1Age-related rhesus macaque models of COVID-19显示文摘Background:Since December 2019,an outbreak of the Corona Virus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)in Wuhan,China,has become a public health emergency of international concern.The high fatality of aged cases caused by SARS-CoV-2 was a need to explore the possible age-related phenomena with non-human primate models.Methods:Three 3-5 years old and two 15 years old rhesus macaques were intratracheally infected with SARS-CoV-2,and then analyzed by clinical signs,viral replication,chest X-ray,histopathological changes and immune response.Results:Viral replication of nasopharyngeal swabs,anal swabs and lung in old monkeys was more active than that in young monkeys for 14 days after SARS-CoV-2 challenge.Monkeys developed typical interstitial pneumonia characterized by thickened alveolar septum accompanied with inflammation and edema,notably,old monkeys exhibited diffuse severe interstitial pneumonia.Viral antigens were detected mainly in alveolar epithelial cells and macrophages.Conclusion:SARS-CoV-2 caused more severe interstitial pneumonia in old monkeys than that in young monkeys.Rhesus macaque models infected with SARS-CoV-2 provided insight into the pathogenic mechanism and facilitated the development of vaccines and therapeutics against SARS-CoV-2 infection.Pin Yu Feifei Qi Yanfeng Xu Fengdi Li Peipei Liu Jiayi Liu Linlin Bao Wei Deng Hong Gao Zhiguang Xiang Chong Xiao Qi Lv Shuran Gong Jiangning Liu Zhiqi Song Yajin Qu Jing Xue Qiang Wei Mingya Liu Guanpeng Wang Shunyi Wang Haisheng Yu Xing Liu Baoying Huang Wenling Wang Li Zhao Huijuan Wang Fei Ye Weimin Zhou Wei Zhen Jun Han Guizhen Wu Qi Jin Jianwei Wang Wenjie Tan Chuan Qin 2020Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2020,3,1:22
2Self-Powered Implantable Skin-Like Glucometer for Real-Time Detection of Blood Glucose Level In Vivo显示文摘Implantable bioelectronics for analyzing physiological biomarkers has recently been recognized as a promising technique in medical treatment or diagnostics. In this study, we developed a self-powered implantable skinlike glucometer for real-time detection of blood glucose level in vivo. Based on the piezo-enzymatic-reaction coupling effect of GOx@ZnO nanowire, the device under an applied deformation can actively output piezoelectric signal containing the glucose-detecting information. No external electricity power source or battery is needed for this device, and the outputting piezoelectric voltage acts as both the biosensing signal and electricity power. A practical application of the skin-like glucometer implanted in mouse body for detecting blood glucose level has been simply demonstrated. 3Liraglutide alleviates cardiac fibrosis through inhibiting P4hα-1 expression in STZ-induced diabetic cardiomyopathy显示文摘Diabetic cardiomyopathy is an important contributor to morbidity and mortality of diabetic patients by causing heart failure.Interstitial and perivascular fibrosis plays a crucial role in diabetic cardiomyopathy.However,there is a lack of effective specific treatments available for diabetic cardiomyopathy.In the present study,we aim to explore the effects of Liraglutide,a GLP-1 analogue,on diabetic cardiomyopathy in STZ-induced diabetic rats fed with high-fat diet.A total of 60 male Wistar rats were randomly assigned to three groups,i.e.normal group,model group,and Liraglutide group,with 20 rats in each group.Serum levels of TC,TG,LDL-C,NEFA,and hydroxyproline were measured using commercial kits.Cardiac function was evaluated by QRS waves,LVEDd,LVESd,and LVEF.Myocardial fibrosis was measured by immunohistochemistry.Our results demonstrated that chronic administration of Liraglutide decreased the level of blood glucose and significantly alleviated lipid metabolic disturbance compared with the model group.Furthermore,Liraglutide was found to improve the damaged cardiac function.In line with this,we also found that the alleviation of cardiac dysfunction was associated with the decreased fibrosis in diabetic myocardial tissues,which was reflected by the decreased expressions of P4hα-1,COL-1,COL-3,MMP-1,and MMP-9.Our results thus suggest that Liraglutide might have a myocardial protective effect by inhibiting P4hα-1-mediated myocardial fibrosis.Tong Zhao Huiqiang Chen Fei Xu Juan Wang Yusheng Liu Xiaowei Xing Linlin Guo Mingxiang Zhang Qinghua Lu 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,3:9
4Activated carbon enhanced ozonation of oxalate attributed to HO·oxidation in bulk solution and surface oxidation: Effect of activated carbon dosage and pH显示文摘Ozonation of oxalate in aqueous phase was performed with a commercial activated carbon(AC)in this work. The effect of AC dosage and solution pH on the contribution of hydroxyl radicals(HOU) in bulk solution and oxidation on the AC surface to the removal of oxalate was studied. We found that the removal of oxalate was reduced by tert-butyl alcohol(tBA) with low dosages of AC,while it was hardly affected by tBA when the AC dosage was greater than 0.3 g/L. tBA also inhibited ozone decomposition when the AC dosage was no more than 0.05 g/L, but it did not work when the AC dosage was no less than 0.1 g/L. These observations indicate that HOUin bulk solution and oxidation on the AC surface both contribute to the removal of oxalate. HOU oxidation in bulk solution is significant when the dosage of AC is low, whereas surface oxidation is dominant when the dosage of AC is high. The oxalate removal decreased with increasing pH of the solution with an AC dosage of 0.5 g/L. The degradation of oxalate occurs mainly through surface oxidation in acid and neutral solution, but through HOUoxidation in basic bulk solution. 