2Effect of Phopshate Fertilizer and Manure on Crop Yield, Soil P Accumulation, and the Environmental Risk Assessment显示文摘Phosphorus (P) applied from fertilizer and manure is important in increasing crop yield and soil fertility; however, excessive uses of phosphate fertilizer and manure may also increase P loss from agricultural soils, posing environmental impact. A long term experiment was conducted on a calcareous soil (meadow cinnamon) in Hebei Province, China, from 2003 to 2006 to investigate the effects of phosphate fertilizer and manure on the yield of Chinese cabbage, soil P accumulation, P sorption saturation, soluble P in runoff water, and P leaching. P fertilizer (P2O5) application at a rate of 360 kg ha-1 or manure of 150 t ha-1 significantly increased Chinese cabbage yield as compared to the unfertilized control. However, no significant yield response was found with excessive phosphate or manure application. Soil Olsen-P, soluble P, bioavailable P, the degree of phosphorus sorption saturation in top soil layer (0-20 cm), and soluble P in runoff water increased significantly with the increase of phosphate fertilizer and manure application rates, whereas the maximum phosphorus sorption capacity (Qm) decreased with the phosphate fertilizer and manure application rates. Soil Olsen-P and soluble P also increased significantly in the sub soil layer (20-40 cm) with the high P fertilizer and manure rates. 3Antioxidant and Anti-inflammatory Capacity of Ferulic Acid Released from Wheat Bran by Solid-state Fermentation of Aspergillus niger显示文摘Objective A strain of Aspergillus niger(A. niger), capable of releasing bound phenolic acids from wheat bran, was isolated. This strain was identified by gene sequence identification. The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory capacity of ferulic acid released from wheat bran by this A. niger strain(FA-WB) were evaluated. Methods Molecular identification techniques based on PCR analysis of specific genomic sequences were conducted; antioxidant ability was examined using oxygen radical absorbance capacity(ORAC), cellular antioxidant activity(CAA) assays, and erythrocyte hemolysis assays. RAW264.7 cells were used as a model to detect anti-inflammatory activity. Results The filamentous fungal isolate was identified to be A. niger. ORAC and CAA assay showed that FA-WB had better antioxidant activity than that of the ferulic acid standard. The erythrocyte hemolysis assay results suggested that FA-WB could attenuate AAPH-induced oxidative stress through inhibition of reactive oxy gen species(ROS) generation. FA-WB could significantly restore the AAPH-induced increase in intracellular antioxidant enzyme activities to normal levels as well as inhibit the intracellular malondialdehyde formation. TNF-?, IL-6, and NO levels indicated that FA-WB can inhibit the inflammation induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS). 5Application of ultrasound in aggressive angiomyxoma: Eight case reports and review of literature显示文摘Aggressive angiomyxoma(AAM) is a rare tumour that often occurs in soft tissues of the female genital tract. Eight cases of AAM are reported in this article,and the clinical features and ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) results of the eight cases are reviewed and summarized. The main complaints of all the patients were palpable and painless masses in the vulva or scrotum. The lesions were mainly located in the vulva, pelvis, and perineal region, with a large scope of involvement. The sonographic features of AAM were characteristic. On sonography, all of the masses were of irregular shape and showed hypoechogenicity,with a heterogeneous inner echotexture. Intratumoural and peritumoural blood flows were detected by colour Doppler imaging. On real-time ultrasonic imaging,prominent deformation of the lesions was observed by compressing the masses with the probe. Some special imaging features were also revealed, including a laminated or swirled appearance of inner echogenicity,and a finger-like or tongue-like growth pattern. On MRI imaging, the lesions showed intermediate-intensity signals and intermediate to high-intensity signals on TI-weighted and T2-weighted sequences. A rapid and uneven enhancement pattern was demonstrated.After the comparison of sonographic features with MRIand pathological findings, we found the relevance of the ultrasonographic characteristics with MRI and histological features of AAM. 6Impacts of Types and Degree of Obesity on Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and Related Dyslipidemia in Chinese School-Age Children?