1飞秒激光烧蚀氟化钙晶体表面特性显示文摘采用飞秒激光对氟化钙晶体表面进行加工。通过调控激光参数,采用静止聚焦和动态扫描两种方式在晶体表面加工出一系列微结构(烧蚀孔和烧蚀线)。分别对两种加工方式烧蚀后的氟化钙晶体表面微结构进行系统研究,包括参数依赖关系、材料表面烧蚀阈值等。计算结果表明:在静止聚焦情况下,累积因子为0.0033;在动态扫描情况下,当扫描方向与激光偏振方向垂直或平行时,累积因子分别为0.0043和0.0052。飞秒激光加工过程中的脉冲累积效应能够对晶体的烧蚀产生重要影响。郭太勇 张立木 任莹莹 蔡阳健 Carolina Romero Javier R.Vázquez de Aldana 2019光学学报2019,39,1:8
2Q-switching of waveguide lasers based on graphene/WS_2 van der Waals heterostructure显示文摘We report on the operation of passively Q-switched waveguide lasers at 1 μm wavelength based on a graphene∕WS_2 heterostructure as a saturable absorber(SA). The gain medium is a crystalline Nd:YVO_4 cladding waveguide produced by femtosecond laser writing. The nanosecond waveguide laser operation at 1064 nm has been realized with the maximum average output power of 275 m W and slope efficiency of 37%. 3Chemical and spectroscopic characterization of humic substances from sediment and riparian soil of a highly polluted urban river (Suquía River, Cordoba, Argentina)显示文摘The Suquía River,the largest urban river in C ordoba(Argentina),has been severely polluted for decades.Actions must be taken to restore its environmental quality by managing riparian zones for increased water-self purification.The current study aimed to characterize organic matter(OM)dynamics and humic substances(HS)spectrochemical properties along the lower-middle basin of the Suquía River.Riparian soil(0e20 cm)and sediment(0e10 cm)samples were collected from a reference location(S1)and four polluted sites(S2eS5)during a low-flow period.The contents of soil and sedimentary OM and HS fractions were analyzed by wet oxidation,as well as HS Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR)and ultravioletevisible(UVeVis)spectrochemical properties.The OM and HS fractions from riparian soil were high upstream of C ordoba City(S1 and S2,50.2e50.4 g/kg OM)and within a 50 km downstream location(S5,30.9 g/kg OM)owing to a surplus of fresh plant biomass-carbon(C)inputs.Highly heterogeneous sediment samples did not show any significant differences among sites(P>0.05).The lowest values of the ratio of absorbances at 465 and 665 nm(E4/E6)(1.78)and the Δ log K(0.15)coefficient(a measure of HS maturity degree)were obtained downstream of C ordoba City,for both riparian soil and sediment,indicating that HS were enriched by more condensed aromatic structures within highly degraded portions of the river.All samples exhibited similar IR spectra,implying overlapping recalcitrant-C structures at the functional group level,but with different absorbance intensity.Data from the current study constitute a baseline for understanding the chemical nature of HS from sediment and riparian soil along the Suquía River and can be used as a reference for future studies tracking OM compositional changes over time.Carolina Merlo Carolina Vázquez Ana Graciela Iriarte Carlos Matías Romero 2020International Journal of Sediment Research2020,35,3:3

7Passively Q-switched femtosecond-laser-written thulium waveguide laser based on evanescent field interaction with carbon nanotubes显示文摘Surface channel waveguides(WGs) were fabricated in a monoclinic Tm^(3+):KLu(WO_4)_2 crystal by femtosecond direct laser writing(fs-DLW). The WGs consisted of a half-ring cladding with diameters of 50 and 60 μm located just beneath the crystal surface. They were characterized by confocal laser microscopy and μ-Raman spectroscopy,indicating a reduced crystallinity and stress-induced birefringence of the WG cladding. In continuous-wave(CW)mode, under Ti:sapphire laser pumping at 802 nm, the maximum output power reached 171.1 mW at 1847.4 nm,corresponding to a slope efficiency η of 37.8% for the 60 μm diameter WG. The WG propagation loss was0.7 0.3 d B∕cm. The top surface of the WGs was spin-coated by a polymethyl methacrylate film containing randomly oriented(spaghetti-like) arc-discharge single-walled carbon nanotubes serving as a saturable absorber based on evanescent field coupling. Stable passively Q-switched(PQS) operation was achieved. The PQS60 μm diameter WG laser generated a record output power of 150 m W at 1846.8 nm with η = 34.6%. The conversion efficiency with respect to the CW mode was 87.6%. 8Dietary carbohydrate-to-protein ratio influences growth performance,hepatic health and dynamic of gut microbiota in atlantic salmon(Salmo salar)显示文摘Atlantic salmon(Salmo salar)fed a carbohydrate-rich diet exhibit suboptimal growth performance,along with other metabolic disturbances.It is well known that gut microbes play a pivotal role in influencing metabolism of the host,and these microbes can be modified by the diet.The main goal of the present study was to determine the effect of feeding graded levels of digestible carbohydrates to Atlantic salmon on the distal intestine digesta microbiota at 3 sampling times(i.e.,weeks 4,8 and 12),during a 12-week trial.A low carbohydrate-to-high protein diet(LC/HP,0%wheat starch),a medium carbohydrate-tomedium protein diet(MC/MP,15%wheat starch)or a high carbohydrate-to-low protein diet(HC/LP,30%wheat starch)was fed to triplicate fish tanks(27 to 28 fish per tank).We performed an in-depth characterization of the distal intestine digesta microbiota.Further,growth parameters,liver histology and the expression of genes involved in hepatic neolipogenesis in fish were measured.Fish fed a HC/LP diet showed greater hepatosomatic and viscerosomatic indexes(P=0.026 and P=0.018,respectively),lower final weight(P=0.005),weight gain(P=0.003),feed efficiency(P=0.033)and