1Lushan M_S7.0 earthquake:A blind reserve-fault event显示文摘In the epicenter of the Lushan MS7.0 earthquake there are several imbricate active reverse faults lying from northwest to southeast,namely the Gengda-Longdong,Yanjing-Wulong,Shuangshi-Dachuan and Dayi faults.Emergency field investigations have indicated that no apparent earthquake surface rupture zones were located along these active faults or their adjacent areas.Only brittle compressive ruptures in the cement-covered pavements can be seen in Shuangshi,Taiping,Longxing and Longmen Townships,and these ruptures show that a local crustal shortening occurred in the region during the earthquake.Combining spatial distribution of the relocated aftershocks and focal mechanism solutions,it is inferred that the Lushan earthquake is classified as a typical blind reverse-fault earthquake,and it is advised that the relevant departments should pay great attention to other historically un-ruptured segments along the Longmenshan thrust belt and throughout its adjacent areas.XU XiWei WEN XueZe HAN ZhuJun CHEN GuiHua LI ChuanYou ZHENG WenJun ZHNAG ShiMin REN ZhiQun XU Chong TAN XiBin WEI ZhanYu WANG MingMing REN JunJie HE ZhongTai LIANG MingJian 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28:35
2Parameterizing soil organic carbon's impacts on soil porosity and thermal parameters for Eastern Tibet grasslands显示文摘This study investigates the stratification of soil thermal properties induced by soil organic carbon (SOC) and its impacts on the parameterization of the thermal properties. Soil parameters were measured for alpine grassland stations and North China flux stations, with a total of 34 stations and 77 soil profiles. Measured data indicate that the topsoils of alpine grasslands contain high SOC contents than underlying soil layers, which leads to higher soil porosity values and lower thermal conductivity and bulk density values in the topsoils. However, this stratification is not evident at the lowland stations due to low SOC contents. Evaluations against measured data show that three thermal conductivity schemes used in land surface models severely overestimate the values for soils with high SOC content (i.e. topsoils of alpine grassland), but they are better for soils with low SOC content. A new parameterization is then developed to take the impacts of SOC into account. 3Development of a national VNIR soil-spectral library for soil classification and prediction of organic matter concentrations显示文摘Soil visible-near infrared diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(vis-NIR DRS)has become an important area of research in the fields of remote and proximal soil sensing.The technique is considered to be particularly useful for acquiring data for soil digital mapping,precision agriculture and soil survey.In this study,1581 soil samples were collected from 14 provinces in China,including Tibet,Xinjiang,Heilongjiang,and Hainan.The samples represent 16 soil groups of the Genetic Soil Classification of China.After air-drying and sieving,the diffuse reflectance spectra of the samples were measured under laboratory conditions in the range between 350 and 2500 nm using a portable vis-NIR spectrometer.All the soil spectra were smoothed using the Savitzky-Golay method with first derivatives before performing multivariate data analyses.The spectra were compressed using principal components analysis and the fuzzy k-means method was used to calculate the optimal soil spectral classification.The scores of the principal component analyses were classified into five clusters that describe the mineral and organic composition of the soils.The results on the classification of the spectra are comparable to the results of other similar research.Spectroscopic predictions of soil organic matter concentrations used a combination of the soil spectral classification with multivariate calibration using partial least squares regression(PLSR).This combination significantly improved the predictions of soil organic matter(R2=0.899;RPD=3.158)compared with using PLSR alone(R2=0.697;RPD=1.817).SHI Zhou WANG QianLong PENG Jie JI WenJun LIU HuanJun LI Xi Raphael A VISCARRA ROSSEL 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,7:32
