2On the Kinematic Characteristics and Dynamic Process of Boundary faults of the Nansha Ultra-crust Layer-Block显示文摘The Nansha ultra-crust layer-block is confined by ultra-crustal boundary faults of distinctive features, bordering the Kangtai-Shuangzi-Xiongnan extensional faulted zone on the north, the Baxian-Baram-Yoca-Cuyo nappe faulted zone on the south, the Wan’an-Natuna strike-slip tensional faulted zone on the west and the Mondoro-Panay strike-slip compressive faulted zone on the east. These faults take the top of the Nansha asthenosphere as their common detachmental surface. The Cenozoic dynamic process of the ultra-crust layer-block can be divided into four stages: K2-E21, during which the northern boundary faults extended, this ultra-crust layer-block was separated from the South China-Indosinian continental margin, the Palaeo-South China Sea subducted southwards and the Sibu accretion wedge was formed; E22-E31, during which the Southwest sub-sea basin extended and orogeny was active due to the collision of the Sibu accretion wedge; E32-N11, during which the central sub-sea basin extended, the MiriLIU Hailing SUN Yan GUO Lingzhi SHU Liangshu YANG Shukang ZHOU Di ZHANG Yixiang 1999Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)1999,73,4:9
3Genomic landscape and genetic manipulation of the black soldier fly Hermetia illucens,a natural waste recycler显示文摘The black soldier fly(BSF),Hermetia illucens(Diptera:Stratiomyidae),is renowned for its bioconversion of organic waste into a sustainable source of animal feed.We report a high-quality genome of 1.1 Gb and a consensus set of 16,770 gene models for this beneficial species.Compared to those of other dipteran species,the BSF genome has undergone a substantial expansion in functional modules related to septic adaptation,including immune system factors,olfactory receptors,and cytochrome P450s.We further profiled midgut transcriptomes and associated microbiomes of BSF larvae fed with representative types of organic waste.We find that the pathways related to digestive system and fighting infection are commonly enriched and that Firmicutes bacteria dominate the microbial community in BSF across all diets.To extend its potential practical applications,we further developed an efficient CRISPR/Cas9-based gene editing approach and implemented this to yield flightless and enhanced feeding capacity phenotypes,both of which could expand BSF production capabilities.Our study provides valuable genomic and technical resources for optimizing BSF lines for industrialization.Shuai Zhan Gangqi Fang Minmin Cai Zongqing Kou Jun Xu Yanghui Cao Liang Bai Yixiang Zhang Yongmao Jiang Xingyu Luo Jian Xu Xia Xu Longyu Zheng Ziniu Yu Hong Yang Zhijian Zhang Sibao Wang Jeffery K.Tomberlin Jibin Zhang Yongping Huang 2020Cell Research2020,30,1:9

5OCEAN BOTTOM SEISMOMETER AND ONSHOREOFFSHORE SEISMIC EXPERIMENT IN NORTHEASTERN SOUTH CHINA SEA显示文摘Three-component Ocean Bottom Seismometers, portable land stations and marine air gun seismic sources were used to carry out an onshore-offshore deep seismic profile in northeastern South China Sea. This profile, orientated in NNW-SSE, was as long as 500 km and perpendicular to the strike of regional tectonics. The offshore data were processed in Taiwan Ocean University using a number of available software and the onshore data were analyzed in South China Sea Institute of Oceanology by new-written programs and public software. Preliminary results show that the seismic data are in good quality and contain rich information of deep structure. 6An experimental and numerical study on the charring rate of timber beams exposed to three-side fire显示文摘To investigate the charring rate of timber beams exposed to three-side fire, a total of fifteen new and used Douglas-Fir timber beams in four groups exposed to three-side fire were experimentally studied, together with the finite element analyses of the temperature distribution in the beam section. The durations of fire exposure were 0 (on a test piece), 10, 15, 20 and 30 min, according to the ISO 834 standard fire curve. The charring depth of each timber beam was calculated by averaging the values at one-third and two-thirds along each cross section to give the charring rate of timber beams. It was found that the timber beam's charring rate reduces as the duration of fire exposure increases and the vertical charring rate is slightly higher than the horizontal one. The areas of beam sections reduce due to charring and the strength and stiffness of the pyrolysis layer near the charring edge decrease owing to the high-temperature. The average horizontal and vertical charring rates are 0.98 and 1.08 mm/min, respectively. To take into account the difference between the test furnace temperature curve and the ISO 834 stand- ard fire curve, some corrections were made for these data to yield the solution for charring rate. With the help of the finite element software ANSYS, the temperature distribution of the wood's cross-section was analyzed. 8Lithospheric thermal-rheological structures of the continental margin in the northern South China Sea显示文摘Thermal structures of three deep seismic profiles in the continental margin in the northern South China Sea are calculated, their 'thermal' lithospheric thicknesses are evaluated based on the basalt dry solidus, and their rheological structures are evaluated with linear frictional failure criterion and power-law creep equation. 