Reactive capillary hemangiomas: a novel dermatologic toxicity following anti-PD-1 treatment with SHR-1210显示文摘Objective: SHR-1210 is a new and promising anti-PD-1 agent for solid tumors. During the phase I study of SHR-1210, we encountered a novel but prevalent immune-related dermatologic toxicity: reactive capillary hemangiomas(RCHs). Thus we tried to summarize the features of RCHs and estimate their relationship with tumor response. Methods: This prospective observational study systematically enrolled 98 patients with advanced solid tumors from April 27th,2016 to June 8th, 2017 in the context of the phase I clinical study of SHR-1210. This report focused on the skin toxicities. Patients underwent entire skin inspection every two weeks while taking medication. The clinical course of RCHs was recorded and their association with tumor response was estimated. The data cut-off date was November 15th, 2017.Results: After a median follow-up of 242(range, 29–567) days, RCHs were observed in 85.7%(84/98) of patients on cutaneous/mucosal surfaces; 84.5%(71/84) of the RCHs were evaluated as grade 1 adverse events. No grade 3 or 4 RCHs were observed. The time of onset of RCHs was dose dependent and shortest in the 400 mg-dose cohort(P < 0.001). Spontaneous and complete regression of RCHs was observed both during and after treatment. The objective response rate of tumors for patients with RCHs was 28.9%(24/83). However, no responders were observed among the patients without RCHs.Conclusions: RCHs were prevalent but manageable during treatment with SHR-1210. It might add to the expanding literature regarding immune-related dermatologic adverse events. | Xuelian Chen Lanying Ma Xi Wang Hongnan Mo Dawei Wu Bo Lan Dong Qu Hongtu Zhang Jing Huang Binghe Xu | 2019 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2019,16,1: | 53
Transmutation of ancient settlements and environmental changes between 6000-2000 aBP in the Chaohu Lake Basin, East China显示文摘Based on the temporal-spatial distribution features of ancient settlement sites from the middle and late Neolithic Age to the Han dynasty in the Chaohu Lake Basin of Anhui Province,East China, using the methods of GIS combined with the reconstructed paleoenvironment by the records of lake sediment since Holocene, the transmutation of ancient settlements with response to environmental changes in this area has been discussed.Studies show that the main feature of transmutation of ancient settlements from the middle and late Neolithic Age to the Han Dynasty was that the distribution of settlements in this area changed from high altitudes to low ones and kept approaching the Chaohu Lake with the passage of time. These could be the response to the climate change from warm-moist to a relatively warm-dry condition during the middle Holocene, leading to the lake level fluctuations. The large area of exposed land provided enough space for human activities. These indicate that the above changes in geomorphologic evolution and hydrology influenced by climate conditions affected the transmutation of ancient settlements greatly. The distribution pattern of settlement sites was that the number of sites in the west was more than in the east. This pattern may be related to the geomorphologic conditions such as frequent channel shifting of the Yangtze River as well as flood disasters during the Holocene optimum. Therefore, climate change was the inducement of the transmutation of ancient settlements in the Chaohu Lake Basin, which exerted great influence on the distribution, expansion and development of the ancient settlements. | WU Li WANG Xinyuan ZHOU Kunshu MO Duowen ZHU Cheng GAO Chao ZHANG Guangsheng LI Lan LIU Li HAN Weiguang | 2010 | Journal of Geographical Sciences2010,20,5: | 16
Genome sequences of horticultural plants:past, present, and future显示文摘Horticultural plants play various and critical roles for humans by providing fruits, vegetables, materials for beverages, and herbal medicines and by acting as ornamentals. They have also shaped human art, culture, and environments and thereby have influenced the lifestyles of humans. With the advent of sequencing technologies, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of sequenced genomes of horticultural plant species in the past decade. The genomes of horticultural plants are highly diverse and complex, often with a high degree of heterozygosity and a high ploidy due to their long and complex history of evolution and domestication. Here we summarize the advances in the genome sequencing of horticultural plants, the reconstruction of pan-genomes,and the development of horticultural genome databases. We also discuss past, present, and future studies related to genome sequencing, data storage, data quality, data sharing, and data visualization to provide practical guidance for genomic studies of horticultural plants. Finally,we propose a horticultural plant genome project as well as the roadmap and technical details toward three goals of the project. | Fei Chen Yunfeng Song Xiaojiang Li Junhao Chen Lan Mo Xingtan Zhang Zhenguo Lin Liangsheng Zhang | 2019 | Horticulture Research2019,6,1: | 16

