtosecond laser irradiation显示文摘Numerous valuable studies on electron dynamics have focussed on the extraordinary properties of molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2));however,most of them were confined to the level below the damage threshold.Here the electron dynamics of MoS_(2) under intense ultrafast laser irradiation was investigated by experiments and simulations.Two kinds of ablation mechanisms were revealed,which led to two distinct types of electron dynamics and final ablation morphology.At a higher fluence,the emergence of superheated liquid induced a dramatic change in the transient reflectivity and micro-honeycomb structures.At a lower fluence,the material was just removed by sublimation,and the ablation structure was relatively flat.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic(XPS)measurements demonstrated that thermal decomposition only occurred at the higher fluence.Furthermore,a theoretical model was developed to deeply reveal the ultrafast dynamics of MoS_(2) ablation.The simulation results were in good agreement with the temporal and spatial reflectivity distribution obtained from the experiment.The electron and lattice temperature evolution was also obtained to prove the ablation mechanism.Our results revealed ultrafast dynamics of MoS_(2) above the damage threshold and are helpful for understanding the interaction mechanism between MoS_(2) and intense ultrafast lasers,as well as for MoS_(2) processing applications.Changji Pan Lan Jiang Jingya Sun Qingsong Wang Feifei Wang Kai Wang Yongfeng Lu Yeliang Wang Liangti Qu Tianhong Cui 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:4
19Metasurfaces for manipulating terahertz waves显示文摘Terahertz(THz)science and technology have attracted significant attention based on their unique applications in non-destructive imaging,communications,spectroscopic detection,and sensing.However,traditional THz devices must be sufficiently thick to realise the desired wave-manipulating functions,which has hindered the development of THz integrated systems and applications.Metasurfaces,which are two-dimensional metamaterials consisting of predesigned meta-atoms,can accurately tailor the amplitudes,phases,and polarisations of electromagnetic waves at subwavelength resolutions,meaning they can provide a flexible platform for designing ultra-compact and high-performance THz components.This review focuses on recent advancements in metasurfaces for the wavefront manipulation of THz waves,including the planar metalens,holograms,arbitrary polarisation control,special beam generation,and active metasurface devices.Such ultra-compact devices with unique functionality make metasurface devices very attractive for applications such as imaging,encryption,information modulation,and THz communications.This progress report aims to highlight some novel approaches for designing ultra-compact THz devices and broaden the applications of metasurfaces in THz science.Xiaofei Zang Bingshuang Yao Lin Chen Jingya Xie Xuguang Guo Alexei VBalakin Alexander P.Shkurinov Songlin Zhuang 2021Light(Advanced Manufacturing)2021,2,2:4
20Roles of lipoprotein receptors in the entry of hepatitis C virus显示文摘Infection by hepatitis C virus(HCV), a plus-stranded RNA virus that can cause cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma, is one of the major health problems in the world. HCV infection is considered as a multistep complex process and correlated with abnormal metabolism of lipoprotein. In addition, virus attacks hepatocytes by the initial attaching viral envelop glycoprotein E1/E2 to receptors of lipoproteins on host cells. With the development of HCV model system, mechanisms of HCV cell entry through lipoprotein uptake and its receptor have been extensively studied in detail.
