1Comparisons between centrifuge and numerical modeling results for slope toppling failure显示文摘This paper presents series studies on the toppling mechanism by centrifuge tests and numerical simulations. Two different discrete element methods, i.e., the continuum-based discrete element method(CDEM) and the discontinuous deformation analysis(DDA), are adopted. The modeling results show that both the methods can accurately capture the failure modes of the centrifuge tests, including three distinct zones and two failure surfaces. Comparisons are made between the physical test and numerical simulation results. The critical inclination angle of the tilting table where the slope models are fixed on can be moderately predicted by the two methods, with different degrees of precision. The error between the test results and the simulated results is within 1% for the slope models without rock-bridges by both CDEM and DDA. However, it is amplified for the staggered-joint models that simulate the rock-bridges. With DDA, the average error is about 5%, and the maximum error is up to 17%. While with CDEM, the errors for the aligned-joint models are ranged from 1% to 6%, and it is from 10% to 29% for the staggered-joint models. The two numerical methods show the capability in simulating toppling failure of blocky rock mass with and without rock-bridges. The model with rock-bridges which provides a certain bending resistance is more stable than the one without any rock-bridge. 3Early evaluation of growth traits of Larix kaempferi clones显示文摘Early selection is an important method to shorten the breeding cycle for tree species, which may differ in the time for early selection.To evaluate the early selected time for Larix kaempferi, tree height and diameter at breast height of 57 L.kaempferi clones were measured over many different growth years.The results indicated that, except for age × clone interaction for diameter at breast height(P = 0.741), there were significant differences among all variation sources(P < 0.01).The coefficient of phenotypic variation ranged from 14.89 to 35.65%for height and from 19.17 to 23.86% for diameter at breast height in different growth years.The repeatability of height and of diameter at breast height among clones was high,ranging from 0.6181 to 0.8531(height) and from 0.8443 to0.8497(diameter at breast height), in different growth years.There were significant positive correlations between all pairs of growth traits except between height in the 2 nd growth year and height in the 30 th growth year; and between height in the 2 nd growth year × diameter at breast height in the 30 th growth year.With a comprehensive evaluation method and a selection ratio of 10%, L65,L1, L62, L9, L15, and L78 were selected as excellent clones in the 30 th growth year.Their average values of height and diameter at breast height were 9.81 and 16.57%higher than the overall average, representing genetic gains of 6.46 and 13.99%, respectively.This study provides a theoretical foundation for the genetic improvement of L.kaempferi.Yanyan Pan Shuchun Li Chenglu Wang Wenjun Ma Guiyou Xu Lili Shao Kailong Li Xiyang Zhao Tingbo Jiang 2018Journal of Forestry Research2018,29,4:10

8Occurrence and bioaccumulation of polybrominated diphenyl ethers in sediments and paddy ecosystems of Liaohe River Basin, northeast China显示文摘Concentrations of 16 polybrominated diphenyl ether(PBDE) congeners were measured in river sediments, paddy soils and three species of paddy-field organisms(crab, loach and carp) collected from the Liaohe River Basin, northeastern China. The total contents of PBDEs(∑_(16)PBDEs) in sediments and paddy soils were in the ranges of 273.4–3246.3 pg/g dry weight(dw), and 192.1–1783.8 pg/g dw, respectively. BDE 209 was the dominant congener both in sediments and paddy soils. The concentrations of ∑_(16)PBDEs in sediments were significantly higher than those in the adjacent paddy soils, indicating a potential transport of PBDEs from river to paddy ecosystems via river water irrigation. The biota–soil accumulation factor(BSAF) was calculated as the ratio between the lipid-normalized concentration in paddyfield organisms and the total organic carbon-normalized concentration in paddy soil. The average BSAF values of ∑15PBDEs followed the sequence of crab(3.6) > loach(3.3) > carp(2.1). BDE 154 had the highest BSAF value, and a parabolic trend between BSAF values of individual PBDE congeners and their log KOWvalues was observed. 9Comparative Study on Rain Splash Erosion of Representative Soils in China显示文摘As the first event of soil erosion, rain splash erosion supplies materials for subsequent transportation and en-trainment. The Loess Plateau, the southern hilly region and the Northeast China are subject to serious soil and water loss; however, the characteristics of rain splash erosion in those regions are still unclear. The objectives of the study are to ana-lyze the characteristics of splash erosion on loess soil, red soil, purple soil and black soil, and to discuss the relationship between splash erosion and soil properties. Soil samples spatially distributed in the abovementioned regions were col-lected and underwent simulated rainfalls at a high intensity of 1.2mm/min, lasting for 5, 10, 15, and 20min, respectively. Rain splash and soil crust development were analyzed. It shows that black soil sample from Heilongjiang Province corre-sponds to the minimum splash erosion amount because it has high aggregate content, aggregate stability and organic mat-ter content. Loess soil sample from Inner Mongolia corresponds to the maximum splash erosion amount because it has high content of sand particles. Loess soil sample from Shanxi Province has relatively lower splash erosion amount be-cause it has high silt particle content and low aggregate stability easily to be disrupted under rainfalls with high intensity. Although aggregate contents of red soil and purple soil samples from Hubei and Guangdong provinces are high, the sta-bility is weak and prone to be disrupted, so the splash erosion amount is medium. Splash rate which fluctuates over time is observed because soil crust development follows a cycling processes of formation and disruption. 