1High-temperature mechanical properties of as-extruded AZ80 magnesium alloy at different strain rates显示文摘The mechanical properties of as-extruded AZ80 magnesium alloy at temperatures of 450-525℃ and strain rates of 3.0 s^(−1)and 0.15 s^(−1)were investigated by tensile tests.Zero ductility of alloy appeared at 500℃ with a strain rate of 0.15 s^(−1),while the zero strength and zero ductility of the alloy were obtained nearly simultaneously at 525℃ with a strain rate of 3.0 s^(−1).The results indicated that the lower strain rate accelerated the arrival of zero ductility.As the temperature increased,the failure mode of the alloy developed from trans-granular fracture to cleavage fracture and then to inter-granular fracture with the feature of sugar-like grains and fusion traces.The existence of the low-melting composite ofβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12) and Al_(8)Mn_(5) particles segregated near the Mg_(17)Al_(12) phase along grain boundaries were demonstrated to be the reason for the brittle fracturing of the AZ80 alloy at high temperatures.Furthermore,microstructural evolution at temperatures approaching the solidus temperature was discussed to clarify magnesium alloy’s high temperature deformation mechanism.Wenjun Liu Bin Jiang Hongchen Xiang Qing Ye Shengqi Xia Siqiang Chen Jiangfeng Song Yanlong Ma Mingbo Yang 2022International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,7:3
2Breakdown of Maxwell Garnett theory due to evanescent fields at deep-subwavelength scale显示文摘Deep-subwavelength all-dielectric composite materials are believed to tightly obey the Maxwell Garnett effective medium theory. Here, we demonstrate that the Maxwell Garnett theory could break down due to evanescent fields in deep-subwavelength dielectric structures. By using two-and three-dimensional dielectric composite materials with inhomogeneities at a scale of λ∕100, we show that local evanescent fields generally occur near the dielectric inhomogeneities. When tiny absorptive constituents are placed there, the absorption and transmission of the whole composite will show strong dependence on the positions of the absorptive constituents. The Maxwell Garnett theory fails to predict such position-dependent characteristics because it averages out the evanescent fields. By taking the distribution of the evanescent fields into consideration, we have made a correction to the Maxwell Garnett theory so that the position-dependent characteristics become predictable. We reveal not only the breakdown of the Maxwell Garnett theory, but also a unique phenomenon of 'invisible' loss induced by the prohibition of electric fields at deep-subwavelength scales. 3Construction of hollow polydopamine nanoparticle based drug sustainable release system and its application in bone regeneration显示文摘Nanomaterial-based drug sustainable release systems have been tentatively applied to bone regeneration.They,however,still face disadvantages of high toxicity,low biocompatibility,and low drug-load capacity.In view of the low toxicity and high biocompatibility of polymer nanomaterials and the excellent load capacity of hollow nanomaterials with high specific surface area,we evaluated the hollow polydopamine nanoparticles(HPDA NPs),in order to find an optimal system to effectively deliver the osteogenic drugs to improve treatment of bone defect.Data demonstrated that the HPDA NPs synthesized herein could efficiently load four types of osteogenic drugs and the drugs can effectively release from the HPDA NPs for a relatively longer time in vitro and in vivo with low toxicity and high biocompatibility.Results of qRT-PCR,ALP,and alizarin red S staining showed that drugs released from the HPDA NPs could promote osteogenic differentiation and proliferation of rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(rBMSCs)in vitro.Image data from micro-CT and H&E staining showed that all four osteogenic drugs released from the HPDA NPs effectively promoted bone regeneration in the defect of tooth extraction fossa in vivo,especially tacrolimus.These results suggest that the HPDA NPs,the biodegradable hollow polymer nanoparticles with high drug load rate and sustainable release ability,have good prospect to treat the bone defect in future clinical practice.Lu Wang Shuwei Liu Chunxia Ren Siyuan Xiang Daowei Li Xinqing Hao Shilei Ni Yixin Chen Kai Zhang Hongchen Sun 2021International Journal of Oral Science2021,13,3:0