显示文摘Objective To explore the impacts of types and degree of obesity on non‐alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and related lipids disturbance in Chinese school‐age children. Methods A total of 1 452 school‐age Children of 7 to 17 years were recruited in Beijing with representative cluster sampling method. Data of anthropometric measurements including weight, height and waist circumference were collected from March to May of 2007. Body mass index(BMI)was calculated. Blood samples were obtained and lipid profiles including triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), high‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL‐C) and low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL‐C) were measured, while glutamate‐pyruvate transaminase (ALT) and glutamic‐oxalacetic transaminase (AST) were determined to evaluate liver function. The liver was also scanned by sonography, and abnormal hepatic sonograms were documented. NAFLD was diagnosed according to the criteria recommended by the Fatty Liver and Alcoholic Liver Disease Study Group under the Chinese Liver Disease Association. Analysis of covariance (ANOVA), Chi‐square test for trend and binary logistic regression analysis were performed. Results The dyslipidemia and ultrasonographic fatty liver deteriorated with the degree of obesity defined either by BMI or waist circumference. Compared with BMI, waist circumference contributed more to the development of dyslipidemia, fatty liver and NAFLD. The highest levels of TG, TC, LDL‐C, and lowest level of HDL‐C were seen in the mixed obese group followed by abdominal obese, peripheral obese and non‐obese ones. Adjusted for gender and age, the odds ratios (ORs) and their 95% confidence intervals of peripheral obesity, abdominal obesity and mixed obesity were 0, 10.93 (0.98‐121.96) and 79.16 (10.95‐572.44) for predicting NAFLD; 12.61 (1.24‐127.78), 19.39 (5.23‐71.85), and 93.21 (29.56‐293.90) for predicting ultrasonographic fatty liver; 1.78 (0.59‐5.44), 3.01 (1.91‐4.77), and 4.64 (3.52‐6.12) for predicting dyslipidemia, respectively compared with the non‐obese control group. The trend of hazards over groups was statistically significant (P<0.01). Conclusion The levels of lipid profile and the prevalence of NAFLD and dyslipidemia increased in parallel with the degree of obesity; As compared with the non‐obese control, the mixed obesity had the strongest association with NAFLD and dyslipidemia, followed by abdominal obesity and peripheral obesity in Chinese school‐age Children.MENG LingHui LUO Na MI Jie 2011Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011,24,1:13
7Serum Uric Acid is Associated with the Predicted Risk of Prevalent Cardiovascular Disease in a Community-dwelling Population without Diabetes显示文摘Objective To examine the association between serum uric acid levels and cardiovascular disease risk among individuals without diabetes. Methods We investigated the association between serum uric acid levels and the risk of prevalent cardiometabolic diseases, 10-year Framingham risk for coronary heart disease, and 10-year risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases(ASCVD) among 8,252 participants aged ≥ 40 years without diabetes from Jiading district, Shanghai, China. Results Body mass index, waist circumference, blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin, blood pressure, and serum lipids increased progressively across the sex-specific quartiles of uric acid(all P trend < 0.05). Compared with individuals in the lowest quartile, those in the higher quartiles had a significantly higher prevalence of obesity, hypertension, and dyslipidemia(all P trend < 0.05). A fully adjusted logistic regression analysis revealed that individuals in the highest quartile had an increased risk of predicted cardiovascular disease compared with those in the lowest quartile of uric acid. The multivariate adjusted odds ratios(ORs) [95% confidence intervals(CIs)] for the highest quartiles for high Framingham risk were 3.00(2.00-4.50) in men and 2.95(1.08-8.43) in women. The multivariate adjusted ORs(95% CIs) for the highest quartile for high ASCVD risk were 1.93(1.17-3.17) in men and 4.53(2.57-7.98) in women. 8Photosynthetic Characteristics of a Super High Yield Cultivar of Winter Wheat During Late Growth Period显示文摘The mechanism of high yield of winter wheat in the field at late growth period was investigated by measuring the photosynthetic characteristics of photosystem II (PSII) and xanthophylls cycle, which could provide physiological reference for breeding. Weimai 8 (W8), a super high yield cultivar, and Lumai 14 (L14), a control cultivar were object. The photosynthetic rate (Pn), parameters of chlorophyll fluorescence and chlorophyll content were measured. The Pn, maximum photochemical efficiency of PSII (Fv/Fm), quantum yield of PSII electron transport ( PSII), efficiency of excitation energy capture by open PSII reaction centers (Fv′/Fm′), and photochemical quenching coefficient (qP) were higher in Weimai 8 compared to that in Lumai 14, a commercial high yield cultivar. Furthermore, Weimai 8 showed a lower nonphotochemical quenching coefficient and a lower de-epoxidized ratio of the xanthophyll cycle pigments than of Lumai 14 at late growth period. At mature stage, chlorophyll content of different leaves decreased both in Weimai 8 and Lumai 14. Chlorophyll content in flag, second and third leaf from the top of plant decreased more