1Study on the recovery of hydrogen from refinery (hydrogen+methane) gas mixtures using hydrate technology显示文摘A novel technique for separating hydrogen from (H2 + CH4) gas mixtures through hydrate formation/dissociation was proposed. In this work, a systematic experimental study was performed on the separation of hydrogen from (H2 + CH4) feed mixtures with various hydrogen contents (mole fraction x = 40%-90%). The experimental results showed that the hydrogen content could be enriched to as high as ~94% for various feed mixtures using the proposed hydrate technology under a temperature slightly above 0℃ and a pressure below 5.0 MPa. With the addition of a small amount of suitable additives, the rate of hydrate formation could be increased significantly. Anti-agglomeration was used to disperse hydrate particles into the condensate phase. Instead of preventing hydrate growth (as in the kinetic inhibitor tests), hydrates were allowed to form, but only as small dispersed particles. 2Segmentation of Hematoxylin-Eosin stained breast cancer histopathological images based on pixel-wise SVM classifier显示文摘Hematoxylin-Eosin(HE) staining is the routine diagnostic method for breast cancer(BC), and large amounts of HE stained histopathological images are available for analysis. It is emergent to develop computational methods to efficiently and objectively analyze these images, with the aim of providing potentially better diagnostic and prognostic information for BC. This work focuses on analyzing our in-house HE stained histopathological images of breast cancer tissues. Since tumor nests(TNs) and stroma morphological characteristics can reflect the biological behaviors of breast invasive ductal carcinoma(IDC), accurate segmentation of TNs and the stroma is the first step towards the subsequent quantitative analysis. We first propose a method based on the pixel-wise support vector machine(SVM) classifier for segmenting TNs and the stroma, then extract four morphological characters related to the TNs from the images and investigate their relationships with the patients' 8-year disease free survival(8-DFS). The evaluation result shows that the classification based segmentation method is able to distinguish between TNs and stroma with 87.1% accuracy and 80.2% precision,suggesting that the proposed method is promising in segmenting HE stained IDC histopathological images. 3Near-perfect fidelity polarization-encoded multilayer optical data storage based on aligned gold nanorods显示文摘Encoding information in light polarization is of great importance in facilitating optical data storage(ODS)for information security and data storage capacity escalation.However,despite recent advances in nanophotonic techniques vastly en-hancing the feasibility of applying polarization channels,the data fidelity in reconstructed bits has been constrained by severe crosstalks occurring between varied polarization angles during data recording and reading process,which gravely hindered the utilization of this technique in practice.In this paper,we demonstrate an ultra-low crosstalk polarization-en-coding multilayer ODS technique for high-fidelity data recording and retrieving by utilizing a nanofibre-based nanocom-posite film involving highly aligned gold nanorods(GNRs).With parallelizing the gold nanorods in the recording medium,the information carrier configuration minimizes miswriting and misreading possibilities for information input and output,respectively,compared with its randomly self-assembled counterparts.The enhanced data accuracy has significantly im-proved the bit recall fidelity that is quantified by a correlation coefficient higher than 0.99.It is anticipated that the demon-strated technique can facilitate the development of multiplexing ODS for a greener future.Linwei Zhu Yaoyu Cao Qiuqun Chen Xu Ouyang Yi Xu Zhongliang Hu Jianrong Qiu Xiangping Li 2021Opto-Electronic Advances2021,4,11:9
4Late Tertiary faults and their paleostress along the boundary between the Kuqa Basin and the Tianshan Mountains显示文摘Field investigation shows that the boundary between the Kuqa Basin and the Tianshan Mountains can be divided into two sections with the Yanbulak area as the di-viding point. In the western section, the Mesozoic strata overlie unconformably on the Paleozoic rocks. The ba-sin-dipping faults developed in both Mesozoic and Paleozoic rocks. The eastern section is characterized by basin-dipping normal faults separating the Paleozoic strata and Tertiary. The brittle structural analysis was carried out along the ba-sin-range boundary. 360 measurements of striations have been obtained at a total of 25 sites. Paleostress reconstruction indicates that the basin-range boundary was in an exten-sional condition, with some superimposed strike-slip, during the Late Tertiary. 