2Self-powered electronic paper with energy supplies and information inputs solely from mechanical motions显示文摘The electronic paper(E-paper)displays features such as flexibility,sunlight visibility,and low power consumption,which makes it ideal for Internet of Things(IoT)applications where the goal is to eliminate bulky power modules.Here,we report a unique self-powered E-paper(SPEP),where information inputs and energy supplies are all converted from mechanical motion by a triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG).The operation of an electrophoretic E-paper is first investigated,identifying the current density as a determinative parameter for driving pigment particle motion and color change.Electrical and optical responses of the E-paper driven by a slidingmode TENG are then found to be consistent with that under a current source mode.All-in-one monochromic and chromatic SPEPs integrated with a flexible transparent TENG are finally demonstrated,and a pixelated SPEP is discussed for future research.The sliding-driven mechanism of SPEP allows for a potential handwriting function,is free of an extra power supply,and promises undoubtedly a wide range of future applications.YIFAN GU TINGTING HOU PENG CHEN JINXIN CAO CHONGXIANG PAN WEIGUO HU BO-RU YANG XIONG PU AND ZHONG LIN WANG 2020Photonics Research2020,8,9:2
3Decomposing and mapping different scales of land subsidence over Shanghai with X-and C-Band SAR data stacks显示文摘Land subsidence can be observed with time-series of Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar(InSAR)data.However,existing approaches only reveal subsidence signals that are multi-scale mixed,which is not conducive to the systematic analysis of subsidence of different mechanisms.A deformation signal decomposition(DSD)method based on spectral analysis is used to decompose the deformation extracted by time-series InSAR into three classes of deformation signals.They refer to large-scale deformation related to geological settings,medium-scale deformation caused more by group excavation,and small-scale deformation along linear infrastructures.TerraSAR-X datasets for Shanghai spanning April 2013 to September 2020,and Sentinel-1A datasets spanning January 2016 to September 2020 are used in this study.The results were cross-verified between the TerraSAR-X and Sentinel-1A datasets,and validated against levelling measurements.Subsidence signals caused by different mechanisms were automatically decomposed,which facilitates a systematic analysis for targeted diagnosis of land subsidence signals.A detailed analysis was conducted jointly at three scales of surface displacement,geological conditions,major construction activities,and subsidence mechanisms.It indicated that construction activities were the leading cause of land subsidence,and suggests that local authorities that wish to mitigate surface subsidence may benefit from primarily considering this process.Ru Wang Mengshi Yang Tianliang Yang Jinxin Lin Mingsheng Liao 2022International Journal of Digital Earth2022,15,1:1

5Lanthanum doped octacalcium phosphate/polylactic acid scaffold fabricated by 3D printing for bone tissue engineering显示文摘Lanthanum(La)has tremendous potential in the treatment and prevention of bone diseases especially osteoporosis and metabolic disorders.However,controlling its distribution and keeping the release of La^(3+)ions sustained and steady in the body is still a big challenge.In this study,we prepared La-OCP powders via co-precipitation method,and further prepared La-OCP/PLA porous scaffolds by 3 D printing.La^(3+)was successfully introduced into the OCP crystal structure and substituted Ca^(2+)at the Ca-5 and Ca-8 sites.In particular,some La^(3+)ions were deposited on the crystal surface in the form of nanoparticles.Both octacalcium phosphate(OCP,Ca_(8)H_(2)(PO_(4))_6·5 H_(2)O)crystals and nanoparticles played as the carriers for La^(3+)ions.The La-OCP/PLA scaffolds displayed obvious mineralization effects and sustained release of La^(3+).The scaffolds contained a uniform structure with rough micro surface topography which acted as a suitable pathway for BMSCs cells to adhere,grow and proliferation.At a certain La^(3+)concentration,the extracts from La-OCP/PLA scaffolds increased the expression of osteogenesis-related genes,thus promoting the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs.Moreover,the extracts regulated the immune responses.The experiment in vivo proved that La-OCP/PLA porous scaffolds were safe and could enhance bone defect regeneration in vivo.These findings suggest that 3 D printed La-OCP/PLA porous scaffolds have promising potentials in bone tissue engineering.Zeya Xu Bin Lin Chaoqian Zhao Yanjin Lu Tingting Huang Yan Chen Jungang Li Rongcan Wu Wenge Liu Jinxin Lin 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,23:1
