| 1 | Endogenous level of TIGAR in brain is associated with vulnerability of neurons to ischemic injury显示文摘In previous studies,we showed that TP53-induced glycolysis and apoptosis regulator(TIGAR) protects neurons against ischemic brain injury.In the present study,we investigated the developmental changes of TIGAR level in mouse brain and the correlation of TIGAR expression with the vulnerability of neurons to ischemic injury.We found that the TIGAR level was high in the embryonic stage,dropped at birth,partially recovered in the early postnatal period,and then continued to decline to a lower level in early adult and aged mice.The TIGAR expression was higher after ischemia/reperfusion in mouse brain 8and 12 weeks after birth.Four-week-old mice had smaller infarct volumes,lower neurological scores,and lower mortality rates after ischemia than 8- and12-week-old mice.TIGAR expression also increased in response to oxygen glucose deprivation(OGD)/reoxygenation insult or H_2O_2 treatment in cultured primary neurons from different embryonic stages(E16 and E20).The neurons cultured from the early embryonic period had a greater resistance to OGD and oxidative insult.Higher TIGAR levels correlated with higher pentose phosphate pathway activity and less oxidative stress.Older mice and more mature neurons had more severe DNA and mitochondrial damage than younger mice and less mature neurons in response to ischemia/reperfusion or OGD/reoxygenation insult.Supplementation of cultured neurons with nicotinamide adenine dinuclectide phosphate(NADPH) significantly reduced ischemic injury.These results suggest that TIGAR expression changes during development and its expression level may be correlated with the vulnerability of neurons to ischemic injury. | Lijuan Cao Jieyu Chen Mei Li Yuan-Yuan Qin Meiling Sun Rui Sheng Feng Han Guanghui Wang Zheng-Hong Qin | 2015 | Neuroscience Bulletin2015,31,5: | 6 |
| 2 | Latent fingerprint enhancement on conductive substrates using electrodeposition of copper显示文摘We presented a novel method for the development of a latent fingerprint by selective electrodeposition of a copper thin film from sulfate solution onto the conductive substrate between fingerprint ridges to generate a negative image of the fingerprint deposit. After optimizing the parameters(deposition time, deposition potential, and copper concentration), the preferential electrodeposition of copper films allowed latent fingerprints on six kinds of conductive surfaces(indium/tin oxide-coated glass, silver sheet, platinum sheet, gold sheet, copper sheet, and a stainless steel coin) to be successfully developed with high resolution. In addition, this technique could also be exploited to visualize latent fingerprints on rough and dirty surfaces. | 3 | Genetic Analysis and Mapping of the Purple Gene in Purple Heading Chinese Cabbage显示文摘To analyze genetic linkage and map purple gene(Br Pur) controlling purple inner leaves trait of Chinese cabbage, a F2 population was constructed by selfing a F1 plant from homozygous purple heading line ‘14S839' and homozygous orange heading line ‘14S162'. The phenotype investigation of head color showed that the segregation ratio of purple to non-purple individuals was consistent with the expected ratio of 3:1,which indicated that purple inner leaves trait is controlled by a single dominant gene. A total of 297 SSRs in whole genome of Chinese cabbage were tested by modified Bulked Segregant Analysis(BSA) method. Two linked markers flanking Br Pur, A710 and A714, were obtained and Br Pur was mapped on linkage group A07 based on the sequence of these two markers. Subsequently, two new markers flanking Br Pur, CL-12 and B214-87, were developed based on two known anthocyanins-related genes, Br4CL3 and Bra004214. | 8 | Neurodegeneration-associated FUS is a novel regulator of circadian gene expression显示文摘Background:Circadian rhythms are oscillating physiological and behavioral changes governed by an internal molecular clock,and dysfunctions in circadian rhythms have been associated with ageing and various neurodegenerative diseases.However,the evidence directly connecting the neurodegeneration-associated proteins to circadian control at the molecular level remains sparse.Methods:Using meta-analysis,synchronized animals and cell lines,cells and tissues from FUS R521C knock-in rats,we examined the role of FUS in circadian gene expression regulation.Results:We found that FUS,an oscillating expressed nuclear protein implicated in the pathogenesis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)and frontotemporal dementia(FTD),exerted a novel feedback route to regulate circadian gene expression.Nr1d1-encoded core circadian protein REV-ERBαbound the Fus promoter and regulated the expression of Fus.Meanwhile,FUS was in the same complex as PER/CRY,and repressed the expression of E box-containing core circadian genes,such as Per2,by mediating the promoter occupancy of PSF-HDAC1.Remarkably,a common pathogenic mutant FUS(R521C)showed increased binding to PSF,and caused decreased expression of Per2.Conclusions:Therefore,we have demonstrated FUS as a modulator of circadian gene expression,and provided novel mechanistic insights into the mutual influence between circadian control and neurodegeneration-associated proteins. | Xin Jiang Tao Zhang Haifang Wang Tao Wang Meiling Qin Puhua Bao Ruiqi Wang Yuwei Liu Hung-Chun Chang Jun Yan Jin Xu | 2018 | Translational Neurodegeneration2018,7,1: | 1 |

| 13 | Effect of hydrogen impurities on hydrogen oxidation activity of Pt/C catalyst in proton exchange membrane fuel cells显示文摘High-purity of hydrogen is vital to the guarantee of end usage in proton exchange membrane fuel cell(PEMFC)electric vehicles(EVs)with superior durability and low expense.However,the currently employed hydrogen,primarily from fossil fuel,still contains some poisoning impurities that significantly affect the durability of PEMFCs.Here,we investigate the poisoning effect of several typical hydrogen impurities(S^(2-),Cl^(-),HCOO^(-)and CO_(3)^(2-))on the hydrogen oxidation reaction(HOR)of the state-of-the-art carbon-supported platinum(Pt/C)catalyst used in the PEMFC anode.Electrochemical results indicate that the electrochemically active surface area of Pt/C is hampered by these hydrogen impurities with reduced effective Pt reactive sites due to the competitive adsorption against hydrogen at Pt sites showing the extent of the poisoning on Pt sites in the order:S^(2-)>Cl^(-)>HCOO^(-)>CO_(3)^(2-).Density functional theory calculations reveal that the adsorption energy of S2-on Pt(111)is greater than that of Cl^(-),HCOO^(-)and CO_(2),and the electronic structure of Pt is found to be changed due to the adsorption of impurities showing the downshift of the d-band centre of Pt that weakens the adsorption of hydrogen on the Pt sites.This work provides valuable guidance for future optimization of hydrogen quality and also emphasizes the importance of anti-poisoning anode catalyst development,especially towards H_(2)S impurities that seriously affect the durability of PEMFCs. | Yufeng Qin Chaoyong Sun Shaojie Ke Rou Wen Yifan Wang Jing Ji Meiling Dou | 2023 | Clean Energy2023,7,1: | 0 |

| 17 | Comparative Analysis of Two Heavy Snow Processes Based on Doppler Radar Radial Velocity显示文摘By using the data of synoptic charts and Datong Doppler radar data,two heavy snow processes in Datong during November 9-10,2009 and on March 14,2010 were analyzed. The results show that surface current,occluded fronts,high-altitude and low-altitude jet stream were main reasons for the heavy snow processes. Zero velocity curves were like ' S' at elevations of 0. 5,1. 5 and 2. 4°,and there were a pair of ' bull's-eye' structure,showing that heavy snow would occur.