5Observed oceanic feedback to the atmosphere over the Kuroshio Extension during spring time and its possible mechanism显示文摘High-resolution satellite measurements are used to study the air-sea interaction over the Kuroshio Extension (KE) region during spring time. There are two oceanic fronts in the KE region off the east coast of Japan. These fronts are generally associated with strong ocean currents, which may display unstable meander, resulting in remarkable warm sea surface temperature (SST) ridges and cold SST troughs. Analyses of these satellite observations reveal a significantly positive correlation between sea surface wind speed and its underlying SST along these fronts. This positive SST-wind correlation be-comes even more significant when strong meanders occur along the fronts. This positive SST-wind correlation indicates an ocean-to-atmosphere feedback over the KE region during spring time. 6A family of high-temperature ferromagnetic monolayers with locked spin-dichroism-mobility anisotropy: MnNX and CrCX(X=Cl,Br,I;C=S,Se,Te)显示文摘Two-dimensional magnets have received increasing attention since Cr_2Ge_2Te_6 and CrI_3 were experimentally exfoliated and measured in 2017. Although layered ferromagnetic metals were demonstrated at room temperature, a layered ferromagnetic semiconductor with high Curie temperature(Tc) is yet to be unveiled. Here, we theoretically predicted a family of high Tcferromagnetic monolayers, namely MnNX and CrCX(X = Cl, Br and I; C = S, Se and Te). Their Tcvalues were predicted from over 100 K to near 500 K with Monte Carlo simulations using an anisotropic Heisenberg model. Eight members among them show semiconducting bandgaps varying from roughly 0.23 to 1.85 eV. These semiconducting monolayers also show extremely large anisotropy, i.e. ~10~1 for effective masses and ~10~2 for carrier mobilities, along the two in-plane lattice directions of these layers. 7Molecular behaviors in thin film lubrication——Part two: Direct observation of the molecular orientation near the solid surface显示文摘Over the past twenty years, thin film lubrication(TFL) theory has been used to characterize the molecular behaviors in lubrication films thinner than 100 nm, effectively bridging the gap between elastohydrodynamic lubrication and boundary lubrication. Unfortunately, to date, the TFL molecular model proposed in 1996 has not been directly proven by experimental detection. Herein, a method based on surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy was developed to show both the packing and orienting of liquid molecules in the TFL regime. By trapping liquid crystal molecules between a structured silver surface and a glass surface, molecular ordering states dominated by shear effect and surface effect were successfully distinguished. A nanosandwich structure consisting of an adsorbed layer, an ordered-molecule layer, and a fluid layer was demonstrated. Molecule imaging in TFL was achieved. 8Strategies of Removing Residual Lithium Compounds on the Surface of Ni-Rich Cathode Materials显示文摘Ni-rich cathode materials have become one of the most promising cathode materials for advanced high-energy Li-ion batteries(LIBs)owing to their high specific capacity.However,Ni-rich cathode materials are sensitive to the trace H2O and CO2 in the air,and tend to react with them to generate LiOH and Li2COg at the particle surface region(named residual lithium compounds,labeled as RLCs).The RLCs will deteriorate the comprehensive performances of Ni-rich cathode materials and make trouble in the subsequent manufacturing process of electrode,including causing low initial coulombic efficiency and poor storage property,bringing about potential safety hazards,and gelatinizing the electrode slurry.Therefore,it is of considerable significance to remove the RLCs.Researchers have done a lot of work on the corresponding field,such as exploring the formation mechanism and elimination methods.This paper investigates the origin of the surface residual lithium compounds on Ni-rich cathode materials,analyzes their adverse effects on the per-formance and the subsequent electrode production process,and summarizes various kinds of feasible methods for removing the RLCS.Finally,we propose a new research direction of eliminating the lithium residuals after comparing and summing up the above.We hope this work can provide a reference for alleviating the adverse effects of residual lithium compounds for Ni-rich cathode materials'industrial production.Yuefeng Su Linwei Li Gang Chen Lai Chen Ning Li Yun Lu Liying Bao Shi Chen Feng Wu 2021Chinese Journal of Chemistry2021,39,1:4
9Tissue level microstructure and mechanical properties of the femoral head in the proximal femur of fracture patients显示文摘This study aims to investigate the regional variations of trabecular morphological parameters and mechanical parameters of the femoral head,as well as to determine the relationship between trabecular morphological and mechanical parameters.Seven femoral heads from patients with fractured proximal femur were scanned using a micro-CT system.Each femoral head was divided into 12 sub-regions according to the trabecular orientation.One 125 mm^3 trabecular cubic model was reconstructed from each sub-region.A total of 81 trabecular models were reconstructed,except three destroyed sub-regions from two femoral heads during the surgery.Trabecular morphological parameters,i.e.trabecular separation(Tb.Sp),trabecular thickness(Tb.Th),specific bone surface(BS/B V),bone volume fraction(BV/TV),structural model index(SMI),and degree of anisotropy(DA) were measured.Micro-finite element analyses were performed for each cube to obtain the apparent Young's modulus and tissue level von Mises stress distribution under 1%compressive strain along three orthogonal directions,respectively.Results revealed significant regional variations in the morphological parameters(P<0.05).Young's moduli along the trabecular orientation were significantly higher than those along the other two directions.In general,trabecular mechanical properties in the medial region were lower than those in the lateral region.Trabecular mechanical parameters along the trabecular orientation were significantly correlated with BS/BV,BV/TV,Tb.Th,and DA.In this study,regional variations of microstructural features and mechanical properties in the femoral head of patients with proximal femur fracture were thoroughly investigated at the tissue level.The results of this study will help to elucidate the mechanism of femoral head fracture for reducing fracture risk and developing treatment strategies for the elderly.Linwei Lü Guangwei Meng He Gong Dong Zhu Jiazi Gao Yubo Fan 2015Acta Mechanica Sinica2015,31,2:4

