4Activated carbon enhanced ozonation of oxalate attributed to HO·oxidation in bulk solution and surface oxidation: Effect of activated carbon dosage and pH显示文摘Ozonation of oxalate in aqueous phase was performed with a commercial activated carbon(AC)in this work. The effect of AC dosage and solution pH on the contribution of hydroxyl radicals(HOU) in bulk solution and oxidation on the AC surface to the removal of oxalate was studied. We found that the removal of oxalate was reduced by tert-butyl alcohol(tBA) with low dosages of AC,while it was hardly affected by tBA when the AC dosage was greater than 0.3 g/L. tBA also inhibited ozone decomposition when the AC dosage was no more than 0.05 g/L, but it did not work when the AC dosage was no less than 0.1 g/L. These observations indicate that HOUin bulk solution and oxidation on the AC surface both contribute to the removal of oxalate. HOU oxidation in bulk solution is significant when the dosage of AC is low, whereas surface oxidation is dominant when the dosage of AC is high. The oxalate removal decreased with increasing pH of the solution with an AC dosage of 0.5 g/L. The degradation of oxalate occurs mainly through surface oxidation in acid and neutral solution, but through HOUoxidation in basic bulk solution. 5PSA controls hepatic lipid metabolism by regulating the NRF2 signaling pathway显示文摘The activity of proteinase is reported to correlate with the development and progression of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Puromycin-sensitive aminopeptidase(PSA/NPEPPS)is an integral nontransmembrane enzyme that functions to catalyze the cleavage of amino acids near the N-terminus of polypeptides.A previous study suggested that this enzyme acts as a regulator of neuropeptide activity;however,the metabolic function of this enzyme in the liver has not been explored.Here,we identified the novel role of PSA in hepatic lipid metabolism.Specifically,PSA expression was lower in fatty livers from NAFLD patients and mice(HFD,ob/ob,and db/db).PSA knockdown in cultured hepatocytes exacerbated diet-induced triglyceride accumulation through enhanced lipogenesis and attenuated fatty acid β-oxidation.Moreover,PSA mediated activation of the master regulator of antioxidant response,nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(NRF2),by stabilizing NRF2 protein expression,which further induced downstream antioxidant enzymes to protect the liver from oxidative stress and lipid overload.Accordingly,liver-specific PSA overexpression attenuated hepatic lipid accumulation and steatosis in ob/ob mice.Furthermore,in human liver tissue samples,decreased PSA expression correlated with the progression of NAFLD.Overall,our findings suggest that PSA is a pivotal regulator of hepatic lipid metabolism and its antioxidant function occurs by suppressing NRF2 ubiquitination.Moreover,PSA may be a potential biomarker and therapeutic target for treating NAFLD.Bangliang Huang Xin Xiong Linlin Zhang Xiufei Liu Yuren Wang Xiaoli Gong Qian Sang Yongling Lu Hua Qu Hongting Zheng Yi Zheng 2021Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2021,13,7:4
6CPTA treatment reveals potential transcription factors associated with carotenoid metabolism in flowers of Osmanthus fragrans显示文摘Osmanthus fragrans is one of the top ten traditional flowers in China.It is divided into three different groups according to its color.α-Carotene and β-carotene are the main determinants to distinguish the color differences between three groups.However,the dominant genes and transcription factors involved in carotenoid metabolism remain unclear.CPTA treatment(0.7mmol·L−1)remarkably promoted lycopene,α-carotene and β-carotene contents in flowers.Transcriptome sequencing analysis revealed that CPTA treatment could trigger chain reactions in carotenoid metabolism pathway genes.Four up-regulated and 10 down-regulated transcription factors which have close association with carotenoid variation were significantly induced by CPTA treatment.The up-regulated TFs such as MYB43,MYB123,HSF,were further subjected to transcript expression determination in different cultivars with drastic colors.Among them,transcript expression of four up-regulated TFs coincided with the carotenoid accumulation in different cultivars.We selected up-regulated OfMYB43 to verify its function,which is related to stress tolerance and transcriptional regulation.Transient overexpression of OfMYB43 in O.fragrans flowers showed that it could remarkably promote the expression of PDS,ZISO,LCYE and CCD4,leading to increased accumulation of β-branch carotenoids.OfMYB43 was a potential positive regulator of carotenoid biosynthesis in O.fragrans flowers.This study provides insight into the molecular mechanism of carotenoid metabolism in O.fragrans.Wan Xi Yanhong He Linlin Zhu Shiyang Hu Shuyi Xiong Yi Zhang Jingjing Zou Hongguo Chen Caiyun Wang Riru Zheng 2021Horticultural Plant Journal2021,7,5:3