11Safety and effectiveness of Traditional Chinese Medicinal herbs for diabetic foot:a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicinal herbs(TCMHs) as an adjunctive treatment for diabetic foot(DF).METHODS: The sources used were Pub Med(1966 to August 2015), the Cochrane Library(1988 to August 2015), the Excerpta Medica Database(1974 to August 2015), Wiley(1807 to August 2015), Ovid(1988 to August 2015), Clinical Trials.gov(1993 to August 2015), the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials(1966 to August 2015), China Science and Technology Journal Database(1994 to August2015), Chi CTR(2007 to August 2015), Sino Med(1978 to August 2015), the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(1984 to August 2015), Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform(1998 to August 2015), and the Traditional Chinese Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System(TCMLARS)(1984 to August 2015). Studies were identified and selected, and the data were extracted by two independent reviewers. The Cochrane Risk of Bias tool was used to assess the quality of studies. Revman 5.2 software was used for data synthesis and analysis.RESULTS: Sixteen studies were included based on the selection criteria. Of these, seven studies had low bias risk and one had high bias risk. In the overall analysis, TCMHs resulted in a significantly higher total effective rate(OR 5.08; 95% CI 3.50 to7.36; P < 0.000 01), cure rate(OR 2.12; 95% CI1.63 to 2.77; P < 0.000 01), and shorter time to ulcer healing(SMD-0.64; 95% CI-0.89 to-0.40;P < 0.000 01) when compared with non-TCMHs treated DF. 14Nonfatal Child Pedestrian Injury in Two Urban Cities of Guangdong Province,China:Results from a Cross-sectional Survey显示文摘Objective To describe the epidemiological characteristics of nonfatal child pedestrian injuries and provide information to help understand an important public-health problem.Methods This was a school-based,cross-sectional questionnaire survey.The sample (42 750 children) was obtained from two urban cities of Guangdong Province,China,using multi-stage randomized sampling.Information was collected by the respondents self-reporting in the classroom.Results The incidence rate of nonfatal child pedestrian injuries in the cities was 2.0%.Boys had a higher incidence rate (2.6%) than girls (1.4%).Compared to other children,those aged 10 years are at the highest risk.The primary places of occurrence were sidewalks,residential roads,and crosswalks.High-risk behavior of the children immediately prior to injury included mid-block crossings,playing on roads,and crossing on red lights.The major vehicles that caused pedestrian injuries were bicycles,car or vans,and motorcycles.Bruises,fractures,and injuries to the internal organs were the top three types of injuries.Almost 40% of victims were hospitalized,and nearly 30% of the victims suffered long-term disabilities.Conclusion This study shows that nonfatal child pedestrian injuries are a very serious public-health problem in the urban cities of Guangdong.Based on the epidemiological characteristics,prevention strategies and further research should be carried out to reduce the occurrence of injuries.MA WenJun NIE ShaoPing XU HaoFeng XU YanJun XIE HuiYan ZHANG YuRun 2011Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011,24,4:4
15Electrospinning of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose trimellitate solutions显示文摘Nonwoven fiber mats of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose trimellitate(HPMCT) with potential applications in controlled delivery of drugs and scaffolds for tissue cultures have been successfully fabricated by electrospinning of HPMCT solutions.The formation and diameters of HPMCT fibers fabricated by electrospinning were strongly influenced by the solvents employed,electrostatic field strength,and solution concentrations.The electrospun products generated from all HPMCT solutions with various weight-average molecular weights in methanol/dichloromethane(1:1) solvent consisted of clustered beads,while methanol/dichloromethane(1:5) solvent helped to generate smooth,uniform,submicron fibers.From the relationship between specific viscosity and molecular weight in different solvents,it could be concluded that methanol/dichloromethane(1:5) solvent enhanced the molecular entanglements,improved the viscosity of the solutions,thus helped to generate smooth fibers.When all the other variables were kept constant,the concentration range suitable for electrospinning was between 10% and 16%(wt),and the average fiber diameter increased as the concentration increased.When all the other variables were kept constant,the average fiber diameter decreased as the strength of the electrostatic field increased.Electrospinning the solutions of two compounds with similar structure,hydroxypropyl methylcellulose phthalate(HPMCP) and HPMCT,we found that the fibers electrospun from HPMCP were thicker than that from HPMCT,which is attributed to the fact that the solution's conductivity of HPMCT(containing two free carboxyl groups) is higher than that of HPMCP(containing only one free carboxyl group).MA Gang,SHAO ZiQiang,WANG WenJun,WANG FeiJun,TAN LingLing & LIAO Bing School of Material,Beijing Institute of Technology,Beijing 100081,China 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,1:3