'Thermal' lithosphere is about 90 km in thickness in shelf area, and thins toward the slope, lowers to 60-65 km in the lower slope, ocean crust and Xisha Trough. In the mid-west of the studied area, the lithospheric rheological structure in shelf area and Xisha Islands is of four layers: brittle, ductile, brittle and ductile. Because of uprising of heat mantle and thinning of crust and lithosphere in Xisha Trough, the bottom of the upper brittle layer is only buried at 16 km. 9Spatiotemporal characterization and regional contributions of O3 and NO2:An investigation of two years of monitoring data in Henan,China显示文摘To investigate the characteristics of ground level ozone(O3)for Henan Province,the ambient air quality monitoring data of 2015 and 2016 were analyzed.The result showed that the 8 h-max-O3 concentrations displayed a distinct seasonality,where the maximum and minimum values,averaging 140.41,54.19μg/m3,occurred in summer and winter,respectively.There is a significant correlation between meteorological factors and O3 concentration.The Voronoi neighborhood averaging analysis indic ated that O3,temperature,and ultraviolet radiation in Henan province were decreased from northwest to southeast,while relative humidity and precipitation displayed the opposite trend.Besides meteorological factors,the chemical processes play an essential role in ozone formation.Reactions of NO,NO2 and O3 form a closed system,and the partitioning point of the OX-component(O3+NO2)was at 40 and 80μg/m3 for nitrogen oxide(NOx)in winter and summer,respectively,with NO2 dominating at higher NOx pollution and O3 being the m ajor component at lower levels.The relationship between oxidant(OX=O3+NO2)and NOx concentrations were evaluated to understand the regional and local contribution of OX.It showed that high regional contribution occurred in the spring,whereas the highest local contribution lead to the summer peak of O3 observed in Zhengzhou.This present study reveals important environment impacts from the photochemical process and the meteorological conditions in the region with better understanding on the O3 characterization.Shijie Yu Shasha Yin Ruiqin Zhang Lingling Wang Fangcheng Su Yixiang Zhang Jian Yang 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,4:7
10Study on Quantitative Relationship between Surface Wettability and Frictional Coefficient of Liquid Flowing in a Turbulent Horizontal Pipe显示文摘This paper had investigated the effects of surface wettability on the frictional resistance of turbulent horizontal flow for tap water in five pipes made of various materials and four kinds of liquids in a polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) pipe,with the same inner diameter of 14 mm. Pressure drops were measured under different flow rates through an experimental flow loop. The contact angles and adhesion work of liquids in contact with pipe surfaces were determined using a contact angle meter. Based on the dimension and regression analyses, two kinds of modified relationships between the frictional coefficient and the surface wettability were established according to the measured results corresponding to tap water in five pipes and four liquids in PTFE pipe. The experimental results show that the surface wettability has some influence on frictional coefficient of the studied liquids flowing in macroscale pipes, and the frictional coefficient decreases with the increase of the contact angle at the same Reynolds number. Meanwhile the effect of wettability on the hydrophobic surface is greater than that on the hydrophilic one. 11Effects of different carbon sources on the removal of ciprofloxacin and pollutants by activated sludge:Mechanism and biodegradation显示文摘This research investigated the effects of ciprofloxacin(CIP)(0.5,5,and 20 mg/L)on SBR systems under different carbon source conditions.Microbial community abundance and structure were determined by quantitative PCR and high-throughput sequencing,respectively.The biodegradation production of CIP and possible degradation mechanism were also studied.Results showed that CIP had adverse effects on the nutrient removal from wastewater.Compared with sodium acetate,glucose could be more effectively used by microorganisms,thus eliminating the negative effects of CIP.Glucose stimulated the microbial abundance and increased the removal rate of CIP by 18%–24%.The mechanism research indicated that Proteobacteria and Acidobacteria had a high tolerance for CIP.With sodium acetate as a carbon source,the abundance of nitrite-oxidizing bacterial communities decreased under CIP,resulting in the accumulation of nitrite and nitrate.Rhodanobacter and Microbacterium played a major role in nitrification and denitrification when using sodium acetate and glucose as carbon sources.Dyella and Microbacterium played positive roles in the degradation process of CIP and eliminated the negative effect of CIP on SBR,which was consistent with the improved removal efficiency of pollutants.Yixiang Cai Zhiyong Yan Yingjuan Ou Boshang Peng Lihua Zhang Jihai Shao Yiqing Lin Jiachao Zhang 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,1:4