Mesoscopic Simulation Assistant Design of Immiscible Polyimide/BN Blend Films with Enhanced Thermal Conductivity显示文摘The mesoscopic simulation technique was applied to describe the phase separation behavior of polyimide blends and used for design of immiscible polyimide/BN blend films with enhanced thermal conductivity. The simulation equilibrium morphologies of different poly(amic acid)(PAA) blend systems were investigated and compared with optical images of corresponding polyimide blend films obtained by experiment. The immiscible polyimide blend films containing nano-/micro-sized BN with vertical double percolation structure were prepared. The result indicated that the thermal conductivity of polyimide blend film with 25 wt% nano-sized BN reached1.16 W/(m·K), which was 236% increment compared with that of the homogenous film containing the same BN ratio. The significant enhancement in thermal conductivity was attributed to the good phase separation of polyimide matrix, which made the inorganic fillers selectively localized in one continuous phase with high packing density, consequently, forming the effective thermal conductive pathway. | Guo-Dong Zhang Lin Fan Lan Bai Min-Hui He Lei Zhai Song Mo | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Polymer Science2018,36,12: | 9
Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear. Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks. Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease, while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes. | MA Yan ZHU Dong Shan CHEN Ren Bo SHI Nan Nan LIU Si Hong FAN Yi Pin WU Gui Hui YANG Pu Ye BAI Jiang Feng CHEN Hong CHEN Li Ying FENG Qiao GUO Tuan Mao HOU Yong HU Gui Fen HU Xiao Mei HU Yun Hong HUANG Jin HUANG Qiu Hua HUANG Shao Zhen JI Liang JIN Hai Hao LEI Xiao LI Chun Yan LI Min Qing LI Qun Tang LI Xian Yong LIU Hong De LIU Jin Ping LIU Zhang MA Yu Ting MAO Ya MO Liu Fen NA Hui WANG Jing Wei SONG Fang Li SUN Sheng WANG Dong Ting WANG Ming Xuan WANG Xiao Yan WANG Yin Zhen WANG Yu Dong WU Wei WU Lan Ping XIAO Yan Hua XIE Hai Jun XU Hong Ming XU Shou Fang XUE Rui Xia YANG Chun YANG Kai Jun YUAN Sheng Li ZHANG Gong Qi ZHANG Jin Bo ZHANG Lin Song ZHAO Shu Sen ZHAO Wan Ying ZHENG Kai ZHOU Ying Chun ZHU Jun Teng ZHU Tian Qing ZHANG Hua Min WANG Yan Ping WANG Yong Yan 无 | 2020 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2020,33,12: | 8
Hydrolyzed seawater pearl tablet modulates the immunity via attenuating Th1/Th2 imbalance in an immunosuppressed mouse model显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate whether Hydrolyzed Seawater Pearl tablet(HSPT) could modulate the Th1/Th2 imbalance in an immunosuppressed mouse model with Th1 to Th2 shift induced by Cyclosporine A(Cs A) which can be used in the clinical treatment of Th2 to Th1 shift diseases, and explore the possible mechanism for the adjuvant therapeutic efficacy of HSPT on recurrent respiratory infections(RRI) and acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS).METHODS: The mice were randomly divided into six groups of five animals each, namely normal group, model group, lentinan polysaccharide tablet(LPT) group and three HPST treated groups. HPST treated groups were administered with HPST(0.51,1.02, 2.04 g/kg) via intragastric gavage(i.g) for 30 consecutive days. LPT used as reference drug for positive control, LPT group was administered with LPT(8.2 mg/kg) for 30 consecutive days. Normal group and model group were received distilled water. The animals in model group, LPT group and HPST treated groups were injected intraperitoneally with Cs A(50 mg/kg) to establish the immunosuppressed mice model with Th1 to Th2 shift on the20 th, 22 nd and 24 th day, one hour after the administration of the respective treatment. Animals were sacrificed one hour after the last administration to collect blood and splenic tissue. The proportion of T cells including CD8+ and CD4+ T cells, Th1 and