7Three-dimensional ATUM-SEM reconstruction and analysis of hepatic endoplasmic reticulum-organelle interactions显示文摘The endoplasmic reticulum(ER)is a contiguous and complicated membrane network in eukaryotic cells,and membrane contact sites(MCSs)between the ER and other organelles perform vital cellular functions,including lipid homeostasis,metabolite exchange,calcium level regulation,and organelle division.Here,we establish a whole pipeline to reconstruct all ER,mitochondria,lipid droplets,lysosomes,peroxisomes,and nuclei by automated tape-collecting ultramicrotome scanning electron microscopy and deep learning techniques,which generates an unprecedented 3D model for mapping liver samples.Furthermore,the morphology of various organelles and the MCSs between the ER and other organelles are systematically analyzed.We found that the ER presents with predominantly flat cisternae and is knitted tightly all throughout the intracellular space and around other organelles.In addition,the ER has a smaller volume-to-membrane surface area ratio than other organelles,which suggests that the ER could be more suited for functions that require a large membrane surface area.Our data also indicate that ER-mitochondria contacts are particularly abundant,especially for branched mitochondria.Our study provides 3D reconstructions of various organelles in liver samples together with important fundamental information for biochemical and functional studies in the liver.Yi Jiang Linlin Li Xi Chen Jiazheng Liu Jingbin Yuan Qiwei Xie Hua Han 2021Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2021,13,9:2
8A Role for Transmembrane Protein 16C/Slack Impairment in Excitatory Nociceptive Synaptic Plasticity in the Pathogenesis of Remifentanil-induced Hyperalgesia in Rats显示文摘Remifentanil is widely used to control intraoperative pain. However, its analgesic effect is limited by the generation of postoperative hyperalgesia. In this study, we investigated whether the impairment of transmembrane protein 16C(TMEM16C)/Slack is required for a-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic receptor(AMPAR) activation in remifentanil-induced postoperative hyperalgesia. Remifentanil anesthesia reduced the paw withdrawal threshold from 2 h to 48 h postoperatively,with a decrease in the expression of TMEM16C and Slack in the dorsal root ganglia(DRG) and spinal cord.Knockdown of TMEM16C in the DRG reduced the expression of Slack and elevated the basal peripheral sensitivity and AMPAR expression and function. Overexpression of TMEM16C in the DRG impaired remifentanilinduced ERK1/2 phosphorylation and behavioral hyperalgesia. AMPAR-mediated current and neuronal excitability were downregulated by TMEM16C overexpression in the spinal cord. 11Enhanced microwave absorption property of silver decorated biomass ordered porous carbon composite materials with frequency selective surface incorporation显示文摘Porous carbon(PC)is a promising electromagnetic(EM)wave absorbing material thanks to its light weight,large specific surface area as well as good dissipating capacity.To further improve its microwave absorbing performance,silver coated porous carbon(Ag@PC)is synthesized by one-step hydro-thermal synthesis process making use of fir as a biomass formwork.Phase compositions,morphological structure,and microwave absorption capability of the Ag@PC has been explored.Research results show that the metallic Ag was successfully reduced and the particles are evenly distributed inward the pores of the carbon formwork,which accelerates graphitization process of the amorphous carbon.The Ag@PC composite without adding polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP)exhibits higher dielectric constant and better EM wave dissipating capability.This is because the larger particles of Ag give rise to higher electric conductivity.After combing with frequency selective surface(FSS),the EM wave absorbing performance is further improved and the frequency region below-10 d B is located in8.20-11.75 GHz,and the minimal reflection loss value is-22.5 dB.This work indicates that incorporating metallic Ag particles and FSS provides a valid way to strengthen EM wave absorbing capacity of PC material.Yi Liu Jingnan Qin Linlin Lu Jie Xu Xiaolei Su 2023International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2023,30,3:1
