| 3 | Community Responses to Mountain Tourism:A Case in Bhyundar Valley,Indian Himalaya显示文摘Tourism industry has become an important part of Indian economy,and tourism development has been,however,concentrated to a few areas. Accumulation of tourism activities has reached the critical stage in most of the tourism centers,which pose serious threats to the natural environment. The Bhyundar Valley of Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve (NDBR) in Uttarakhand State of the Indian Himalaya is a burning example of such problems. Land use/cover changes,deforestation and accumulation of garbage are some of the negative impacts of unregulated tourism in the valley. Unsustainable activities of tourists and villagers in the valley make such problems very severe. To deal with the ongoing problems and ensure community involvement in tourism management and environmental conservation,the Biosphere Reserve Authority introduced ecotourism in the form of Eco Development Committees (EDCs) in the Bhyundar Valley. Study reveals that many problems associated with tourism have been minimized to some extent with the help of EDCs but few are still prevailing in valley. | 4 | Symptomatic subserosal gastric lipoma successfully treated with enucleation显示文摘Gastric lipomas are rare tumors, accounting for 2%-3% of all benign gastric tumors. They are of submucosal or extremely rare subserosal origin. Although most gastric lipomas are usually detected incidentally, they can cause abdominal pain, dyspeptic disorders, obstruction, invagination, and hemorrhages. Subserosal gastric lipomas are rarely symptomatic. There is no report on treatment of subserosal gastric lipomas in the English literature. We present a case of a 50-year-old male with symptomatic subserosal gastric lipoma which was successfully managed with removal, enucleation of lipoma, explorative gastrotomy and edge resection for histology check of gastric wall. | 6 | Efficacy of bevacizumab-containing chemotherapy in metastatic colorectal cancer and CXCL5 expression: Six case reports显示文摘BACKGROUND In metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC),the anti-vascular endothelial growth factor drug bevacizumab(BVZ)plus chemotherapy significantly improves progression-free survival compared to chemotherapy(CT)alone.This benefit is not,however,observed in all patients.While increased chemokine CXCL5 gene expression promoting angiogenesis has been proposed as a prognostic mCRC biomarker,few studies have examined its relationship with drug efficacy.This study sought to analyze tumor CXCL5 gene expression in six patients with different efficacy of BVZ-containing CT in terms of the tumor response to treatment.CASE SUMMARY We report six cases of stage IV KRAS-mutated mCRC.Patients were given first line treatment with BVZ-containing chemotherapy in University Hospital of Fuenlabrada.The six patients differed in terms of primary tumor location(right/left side),tumor burden(mostly hepatic and peritoneal disease)and clinical disease course.Before treatment onset,total RNA was isolated from paraffinated tumor biopsy specimens and CXCL5 gene expression quantified through conventional RT-qPCR procedures.Our main finding was that CXCL5 expression levels were several times higher in three patients with lower progression free survival(under 6 mo)from the start of treatment.CONCLUSION A higher expression of CXCL5 was observed in the three patients showing worse tumor response to treatment. | Apolonia Novillo María Gaibar Alicia Romero-Lorca María Fuencisla Gilsanz Laura Beltrán Miguel Galán Beatriz Antón Diego Malón Amalia Moreno Ana Fernández-Santander | 2020 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2020，26，16： | 2 |

| 8 | Neuroprotective effects of bovine colostrum on intracerebral hemorrhage-induced apoptotic neuronal cell death in rats显示文摘Brain cell death after intracerebral hemorrhage may be mediated in part by an apoptotic mechanism. Colostrum is the first milk produced by mammals for their young. It plays an important role in protection and development by providing various antibodies, growth factors and nutrients, and has been used for various diseases in many countries. In the present study, we investigated the anti-apoptotic effects of bovine colostrum using organotypic hippocampal slice cultures and an intracerebral hemorrhage animal model. We performed densitometric measurements of propidium iodide uptake, a step-down avoidance task, Nissl staining, and caspase-3 immunohistochemistry. The present results revealed that colostrum treatment significantly suppressed N-methyl-D-aspartic acid-induced neuronal cell death in the rat hippocampus. Moreover, colostrum treatment improved short-term memory by suppressing hemorrhage-induced apoptotic neuronal cell death and decreasing the volume of the lesion induced by intracerebral hemorrhage in the rat hippocampus.
