| 2 | A New Arg54Gly Transthyretin Gene Mutation Associated with Vitreous Amyloidosis in Chinese显示文摘Purpose:To analyse the hereditary features of a Chinese pedigree with familial vitreous amyloidosis in Liaoning Province,China,and to investigate the correlation between the clinical appearance of the disease and transthyretin(TTR)gene mutation,including the locus and type of TTR gene mutation.Methods:Five patients (10 eyes) from one Chinese family were diagnosed with vitreous amyloidosis between July 1996 and April 2009.Family members were followed up subsequently,and peripheral venous blood was obtained from 13 subjects (including 2 patients,and 11 controls without clinical signs of disease).DNA samples were extracted and 4 exons of the TTR gene were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR).The gene fragments were subjected to sequencing analysis.The results were analyzed with DNAMAN Windows 5.2.2.0 and Chromas sequence chart analysis software,TTR gene exons were compared between affected patients and normal controls.Results:Family pedigree analysis revealed that patients were distributed in three generations.Male and female subjects had equal prevalence,and only one parent of affected patients had signs of disease.TTR gene exon sequencing showed that the sequence of patients was identical to that of normal individuals.No TTR gene mutations were noted in 10 unaffected family members.However,a TTR Gly-54 point mutation in the 2nd exon was detected in two patients and 1 unaffected family member (one of the patients' daughters).Vitreous samples in 4 cases (7 eyes) showed positive Congo red staining,suggesting that these family members suffered from familial vitreous amyloidosis.Conclusion:This pedigree affected with familial vitreous amyloidosis was characterized by autosomal dominant inheritance;.a TTR Gly-54 point mutation in the 2nd exon is presumed to be the cause.This Gly-54 point mutation of the TTR gene is a novel mutation in vitreous amyloidosis. | Yining Shi Jing Li Jia Hu Jun Hu Lijun Sun Huijin Li Rui Shi Le Yang Ye Sun Chan Li | 2011 | Eye Science2011,26,4: | 9 |

| 4 | Flow modification associated with mangrove trees in a macro-tidal flat, southern China显示文摘Limited studies have investigated the modification of tidal currents by mangrove trees. In particular, the impacts of mangrove trees on a vertical velocity profile remain unclear. An automatic system is developed to observe the vertical velocity profiles within a mangrove forest composed of artificially introduced Kandelia obovata located on the Ximen Island, the southern Zhejiang Province. The results reveal low flow velocities throughout the vertical profile within the mangrove forest. The vertical profile shows an overall decrease of the velocity with an increasing height above the bed. This pattern is due to the vertical increase of the drag force by the trunks and tree canopies.In addition, the turbulent energy density also varies vertically, corresponding to the vertical structure of the mangrove trees. | 5 | Photosynthesis, chilling acclimation and the response of antioxidant enzymes to chilling stress in mulberry seedlings显示文摘This study investigates the effects of cold-acclimation in conferring chilling tolerance in seedlings of the mulberry(Morus alba) variety ‘Qiuyu’. Changes in photosynthesis and antioxidant enzymes in chilling acclimatized(CA), and non-acclimatized(NA) seedlings were recorded during chilling stress(3 °C) and a recovery period(25 °C) each for 3 days. The results showed that CA plants had higher net photosynthetic rates(P_n), stomatal conductance(G_s), and maximum photochemical efficiency of photosystem Ⅱ(F_v/F_m) in response to chilling stress compared to NA. The seedlings maintained the same trends during the recovery stage. The responses of Q_A reduction degree (1-q_P) and prime electronic transfer rates(F_o) were lower in acclimatized than in non-acclimatized seedlings. Low-temperature acclimation and chilling stress also caused an increase in leaf proline and soluble sugar contents. Leaf malondialdehyde levels were significantly lower while ascorbate peroxidase(APX) activity was significantly higher in acclimatized seedlings, suggesting that elevated osmolytes and APX confer resistance to chilling temperatures. In this study on the response of mulberry seedlings to chilling stress, we also looked at the recovery process. | 7 | Design and test of flexible chassis automatic tracking steering system显示文摘In order to develop an innovative omnidirectional non-homonymic flexible chassis(FC),the four-wheel steering control method of FC was designed by a new concept called off-centered steering(OCS)and the automatic tracking steering system was analyzed.Novelty of this wheel concept lies in the non-conventional positioning of the steering axis and wheel axis.Additionally,the steering axis of steerable wheel was