12A neural network-based production process modeling and variable importance analysis approach in corn to sugar factory显示文摘Corn to sugar process has long faced the risks of high energy consumption and thin profits.However,it’s hard to upgrade or optimize the process based on mechanism unit operation models due to the high complexity of the related processes.Big data technology provides a promising solution as its ability to turn huge amounts of data into insights for operational decisions.In this paper,a neural network-based production process modeling and variable importance analysis approach is proposed for corn to sugar processes,which contains data preprocessing,dimensionality reduction,multilayer perceptron/convolutional neural network/recurrent neural network based modeling and extended weights connection method.In the established model,dextrose equivalent value is selected as the output,and 654 sites from the DCS system are selected as the inputs.LASSO analysis is first applied to reduce the data dimension to 155,then the inputs are dimensionalized to 50 by means of genetic algorithm optimization.Ultimately,variable importance analysis is carried out by the extended weight connection method,and 20 of the most important sites are selected for each neural network.The results indicate that the multilayer perceptron and recurrent neural network models have a relative error of less than 0.1%,which have a better prediction result than other models,and the 20 most important sites selected have better explicable performance.The major contributions derived from this work are of significant aid in process simulation model with high accuracy and process optimization based on the selected most important sites to maintain high quality and stable production for corn to sugar processes.Yi Tong Mou Shu Mingxin Li Yingwei Liu Ran Tao Congcong Zhou You Zhao Guoxing Zhao Yi Li Yachao Dong Lei Zhang Linlin Liu Jian Du 2023Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2023,17,3:1

17Effect of semi-continuous water washing on the combustion behaviors of agricultural organic solid waste显示文摘Combustion of agricultural organic solid waste(AOSW)was an ideal solution for their resource utilization in view of their massive annual production and great potential for reduction of fossil fuel utilization.However,high alkali and alkaline earth metals(AAEMs)content in the feedstock can arose severe fouling and slagging issues and thus prohibiting its vast utilization.In this study,a semi-continuous water washing method was proposed to preliminarily remove AAEMs from agricultural organic solid waste and its effects on the combustion behaviors of washed solid product were investigated.Results showed that the combustion index S were improved to 2.63×10-6,over 68%of the total ashes were removed from the cotton stalk,and 96.3%,89.0%and 74.7%of K,Na and Mg were effectively removed,respectively.Moreover,the softening temperature of low temperature ash from the washed sample was as high as 1450◦C,538◦C higher than the low temperature ash from the original sample;the base acid ratio and fouling index were improved from high slagging and fouling risk(1.7 and 90.8)of the original organic solid waste to low and medium risk(0.4 and 3.5),respectively.All these results signified the contributing effect of proposed semi-continuous water washing method on the combustion of agricultural organic solid waste.In a word,this study provided a promising method for fouling and slagging inhibition during the agricultural organic solid waste combustion.Xiangxi Wang Zhenzhong Hu Jinrong Ma Linlin Yi Jian Li Yanfeng Cheng Jianfei Ma Na An Feng Wang Xian Li Junjun Yan Bo Wei Yue Li Guangqian Luo Hong Yao 2023Carbon Resources Conversion2023,6,1:0
18A straight-forward seed production technology system for foxtail millet(Setaria italica)显示文摘For autogamous crops, a precondition for using heterosis is to produce sufficient pure male-sterile female parents that can be used to produce hybrid seeds. To date, cytoplasmic male sterility(CMS)and environment-sensitive genic male sterility(EGMS) have been used commercially to exploit heterosis for autogamous species. However, neither CMS nor EGMS has been established for foxtail millet(Setaria italica). Here, we report on the establishment and application of a seed production technology(SPT) system for this crop.First, we established a Ds Red-based SPT system,but found that it was unsuitable because it required the use of a fluorescent device for seed sorting. Instead, we constructed an SPT system with de novo betalain biosynthesis as the selection marker. This allowed us to distinguish transgenic seeds with the naked eye, thereby facilitating the identification of SPT maintainer line seeds. In this system, a seed sorter was not required to obtain sufficient seeds. The key point of the strategy is that the seed pool of the SPT maintainer line is propagated by artificial identification and harvesting of male-fertile individuals in the field, and the male-sterile line seed pool for hybrid production is produced and propagated by free pollination of male-sterile plants with the SPT maintainer line. In a field experiment, we obtained 423.96 kg male-sterile line seeds per acre,which is sufficient to plant 700.18 acres of farmland for hybrid seed production or male-sterile line reproduction. 