15Observation on the Effect of Integrated Medical and Nursing Care in Patients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis Combined with Lung Cancer显示文摘Objective:To explore the effect of integrated medical and nursing care in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis combined with lung cancer.Methods:From August 2021 to August 2022,60 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis combined with lung cancer were admitted.All patients were diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis according to the Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Pulmonary Tuberculosis and with lung cancer by pathology.The patients were randomly divided into two groups,with 30 cases in each group.The control group received daily nursing care,whereas the study group received integrated medical and nursing care.The sputum conversion rate,tumor remission rate,and quality of life of patients were observed and analyzed.Results:The item function score and symptom function score of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05);the total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05);the sputum conversion rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:For patients with pulmonary tuberculosis combined with lung cancer,the application of integrated medical and nursing care can help consolidate the treatment effect and improve the quality of life of patients;thus,it is worthy of promotion and application.Wei Yuan Yuanyuan Lu Mi Zhang Min Zheng Xing Luan Yanling Feng Linlin Chai 2023Proceedings of Anticancer Research2023,7,3:0

18Mineralization of phenol by ozone combined with activated carbon:Performance and mechanism under different pH levels显示文摘The degradation of phenol using ozone with activated carbon(O_(3)/AC system)was investigated in this study.The O_(3)/AC system was also compared with the single O_(3) and AC systems.The total organic carbon(TOC)removal efficiency in the O_(3)/AC system was roughly 26%and 30%higher than the single AC and O_(3) systems,respectively.It was demonstrated that the phenol degradation rate and TOC removal efficiency were significantly affected by the ozone concentration,AC dosage,and solution pH.The pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order kinetic models were fitted to identify the mechanisms of the phenol removal process.The results of Scanning Electron Microscopy,Brunauer-Emmett-Teller,and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy of raw and used AC indicated that the surface morphology,microstructure,and functional group properties had been changed during the reaction process.The possible O_(3)/AC system mineralization mechanism for phenol removal was tentatively proposed using scavenging active species such as·OH,O_(2)^(·-),and H_(2)O_(2).The transformation byproducts generated during the application of the O_(3)/AC system were identified by High Performance Liquid Chromatography and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry analyses.Therefore,the mineralization pathway of phenol in detail was proposed in acidic(pH 3.0)and alkaline(pH 11.0)conditions.This study provided a more systematic explanation of the mineralization mechanism for phenol in the O_(3)/AC system.Wei Xiong Weihua Cui Rui Li Chuanping Feng Yang Liu Ningping Ma Jian Deng Linlin Xing Yu Gao Nan Chen 2020Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2020,,1:0

20Upconversion luminescence Ca-Mg-Si bioactive glasses synthesized using the containerless processing technique显示文摘In this study,a series of Er^3+/Yb^3+co-doped Ca-Mg-Si glasses were prepared via the containerless processing.Phase composition and luminescent properties of the prepared materials were investigated through XRD and spectrometry,and bioactivity,biocompatibility and cytotoxicity were evaluated.The XRD patterns indicated that akermanite(AKT)ceramic powders were completely transformed into the glassy phase(AKT-G,EYA)through the containerless processing,which exhibit upconversion luminescence,and the luminescence intensity increased with the increase of the doping amount of Er^3+ and Yb^3+.High amount of Yb^3+doping and existence of Ca^2+in glasses resulted in more intensive red-light emission.The SEM observation,combined with EDS analysis,and cell culture experiments showed that the as-prepared glasses were nontoxic,biocompatible and bioactive.All these results demonstrated that the containerless processing is a facile method for preparing homogeneous luminescent bioactive glasses.Furthermore,this luminescent Ca-Mg-Si glasses may be used as bone implant materials to study the in vivo distribution of degradation products of bone implants,which may be of great significance for the development and clinical application of new bone grafting materials.Qin LI Min XING Lan CHANG Linlin MA Zhi CHEN Jianrong QIU Jianding YU Jiang CHANG 2019Frontiers of Materials Science2019,13,4:0