motorized with an on/off electrometrical brake to overcome a hyper-motorization issue inherent to the wheel’s geometrical properties and hold the steering position.Based on the off-centered steering characteristics of FC,the Wheatstone bridge was applied in the steering control system.The bridge resistances are used to track target steering angles and the actual steering angle,respectively.The output voltage of the bridge is exploited to adjust the wheel’s speed so that steering and automatic tracking could be achieved.Experiments at different speeds,loadings,and target steering angles were conducted.Results showed that the chassis can indeed be controlled independently and its steering range is from-90°to 90°,which indicated the automatic tracking steering system was effective.The electromagnetic lock(EL)can significantly improve the stability of the chassis and reduce the vibration.Loading has no significant effect on the accuracy of the steering angle and the time it takes to complete steering tasks.The time taken to complete a forward steering task showed a linear relationship with the required angles,but was independent of rotation speed;for backward steering,time was related to both target angles and rotation speed.The results presented in this research may provide a reference for the steering control strategies of the four-wheel individual drive and four-wheel(4WID/4WIS)vehicle in the future. | Song Shujie Li Yining Qu Jiwei Zhou Wei Guo Kangquan | 2017 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,5: | 4 |

| 10 | Constructing a V2G-enabled Regional Energy Internet for Cost-efficient Carbon Trading显示文摘The increasing penetration of plug-in electric ve- hicles (PEVs) has highlighted the importance of coordinating ubiquitous distributed energy resources (DERs) via the internet of things (IoT).With the help of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology, PEVs can be aggregated to behave as a storage system, yielding both economic and environmental benefits. In this paper, we propose an optimal bidding framework for a V2G-enabled re- gional energy internet (REI) to participate in day-ahead markets considering carbon trading. The REI operator aims to maximize the net profits from day-ahead markets while anticipating real- time adjustments. A detailed battery model is developed to depict the charging and discharging capability of V2G-enabled PEVs. A two-stage stochastic optimization model is formulated to schedule the operation of PEV fleets against various sources of uncertainties, e.g., the arrival and departure time of PEVs, solar power and real-time prices. | 12 | Species transformation and structure variation of fulvic acid during ozonation显示文摘The species transformation and structure variation of fulvic acid (FA) during ozonation were investi- gated in this study. The molecular weight (MW) distribution, the species of intermediate products and the variation of polar functional groups were studied by ultrafiltration, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and titration analyses respectively. The average MW of FA decreased signifi- cantly during ozonation. The amount of polar functional groups (carboxylic and phenolic (ph-OH) groups) per unit DOC (mol/kg C) increased with increasing ozonation time. Furthermore, GC/MS ex- periments demonstrated the formation of polar species (e.g., hexadecanoic acid, benzoic acid and oc- tadecanoic alcohol) and less-polar species (e.g., aliphatic hydrocarbons and butanedioic acid, bis(2-methylpropyl) ester). Electron spin resonance (ESR) measurements proved the presence of ·OH radicals in the ozonation system. Based on our experimental results, it appears that the oxidations by ozone molecule and ·OH radicals were responsible for the transformation of organics (FA and its oxi- dation products) during ozonation. | 13 | Berberine mitigates hepatic insulin resistance by enhancing mitochondrial architecture via the SIRT1/Opa1 signalling pathway显示文摘The aberrant changes of fussion/fission-related proteins can trigger mitochondrial dynamics imbalance,which cause mitochondrial dysfunctions and result insulin resistance(IR).However,the relationship between the inner mitochondrial membrane fusion protein optic atrophy 1(Opa1)and hepatic IR as well as the specific molecular mechanisms of signal transduction has not been fully elucidated.In this study,we explore whether abnormalities in the Opa1 cause hepatic IR and whether berberine(BBR)can prevent hepatic IR through the SIRT1/Opa1 signalling pathway.High-fat diet(HFD)-fed mice and db/db mice are used as animal models to study hepatic IR in vivo.IR,morphological changes,and mitochondrial injury of the liver are examined to explore the effects of BBR.SIRT1/Opa1 protein expression is determined to confirm whether the signalling pathway is damaged in the model animals and is involved in BBR treatment-mediated