1Effectiveness of predicting tunneling-induced ground settlements using machine learning methods with small datasets显示文摘Prediction of tunneling-induced ground settlements is an essential task,particularly for tunneling in urban settings.Ground settlements should be limited within a tolerable threshold to avoid damages to aboveground structures.Machine learning(ML)methods are becoming popular in many fields,including tunneling and underground excavations,as a powerful learning and predicting technique.However,the available datasets collected from a tunneling project are usually small from the perspective of applying ML methods.Can ML algorithms effectively predict tunneling-induced ground settlements when the available datasets are small?In this study,seven ML methods are utilized to predict tunneling-induced ground settlement using 14 contributing factors measured before or during tunnel excavation.These methods include multiple linear regression(MLR),decision tree(DT),random forest(RF),gradient boosting(GB),support vector regression(SVR),back-propagation neural network(BPNN),and permutation importancebased BPNN(PI-BPNN)models.All methods except BPNN and PI-BPNN are shallow-structure ML methods.The effectiveness of these seven ML approaches on small datasets is evaluated using model accuracy and stability.The model accuracy is measured by the coefficient of determination(R2)of training and testing datasets,and the stability of a learning algorithm indicates robust predictive performance.Also,the quantile error(QE)criterion is introduced to assess model predictive performance considering underpredictions and overpredictions.Our study reveals that the RF algorithm outperforms all the other models with the highest model prediction accuracy(0.9)and stability(3.0210^(-27)).Deep-structure ML models do not perform well for small datasets with relatively low model accuracy(0.59)and stability(5.76).The PI-BPNN architecture is proposed and designed for small datasets,showing better performance than typical BPNN.Six important contributing factors of ground settlements are identified,including tunnel depth,the distance between tunnel face and surface monitoring points(DTM),weighted average soil compressibility modulus(ACM),grouting pressure,penetrating rate and thrust force.Linan Liu Wendy Zhou Marte Gutierrez 2022Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2022,14,4:5
2Effect of 1,2,4-triazole on galvanic corrosion between cobalt and copper in CMP based alkaline slurry显示文摘Cobalt has become a new type of barrier material with its unique advantages since the copper-interconnects in the great-large scale integrated circuits(GLSI)into 10 nm and below technical nodes,but cobalt and copper have severe galvanic corrosion during chemical–mechanical flattening.The effect of 1,2,4-triazole on Co/Cu galvanic corrosion in alkaline slurry and the control of rate selectivity of copper and cobalt were investigated in this work.The results of electrochemical experiments and polishing experiments had indicated that a certain concentration of 1,2,4-triazole could form a layer of insoluble and dense passive film on the surface of cobalt and copper,which reduced the corrosion potential difference between cobalt and copper.Meantime,the removal rate of cobalt and copper could be effectively controlled according to demand during the CMP process.When the study optimized slurry was composed of 0.5 wt%colloidal silica,0.1%vol.hydrogen peroxide,0.05 wt%FA/O,345 ppm1,2,4-triazole,cobalt had higher corrosion potential than copper and the galvanic corrosion could be reduced effectively when the corrosion potential difference between them decreased to 1 mV and the galvanic corrosion current density reached 0.02 nMeanwhile,the removal rate of Co was 62.396 nm/min,the removal rate of Cu was 47.328 nm/min,so that the removal rate ratio of cobalt and copper was 1.32:1,which was a good amendment to the dishing pits.The contact potential corrosion of Co/Cu was very weak,which could be better for meeting the requirements of the barrier CMP.Lei Fu Yuling Liu Chenwei Wang Linan Han 2018Journal of Semiconductors2018,39,4:4
3Preparation and evaluation of sustained-release diltiazem hydrochloride pellets显示文摘In this study,diltiazem hydrochloride(DTZ)pellets were prepared successfully by extrusionespheronization method.Then methacrylic acid and ethylcellulose coating formulations were employed to make the DTZ pellets sustained release.The pellets with different coatings were investigated by in vitro dissolution tests.At last,the pellets with the best coating copolymer were subjected to pharmacokinetic studies in beagle dogs.The dissolution profiles of pellets coated with EudragitNE30D were similar to Herbesser,one of the marketed sustained release capsules.In the bioavailability study,the principal pharmacokinetic parameters of self-made pellets and the marketed ones were comparable;the relative bioavailability of DTZ sustained release capsules compared with Herbesserwas 98.536.4%.All the data indicated self-made sustained pellets could prolong the release of DTZ,decrease the fluctuation of drug level in vivo,and increase the compliance of patients.Xiaopeng Han Linan Wang Yinghua Sun Xiaohong Liu Wanjun Liu Yuqian Du Lin Li Jin Sun 2013Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2013,8,4:3