16High-temperature mechanical properties of as-extruded AZ80 magnesium alloy at different strain rates显示文摘The mechanical properties of as-extruded AZ80 magnesium alloy at temperatures of 450-525℃ and strain rates of 3.0 s^(−1)and 0.15 s^(−1)were investigated by tensile tests.Zero ductility of alloy appeared at 500℃ with a strain rate of 0.15 s^(−1),while the zero strength and zero ductility of the alloy were obtained nearly simultaneously at 525℃ with a strain rate of 3.0 s^(−1).The results indicated that the lower strain rate accelerated the arrival of zero ductility.As the temperature increased,the failure mode of the alloy developed from trans-granular fracture to cleavage fracture and then to inter-granular fracture with the feature of sugar-like grains and fusion traces.The existence of the low-melting composite ofβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12) and Al_(8)Mn_(5) particles segregated near the Mg_(17)Al_(12) phase along grain boundaries were demonstrated to be the reason for the brittle fracturing of the AZ80 alloy at high temperatures.Furthermore,microstructural evolution at temperatures approaching the solidus temperature was discussed to clarify magnesium alloy’s high temperature deformation mechanism.Wenjun Liu Bin Jiang Hongchen Xiang Qing Ye Shengqi Xia Siqiang Chen Jiangfeng Song Yanlong Ma Mingbo Yang 2022International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,7:3

18Exploration and implementation of commonality valuation method in commercial aircraft family design显示文摘Commercial aircraft family design can reduce development costs, shorten development cycles, and expand the market coverage of aircraft. Commercial aircraft family development has become one of the most important features of modern aircraft design. This paper explores the effects of commonality on different aircraft models in a commercial aircraft family. The existing product commonality indexes are summarized and their limitations in the application to aircraft design are discussed. Then a new component commonality index is proposed based on the component decomposition structure. A model for calculating the aircraft program value is established,which considers development costs, manufacturing costs, sale price, operation costs and residual costs. The effects of aircraft commonality on time and economic costs of both development and manufacturing, and on sale price, are analyzed and quantified. The commonality evaluation strategy is obtained, which features comprehensive consideration of the aircraft program value and time costs. The break-even analysis of aircraft is proceeded on the basis of costs and price data. By using a real option method, the strategy considers the uncertainty of the aircraft program and the flexibility of the manufacturer. 20Efficacy of Sijunzi decoction(四君子汤) on limb weakness in spleen Qi deficiency model rats through adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase/unc-51 like autophagy activating kinase 1 signaling显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the efficacy of Sijunzi decoction(四君子汤)on limb weakness in a rat model of spleen Qi deficiency(SQD),and to study its effect on mitophagy in skeletal muscle through adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase(AMPK)/unc-51 like autophagy activating kinase 1(ULK1)signaling.METHODS:SQD model rats were produced by fasting combined with forced swimming method for15 d.After model assessment,rats were randomly divided into four groups of 10[low/middle/high(L/M/H)Sijunzi decoction dose groups and a normal saline(S)group].Limb holding power(HP)and body mass(BM)were measured after 2 weeks of treatment.Following euthanasia,quadriceps femoris were dissected and myofiber and mitochondrial morphology were observed by transmission electron microscopy(TEM).Mitochondrial membrane potential(MMP),adenosine triphosphatase(ATP)and reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels were determined using colorimetric methods,and immunoblot analysis of Microtubule-associated protein light chain 3(LC3)and Sequestosome 1(p62)was performed to monitor mitophagy and AMPK/ULK1 signaling.RESULTS:Compared with control(C)group rats,in the S group,HP was reduced,the myofiber Z line was disordered,mitochondria were scattered,and numerous vacuoles and mitophagy were observed.MMP and ATP levels were reduced,ROS levels were elevated,and LC3B expression,and p-AMPKα(Thr172)/AMPKα,p-ULK1(Ser555)/ULK1,and p-Raptor(Ser792)/Raptor ratios were increased,while p62 expression and p-mT OR(Ser2448)/mT OR and p-ULK1(Ser757)/ULK1 ratios were decreased.After treatment,compared with the S group,HP was improved in M and H groups but not in the L group.Mitophagy was reduced in M,H and L groups but the Z line was disordered and vacuolization remained in the L group.ATP levels were elevated in M,H and L groups,and MMPs were elevated in M and H groups but not in the L group.ROS levels were decreased in M,H and L groups,as were LC3B expression and p-Raptor(Ser792)/Raptor ratios,while p62 expression and p-mT OR(Ser2448)/mT OR and p-ULK1(Ser757)/ULK1 ratios were increased in M and H groups but not in the L group.p-AMPKα(Thr172)/AMPKαand p-ULK1(Ser555)/ULK1 ratios were decreased in M,H and L groups.CONCLUSIONS:Sijunzi decoction improved HP,possibly by inhibiting mitophagy via suppression of AMPK/ULK1 signaling.This restored mitochondrial morphology and improved oxidative phosphorylation,which contributed to recovery of limb weakness in SQD model rats.LIU Wenjun XU Xinzhu DUAN Zhiyuan LIANG Xicai MA Dan LI Gege XIE Xin CHAI Jiyan CHEN Jing SHAN Dehong 2021Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,4:2
