Each mode has a pair of cyclonic-anticyclonic gyres. The difference is the location of the cyclonic gyre. The cyclonic gyre stretches from southeast to northwest in the first mode and from the southwest to the northeast in the second mode. The observed modes strongly affect the heat and salt transport in the North Atlantic. | 10 | Oral microbiota and host innate immune response in bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw显示文摘Bacterial biofilms have emerged as potential critical triggers in the pathogenesis of bisphosphonate(BP)-related osteonecrosis of the jaw(ONJ) or BRONJ. BRONJ lesions have shown to be heavily colonized by oral bacteria, most of these difficult to cultivate and presents many clinical challenges. The purpose of this study was to characterize the bacterial diversity in BRONJ lesions and to determine host immune response. We examined tissue specimens from three cohorts(n530); patients with periodontal disease without a history of BP therapy(Control, n510), patients with periodontal disease having history of BP therapy but without ONJ(BP, n55) and patients with BRONJ(BRONJ, n515). Denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis of polymerase chain reaction(PCR)-amplified 16 S r RNA gene fragments revealed less bacterial diversity in BRONJ than BP and Control cohorts. Sequence analysis detected six phyla with predominant affiliation to Firmicutes in BRONJ(71.6%), BP(70.3%) and Control(59.1%). Significant differences(P,0.05) in genera were observed, between Control/BP, Control/BRONJ and BP/BRONJ cohorts. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)results indicated that the levels of myeloperoxidase were significantly lower, whereas interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha levels were moderately elevated in BRONJ patients as compared to Controls. PCR array showed significant changes in BRONJ patients with downregulation of host genes, such as nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain containing protein 2, and cathepsin G, the key modulators for antibacterial response and upregulation of secretory leukocyte protease inhibitor, proteinase 3 and conserved helix–loop–helix ubiquitous kinase. | 11 | Validation of Aura Microwave Limb Sounder water vapor and ozone profiles over the Tibetan Plateau and its adjacent region during boreal summer显示文摘We present validation studies of MLS V2.2 and V3.3 water vapor(WV) and ozone profiles over the Tibetan Plateau(Naqu and Lhasa) and its adjacent region(Tengchong) respectively by using the balloon-borne Cryogenic Frost point Hygrometer and Electrochemical Concentration Cell ozonesonde. Coincident in situ measurements were selected to compare the MLS V2.2 and V3.3 WV and ozone profiles for understanding the applicability of the two version MLS products over the region. MLS V2.2 and V3.3 WV profiles respectively show their differences within ?2.2±15.7%(n=74) and 0.3±14.9%(n=75) in the stratosphere at and above 82.5 h Pa. Accordingly, at 100 h Pa, the altitude approaching the tropopuase height, differences are within 9.8± 46.0%(n=18) and 23.0±45.8%(n=17), and they are within 21.5±90.6%(n=104) and 6.0±83.4%(n=99) in upper troposphere. The differences of MLS ozone are within ?11.7±16.3%(n=135, V2.2) and 15.6±24.2%(n=305, V3.3) at and above 82.5 h Pa. At 100 h Pa, they are within ?3.5±54.4%(n=27) and ?8.7±41.6%(n=38), and within 18.0±79.1%(n=47) and 34.2±76.6%(n=160) in the upper troposphere. The relative difference of MLS WV and ozone profile has significant oscillation and scatter at upper troposphere and lower stratosphere partly due to the stronger gradients of WV and ozone concentrations here as well the linear interpolation of sonde data for the intercomparison. At and below 70 h Pa, the relative differences of MLS ozone are significantly larger over Lhasa during the Tibetan Plateau 'ozone valley' season, which is also the Asian Summer Monsoon period. The MLS ozone differences over the three sites are similar in their vertical distributions during that period. A simple linear correlation analysis between MLS and sonde profiles indicates that the sensitivity of MLS profile products is related to concentrations at each pressure level. The MLS V3.3 product sensitivity is slightly improved for WV at and above 82.5 h Pa, whereas it is not obvious for ozone. | 13 | Effects of atmospheric circulation on summertime precipitation variability and glacier mass balance over the Tuyuksu Glacier in Tianshan Mountains, Kazakhstan显示文摘The amount and the form of precipitation have significant effects on glacier mass balances in high altitude mountain areas by controlling the accumulation, the ablation and the energy balance of a glacier through impact on the surface albedo. The liquid precipitation has negative effects on glacier accumulation and may increase the ablation of surface ice through the heat input for melting. The timing and the forms of precipitation over glacierized regions depend on the weather processes both locally and regionally. Early studies showed that regional to large-scale atmospheric circulation processes play a key role in affecting the precipitation events over glaciers. This paper analyzed the relationship between the inter-annual variability of the summertime precipitation over the Tuyuksu Glacier and the atmospheric circulation types, which related to various atmospheric circulation types in the Northern Hemisphere. Results indicated that the decrease in the duration of zonal processes and the increase in the meridional northern processes were observed in the last decade. The total summer precipitation associated with these processes also increased along with an increase of summertime solid precipitation. | 15 | Tenecteplase Reperfusion therapy in Acute ischaemic Cerebrovascular Events-Ⅱ (TRACE Ⅱ): rationale and design显示文摘Background and purpose Tenecteplase(TNK)is a promising agent for treatment of acute ischaemic stroke(AIS).We hypothesised that recombinant human TNK tissue-type plasminogen activator(rhTNK-tPA)is non-inferior to rt-PA in achieving excellent functional outcome at 90 days,when administered within 4.5 hours of ischaemic stroke onset.Methods and design Tenecteplase Reperfusion therapy in Acute ischemic Cerebrovascular Events(TRACE)is a phase Ⅲ,multicentre,prospective,randomised,open-label,blinded-end point non-inferiority study.Patients eligible for intravenous thrombolysis therapy are randomised to rhTNK-tPA 0.25 mg/kg(single bolus)to a maximum of 25 mg or rt-PA 0.9 mg/kg(10%bolus+90%infusion/1 hour)to a maximum of 90 mg.Medications considered necessary for the patient’s health may be given at the discretion of the investigator during 90-day follow-up.Study outcomes The primary study outcome is excellent functional outcome defined as modified Rankin Scale(mRS)0–1 at 90 days.Secondary efficacy outcomes include favourable functional outcome defined as mRS≤2 at 90 days,ordinal distribution of mRS and major neurological improvement on the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale.Safety outcomes are symptomatic intracranial haemorrhage within 36 hours and death from any cause.Discussion There is no completed registration study of TNK in AIS worldwide.TRACE Ⅱ strives to provide evidence for a new drug application for rhTNK-tPA in AIS within 4.5 hours through a well-designed and rigorously executed randomised trial in China. | Shuya Li Bruce C V Campbell Lee H Schwamm Marc Fisher Mark Parsons Hao Li Yuesong Pan Yongjun Wang | 2022 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2022,7,1: | 2 |