19Ultrasensitive photochromism and impedance dual response to weak visible light by solvated Pb(Ⅱ) modified polyoxomolybdate显示文摘Polyoxometalates (POMs) are important inorganic photochromic materials to be potentially applied in photo-induced switch,energy storage,and even the detection of light.However,due to the limited sensitivity of POMs,it is difficult to realize the photochromic response to weak visible light.In this paper,by the coordination of solvated Pb(Ⅱ),a new structure-defined chain-like polyoxomolybdate complex of[(Pb(DMF)_(4))^(3)(P_(2)Mo_(18)O_(62))_(2)]n(Pb_(3)Mo_(18) ,DMF=dimethylformamide) has been demonstrated by a facile solvent-diffusion approach.By virtue of interactions between Pb(DMF)_(4) and polyoxoanions,Pb_(3)Mo_(18) shows an ultrasensitive photochromic response to weak visible lights and forms the reduced’heteropoly blue’species through ligand-to-metal charge transfer (LMCT) process.A new mechanism is firstly proposed here that the 6s orbital lone electron pair on Pb(II) can effectively stabilize the generated hole of oxygen atoms as a result of O→Mo charge transfer.Through the proposed mechanism,the LMCT barrier is drastically lowered and allows the coloration to be occurred even upon weak visible light.Also,because the conductivity of Pb_(3)Mo_(18) enhances with the increase of reduction extent,its electrochemical impedance signals are proportionally response to irradiation intensity.Especially,for the first time,the polyoxomolybdate composite can be used to detect weak visible light,in which the optical signal can be converted into electrical signal output.Moreover,Pb_(3)Mo_(18) can be drip-coated on the surface of the screen printed chip electrode,which is facile to the detection of light by portable devices compatible with computers,mobile phones and other electronic equipment.This work not only highlights a new approach to the molecular design of photochromic POMs by the coordination of metal ions with the effect of inert electron pair,but also lays a foundation to extend the application of POMs as light signal sensors.Jiayuan Zhang Xinyu Wang Gui Wang Yi Feng Chunhui Zhang Tao Pang Guanggang Gao Linlin Fan Hong Liu 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,2:0
20CD34^(+)CD38^(-)subpopulation without CD123 and CD44 is responsible for LSC and correlated with imbalance of immune cell subsets in AML显示文摘Acute myeloid leukemia(AML)is regarded as a stem cell disease.However,no one unique marker is expressed on leukemia stem cells(LSC)but not on leukemic blasts nor normal hematopoietic stem cells(HSC).CD34^(+)CD38^(-)with or without CD123 or CD44 subpopulations are immunophenotypically defined as putative LSC fractions in AML.Nevertheless,markers that can be effectively and simply held responsible for the intrinsical heterogeneity of LSC is still unclear.In the present study,we examined the frequency of three different LSC subtypes(CD34^(+)CD38^(-),CD34^(+)CD38^(-)CD123^(+),CD34^(+)CD38^(-)CD44^(+))in AML at diagnosis.We then validated their prognostic significance on the relevance of spectral features for diagnostic stratification,immune status,induction therapy response,treatment effect maintenance,and long^(-)term survival.In our findings,high proportions of the above three different LSC subtypes were all significantly characterized with low complete remission(CR)rate,high relapse/refractory rate,poor overall survival(OS),frequent FLT3^(-)ITD mutation,the high level of regulatory T cells(Treg)and monocytic myeloid^(-)derived suppressor cells(M^(-)MDSC).However,there was no significant statistical difference in all kinds of other clinical performance among the three different LSC groups.It was demonstrated that CD34^(+)CD38^(-)subpopulation without CD123 and CD44 might be held responsible for LSC and correlated with an imbalance of immune cell subsets in AML.QIANSHAN TAO QING ZHANG HUIPING WANG HAO XIAO MEI ZHOU LINLIN LIU HUI QIN JIYU WANG FURUN AN ZHIMIN ZHAI YI DONG 2022BIOCELL2022,46,1:0