4Doxorubicin-loaded zein in situ gel for interstitial chemotherapy of colorectal cancer显示文摘The aim of this research was to evaluate doxorubicin(DOX)-loaded zein in situ gels,a new drug delivery system in which a liquid state drug can be transformed into semi-solid after intratumoral injection.In vitro release of DOX-loaded zein was investigated and the pharmacokinetics,biodistribution and therapeutic efficacy of these DOX-loaded zein formulations were investigated using BAI B/c nude tumor-bearing mice.In vitro release of DOX from the gels extended up to 7 days.Efficient accumulation of DOX in the tumor with lower drug concentration in blood and normal organs was obtained resulting in effective inhibition of tumor growth and fewer off-target side effects.In conclusion,a DOX-loaded in situ gel was developed with sustained release,enhanced anti-cancer efficacy for colorectal cancer in vivo,and especially with reduced off-target side effects.Ning Shen Jie Hu Linan Zhang Li Zhang Yongjun Sun Yinghua Xie Shaomei Wu Lei Liu Zibin Gao 2012Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2012,2,6:3
5Ecological stoichiometry of nitrogen, phosphorous, and sulfur in China's forests显示文摘Much attention has been paid to the stoichiometry of carbon(C), nitrogen(N), and phosphorus(P) because of their significance for plant growth and climate change. However, other nutrients, such as sulfur(S), are often ignored. In this study, we analyzed the stoichiometry of N, P, and S in leaves of 348 plant species in China's forests. The results show higher N content and higher molar ratios of N/P and P/S in Angiospermae than in Gymnospermae. At the family level, Ulmaceae absorbed more N and P from soils than other families, and Cupressaceae absorbed more S than other families. In addition,except for bamboo and other tropical forests, leaf N and P content of China's forests generally increased from low to middle latitudes and then slightly decreased or plateaued at high latitudes. 6NACC-1 regulates hepatocellular carcinoma cell malignancy and is targeted by miR-760显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the most prominent form of presentation in liver cancer.It is also the fourth most common cause of cancer-associated deaths globally.The role of nucleus accumbens associated protein-1(NACC-1)has been evaluated in several cancers.This protein is a transcriptional regulator that regulates a number of significant cellular processes.In the current study,we aimed to understand the role of NACC-1 in HCC.Primarily,we measured the expression of NACC-1 using quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction and western blot analysis.We knocked down the expression of NACC-1 in HCC cell lines Huh7 and HepG2 by transferring a commercially synthesized small interfering RNA and explored the impact of NACC-1 knockdown on cellular growth,migration,invasion,and chemoresistance to doxorubicin.Through bioinformatic analysis,we identified NACC-1 as a potential target of miR-760.Using a dual reporter luciferase assay,we confirmed the predicted target and assessed miR-760-mediated regulation of NACC-1 and rescue of tumorigenic phenotypes.We observed increased expression of NACC-1 in HCC.Furthermore,knockdown of NACC-1 resulted in reduced cell proliferation and invasion and increased susceptibility to doxorubicin-mediated chemosensitivity.Overexpression of miR-760 in HCC cell lines rescued NACC-1-mediated migration and invasion.We revealed that miR-760 regulated NACC-1 expression in HCC.Our data indicated that both miR-760 and NACC-1 could be used as prognostic markers,and miR-760 may have therapeutic benefits for HCC and other cancers.Linan Yin Tingting Sun Ruibao Liu 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,3:2
7Effects of land-use and climate change on sediment and nutrient retention in Guizhou,China显示文摘Introduction:Sediment and nutrient retention have significant impacts on agricultural productivity and water quality.Obvious changes of climate and land-use have deeply affected freshwater ecosystem services in the last several decades.Nevertheless,it is unclear what the differences are in the impact of climate and land-use changes on freshwater ecosystem services.Outcomes:The impacts of climate and land-use change on sediment and nutrient retention(two essential freshwater ecosystem services)were evaluated with the help of the Integrated Valuation of Environmental Services and Tradeoffs(InVEST)model.The results from the study area suggest a decreasing trend in sediment and nutrient retention from 1995 to 2015 when climate and land-use were changed simultaneously.A decreasing trend in sediment retention and an increasing trend in nutrient retention were presented under scenario A(climate change from 1995 to 2015 with land-use unchanged),while the sediment exported and nutrient retention exhibited a decreasing trend except sediment retained under scenario B(land-use change from 1995 to 2015 with unchanged climate).Rainfall erosivity and soil erodibility were more sensitive to the output of sediment retention,while retention efficiency produced more of an effect on nutrient retention.Discussion and Conclusion:Climate change played a dominant role in the change in sediment retention,while land-use change had a more significant effect on nutrient retention change than climate change.The results of this study provide explicitinformation for land-use managers to reduce the negative effects associated with sediment and nutrient retention.Huiqing Han Jianqiang Yang Geng Ma Yue Liu Linan Zhang Siying Chen Shuliang Ma 2020Ecosystem Health and Sustainability2020,6,1:1
