| 1 | Genotyping by sequencing reveals lack of local genetic structure between two German Ips typographus L.populations显示文摘The European spruce bark beetle(Ips typographus L.)is a serious pest in Norway spruce stands.While usually attacking freshly fallen trees or trees with a reduced defense system,also healthy trees can be infested during massive outbreaks of I.typographus that can occur after catastrophic events such as drought periods or storms.Knowledge of the genetic structure of this species,especially on local scales is still ambiguous.While local population structure was reported in some studies,others did not detect any differentiation among I.typographus populations.Here,we used genotyping by sequencing to infer the genetic structure of two I.typographus populations in western Germany,which had a distance of approx.58 km from each other.Based on 16,830 SNPs we detected high genetic diversity,but very low genetic differentiation between the populations(F_(ST):0.001)and a lack of population structure.These results suggest a high dispersal ability of I.typographus. | Markus Müller Mathias Niesar Ignaz Berens Oliver Gailing | 2022 | Forestry Research2022,2,1: | 0 |

| 6 | Three-Point Bending Test and Crack Detection by Acoustic Emission on Different Spring Steel Wires with Different Crystallographic Textures显示文摘In the production of compression springs,high forming velocities and grades of deformation during winding and setting may induce cracks that can lead to failure causing risks of an accident and damage.The AE(acoustic emission)technology,a non-destructive monitoring method,can detect acoustic signals reflected from cracks.To establish this method in the production of technical springs,it was necessary,to find out whether the AE signal is influenced by material properties,phase fractions distribution from tempered martensite,retained austenite,and microstructure including crystallographic texture.In addition,it was investigated to what extent the detected AE signal can be useful to separate between an actual crack and other material responses.Within an in-situ three-point bending test with the AE technology,macro-and micro-crack-typical AE signals were detected for five different spring steel wires(SH,VDSiCr,and FDSiCr according to EN-10270-1 and EN-10270-2).The relative energy related to the initiation,propagation,and growth of cracks caused by mechanical stress was measured using a piezoelectric sensor.If a crack AE signal appeared for the first time,the bending tests were stopped immediately.The results show that the frequency spectrum combined with the intensity of the acoustic signals generated during crack growth depends on the material properties and the crystallographic texture.Furthermore,it could be shown that it is possible to differentiate between micro-crack-typical AE signals and other signals that result from different material responses. | Mathias Lorenz Mohammed Salih Daniela Schwerdt Nowfal Al-Hamdany Emad Maawad Norbert Schell Eckehard Müller | 2023 | 材料科学与工程(中英文A版)2023,13,3: | 0 |

| 14 | Integrating Culture-based Antibiotic Resistance Profiles with Whole-genome Sequencing Data for 11,087 Clinical Isolates显示文摘Emerging antibiotic resistance is a major global health threat. The analysis of nucleic acid sequences linked to susceptibility phenotypes facilitates the study of genetic antibiotic resistance determinants to inform molecular diagnostics and drug development. We collected genetic data (11,087 newly-sequenced whole genomes) and culture-based resistance profiles (10,991 out of the 11,087 isolates comprehensively tested against 22 antibiotics in total) of clinical isolates including 18 main species spanning a time period of 30 years. Species and drug specific resistance patterns were observed including increased resistance rates for Acinetobacter baumannii to carbapenems and for Escherichia coli to fluoroquinolones. Species-level pan-genomes were constructed to reflect the genetic repertoire of the respective species,including conserved essential genes and known resis-tance factors. Integrating phenotypes and genotypes through species-level pan-genomes allowed to infer gene–drug resistance associations using statistical testing.
