1Kirigami-inspired,highly stretchable microsupercapacitor patches fabricated by laser conversion and cutting显示文摘The recent developments in material sciences and rational structural designs have advanced the field of compliant and deformable electronics systems.However,many of these systems are limited in either overall stretchability or areal coverage of functional components.Here,we design a construct inspired by Kirigami for highly deformable microsupercapacitor patches with high areal coverages of electrode and electrolyte materials.These patches can be fabricated in simple and efficient steps by laser-assisted graphitic conversion and cutting.Because the Kirigami cuts significantly increase structural compliance,segments in the patches can buckle,rotate,bend and twist to accommodate large overall deformations with only a small strain(<3%)in active electrode areas.Electrochemical testing results have proved that electrical and electrochemical performances are preserved under large deformation,with less than 2%change in capacitance when the patch is elongated to 382.5%of its initial length.The high design flexibility can enable various types of electrical connections among an array of supercapacitors residing in one patch,by using different Kirigami designs.Renxiao Xu Anton Zverev Aaron Hung Caiwei Shen Lauren Irie Geoffrey Ding Michael Whitmeyer Liangjie Ren Brandon Griffin Jack Melcher Lily Zheng Xining Zang Mohan Sanghadasa Liwei Lin 2018Microsystems & Nanoengineering2018,4,1:6
2Prospective study of probiotic supplementation results in immune stimulation and improvement of upper respiratory infection rate显示文摘The human gut microbiota is an important environmental factor for human health with evolutionarily conserved roles in immunity,metabolism,development,and behavior of the host.Probiotic organisms are claimed to offer several functional properties including stimulation of immune system.The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of a probiotic supplementation on adult volunteers who have contracted the common cold four or more times in the past year.This study is a single center,doubleblind,randomized,controlled,prospective trial.Subjects received a probiotic drink containing Lactobacillus paracasei(at least 3×10^7 colony forming units(CFU)ml^-1),Lactobacillus casei 431®(at least 3×10^7 CFU ml1)and Lactobacillus fermentium PCC®(at least 3×10^6 CFU ml^-1)or an identical placebo without probiotics for a 12-week study period.The consumption of probiotics significantly reduced the incidence of upper respiratory infection(p<0.023)and flu-like symptoms with an oral temperature higher than 38℃(p<0.034)as compared to the placebo group.Subjects that consumed probiotics demonstrated a significantly higher level of IFN-g in the serum(p<0.001)and sIgA in the gut(p<0.010)as compared to the placebo group and a significant higher level of serum IFN-g(p<0.001)and gut sIgA(p<0.001)as compared to their baseline test results.In contrast,there were no significant differences in the serum IL-4,IL-10,IgA,IgG or IgM between the probiotics and the placebo groups.Results of this study demonstrated that probiotics were safe and effective for fighting the common cold and influenza-like respiratory infections by boosting the immune system.Hong Zhang Chiajung Yeh Zonglian Jin Liwei Ding Bryan Y.Liu Li Zhang H.Kathleen Dannelly 2018Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2018,3,2:5
3Aggregation-induced emission luminogen-assisted stimulated emission depletion nanoscopy for super-resolution mitochondrial visualization in live cells显示文摘Aggregation-induced emission luminogens (AIEgens) are fluorescent agents thatare ideal for bioimaging and have been widely used for organeUe targeting, cellularmapping, and tracing. Owing to their promising characteristics, AIEgen-basednanoparticles have recently been used for the stimulated emission depletion(STED) super-resolution imaging of fixed cells. In the present study, and for thefirst time, we used an AIEgen for dynamic STED nanoscopic imaging of a specificorganelle in live cancer cells. TPA-T-CyP is a synthetic red&NIR-emittingluminogen with AIE features that can spontaneously and specifically aggregateon mitochondria without the need for encapsulation or surface modification.The STED efficiency of aggregated TPA-T-CyP can reach more than 80%, andsuper-resolution imaging of TPA-T-CyP-stained mitochondria in live HeLa cellsis possible, with a lateral spatial resolution of 74 nm. 5Achieving long-cycling sodium-ion full cells in ether-based electrolyte with vinylene carbonate additive显示文摘Application of sodium-ion batteries is suppressed due to the lack of appropriate electrolytes matching cathode and anode simultaneously.Ether-based electrolytes,preference of anode materials,cannot match with high-potential cathodes failing to apply in full cells.Herein,vinylene carbonate(VC)as an additive into NaCF_(3) SO_(3)-Diglyme(DGM)could make sodium-ion full cells applicable without preactivation of cathode and anode.The assembled FeS@C||Na3 V2(PO_(4))_(3)@C full cell with this electrolyte exhibits long term cycling stability and high capacity retention.The deduced reason is additive VC,whose HOMO level value is close to that of DGM,not only change the solvent sheath structure of Na^(+),but also is synergistically oxidized with DGM to form integrity and consecutive cathode electrolyte interphase on Na3 V2(PO_(4))_(3)@C cathode,which could effectively improve the oxidative stability of electrolyte and prevent the electrolyte decomposition.This work displays a new way to optimize the sodium-ion full cell seasily with bright practical application potential.Juan Shi Lina Ding Yanhua Wan Liwei Mi Linjie Chen Dan Yang Yuxiong Hu Weihua Chen 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,6:4