in Lumai 14 than in Weimai 8. These results suggested that Weimai 8 had more antenna pigments to absorb light energy, and had higher photosynthetic capability and photochemical efficiency of PSII. 9Sociodemographic characteristics and risk factor analysis of Demodex infestation(Acari:Demodicidae)显示文摘To identify sociodemographic characteristics and risk factor of Demodex infestation,756 students aged 13-22 years in Xi'an,China were sampled for the school-based cross-sectional study.Demodex was examined using the cellophane tape method(CTP).The results showed that the total detection rate of Demodex was 67.6%.Logistic regression analysis revealed that five variables(gender,residence,sharing sanitary ware,frequency of face-wash per day,and use of facial cleanser) were found to be uncorrelated with Demodex infestation,whereas three variables(age,skin type,and skin disease) were found to be independent correlates.Students aged over 18 years had 22.1 times higher odds of Demodex infestation compared to those under 16 years and students aged 16-18 years also had 2.1 times higher odds compared to those aged 13-15 years.Odds of having a Demodex infestation for oily or mixed skin were 2.1 times those for dry or neutral skin.Students with a facial skin disease had 3.0 times higher odds of being infested with Demodex compared to those without.The inception rate of students with facial dermatoses increased in parallel with increasing mite count.The inception rates were 21.3%,40.7%,59.2%,and 67.7% in the negative,mild,moderate,and severe infestation groups,respectively(χ2=60.6,P<0.001).Specifically,the amount of infested mites and inception rate of acne vulgaris were positively correlated(R2=0.57,moderate infestation odds ratio(OR)=7.1,severe infestation OR=10.3).It was concluded that Demodex prevalence increases with age,and Demodex presents in nearly all adult human.Sebaceous hyperplasia with oily or mixed skin seems to favour Demodex proliferation.Demodex infestation could be associated with acne vulgaris.The CTP is a good sampling method for studies of Demodex prevalence.Ya-e ZHAO Na GUO Meng XUN Ji-ru XU Mei WANG Duo-lao WANG 2011Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2011,12,12:12
10Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 11Overexpression of Sweet Pepper Glycerol-3-Phosphate Acyltransferase Gene Enhanced Thermotolerance of Photosynthetic Apparatus in Transgenic Tobacco显示文摘In order to investigate the relationship between the lipid composition in thylakoid membrane and thermostability of pho-tosynthetic apparatus,tobacco transformed with sweet pepper sense glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase (GPAT) gene were used to analyze the lipid composition in thylakoid membrane,the net photosynthetic rate and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters under high temperature stress. The results showed that the saturated extent of monogalactosyldiacylglycerol (MGDG),sulfoquinovosyldiacylglycerol,digalactosyldiacylglycerol and phosphatidylglycerol in thylakoid membrane of transgenic tobacco T1 lines increased generally. Particularly,the saturated extent in MGDG increased obviously by 16.2% and 12.0% in T1-2 and T1-1,respectively. With stress temperature elevating,the maximum efficiency of photosystem II (PSII) photochemistry (Fv/Fm),actual photochemical efficiency of PSII in the light ( PSII) and net photosynthetic rate (Pn) of the two lines and wild type tobacco plants decreased gradually,but those parameters decreased much less in transgenic plants. Even though the recovery process appeared differently in the donor and acceptor side of PSII in transgenic tobacco compared with wild-type plants,the entire capability of PSII recovered faster in transgenic tobacco,which was shown in the parameters of PI,Fv/Fm and PSII,as a result,the recovery of Pn was accelerated. 13Comparative analysis of robotic vs laparoscopic radical hysterectomy for cervical cancer显示文摘BACKGROUND Cervical cancer is the most common gynecological malignancy,ranking first in female reproductive malignancies with more than 500000 new cases and 275000 deaths each year.Traditionally,open radical hysterectomy is considered the standard surgical procedure for the treatment of resectable cervical cancer.The latest guidelines from the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and the European Society of Gynecological Oncology suggest that open surgery and laparoscopic surgery(using traditional laparoscopic or robotic techniques)are the main surgical approaches for radical hysterectomy for patients with stage IA2-IIA cervical cancer.Robotic surgery has been increasingly used in abdominal surgery and has shown more beneficial effects.AIM To analyse the perioperative conditions,complications,and short-term and longterm effects in patients undergoing robotic radical hysterectomy(RRH)and laparoscopic radical hysterectomy(LRH)to compare their clinical efficacy,safety,and feasibility.METHODS The perioperative data of patients undergoing RRH and LRH were extracted