12INTERFERENCE BY NON-HOST PLANT ROOTS AND ROOT EXUDATES IN THE INFECTION PROCESSES OF PHYTOPHTHORA NICOTIANAE显示文摘Crop rotations are widely used because they can significantly reduce the incidence of pests and diseases.The interactions between non-host roots and pathogens may be key in the inhibition of soilborne pathogens in crop rotations.Interactions between fennel(Foeniculum vulgare)roots/root exudates and Phytophthora nicotianae were investigated because of the known allelopathy between fennel and tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum).The effects of the key compounds in the fennel rhizosphere on the mycelial growth and zoospore behavior of P.nicotianae were assessed.The roots of fennel attracted P.nicotianae zoospores and inhibited their motility and the germination of cystospores,with some cystospores rupturing.4-ethylacetophenone,vanillin and N-formylpiperidine were consistently identified in the fennel rhizosphere and were found to interfere with the infection of P.nicotianae,especially vanillin.Hyphae treated with these compounds produced more abnormal branches and accumulated reactive oxygen species.These interspecific interactions between non-host roots and pathogens were found to be an important factor in the inhibition by fennel of infection by P.nicotianae.Yuxin YANG He ZHANG Yuting FANG Ying LI Xinyue MEI Huichuan HUANG Fei DU Shusheng ZHU Min YANG Yixiang LIU 2021Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2021,8,3:3

17LabVIEW-based impedance biosensing system for detection of avian influenza virus显示文摘In order to detect the multiple avian influenza viruses(AIVs)rapidly,specifically and sensitively,a LabVIEW and microelectrode array-based impedance biosensor was developed and demonstrated.A laptop with LabVIEW software was used to generate excitation signals at different frequencies with an audio card and measure the impedance of target viruses through a data acquisition card.The audio card of the laptop was used as a function generator,while a data acquisition card was used for data communication.A virtual instrument was programmed with LabVIEW to provide a platform for impedance measurement,data processing,and control.Six interdigitated microelectrodes were placed at the bottom of six wells on a microplate to form six sensors for different AIVs and controls.Then,AIV specific ligands were immobilized on the microelectrode surface to capture target viruses.To enhance the sensitivity,AIV specific aptamers conjugated gold nanoparticles and thiocyanuric acid were employed to form a network structure and used as an amplifier.Results of the measured impedance were compared with a commercial IM6 impedance analyzer,and the error was less than 5%.The developed biosensor was portable with the sensitivity and specificity for applications to on-site or in-field rapid screening of avian influenza viruses.Zhang Benhua Ronghui Wang Yixiang Wang Yanbin Li 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,4:2

19A Static Magnetic Field Improves Iron Metabolism and Prevents High-Fat-Diet/Streptozocin-Induced Diabetes显示文摘Type 2 diabetes(T2D)is a metabolic disorder with high prevalence and severe complications that has recently been indicated to be treatable by a combined static magnetic field(SMF)and electric field.We systematically compared four types of SMFs and found that a downward SMF of100 mT could effectively reduce the development of hyperglycemia,fatty liver,weight gain,and tissue injury in high-fat-diet(HFD)/streptozocin-induced T2D mice,but not the upward SMF.The downward SMF markedly restored the Bacteroidetes population and reversed the iron complex outer membrane receptor gene reduction in the mice gut microbiota,and reduced iron deposition in the pancreas.SMF also reduced the labile iron and reactive oxygen species level in pancreatic Min6 cells in vitro and prevented palmitate-induced Min6 cell number reduction.Therefore,this simple SMF setting could partially prevent HFD-induced T2D development and ameliorate related symptoms,which could provide a low-cost and non-invasive physical method to prevent and/or treat T2D in the future.Biao Yu Juanjuan Liu Jing Cheng Lei Zhang Chao Song Xiaofei Tian Yixiang Fan Yue Lv Xin Zhang 2021The Innovation2021,2,1:1
20HY5-HDA9 orchestrates the transcription of HsfA2 to modulate salt stress response in Arabidopsis显示文摘Integration of light signaling and diverse abiotic stress responses contribute to plant survival in a changing environment.Some reports have indicated that light signals contribute a plant’s ability to deal with heat,cold,and stress.However,the molecular link between light signaling and the saltresponse pathways remains unclear.We demonstrate here that increasing light intensity elevates the salt stress tolerance of plants.Depletion of HY5,a key component of light signaling,causes Arabidopsis thaliana to become salinity sensitive.Interestingly,the small heat shock protein(sHsp)family genes are upregulated in hy5-215 mutant plants,and HsfA 2 is commonly involved in the regulation of these sH sps.We found that HY5directly binds to the G-box motifs in the HsfA2promoter,with the cooperation of HISTONE DEACETYLASE 9(HDA9),to repress its expression.Furthermore,the accumulation of HDA9 and the interaction between HY5 and HDA9 are significantly enhanced by salt stress.On the contrary,high temperature triggers HY5 and HDA9 degradation,which leads to dissociation of HY5-HDA9from the HsfA2 promoter,thereby reducing salt tolerance.Under salt and heat stress conditions,fine tuning of protein accumulation and an interaction between HY5 and HDA9 regulate HsfA2 expression.This implies that HY5,HDA9,and HsfA2play important roles in the integration of light signaling with salt stress and heat shock response.Jiaheng Yang Xiao Qu Tao Li Yixiang Gao Haonan Du Lanjie Zheng Manchun Ji Paifeng Zhang Yan Zhang Jinxin Hu Liangyu Liu Zefu Lu Zijian Yang Huiyong Zhang Jianping Yang Yongqing Jiao Xu Zheng 2023Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,1:1