6Characterization of different-Al-content AlGaN/GaN heterostructures on sapphire显示文摘Al x Ga 1-x N/GaN high-electron-mobility transistor (HEMT) structures with Al composition ranging from x = 0.13 to 0.36 are grown on sapphire substrates by low-pressure metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (LP-MOCVD). The effects of Al content on crystal quality, surface morphology, optical and electrical characteristics of the AlGaN/GaN heterostructures have been analyzed. Although high Al-content (36%) heterostructure exhibits a distinguished photoluminescence peak related to recombination between the two-dimensional electron gas and photoexcited holes (2DEG-h), its crystal quality and rough surface morphology are poor. 2DEG mobility increases with the Al content up to 26% and then it apparently decreases for high Al-content (36%) AlGaN/GaN heterostructure. The increase of sheet carrier density with the increase of Al content has been observed. A high mobility at room temperature of 2105 cm 2 /V s with a sheet carrier density of n s = 1.10 × 10 13 cm -2 , for a 26% Al-content AlGaN/GaN heterostructure has been obtained, which is approaching state-of-the-art for HEMT grown on SiC. 7Sensing carboxylesterase 1 in living systems by a practical and isoformspecific fluorescent probe显示文摘Carboxylesterase 1(CES1), one of the most abundant serine hydrolases in mammals, has drawn much attentions in recent years, owing to this enzyme involves in many physiological processes via hydrolysis of both endogenous esters and xenobiotic esters. Herein, to real-time monitor the activities of CES1 in various biological systems, a practical and iso form-specific fluorescent probe was developed on the basis of the substrate preference of CES1, as well as the structural and optical properties of BODIPY dyes. After screening of a panel of BODIPY ester derivatives, probe 1 displayed the best combination of specificity,sensitivity, enzymatic kinetics and applicability for monitoring CES1 activities in real samples. This probe was successfully used to detect CESl activities in several biological systems including tissue preparations,living cells, tissue slices and zebrafish. Furthermore, the biomedical applications of probe 1 for screening of CES1 inhibitors were also demonstrated using tissue preparations or living cells as enzyme sources. 10Recent progress on fabrication and flat-band physics in 2D transition metal dichalcogenides moiré superlattices显示文摘Moiré superlattices are formed when overlaying two materials with a slight mismatch in twist angle or lattice constant. They provide a novel platform for the study of strong electronic correlations and non-trivial band topology, where emergent phenomena such as correlated insulating states, unconventional superconductivity, and quantum anomalous Hall effect are discovered. In this review, we focus on the semiconducting transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs) based moiré systems that host intriguing flat-band physics. We first review the exfoliation methods of two-dimensional materials and the fabrication technique of their moiré structures. Secondly, we overview the progress of the optically excited moiré excitons, which render the main discovery in the early experiments on TMD moiré systems. We then introduce the formation mechanism of flat bands and their potential in the quantum simulation of the Hubbard model with tunable doping, degeneracies, and correlation strength. 11Mechanism of capture section affecting an intake for atmosphere-breathing electric propulsion显示文摘Atmosphere-Breathing Electric Propulsion(ABEP)can compensate for lost momentum of spacecraft operating in Very Low Earth Orbit(VLEO)which has been widely concerned due to its excellent commercial potential.It is a key technology to improve the capture efficiency of intakes,which collect and compress the atmosphere for ABEP.In this paper,the mechanism of the capture section affecting capture efficiency is investigated by Test Particle Monte Carlo(TPMC)simulations with 3D intake models.The inner surface smoothness and average collision number are determined to be key factors affecting capture efficiency,and a negative effect growth model is accordingly established.When the inner surface smoothness is less than 0.2,the highest capture efficiency and its corresponding average collision number interval are independent of the capture section’s geometry and its mesh size.When the inner surface smoothness is higher than 0.2,the capture efficiency will decrease by installing any capture section.Based on the present results,the manufacturing process and material selection are suggested to be prioritized during the intake geometry design in engineering projects.Then,the highest capture efficiency can be achieved by adjusting the length and mesh size of the capture section.Siyuan ZHANG Jinyuan YANG Cheng LI Haolin LI Liwei ZHANG Liang DING Anbang SUN 2024Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2024,37,1:0

