1Study on the recovery of hydrogen from refinery (hydrogen+methane) gas mixtures using hydrate technology显示文摘A novel technique for separating hydrogen from (H2 + CH4) gas mixtures through hydrate formation/dissociation was proposed. In this work, a systematic experimental study was performed on the separation of hydrogen from (H2 + CH4) feed mixtures with various hydrogen contents (mole fraction x = 40%-90%). The experimental results showed that the hydrogen content could be enriched to as high as ~94% for various feed mixtures using the proposed hydrate technology under a temperature slightly above 0℃ and a pressure below 5.0 MPa. With the addition of a small amount of suitable additives, the rate of hydrate formation could be increased significantly. Anti-agglomeration was used to disperse hydrate particles into the condensate phase. Instead of preventing hydrate growth (as in the kinetic inhibitor tests), hydrates were allowed to form, but only as small dispersed particles. 2Segmentation of Hematoxylin-Eosin stained breast cancer histopathological images based on pixel-wise SVM classifier显示文摘Hematoxylin-Eosin(HE) staining is the routine diagnostic method for breast cancer(BC), and large amounts of HE stained histopathological images are available for analysis. It is emergent to develop computational methods to efficiently and objectively analyze these images, with the aim of providing potentially better diagnostic and prognostic information for BC. This work focuses on analyzing our in-house HE stained histopathological images of breast cancer tissues. Since tumor nests(TNs) and stroma morphological characteristics can reflect the biological behaviors of breast invasive ductal carcinoma(IDC), accurate segmentation of TNs and the stroma is the first step towards the subsequent quantitative analysis. We first propose a method based on the pixel-wise support vector machine(SVM) classifier for segmenting TNs and the stroma, then extract four morphological characters related to the TNs from the images and investigate their relationships with the patients' 8-year disease free survival(8-DFS). The evaluation result shows that the classification based segmentation method is able to distinguish between TNs and stroma with 87.1% accuracy and 80.2% precision,suggesting that the proposed method is promising in segmenting HE stained IDC histopathological images. 3Centrifugal model test on a riverine landslide in the Three Gorges Reservoir induced by rainfall and water level fluctuation显示文摘Frequent soil landslide events are recorded in the Three Gorges Reservoir area,China,making it necessary to investigate the failure mode of such riverside landslides.Geotechnical centrifugal test is considered to be the most realistic laboratory model,which can reconstruct the required geo-stress.In this study,the Liangshuijing landslide in the Three Gorgers Reservoir area is selected for a scaled centrifugal model experiment,and a water pump system is employed to retain the rainfall condition.Using the techniques of digital photography and pore water pressure transducers,water level fluctuation is controlled,and multi-physical data are thus obtained,including the pore water pressure,earth pressure,surface displacement and deep displacement.The analysis results indicate that:Three stages were set in the test(waterflooding stage,rainfall stage and drainage stage).Seven transverse cracks with wide of 1–5 mm appeared during the model test,of which 3 cracks at the toe landslide were caused by reservoir water fluctuation,and the cracks at the middle and rear part were caused by rainfall.During rainfall process,the maximum displacement of landslide model reaches 3 cm.And the maximum deformation of the model exceeds 12 cm at the drainage stage.The failure process of the slope model can be divided into four stages:microcracks appearance and propagation stage,thrust-type failure stage,retrogressive failure stage,and holistic failure stage.When the thrust-type zone caused by rainfall was connected or even overlapped with the retrogressive failure zone caused by the drainage,the landslide would start,which displayed a typical composite failure pattern.The failure mode and deformation mechanism under the coupling actions of water level fluctuation and rainfall are revealed in the model test,which could appropriately guide for the analysis and evaluation of riverside landslides.Fasheng Miao Yiping Wu Ákos Török Linwei Li Yang Xue 2022Geoscience Frontiers2022,13,3:3