Th2 in peripheral blood of experimental mice were measured by flow cytometric. The protein level in serum and m RNA level in splenic tissue of experimental mice for interleukin(IL)-2, IL-12, interferon-γ(IFN-γ), IL-4, IL-6, IL-10 and IL-13 were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay and fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction respectively.RESULTS: HSPT elevated the proportion of T cells including both CD8+ and CD4+ T cells, in which the proportion of Th1 and Th2 cells increased, while the ratio of Th1/Th2 cells decreased in peripheral blood of the immunosuppressed mouse model with Th1 to Th2 shift induced by Cs A. Furthermore,HSPT elevated both protein and m RNA level of Th1-type cytokines IL-2 and IFN-γ, while had no significant effect on protein and m RNA level of Th1-type cytokine IL-12 and Th2-type cytokines IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, IL-13 in mouse model.CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that HSPT can increase proportion of T cells including both CD8+and CD4+T cells and induce Th2 to Th1 shift in both cells and cytokines, which probably was the mechanism to account for the adjuvant therapeutic efficacy of HSPT on RRI and AIDS. | LAN Taijin LUO Xuefei MO Mingyue CHEN Zhenxing LUO Fei HAN Siyin LIU Peng LIANG Zhongxiu ZHANG Ting LI Tianyi YAN Qiangqiang LIN Yong LIN Jiang | 2021 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,3: | 6
Thermal Expansion Behavior of Poly(amide-imide)Films with Ultrahigh Tensile Strength and Ultralow CTE显示文摘A series of novel poly(amide-imide)(PAl)films with different amide contents were prepared from pyromellitic dianhydride and four amide-containing diamines. These PAl films exhibited excellent mechanical and thermal properties with tensile strength of 203.7-297.4 MPa and Tg above 407℃.The rigid backbone structures combined with strong intermolecular interactions provided PAl films with ultralow in-plane CTE values from-4.17 ppm/℃to-0.39 ppm/℃in the temperature range of 30-300℃.The correlation between thermal expansion behavior and aggregation structures of PAl film was investigated. The results suggested that hydrogen bonding interactions could be maintained even at high temperature, thus resulting in good dimension reversibility of films in multiple heating-cooling cycles. It is demonstrated that dimensional stabilities of PAl films are determined by the rigidity, orientation, and packing of molecular chains.Heat-resistant PAl films with ultralow CTE can be developed as flexible substrates by regulating backbones and aggregation structures for optoelectronic application. | Lan Bai Lei Zhai Min-Hui He Chang-Ou Wang Song Mo Lin Fan | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Polymer Science2020,38,7: | 4

Induction and characterization of polyploids from seeds of Rhododendron fortunei Lindl.显示文摘Most Rhododendron species are ornamental flowering species widely distributed in Asia,North America, and West Europe.Rhododendron fortunei, one of the endemic Rhododendron species in China, has beautiful flowers with bright colors and is being exploited to meet the needs of the flower market.Polyploid plants usually show superiority in growth, disease resistance, and adaption over their diploid relatives. Here,we report the first case of polyploid induction in R.fortunei.In order to induce polyploidy in R.fortunei, germinating seeds were treated with different concentrations of oryzalin for 16 h.By evaluating ploidy level with flow cytometry,a total of 34 polyploid R.fortunei lines, including 27 tetraploid lines and seven octoploid lines, were obtained.A comparison of treatments indicated that 7.5 mg L^-1 oryzalin was the optimal concentration for polyploid induction in seeds of R.fortunei.Compared with diploid plants, tetraploid and octoploid plants exhibited slower growth rates and had thicker and rounder curled leaves with more leaf epidermal hairs. Moreover, larger stomata at lower density were also observed in the leaves of polyploid plants.Chlorophyll contents were also significantly increased in polyploid plants, which leads to a darker green leaf color. Both small and large individuals exhibiting the same characteristics were observed among the obtained tetraploid plants.Overall, our study establishes a feasible method for polyploid induction in R.fortunei, thus providing a basis for breeding new R.fortunei varieties. | MO Lan CHEN Jun-hao CHEN Fei XU Qiang-wei TONG Zai-kang HUANG Hua-hong DONG Ren-hui LOU Xiong-zhen LIN Er-pei | 2020 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2020,19,8: | 3