13Management of major vascular injury in laparoscopic urology显示文摘Objective:During the past three decades,laparoscopy has played a significant role in the management of urological disorders.This study aims to standardize the management of major vascular injury,which is a life-threatening complication in the laparoscopic urological procedures.Methods:A total of 8210 patients with the urological disorder,who underwent laparoscopic surgery at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital from January 2000 to December 2018,were included in this retrospective study.Patients’data of the laparoscopic major vascular injury were collected and analyzed,and the basic principles of the procedure were summarized.Results:A total of 15(0.18%)cases of major vascular injury were found among the 8210 patients,and 2 of them were converted to open surgery.Although the type of laparoscopic surgery,causes,and management of major vascular injury among the patients were diverse,the main management strategies of major vascular injury in laparoscopic surgery were to keep the vision clear,control bleeding rapidly by clamping and compression,make full preparation for possibly needed liquid resuscitation,and try best to repair under laparoscope.If necessary,converse to open surgery.Conclusion:Although the reported incidence of major vascular injury in laparoscopic urological surgery is extremely low,such injury can result in high morbidity and mortality.It is important to rapidly identify the cause and strictly follow the standardized management for better outcomes.Sheng Cheng Qiming Zheng Liwei Xu Weiping Zhao Gonghui Li Guoqing Ding 2020Laparoscopic, Endoscopic and Robotic Surgery2020,3,4:0
14Discovery and structure-activity relationship studies of novel tetrahydro-β-carboline derivatives as apoptosis initiators for treating bacterial infections显示文摘Developing and excavating new agrochemicals with highly active and safe is an important tactic for protecting crop health and food safety.In this paper,to discover the new bactericide candidates,we designed,prepared a new type of1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-β-carboline(THC)derivatives and evaluated the in vitro and in vivo bioactivities against the Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae(Xoo),Xanthomonas axonopodis pv.citri(Xac),and Pseudomonas syringae pv.actinidiae(Psa).The in vitro bioassay results exhibited that most title molecules possessed good activity toward the three plant pathogenic bacteria,the compound A17 showed the most active against Xoo and Xac with EC50 values of 7.27 and 4.89 mg mL^(-1)respectively,and compound A8 exhibited the best inhibitory activity against Psa with EC50value of 4.87 mg mL^(-1).Pot experiments showed that compound A17 exhibited excellent in vivo antibacterial activities to manage rice bacterial leaf blight and citrus bacterial canker,with protective efficiencies of 52.67 and 79.79%at 200 mgmL^(-1),respectively.Meanwhile,compound A8 showed good control efficiency(84.31%)against kiwifruit bacterial canker at 200 mg mL^(-1).Antibacterial mechanism suggested that these compounds could interfere with the balance of the redox system,damage the cell membrane,and induce the apoptosis of Xoo cells.Taken together,our study revealed that tetrahydro-β-carboline derivatives could be a promising candidate model for novel broadspectrum bactericides.Shanshan Su Hongwu Liu Junrong Zhang Puying Qi Yue Ding Ling Zhang Linli Yang Liwei Liu Xiang Zhou Song Yang 2024Journal of Integrative Agriculture2024,23,4:0
15Epidemiological characteristics and clinical manifestations of pediatric patients with COVID-19 in China: A multicenter retrospective study显示文摘Importance:The Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)global pandemic poses a considerable challenge for pediatricians.Objective:This study aimed to identify the epidemiological characteristics and clinical features of pediatric patients with COVID-19 in China.Methods:This multicenter retrospective study included pediatric patients from 46 hospitals in China,covering 12 provinces and two municipalities.Epidemiological,demographic,clinical,laboratory,treatment,and outcome data were analyzed.Results:In total,211 pediatric patients with COVID-19 were included in this study.The median age was 7.0 years(range:22 days to 18 years).Approximately 16.3%of the patients exhibited asymptomatic infections,23.0%had upper respiratory tract infections,and 60.7%had pneumonia,including two with severe pneumonia and one with critical illness.Approximately 78.7%of the pediatric patients occurred in familial clusters.The most three common symptoms or signs at onset in children with COVID-19 were fever(54.5%),cough(49.3%),and pharyngeal congestion(20.8%).Only 17.6%of the patients presented with decreased lymphocyte count,whereas 13.6%had increased lymphocyte count.Among the patients with pneumonia who exhibited abnormal chest computed tomography findings,18.2%(23/127)of the patients had no other symptoms.Generally,the chest radiographs showed abnormalities that affected both lungs(49.6%);ground-glass opacity(47.2%)was the most common manifestation.The cure and improvement rates were 86.7%(183/211)and 13.3%(28/211),respectively.Only one patient with an underlying condition received invasive mechanical ventilation;none of the patients died.Interpretation:Similar to adults,children of all age groups are susceptible to COVID-19.Fortunately,most pediatric patients have mild symptoms or remain asymptomatic,despite the high incidence of pneumonia.Decreased proportions of white blood cells and lymphocytes are less frequent in children than in adults.Yan Bai Liwei Gao Xianfeng Wang Lili Zhong Jingfeng Li Shenggang Ding Yuejie Zheng Jun Liu Yuxia Cui Lina Wang Mingfeng Han Jun Liu Xinping Jiang Min Jiang Junhua Li Ning Chen Yunxiao Shang Hourong Zhou Yi Xu Gen Lu Xing Chen Jizhi Xu Qihong Fan Yu Tang Jiang Wu Cen Li Xiaoxiang Yang Chunxi Chen Yonghong Yang Gary Wing-Kin Wong Adong Shen Tianyou Wang Runming Jin Baoping Xu Kunling Shen 2021Pediatric Investigation2021,5,3:0