mitigation of hepatic IR.A palmitate(PA)-induced hepatocyte IR model is established in HepG2 cells in vitro.Opa1 silencing and SIRT1 overexpression are induced to verify whether Opa1 deficiency causes hepatocyte IR and whether SIRT1 improves this dysfunction.BBR treatment and SIRT1 silencing are employed to confirm that BBR can prevent hepatic IR by activating the SIRT1/Opa1 signalling pathway.Western blot analysis and JC-1 fluorescent staining results show that Opa1 deficiency causes an imbalance in mitochondrial fusion/fission and impairs insulin signalling in HepG2 cells.SIRT1 and BBR overexpression ameliorates PA-induced IR,increases Opa1,and improves mitochondrial function.SIRT1 silencing partly reverses the effects of BBR on HepG2 cells.SIRT1 and Opa1 expressions are downregulated in the animal models.BBR attenuates hepatic IR and enhances SIRT1/Opa1 signalling in db/db mice.In summary,Opa1 silencing-mediated mitochondrial fusion/fission imbalance could lead to hepatocyte IR.BBR may improve hepatic IR by regulating the SIRT1/Opa1 signalling pathway,and thus,it may be used to treat type-2 diabetes. | Jia Xu Yining Zhang Zhiyi Yu Yueqi Guan Yuqian Lv Meishuang Zhang Ming Zhang Li Chen Xiaoyan Lv Fengying Guan | 2022 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,10: | 3 |

| 19 | Newly self-administered two-step tool for screening cognitive function in an ageing Chinese population:an exploratory cross-sectional study显示文摘Background Early screening of cognitive function is critical to dementia treatment and care.However,traditional tests require face-to-face administration and are often limited by implementation costs and biases.Aims This study aimed to assess whether the Thoven Cognitive Self-Assessment(TCSA),a novel,innovative two-step touchscreen-based cognition assessment tool,could identify early cognitive impairment due to dementia in older adults.Methods The TCSA was administered to 61 healthy controls(HCs),46 participants with mild cognitive impairment(MCI)and 44 participants diagnosed with dementia recruited from Shanghai.Two outcome measures were generated from the TCSA test:the TCSA_(primary task)score and the TCSA_(secondary task)score.Results The total average scores in the control group for the TCSA_(primary task)and TCSA_(secondary task)were significantly higher than those in the MCI and dementia groups(TCSA_(primary task):HCs vs MCI group vs dementia group,8.58±1.76 vs 5.40±2.67 vs 2.74±2.11,F=75.40,p<0.001;TCSA_(secondary task):HCs vs MCI group vs dementia group,23.02±3.31 vs 17.95±4.93 vs 11.93±5.50,F=76.46,p<0.001).Moreover,receiver operating characteristic analysis showed that a score below 7.5 for the TCSA_(primary task)and a score below 22.5 for the TCSA_(secondary task)were indicators of MCI.Conclusions The TCSA appears to be efficacious for the detection of cognitive impairment in older adults.It demonstrates the potential for large-scale cognition screening in community service settings. | Jing Nie Yang Yang Yining Gao Wenwen Jiang Aisikeer Aidina Fei Sun Lucas R Prieto Jie Yu Kang Ju Lisheng Song Xia Li | 2023 | General Psychiatry2023,36,1: | 2 |
| 20 | Spatial and temporal evolution of landfast ice near Zhongshan Station, East Antarctica, over an annual cycle in 2011/2012显示文摘Annual observations of first-year ice(FYI) and second-year ice(SYI) near Zhongshan Station, East Antarctica,were conducted for the first time from December 2011 to December 2012. Melt ponds appeared from early December 2011. Landfast ice partly broke in late January, 2012 after a strong cyclone. Open water was refrozen to form new ice cover in mid-February, and then FYI and SYI co-existed in March with a growth rate of 0.8 cm/d for FYI and a melting rate of 2.7 cm/d for SYI. This difference was due to the oceanic heat flux and the thickness of ice,with weaker heat flux through thicker ice. From May onward, FYI and SYI showed a similar growth by 0.5 cm/d.Their maximum thickness reached 160.5 cm and 167.0 cm, respectively, in late October. Drillings showed variations of FYI thickness to be generally less than 1.0 cm, but variations were up to 33.0 cm for SYI in March,suggesting that the SYI bottom was particularly uneven. Snow distribution was strongly affected by wind and surface roughness, leading to large thickness differences in the different sites. Snow and ice thickness in Nella Fjord had a similar 'east thicker, west thinner' spatial distribution. Easterly prevailing wind and local topography led to this snow pattern. Superimposed ice induced by snow cover melting in summer thickened multi-year ice,causing it to be thicker than the snow-free SYI. The estimated monthly oceanic heat flux was ~30.0 W/m2 in March–May, reducing to ~10.0 W/m2 during July–October, and increasing to ~15.0 W/m2 in November. The seasonal change and mean value of 15.6 W/m2 was similar to the findings of previous research.