Application of Omega vortex identification method in cavity buffeting noise显示文摘The cavity buffeting noise is related to the free shear layer oscillation and the periodic vortex shedding, where weak vortices coexist with strong vortices and the strong shear phenomenon also exists at the opening of the cavity. Therefore,it is of great significance to accurately capture vortices at the opening for the control of the cavity buffeting noise. This paper first compares the Omega vortex identification method with the Q andλ2criteria based on the large eddy simulation(LES)of the backward-facing step flow, and it is found that the Omega method enjoys the following advantages:it is not sensitive to a moderate threshold change andΩ=0.52 can be used as a fixed threshold,it can capture both the strong and weak vortices at the same time;and it will not be contaminated by the shear. Then the Omega(Ω)method is applied to the LES of the cavity buffeting noise:the mechanism of the cavity buffeting noise is studied based on a simple cavity model firstly, and then the effects of the incoming boundary layer thicknesses and the incoming boundary layer shapes on the cavity buffeting noise are analyzed. The results show that:theΩmethod clearly captures the processes of the vortex generation, development, collision and fragmentation, verifying that the generation of the cavity buffeting noise is related to the free shear layer oscillation and the periodic vortex shedding;as the thickness of the incoming boundary layer increases, the free shear layer becomes more stable and the Helmholtz resonance is avoided effectively, thereby the cavity buffeting noise is reduced effectively, adding a convexity upstream of the cavity opening to interfere the shape of the incoming boundary layer to reduce the acoustic feedback effect can reduce the cavity buffeting noise effectively. | Yang-hui Zhang Xing-jun Hu Wei Lan Yi-chen Liu Mo Wang Jing-yu Wang | 2021 | Journal of Hydrodynamics2021,33,2: | 3

Elevated preoperative CA125 is associated with poor survival in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer undergoing primary tumor resection:a retrospective cohort study显示文摘Background The impact of the preoperative carbohydrate antigen 125(CA125)level on the survival of metastatic colorectal cancer(CRC)patients undergoing primary tumor resection(PTR)remains uncertain. The aim of this study was to assess the prognostic value in overall survival(OS)and cancer-specific survival(CSS)between patients with and without an elevated preoperative CA125 level. Methods All metastatic CRC patients receiving PTR between 2007 and 2017 at the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University(Guangzhou,China)were retrospectively included.OS and CSS rates were compared between patients with and without elevated preoperative CA125 levels. Results Among 326 patients examined,46(14.1%)exhibited elevated preoperative CA125 levels and the remaining 280(85.9%)had normal preoperative CA125 levels.Patients with elevated preoperative CA125 levels had lower body mass index, lower preoperative albumin level, lower proportion of preoperative chemotherapy, higher carcinoembryonic antigen and carbohydrate antigen 19–9(CA19–9)levels,poorer differentiation, and more malignant histopathological type than patients with normal preoperative CA125 levels. In addition, patients with elevated preoperative CA125 levels exhibited more advanced pathological T and N stages, more peritoneal metastasis, and more vessel invasion than patients with normal preoperative CA125 levels. Moreover, the primary tumor was more likely to be located at the colon rather than at the rectum in patients with elevated CA125 levels. Both OS and CSS rates in patients with elevated preoperative CA125 levels were significantly lower than those in patients with normal preoperative CA125 levels.Multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that an elevated preoperative CA125 level was significantly associated with poor prognosis in metastatic CRC patients undergoing PTR.The hazard ratio(HR)in OS was 2.36(95%confidence interval[CI],1.67–3.33,P<0.001)and the HR in CSS was 2.50(95%CI,1.77–3.55,P<0.001).The survival analysis stratified by peritoneal metastasis also demonstrated that patients with elevated preoperative CA125 levels had lower OS and CSS rates regardless of peritoneal metastasis. Conclusion Based on an analysis of metastatic CRC patients undergoing PTR,an elevated preoperative CA125 level was associated with poor prognosis, which should be taken into consideration in clinical practice. | Jun-Hua Huang Hua-Shan Liu Tuo Hu Zong-Jin Zhang Xiao-Wen He Tai-Wei Mo Xiao-Feng Wen Ping Lan Lei Lian Xian-Rui Wu | 2022 | Gastroenterology Report2022,10,1: | 2