and collected from the database of surgical treatments for cervical cancer for statistical analysis.RESULTS Of the patients,342 underwent LRH for cervical cancer,and 216 underwent RRH.The total complication rate was 9.65%(20 patients)in the RRH group and 17.59%(60 patients)in the LRH group.The complication rate was significantly lower in the RRH group than in the LRH group.There was no significant difference in the follow-up period(P=0.658).The total recurrence rates were 15.7%and 12%in the RRH and LRH groups,respectively.The progression-free survival time was 28.91±15.68 mo and 28.34±15.13 mo in the RRH and LRH groups,respectively(P=0.669).The overall survival(OS)rates were 92.13%and 94.45%in the RRH and LRH groups,respectively(P=0.292).The OS time was 29.87±15.92 mo and 29.41±15.14 mo in the RRH and LRH groups,respectively(P=0.732).The survival curves and the progression-free survival curves were not statistically significantly different between the two groups(P=0.407 and 0.28,respectively).CONCLUSION RRH is associated with significantly less operative time and blood loss than LRH.The two procedures have similar complication rates,OS,and progression-free survival time.Li Chen Li-Ping Liu Na Wen Xiao Qiao Yuan-Guang Meng 2019World Journal of Clinical Cases2019,7,20:9

15Repeatability and Reproducibility of Quantitative Assessment of the Retinal Microvasculature Using Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography Based on Optical Microangiography显示文摘Objective The aim of this study was to determine the repeatability and reproducibility of optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA) based on optical microangiography(OMAG) measurements of macular vessels in normal eyes. Methods In this prospective cohort study, 40 eyes of 40 healthy volunteers underwent repeated OCTA(Cirrus HD-OCT 5000 angiography system, Carl Zeiss Meditec, Inc.) scans on two separate visit days. On each visit day, the eyes were scanned three times. The following parameters were used to quantitatively describe the OCTA images of the superficial vascular network: vessel area density(VAD), vessel skeleton density(VSD), vessel diameter index(VDI), vessel perimeter index(VPI), vessel complexity index(VCI), flux, and foveal avascular zone(FAZ). Coefficient of variation(CV) and intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC) were calculated for evaluating intravisit and intervisit repeatability, as well as interobserver reproducibility. Results The measurements showed high repeatability [CVs ≤ 4.2%(intravisit) and ≤ 4.6%(intervisit)] and interobserver reproducibility(ICCs ≥ 0.923) for all parameters. 16Impacts of precipitation variation and soil and water conservation measures on runoff and sediment yield in the Loess Plateau Gully Region, China显示文摘The Loess Plateau of China has experienced a lengthy drought and severe soil erosion.Changes in precipitation and land use largely determine the dynamics of runoff and sediment yield in this region. Trend and mutation analyses were performed on hydrological data(1981–2012) from the Yanwachuan watershed in the Loess Plateau Gully Region to study the evolution characteristics of runoff and sediment yield. A time-series contrasting method also was used to evaluate the effects of precipitation and soil and water conservation(SWC) on runoff and sediment yield. Annual sediment yield declined markedly from 1981 to 2012 although there was no significant change in annual precipitation and annual runoff. Change points of annual runoff and annual sediment yield occurred in 1996 and 1997,respectively. Compared with that in the baseline period(1981–1996), annual runoff and annual sediment yield in the change period(1997–2012)decreased by 17.0% and 76.0%, respectively, but annual precipitation increased by 6.3%. Runoff decreased in the flood season and normal season, but increased in the dry season, while sediment yield significantly declined in the whole study period. The SWC measures contributed significantly to the reduction of annual runoff(137.9%) and annual sediment yield(135%) and were more important than precipitation. Biological measures(forestland and grassland) accounted for 61.04% of total runoff reduction, while engineering measures(terraces and dams) accounted for 102.84% of total sediment yield reduction. Furthermore, SWC measures had positive ecological effects. 