11Centrifugal model test on a riverine landslide in the Three Gorges Reservoir induced by rainfall and water level fluctuation显示文摘Frequent soil landslide events are recorded in the Three Gorges Reservoir area,China,making it necessary to investigate the failure mode of such riverside landslides.Geotechnical centrifugal test is considered to be the most realistic laboratory model,which can reconstruct the required geo-stress.In this study,the Liangshuijing landslide in the Three Gorgers Reservoir area is selected for a scaled centrifugal model experiment,and a water pump system is employed to retain the rainfall condition.Using the techniques of digital photography and pore water pressure transducers,water level fluctuation is controlled,and multi-physical data are thus obtained,including the pore water pressure,earth pressure,surface displacement and deep displacement.The analysis results indicate that:Three stages were set in the test(waterflooding stage,rainfall stage and drainage stage).Seven transverse cracks with wide of 1–5 mm appeared during the model test,of which 3 cracks at the toe landslide were caused by reservoir water fluctuation,and the cracks at the middle and rear part were caused by rainfall.During rainfall process,the maximum displacement of landslide model reaches 3 cm.And the maximum deformation of the model exceeds 12 cm at the drainage stage.The failure process of the slope model can be divided into four stages:microcracks appearance and propagation stage,thrust-type failure stage,retrogressive failure stage,and holistic failure stage.When the thrust-type zone caused by rainfall was connected or even overlapped with the retrogressive failure zone caused by the drainage,the landslide would start,which displayed a typical composite failure pattern.The failure mode and deformation mechanism under the coupling actions of water level fluctuation and rainfall are revealed in the model test,which could appropriately guide for the analysis and evaluation of riverside landslides.Fasheng Miao Yiping Wu Ákos Török Linwei Li Yang Xue 2022Geoscience Frontiers2022,13,3:3
12Programmed cell death in Laminaria japonica(Phaeophyta) tissues infected with alginic acid decomposing bacterium显示文摘TdT mediated dUTP biotin nick end labeling (TUNEL) is a sensitive and valid method for detecting DNA cleavage in programmed cell death (PCD). Using this method, DNA cleavage was observed in Laminaria japonica sporophytic tissues, which were infected with alginic acid decomposing bacterium. It was found that DNA cleavage occurred 5 min after the infection, the fragments with 3′ OH groups of cleaved nuclear DNA increased with time of infection and spread from the infection site. Although no typical DNA ladder (200 bp/180 bp) was detected by routine agarose gel electrophoresis, the cleavage of nuclear DNA fragments of 97~48.5 kb could be detected by pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE). By using CaspGLOW TM fluorescein active caspase 3 staining method, caspase 3 activity has been detected in response to the infection of alginic acid decomposing bacterium. 13DEFORMATION ANALYSIS OF SHEET METAL SINGLE-POINT INCREMENTAL FORMING BY FINITE ELEMENT METHOD SIMULATION显示文摘Single-point incremental forming (SPIF) is an innovational sheet metal forming method without dedicated dies,which belongs to rapid prototyping technology. In generalizing the SPIF of sheet metal,the deformation analysis on forming process becomes an important and useful method for the planning of shell products,the choice of material,the design of the forming process and the planning of the forming tool. Using solid brick elements,the finite element method(FEM) model of truncated pyramid was established. Based on the theory of anisotropy and assumed strain formulation,the SPIF processes with different parameters were simulated. The resulted comparison between the simulations and the experiments shows that the FEM model is feasible and effective. Then,according to the simulated forming process,the deformation pattern of SPIF can be summarized as the combination of plane-stretching deformation and bending deformation. And the study about the process parameters' impact on deformation shows that the process parameter of interlayer spacing is a dominant factor on the deformation. Decreasing interlayer spacing,the strain of one step decreases and the formability of blank will be improved. 