4Re-Os isotope dating of molybdenites in the Huang-shaping Pb-Zn-W-Mo polymetallic deposit, Hunan Province, South China and its geological significance显示文摘The large-scale Huangshaping Pb-Zn-W-Mo polymetallic deposit is located in the central Nanling min- eralization zone, South China. Six molybdenite samples from the Huangshaping deposit were selected for Re-Os isotope measurement in order to define the mineralization age of the deposit. It yields a Re-Os isochron age of 154.8±1.9 Ma (2σ ), which is in accordance with the Re-Os model ages of 150.9― 156.9 Ma. This age is about 7 Ma younger than their host granite porphyry, which was dated as 161.6±1.1 Ma by zircon U-Pb method using LA-ICPMS. All these ages demonstrate that the Huang- shaping granite and related Pb-Zn-W-Mo deposit occurred in the middle Yanshanian period, when many other granitoid and related ore deposits emplaced and formed, e.g. the Qitianling granite and Furong tin deposit, the Qianlishan granite and giant Shizhuyuan W-Sn-Mo-Bi deposit and Jinchuantang Sn-Bi deposit in the nearby area. They constitute the main part of the magmatic-metallogenic belt of southern Hunan, and represent the large-scale metallogeny in middle Yanshanian in the area. 6Improvement of tree-like network constructal method for heat conduction optimization显示文摘The analysis of the “tree-like network” construct method has been repeated. The high effective conduction channel distribution has been optimized again, without the premise that the new order assembly construct must be assembled by the optimized last order construct. It is proved that the “tree-like network” construct method is faultiness. A more optimal construct is obtained, and when the thermal conductivity and the proportion of the two heat conduction materials are constant, the limit of the minimum heat resistance is derived. 8The role of high mobility group box 1(HMGB1)in the pathogenesis of kidney diseases显示文摘High mobility group box 1(HMGB1) is a nuclear protein that can bind to DNA and act as a co-factor for gene transcription. When released into extracellular fluid, it plays a proinflammatory role by acting as a damage-associated molecular pattern molecule(DAMP)(also known as an alarmin) to initiate innate immune responses by activating multiple cell surface receptors such as the receptor for advanced glycation end-products(RAGE) and toll-like receptors(TLRs), TLR2, TLR4 or TLR9. This proinflammatory role is now considered to be important in the pathogenesis of a wide range of kidney diseases whether they result from hemodynamic changes, renal tubular epithelial cell apoptosis, kidney tissue fibrosis or inflammation. 9Mineralization episode of porphyry copper deposits in the Jinshajiang-Red River mineralization belt: Re-Os dating显示文摘Re-Os isotopic dating for the molybdenites from the porphyry copper deposits of the Jinshajiang-Red River mineralization belt in Yunnan Province yields isochron ages of 33.9±1.1 Ma for the Machangqing deposit and 34.4±0.5 Ma for the Tongchang deposit. This result shows that both the Machangqing and the Tongchang porphyry Cu-Mo deposits from two different ore-fields formed simultaneously. This new data and the published Re-Os model ages of molybdenite (35.4 Ma, 35.9 Ma, 36.2 Ma) of the Yulong porphyry copper deposit in Tibet, which is located in the same Jinshajiang-Red River mineralization belt as the Machangqing deposit and the Tongchang deposit, suggest that these three Cenozoic porphyry copper deposits in the Jinshajiang-Red River mineralization belt were contemporary for their mineralization episode. 10Review on photocatalytic and electrocatalytic artificial nitrogen fixation for ammonia synthesis at mild conditions: Advances,challenges and perspectives显示文摘The ammonia synthesis from nitrogen and water under ambient conditions is one of the most inviting but challenging reaction routes.Although nitrogen is abundant in the atmosphere and the ammonia synthesis reaction is exothermic on the thermodynamics,the conversion of N2 to ammonia is actually hard to proceed owing to the chemical inertness and stability of N2 molecules.In industry,ammonia synthesis is carried out by the Haber-Bosch process under harsh conditions (300-500 ℃,20-30 MPa) associated with the requirement of substantial energy input and the enormous emission of greenhouse gases (e.g.,CO2).Recently,a growing number of studies on photo(electro)catalytic and electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR) in aqueous solution have attracted extensive attention,which holds great promise for nitrogen fixation under room temperature and atmospheric pressure.However,the very low efficiency and ambiguous mechanism still remain as the major hurdles for the development of photochemical and electrochemical NRR systems.Here we provide an overview of the latest progresses,remaining challenges and future prospects in photocatalytic and electrocatalytic nitrogen fixation.Moreover,this review offers a helpful guidance for the reasonable design of photocatalysts and electrocatalysts towards NRR by combining theory predictions and experiment results.We hope this review can stimulate more research interests in the relatively understudied but highly promising research field of NRR.Xiaolan Xue Renpeng Chen Changzeng Yan Peiyang Zhao Yi Hu Wenjun Zhang Songyuan Yang Zhong Jin 2019Nano Research2019,12,6:20