8Systemic PCD occurs in TMV-tomato interaction显示文摘In hypersensitive response (HR), programmed cell death (PCD) is reported as a powerful defense mechanism in plant immune responses to pathogen. However, little is known about the PCD in sys-temic acquired resistance (SAR). Using tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) to infect the tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum cv. Jiafen 16) we found that localized TMV-infection could induce cell death in the uninoculated parts of the tomatoes, where the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) showed no spreading virus. The biological and molecular characterization of this cell death was shown as fol-lowing: chromatin condensed and formed peripheral conglomeration in nuclei; cell nucleus were TUNEL positive labeled; genomic DNA was fragmented and showed DNA laddering; mitochondria and chloroplast were disrupted; tonoplast and plasma membrane were shrunk and degradated. These re-sults suggested that with an absence of TMV spread, the local TMV-infection on certain tomato leaves could induce systemic PCD in the root-tips, stem-apices and uninoculated leaves. 10Strengthening Mechanisms of 15 vol.% Al_(2)O_(3) Nanoparticles Reinforced Aluminum Matrix Nanocomposite Fabricated by High Energy Ball Milling and Vacuum Hot Pressing显示文摘Increasing nanoparticle volume fraction has been proved to be effective in improving the strength of nanoparticle reinforced Al matrix nanocomposite. However, the underlying mechanisms for the ultrahigh strength of those nanocomposites with high volume fraction(> 10 vol.%) nanoparticles are short of experimental research. In this study, the strengthening mechanisms of high strength Al matrix nanocomposite reinforced with 15 vol.% Al_(2)O_(3) nanoparticles were investigated experimentally and analyzed theoretically. The results show that the thermal mismatch induced geometrically necessary dislocations exhibit a negligible strengthening effect, because of their low density in the nanocomposite that is contradiction to the conventional dislocation punch model. Orowan mechanism makes a major strengthening contribution in view of the deformation process dominated by nanoparticle-dislocation interactions due to the extreme pinning effect of nanoparticles on dislocation motion. 11Electrical-field induced nonlinear conductive behavior in dense zirconia ceramic显示文摘The effect of the applied electric field on the conductive behavior of zirconia ceramics is studied by measuring its initial current-voltage curve at various temperatures. The results show that when the field strength is higher than the threshold for flash-sintering, the curves exhibit a nonlinear behavior by having an additional current on top of the linear current according to Ohm's law. Analyzing its transport behavior reveals that the additional current density is due to the extra oxygen vacancies induced by the electric field. 15Analysis of Lymph Node Metastases of 1,526 Cases with Thoracic Esophageal and Cardiac Carcinomas: A Random Sampling Report froni the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University from 1996 to 2004显示文摘OBJECTIVE To summarize the regular pattern and state oflymph node metastasis of patients with esophageal and cardiaccarcinomas,so as to analyze factors influencing lymph nodemetastasis.METHODS Clinical data collected from 1,526 thoracicesophageal and cardiac carcinoma patients who were admitted inthe Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University during a periodfrom January 1996 to December 2004,were randomly selectedand an Access Database of the patient's information was set up.Eight clinico-pathologic factors,including the patient's age,tumorlocation and size,pathological classification,the depth of tumorinvasion,vascular tumor embolus (VTE),the state of surroundingorgan encroachment and the status of tumor residues,wereidentified.A correlation between these factors and metastases wasstatistically analyzed using SPSS13.0 software.RESULTS Lymph node metastatic sites from esophagealcarcinomas included the thoracic and abdominal cavity.Lymphnode metastasis from the superior esophageal carcinomasmainly occurred in the neck and thoracic cavity.There was atwo-way lymph node metastasis in the patients with the middleesophageal carcinoma.The inferior esophageal carcinomas mainlymetastasized to the paraesophageal,paragastric cardia,and leftgastric artery lymph nodes.The rate and degree of the metastasisfrom the inferior esophageal carcinomas were significantly highercompared to those of the superior and the middle esophagealcarcinomas (P<0.0125).The degree of abdominal lymph node metastasis fromcarcinomas of the gastric cardia was significantly higher comparedwith that of esophageal carcinomas.In the group with carcinomaof the gastric cardia,the rate and degree of the lymph nodemetastases in the paragastric cardia and left gastric artery weresignificantly higher compared to the group with esophagealcarcinoma (P<0.05).Paraesophageal lymph node metastasis fromcarcinomas of the gastric cardia in the thoracic cavity frequentlyoccurred,too,and the degree of the metastasis was similar to thatof esophageal carcinoma.There was no significant difference inthe rate and degree of the paraesophageal lymph-node metastasisbetween the group with carcinoma of the gastric cardia comparedto those with esophageal carcinoma (P>0.05).Multifactoriallogistic regression analysis showed that the tumor size,depth oftumor encroachment,VTE,and tumor residues could all bringabout obvious impact on lymph-node metastases (P<0.05).CONCLUSION Lymph node metastasis from superioresophageal carcinomas mainly occurs in the neck and thoraciccavity.The middle esophageal carcinomas presented a two-waylymph-node metastasis (both the upwards and the downwards),and the lymph node metastasis from inferior esophagealcarcinomas mainly occurred in the thoracic and abdominal cavities.The metastases of carcinoma of the gastriccardia were most commonly found in the abdominalcavity,with frequent paraesophageal lymph-nodemetastasis.The sufficient attention should be paidto neck lymph node clearance in cases of esophagealcarcinoma.What is of the greatest concern is theclearance of the left gastric artery lymph nodes,andalso in cases of gastric cardia carcinoma,clearance,the paraesophageal lymph nodes.With an increasein the tumor size and depth of tumor encroachment,and occurrence of VTE and tumor residual cells,therisk of lymph node metastasis is significantly raised (P<0.05).Wei Liu Xishan Hao Yong Chen Haixin Li Shijie Wang Peizhong Wang Hng Jin Liyun Guan Qian Fan Linan Song Yumin Ping Xianli Meng Rui Wang Junfeng Liu Xiaoling Wang 2008Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology2008,5,6:1
16Effects of topography and vegetation on distribution of rare earth elements in calcareous soils显示文摘This study investigated the impact of topography and vegetation on distribution of rare earth elements(REEs)in calcareous soils using methods of single extraction and mass balance calculation. The purposes of the study were to set a basis for further research on the biogeochemical REE cycle and to provide references for soil–water conservation and REE-containing fertilizer amendments. The results show a generally flat Post-Archean Average Australian Shale—normalized REE pattern for the studied calcareous soils. REE enrichment varied widely. The proportion of acidsoluble phases of heavy REEs was higher than that of light REEs. From top to bottom of the studied hills, dominant REE sources transitioned from limestone in-situ weathering to input from REE-containing phases(e.g., clay minerals,amorphous iron, REE-containing fluids). 19Deformation and failure behavior of heterogeneous Mg/SiC nanocomposite under compression显示文摘The heterogeneous magnesium(Mg) matrix nanocomposite with dispersed soft phase exhibits high strength and toughness. Herein, the deformation behavior and failure process were investigated to reveal the unique mechanical behavior of the heterogeneous microstructure under compression. The extensive plastic deformation is accompanied by the flattening and tilting of the soft phase, inhibiting strain localization and leading to strain hardening. Moreover, a stable crack multiplication process is activated, which endows high damage tolerance to the heterogeneous Mg matrix nanocomposites. The final failure of the composite is caused by crack coalescence in the shear plane along a tortuous path. The presence of dispersed soft phases within the hard matrix induces a noticeable change in mechanical response. Especially,the malleability of the heterogeneous Mg matrix nanocomposite is two and ten times higher than that of pure Mg and the homogeneous Mg matrix nanocomposite, respectively. 20An injectable alginate/fibrin hydrogel encapsulated with cardiomyocytes and VEGF for myocardial infarction treatment显示文摘Myocardial infarction(MI)is one of the typical cardiovascular diseases,which persist as the leading cause of death globally.Due to the poor regenerative capability of endogenous cardiomyocytes(CMs),the transplantation of exogenous CMs becomes a promising option for MI treatment.However,the low retention and survival of transplanted cells still limit the clinical translation of cell therapy.Herein,an alginate/fibrin-based injectable hydrogel was prepared for the delivery of neonatal CMs and an angiogen-esis agent vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)locally to the infarcted area of the heart.This hydro-gel combined the specific advantages of alginate and fibrin with proper mechanical properties and cell affinity,showing good biocompatibility to support the retention and integration of the transplanted CMs to the host myocardium.Moreover,the delivered VEGF was favorable for the blood recovery to mitigate the ischemic microenvironment of the infarcted area and thus improved the survival of the transplanted CMs.Intramyocardial injection of this hydrogel to the infarcted area of the heart promoted angiogenesis,inhibited fibrosis,and improved cardiac function,exhibiting great potential for MI treatment.Chunxia Liu Yong Wu Hong Yang Kunyan Lu Haixin Zhang Yuanyuan Wang Jingjing Wang Linan Ruan Zhenya Shen Qian Yu Yanxia Zhang 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,12:0