7Engineered platelets-based drug delivery platform for targeted thrombolysis显示文摘Thrombolytic agents have thus far yielded limited therapeutic benefits in the treatment of thrombotic disease due to their short half-life,low targeting ability,and association with serious adverse reactions,such as bleeding complications.Inspired by the natural roles of platelets during thrombus formation,we fabricated a platelet-based delivery system(NO@uPA/PLTs)comprising urokinase(uPA)and arginine(Arg)for targeted thrombolysis and inhibition of re-embolism.The anchoring of uPA to the platelet surface by lipid insertion increased the thrombotic targeting and in vivo circulation duration of uPA without disturbing platelet functions.Nitric oxide(NO)generated by the loaded Arg inhibited platelet aggregation and activation at the damaged blood vessel,thereby inhibiting re-embolism.NO@uPA/PLTs effectively accumulated at the thrombi in pulmonary embolism and carotid artery thrombosis model mice and exerted superior thrombolytic efficacy.In addition,the platelet delivery system showed excellent thrombus recurrence prevention ability in a mouse model of secondary carotid artery injury.The coagulation indicators in vivo showed that the platelet-based uPA and NO co-delivery system possessed a low hemorrhagic risk,providing a promising tool for rapid thrombolysis and efficient inhibition of posttreatment re-embolism.Songli Wang Ruifeng Wang Nana Meng Linwei Lu Jun Wang Jianfen Zhou Jiasheng Lu Qianzhu Xu Cao Xie Changyou Zhan Yao Li Yang Yu Weiyue Lu Min Liu 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,4:1
8Assessing mechanisms for microbial taxa and community dynamics using process models显示文摘Disentangling the assembly mechanisms controlling community composition,structure,distribution,functions,and dynamics is a central issue in ecology.Although various approaches have been proposed to examine community assembly mechanisms,quanti-tative characterization is challenging,particularly in microbial ecology.Here,we present a novel approach for quantitatively delineating community assembly mechanisms by combining the consumer–resource model with a neutral model in stochastic differential equations.Using time-series data from anaerobic bioreactors that target microbial 16S rRNA genes,we tested the applicability of three ecological models:the consumer–resource model,the neutral model,and the combined model.Our results revealed that model performances varied substantially as a function of population abundance and/or process conditions.The combined model performed best for abundant taxa in the treatment bioreactors where process conditions were manipulated.In contrast,the neutral model showed the best performance for rare taxa.Our analysis further indicated that immigration rates decreased with taxa abundance and com-petitions between taxa were strongly correlated with phylogeny,but within a certain phylogenetic distance only.The determinism underlying taxa and community dynamics were quantitatively assessed,showing greater determinism in the treatment bioreactors that aligned with the subsequent abnormal system functioning.Given its mechanistic basis,the framework developed here is expected to be potentially applicable beyond microbial ecology.Linwei Wu Yunfeng Yang Daliang Ning Qun Gao Huaqun Yin Naija Xiao Benjamin YZhou Si Chen Qiang He Jizhong Zhou 2023mLife2023,2,3:0

10Rapid field testing of mercury pollution by designed fluorescent biosensor and its cells-alginate hydrogel-based paper assay显示文摘With increasing industrial activities,mercury has been largely discharged into environment and caused serious environmental problems.The growing level of mercury pollution has become a huge threat to human health due to its significant biotoxicity.Therefore,the simple and fast means for on-site monitoring discharged mercury pollution are highly necessary to protect human beings from its pernicious effects in time.Herein,a'turn off'fluorescent biosensor(mCherry L199 C)for sensing Hg2+was successfully designed based on direct modification of the chromophore environment of fluorescent protein mCherry.For rapid screening and characterization,the designed variant of mCherry(mCherry L199 C)was directly expressed on outer-membrane of Escherichia coli cells by cell surface display technique.The fluorescent biosensor was characterized to have favorable response to Hg2+at micromole level among other metal ions and over a broad pH range.Further,the cells of the fluorescent biosensor were encapsulated in alginate hydrogel to develop the cells-alginate hydrogel-based paper.The cells-alginate hydrogel-based paper could detect mercury pollution in 5 min with simple operation process and inexpensive equipment,and it could keep fluorescence and activity stable at 4℃ for 24 hr,which would be a high-throughput screening tool in preliminarily reporting the presence of mercury pollution in natural setting.Yanan Zheng Liudan Wei Linwei Duan Fangfang Yang Guixiang Huang Tianyi Xiao Min Wei Yanling Liang Huiting Yang Zhipeng Li Dan Wang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,8:0

12Voice More and Be Happier: How Employee Voice Influences Psychological Well-Being in the Workplace显示文摘The recently recognized core construct of employee voice has been demonstrated to be related to various out-comes.However,to date,the impact of employee voice over time and on important employee well-being has been rarely tested.In the present research,we studied in particular how employee voice behavior is related to psycho-logical well-being.Employing the theory of self-determination,we developed three hypotheses pertinent to this relationship,including the mediating role of authentic self-expression and the moderating role of collectivist orientation.We tested our hypotheses using data from 217 employees in China' Mainland over two time periods.As we hypothesized,we found positive relationships between the employee voice and psychological well-being.Our results also verified that these relationships are fully mediated by authentic self-expression and partially moderated by collectivist orientation.Jia Xu Baoguo Xie Yi Yang Linwei Li 2021International Journal of Mental Health Promotion2021,23,1:0