growth rate(P=0.003)compared with fish fed the LC/HP diet.Further,feeding salmon a high digestible carbohydrate diet caused greater lipid vacuolization,steatosis index(P=0.007)and expression of fatty acid synthase(fas)and delta-6 fatty acyl desaturase(d6fad)(P=0.001 and P=0.001,respectively)in the liver compared with fish fed the LC/HP diet.Although,the major impact of feeding a carbohydrate-rich diet to Atlantic salmon in beta diversity of distal intestine digesta microbiota was observed at week 4(HC/LP vs MC/MP and HC/LP vs LC/HP;P=0.007 and P=0.008,respectively)and week 8(HC/LP vs MC/MP;P=0.04),no differences between experimental groups were detected after 12 weeks of feeding.Finally,at the end of the trial,there was a negative correlation between lactic acid bacteria(LAB)members,including Leuconostoc and Lactobacillus,with hepatic steatosis level,the hepatosomatic and viscerosomatic indexes as well as the expression of fas and d6fad.Weissella showed negative correlation with hepatic steatosis level and the hepatosomatic index.Finally,further research to explore the potential use of LAB as probiotics to improve liver health in carnivorous fish fed fatty liver-induced diet is warranted.Alejandro Villasante Carolina Ramírez Hector Rodríguez Patricio Dantagnan Adrian Hernandez Elías Figueroa Jaime Romero 2022Animal Nutrition2022,,3:1
9Multi-gigahertz mode-locked femtosecond Yb:KLuW waveguide lasers显示文摘We demonstrate multi-gigahertz continuous-wave mode-locking of a Yb:KLuW waveguide laser. A femtosecondlaser-inscribed Yb:KLuW channel waveguide in an extended laser cavity delivers a fundamentally mode-locked laser near 1030 nm. A tunable few-centimeter-long cavity containing a single-walled carbon nanotube saturable absorber as mode-locker generates self-starting femtosecond pulses with average output powers exceeding210 mW at repetition rates of 2.27, 2.69, and 3.55 GHz. The laser cavity, which includes a wedged waveguide,is extended by using a lens pair that controls the laser fluence on the saturable absorber for reliable mode-locked operation without instability. 10Clinical characteristics of COVID-19 hospitalized patients associated with mortality:A cohort study in Spain显示文摘Background:The heterogeneity of patients with COVID-19 may explain the wide variation of mortality rate due to the population characteristics,presence of comorbidities and clinical manifestations.Methods:In this study,we analyzed 5342 patients’recordings and selected a cohort of 177 hospitalized patients with a poor prognosis at an early stage.We assessed during 6 months their symptomatology,coexisting health conditions,clinical measures and health assistance related to mortality.Multiple Cox proportional hazards models were built to identify the associated factors with mortality risk.Results:We observed that cough and kidney failure triplicate the mortality risk and both bilirubin levels and oncologic condition are shown as the most associated with the demise,increasing in four and ten times the risk,respectively.Other clinical characteristics such as fever,diabetes mellitus,breathing frequency,neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio,oxygen saturation,and troponin levels,were also related to mortality risk of in-hospital death.Conclusions:The present study shows that some symptomatology,comorbidities and clinical measures could be the target of prevention tools to improve survival rates.Manuel Lozano Adina Iftimi Alvaro Briz-Redon Juanjo Peiró Lara Manyes María Otero Mayte Ballester MDolores de las Marinas Juan Carlos Catalá Joséde Andrés Carolina Romero 2022Infectious Medicine2022,1,2:0
11Early detection of tomato bacterial canker by reflectance indices显示文摘Early detection of infected asymptomatic plants could prevent the dissemination of tomatobacterial canker throughout the crop and, thus, reduce associated economic losses. Reflectance spectroscopy has been proposed for the detection of diseases in plants, mainlycaused by foliar fungal pathogens. In contrast, bacterial canker is a vascular disease thatdoes not produce visible foliar symptoms until it is too late to avoid contagion to otherplants. The effects of the disease on the conductivity of the xylem have an impact onthe water content of the leaves;initially, a subtle effect that cannot be assessed with thenaked eye but can be evaluated by reflectance spectroscopy. The objective of this workwas to identify indices, based on the reflectance spectral signature of the plants, for thedetection of tomato plants affected by bacterial canker prior to the appearance of symptoms. To verify that the proposed methodology is applicable to a broad range of tomatogenotypes, two experiments were carried out with different tomato cultivars grown in potsand another on the ground in a greenhouse. Plants were inoculated with the pathogenicbacteria and the reflectance spectrum of the apical leaflet of two leaves per plant wereobtained before symptoms expression;several spectral indices were calculated from thereflectance spectra. Three indices, of the shortwave-infrared zone, allowed the detectionof bacterial canker inoculated plants in a fast and non-destructive way, up to one weekbefore symptoms were visible: Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI), Simple Ratioof Water Index (SRWI) and Water Index 1 180 (WI1180). Our research demonstrates, forthe first time, the usefulness of spectral indices sensitive to water content for the identifi-cation of diseased plants.