18Functional analysis of the ABA-responsive protein family in ABA and stress signal transduction in Arabidopsis显示文摘The phytohormone abscisic acid(ABA)plays an important role in plant growth and development,for example in seed dormancy and germination,as well as in plant responses to environmental stresses,such as drought and high salinity.Previous studies have shown that ABA regulates the expression of genes with an ABA-responsive element(ABRE)and their corresponding physiological responses.Bioinformatics analysis identified a GRAM domain-containing gene family that has a multiple ABRE cis-element,which was termed the ABA-responsive protein(ABR)family.To analyze the function of the ABR family,we identified homozygous T-DNA insertion mutants and constructed abr1,2,3 double mutants and triple mutant.The abr1,abr2 and abr3single mutants showed a normal phenotype;however,the germination of seeds of the double mutants and triple mutant were insensitive to ABA,NaCl,mannitol and glucose.ABR1-GFP was distributed as a punctate structure in the cytosol and may be localized in the endomembrane system.The ABR2-GFP and ABR3-GFP proteins localized in the cytoplasm.In addition,ABR1,ABR2 and ABR3 were expressed in various tissues,and could be induced by several abiotic stresses,especially by ABA.The expressions of these genes were significantly suppressed in aba2,abi1 and abi2 null mutants.These results suggested that the ABR family may act downstream of ABI1 and ABI2 in the ABA signal transduction process in plants.LIU LingYun LI Na YAO ChunPeng MENG SaSa SONG ChunPeng 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,31:7
19A novel tomato SUMO E_3 ligase,SlSIZ_1,confers drought tolerance in transgenic tobacco显示文摘SUMOylation is an important post-translational modification process that regulates different cellular functions in eukaryotes.SIZ/PIAS-type SAP and Miz1(SIZ_1) proteins exhibit SUMO E_3 ligase activity,which modulates SUMOylation.However,SIZ_1 in tomato has been rarely investigated.In this study,a tomato SIZ_1 gene(Sl SIZ_1)was isolated and its molecular characteristics and role in tolerance to drought stress are described.Sl SIZ_1 was upregulated by cold,sodium chloride(Na Cl),polyethylene glycol(PEG),hydrogen peroxide(H_2O_2) and abscisic acid(ABA),and the corresponding proteins were localized in the nucleus.The expression of Sl SIZ_1 in Arabidopsis thaliana(Arabidopsis) siz1-2 mutants partially complemented the phenotypes of dwarf,cold sensitivity and ABA hypersensitivity.Sl SIZ_1 also exhibited the activity of SUMO E_3 ligase to promote the accumulation of SUMO conjugates.Under drought stress,the ectopic expression of Sl SIZ_1 in transgenic tobacco lines enhanced seed germination and reduced the accumulation of reactive oxygen species.SlSIZ_1 overexpression conferred the plants with improved growth,high free proline content,minimal malondialdehyde accumulation and increased accumulation of SUMO conjugates.Sl SIZ_1 is a functional homolog of Arabidopsis SIZ_1 with SUMO E_3 ligase activity.Therefore,overexpression of Sl SIZ_1 enhanced the tolerance of transgenic tobacco to drought stress.Song Zhang Kunyang Zhuang Shiju Wang Jinlian Lv Na'na Ma Qingwei Meng 2017Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2017,59,2:7
20Comparative genomic and transcriptomic analyses uncover the molecular basis of high nitrogen-use efficiency in the wheat cultivar Kenong 9204显示文摘Studying the regulatory mechanisms that drive nitrogen-use efficiency(NUE)in crops is important for sustainable agriculture and environmental protection.In this study,we generated a high-quality genome assembly for the high-NUE wheat cultivar Kenong 9204 and systematically analyzed genes related to nitrogen uptake and metabolism.By comparative analyses,we found that the high-affinity nitrate transporter gene family had expanded in Triticeae.Further studies showed that subsequent functional differentiation endowed the expanded family members with saline inducibility,providing a genetic basis for improving the adaptability of wheat to nitrogen deficiency in various habitats.To explore the genetic and molecular mechanisms of high NUE,we compared genomic and transcriptomic data from the high-NUE cultivar Kenong 9204(KN9204)and the low-NUE cultivar Jing 411 and quantified their nitrogen accumulation under high-and low-nitrogen conditions.Compared with Jing 411,KN9204 absorbed significantly more nitrogen at the reproductive stage after shooting and accumulated it in the shoots and seeds.Transcriptome data analysis revealed that nitrogen deficiency clearly suppressed the expression of genes related to cell division in the young spike of Jing 411,whereas this suppression of gene expression was much lower in KN9204.In addition,KN9204 maintained relatively high expression of NPF genes for a longer time than Jing 411 during seed maturity.Physiological and transcriptome data revealed that KN9204 was more tolerant of nitrogen deficiency than Jing 411,especially at the reproductive stage.The high NUE of KN9204 is an integrated effect controlled at different levels.Taken together,our data provide new insights into the molecular mechanisms of NUE and important gene resources for improving wheat cultivars with a higher NUE trait.Xiaoli Shi Fa Cui Xinyin Han Yilin He Long Zhao Na Zhang Hao Zhang Haidong Zhu Zhexin Liu Bin Ma Shusong Zheng Wei Zhang Jiajia Liu Xiaoli Fan Yaoqi Si Shuiquan Tian Jianqing Niu Huilan Wu Xuemei Liu Zhuo Chen Deyuan Meng Xiaoyan Wang Liqiang Song Lijing Sun Jie Han Hui Zhao Jun Ji Zhiguo Wang Xiaoyu He Ruilin Li Xuebin Chi Chengzhi Liang Beifang Niu Jun Xiao Junming Li Hong-Qing Ling 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,9:6