13Evolution of Sedimentation and Tectonics of the Youjiang Composite Basin, South China显示文摘Located at the southern margin of the South China plate, the Youjiang basin is a closely related to the NW- and NE-trending syndepositional faults in respect to the configuration and structure of the basin. The evolution of the Youjiang basin progressed through two stages. In the Hercynian period, the opening of the Ailaoshan-Honghe ocean basin gave rise to a number of NW-trending rift belts in the Youjiang area. During this period, deep-water sediments were dominant and the basin was possesed of the characteristics of the rift system of passive continental margins. In the early Indosinian after the Dongwu movement, the circum - Pacific tectonism led to a major change in the configuration and structure of the basin. In the meantime, the Ailaoshan ocean basin began to be subducted towards the northeast, thus causing the basin to be split and expand again, and then the basin developed into the stage of the back -arc basin. 15Comparisons between centrifuge and numerical modeling results for slope toppling failure显示文摘This paper presents series studies on the toppling mechanism by centrifuge tests and numerical simulations. Two different discrete element methods, i.e., the continuum-based discrete element method(CDEM) and the discontinuous deformation analysis(DDA), are adopted. The modeling results show that both the methods can accurately capture the failure modes of the centrifuge tests, including three distinct zones and two failure surfaces. Comparisons are made between the physical test and numerical simulation results. The critical inclination angle of the tilting table where the slope models are fixed on can be moderately predicted by the two methods, with different degrees of precision. The error between the test results and the simulated results is within 1% for the slope models without rock-bridges by both CDEM and DDA. However, it is amplified for the staggered-joint models that simulate the rock-bridges. With DDA, the average error is about 5%, and the maximum error is up to 17%. While with CDEM, the errors for the aligned-joint models are ranged from 1% to 6%, and it is from 10% to 29% for the staggered-joint models. The two numerical methods show the capability in simulating toppling failure of blocky rock mass with and without rock-bridges. The model with rock-bridges which provides a certain bending resistance is more stable than the one without any rock-bridge. 19Enhancing plant-microbe associated bioremediation of phenanthrene and pyrene contaminated soil by SDBS-Tween 80 mixed surfactants显示文摘The use of surfactants to enhance plant-microbe associated dissipation in soils contaminated with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) is a promising bioremediation technology. This comparative study was conducted on the effects of plant-microbe treatment on the removal of phenanthrene and pyrene from contaminated soil, in the presence of low concentration single anionic, nonionic and anionic-nonionic mixed surfactants. Sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate(SDBS) and Tween 80 were chosen as representative anionic and nonionic surfactants, respectively. We found that mixed surfactants with concentrations less than 150 mg/kg were more effective in promoting plant-microbe associated bioremediation than the same amount of single surfactants. Only about(m/m) of mixed surfactants was needed to remove the same amount of phenanthrene and pyrene from either the planted or unplanted soils, when compared to Tween 80. Mixed surfactants(< 150 mg/kg) better enhanced the degradation efficiency of phenanthrene and pyrene via microbe or plant-microbe routes in the soils. In the concentration range of 60–150 mg/kg, both ryegrass roots and shoots could accumulate 2–3 times the phenanthrene and pyrene with mixed surfactants than with Tween 80. These results may be explained by the lower sorption loss and reduced interfacial tension of mixed surfactants relative to Tween 80, which enhanced the bioavailability of PAHs in soil and the microbial degradation efficiency. 20Discovery and preliminary study of the high tungsten and lithium contents in the Dazhuyuan bauxite deposit, Guizhou, China显示文摘Bauxite in China remains an urgently needed resource largely dependent on imports. Based on the study of the newly-discovered Dazhuyuan bauxite deposit in northeastern Guizhou, we have found new enrichment of tungsten and lithium in bauxite, with the highest WO 3 content up to 0.33% and the highest Li 2 O content up to 0.58%. The present paper reports the initial result, and the spatial distribution feature of W and Li in the ore body (with Li enriched mostly in the north part of the west limb of the Liyuan syncline, whereas W enriched mostly in the central part of the east limb).