SLC1A1-mediated cellular and mitochondrial influx of R-2-hydroxyglutarate in vascular endothelial cells promotes tumor angiogenesis in IDH1-mutant solid tumors显示文摘Muta nt isocitrate dehydrog en ase 1(mlDH1)drives tumorigenesis via produci ng on cometabolite R-2-hydroxyglutarate(R-2-HG)across various tumor types. However,mlDHl in hibitors appear only effective in hematological tumors. The therapeutic ben efit in solid tumors remains elusive, likely due to the complex tumor microenvironment. In this study,we discover that R-2-HG produced by IDH1-mutant tumor cells is preferentially imported into vascular endothelial cells and remodels mitochondrial respiration to promote tumor angiogenesis, conferring a therapeutic vulnerability in IDH1-mutant solid tumors.Mechanistically,SLC1 Alz a Na'-depe ndent glutamate tran sporter that is prefere ntially expressed in en dothelial cells, facilitates the in flux of R-2-HG from the tumor microenvironment into the endothelial cells as well as the intracellular trafficking of R-2-HG from cytoplasm to mitochondria.R-2-HG hijacks SLC1A1 to promote mitochondrial Na^(+)/Ca^(2+)exchange,which activates the mitochondrial respiratory chain and fuels vascular en dothelial cell migratio n in tumor an giogenesis.SLC1A1 deficiency in mice abolishes mlDHl-promoted tumor an giogenesis as well as the therapeutic benefit of mlDHl in hibitor in solid tumors. Moreover,we report that HH2301,a newly discovered mlDHl inhibitor, shows promising efficacy in treating IDH1-mutant cholangiocarcinoma in preclinical models.Together,we identify a new role of SLC1A1 as a gatekeeper of R-2-HG-mediated crosstalk between IDH1-mutant tumor cells and vascular en dothelial cells, and dem on strate the therapeutic potential of mlDHl in hibitors in treating IDH1-muta nt solid tumors via disrupting R-2-HG-promoted tumor angiogenesis. | Xiaomin Wang Ziqi Chen Jun Xu Shuai Tang Nan An Lei Jiang Yixiang Zhang Shaoying Zhang Qingli Zhang Yanyan Shen Shijie Chen Xiaojing Lan Ting Wang Linhui Zhai Siyuwei Cao Siqi Guo Yingluo Liu Aiwei Bi Yuehong Chen Xiameng Gai Yichen Duan Ying Zheng Yixian Fu Yize Li Liang Yuan Linjiang Tong Kun Mo Mingcheng Wang Shu-Hai Lin Minjia Tan Cheng Luo Yi Chen Jia Liu Qiansen Zhang Leping Li Min Huang | 2022 | Cell Research2022,32,7: | 2

1-Pbps orbital angular momentum fibre-optic transmission显示文摘Space-division multiplexing(SDM),as a main candidate for future ultra-high capacity fibre-optic communications, needs to address limitations to its scalability imposed by computation-intensive multi-input multi-output(MIMO)digital signal processing(DSP)required to eliminate the crosstalk caused by optical coupling between multiplexed spatial channels.By exploiting the unique propagation characteristics of orbital angular momentum(OAM)modes in ring core fibres(RCFs),a system that combines SDM and C+L band dense wavelength-division multiplexing(DWDM)in a 34 km 7-core RCF is demonstrated to transport a total of 24960 channels with a raw(net)capacity of 1.223(1.02)Peta-bit s−1(Pbps)and a spectral efficiency of 156.8(130.7)bit s−1 Hz−1.Remarkably for such a high channel count, the system only uses fixed-size 4×4 MIMO DSP modules with no more than 25 time-domain taps.Such ultra-low MIMO complexity is enabled by the simultaneous weak coupling among fibre cores and amongst non-degenerate OAM mode groups within each core that have a fixed number of 4 modes. These results take the capacity of OAM-based fibre-optic communications links over the 1 Pbps milestone for the first time. They also simultaneously represent the lowest MIMO complexity and the 2nd smallest fibre cladding diameter amongst reported few-mode multicore-fibre(FM-MCF)SDM systems of>1 Pbps capacity. We believe these results represent a major step forward in SDM transmission,as they manifest the significant potentials for further up-scaling the capacity per optical fibre whilst keeping MIMO processing to an ultra-low complexity level and in a modularly expandable fashion. | Junyi Liu Jingxing Zhang Jie Liu Zhenrui Lin Zhenhua Li Zhongzheng Lin Junwei Zhang Cong Huang Shuqi Mo Lei Shen Shuqing Lin Yujie Chen Ran Gao Lei Zhang Xiaobo Lan Xinlun Cai Zhaohui Li Siyuan Yu | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,8: | 1