14Recent advances in bifunctional catalysts for zinc-air batteries:Synthesis and potential mechanisms显示文摘Zinc-air batteries(ZABs) are considered promising candidates for next-generation clean and sustainable energy storage devices because of their low cost, safety, environment-friendliness, and high specific energy density. However, owing to its poor chargedischarge capacity and low efficiency, its practical application remains challenging. The main obstacles are the intrinsic slow reaction kinetics on the air cathode, including the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) during discharging and oxygen evolution reaction(OER) during recharging. Therefore, a reasonable design of bifunctional ORR/OER electrocatalysts with high activity and stability is the key to the development of ZABs. In this review, the recent advances in bifunctional ORR/OER electrocatalysts as air cathodes in ZABs are discussed from three perspectives: metal-organic framework-based catalysts, metal-free carbon catalysts, and metal-based catalysts. In particular, the synthesis, electrocatalytic activity, and potential mechanism of bifunctional catalysts in ZABs are discussed. In recent years, research on bifunctional catalysts has intensified, and the performance of these catalysts has significantly improved. However, most of the experimental products have complex preparation processes and high costs;therefore, the industrialization of these experimental products remains difficult. 17A fully automatic and high-accuracy surface water mapping framework on Google Earth Engine using Landsat time-series显示文摘Efficient and continuous monitoring of surface water is essential for water resource management.Much effort has been devoted to the task of water mapping based on remote sensing images.However,few studies have fully considered the diverse spectral properties of water for the collection of reference samples in an automatic manner.Moreover,water area statistics are sensitive to the satellite image observation quality.This study aims to develop a fully automatic surface water mapping framework based on Google Earth Engine(GEE)with a supervised random forest classifier.A robust scheme was built to automatically construct training samples by merging the information from multi-source water occurrence products.The samples for permanent and seasonal water were mapped and collected separately,so that the supplement of seasonal samples can increase the spectral diversity of the sample space.To reduce the uncertainty of the derived water occurrences,temporal correction was applied to repair the classification maps with invalid observations.Extensive experiments showed that the proposed method can generate reliable samples and produce good-quality water mapping results.Comparative tests indicated that the proposed method produced water maps with a higher quality than the index-based detection methods,as well as the GSWD and GLAD datasets.Linwei Yue Baoguang Li Shuang Zhu Qiangqiang Yuan Huanfeng Shen 2023International Journal of Digital Earth2023,16,1:2
18Three-dimensional cellular automata based particle flow simulations of mechanical properties of talus deposit显示文摘Based on three-dimensional cellular automata (CA), a new stochastic simulation model to simulate the microstructures and particle flow of talus deposit is proposed. In addition, an auto-modeling program CARS is developed, with which numerical simulations can be conducted conveniently. For the problem of simulating mechanical behaviors of talus deposit, spatial arrangement or sphere shapes should be considered. In the new modeling method, four sphere arrangement models are developed for the particle flow simulation of talus deposit. Numerical results show that the talus deposit has the mechanical characteristics of typical stress-strain curves, as other rock-like materials. The cohesion of talus deposit decreases with increasing rock content, while the internal friction angle increases with increasing rock contents. 19Efficient separation between trivalent americium and lanthanides enabled by a phenanthroline-based polymeric organic framework显示文摘Separation of the minor actinides(Am and Cm)from lanthanides in high-level liquid wastes(HLLW)is one of the most challenging chemical separation tasks known owing to their chemical similarities and is highly significant in nuclear fuel reprocessing plants because it could practically lead to sustainable nuclear energy by closing the nuclear fuel cycle.The solid phase extraction is proposed to be a possible strategy but all reported sorbent materials severely suffer from limited stability and/or efficiency caused by the harsh conditions of high acidity coupled with intense irradiation.Herein,a phenanthroline-based polymeric organic framework(PhenTAPB-POF)was designed and tested for the separation of trivalent americium from lanthanides for the first time.Due to its fully conjugated structure,PhenTAPB-POF exhibits previously unachieved stability under the combined extreme conditions of strong acids and high irradiation field.The americium partitioning experiment indicates that PhenTAPB-POF possesses an ultrahigh adsorption selectivity towards Am(Ⅲ)over lanthanides(e.g.,SFAm(Ⅲ)/Eu(Ⅲ)=3326)in highly acidic simulated HLLW and relatively fast adsorption kinetics in both static and dynamic experiments.Am(Ⅲ)can be almost quantitatively eluted from the PhenTAPB-POF packed-column using a concentrated nitric acid elution.The high stability and superior separation performance endow PhenTAPB-POF with the promising alternative for separating minor actinides over lanthanides from highly acidic HLLW streams.Afshin Khayambashi Long Chen Xue Dong Kai Li Zhipeng Wang Linwei He Suresh Annam Lixi Chen Yaxing Wang Matthew V.Sheridan Chao Xu Shuao Wang 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,7:1