6Giant nonlinear Hall effect in twisted bilayer WSe_(2)显示文摘The recently discovered nonlinear Hall effect(NHE)in a few non-interacting systems provides a novel mechanism for generating second-harmonic electrical Hall signals under time-reversal-symmetric conditions.Here,we introduce a new approach to engineering an NHE by using twisted moiréstructures.We found that the twisted WSe_(2)bilayer exhibited an NHE when the Fermi level was tuned to the moiréflat bands.When the first moiréband was half-filled,the nonlinear Hall signal exhibited a sharp peak with a generation efficiency that was at least two orders of magnitude greater than those obtained in previous experiments.We discuss the possible origins of the diverging generation efficiency in twisted WSe_(2)based on resistivity measurements,such as moiré-interface-induced correlation effects and mass-diverging-type continuous Mot transition.This study demonstrates not only how interaction effects can combine with Berry curvature dipoles to produce novel quantum phenomena,but also the potential of NHE measurements as a new tool for studying quantum criticality.Meizhen Huang Zefei Wu Jinxin Hu Xiangbin Cai En Li Liheng An Xuemeng Feng Ziqing Ye Nian Lin Kam Tuen Law Ning Wang 2023National Science Review2023,10,4:0
7Defect Engineering of Disordered Carbon Anodes with Ultra-High Heteroatom Doping Through a Supermolecule-Mediated Strategy for Potassium-Ion Hybrid Capacitors显示文摘Amorphous carbons are promising anodes for high-rate potassium-ion batteries.Most low-temperature annealed amorphous carbons display unsatisfactory capacities.Heteroatom-induced defect engineering of amorphous carbons could enhance their reversible capacities.Nevertheless,most lignocellulose biomasses lack heteroatoms,making it a challenge to design highly heteroatom-doped carbons(>10 at%).Herein,we report a new preparation strategy for amorphous carbon anodes.Nitrogen/sulfur co-doped lignin-derived porous carbons(NSLPC)with ultra-high nitrogen doping levels(21.6 at%of N and 0.8 at%of S)from renewable lignin biomacromolecule precursors were prepared through a supramolecule-mediated pyrolysis strategy.This supermolecule/lignin composite decomposes forming a covalently bonded graphitic carbon/amorphous carbon intermediate product,which induces the formation of high heteroatom doping in the obtained NSLPC.This unique pyrolysis chemistry and high heteroatom doping of NSLPC enable abundant defective active sites for the adsorption of K+and improved kinetics.The NSLPC anode delivered a high reversible capacity of 419 mAh g^(-1)and superior cycling stability(capacity retention of 96.6%at 1 A g^(-1)for 1000 cycles).Potassiumion hybrid capacitors assembled by NSLPC anode exhibited excellent cycling stability(91%capacity retention for 2000 cycles)and a high energy density of 71 Wh kg^(-1)at a power density of 92 W kg^(-1).Lei Zhao Shirong Sun Jinxin Lin Lei Zhong Liheng Chen Jing Guo Jian Yin Husam N.Alshareef Xueqing Qiu Wenli Zhang 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,3:0
8Accessing the syndemic of COVID-19 and malaria in tervention in Africa显示文摘Background:The pandemic of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has caused substantial disruptions to health services in the low and middle-income countries with a high burden of other diseases,such as malaria in sub-Saharan Africa.The aim of this study is to assess the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on malaria transmission potential in malaria-endemic countries in Africa.Methods:We present a data-driven method to quantify the extent to which the COVID-19 pandemic,as well as various non-pharmaceutical interventions(NPIs),could lead to the change of malaria transmission potential in 2020.First,we adopt a particle Markov Chain Monte Carlo method to estimate epidemiological parameters in each country by fitting the time series of the cumulative number of reported COVID-19 cases.Then,we simulate the epidemic dynamics of COVID-19 under two groups of NPIs:(1)contact restriction and social distanci ng,and(2)early ide ratification and isolation of cases.Based on the simulated epidemic curves,we quantify the impact of COVID-19 epidemic and NPIs on the distribution of insecticide-treated nets(ITNs).Finally,by treating the total number of ITNs available in each country in 2020,we evaluate the negative effects of COVID-19 pandemic on malaria transmission potential based on the notion of vectorial capacity.Results:We con duct case studies in four malaria-endemic coun tries,Ethiopia,Nigeria,Tanza nia,and Zambia,in Africa.The epidemiological parameters(i.e.;the basic reproduction number R°and the duration of infection D1)of COVID-19 in each country are estimated as follows:Ethiopia(Rq=1.57,D1=5.32),Nigeria(Ro=2.18,D1=6.58),Tanzania(Ro=2.47,D1=6.01),and Zambia(R0=2.12,D1=6.96).Based on the estimated epidemiological parameters,the epidemic curves simulated under various NPIs indicated that the earlier the interventions are implemented,the better the epidemic is controlled.Moreover,the effect of combined NPIs is better than contact restriction and social di st a ncing only.By treating the total number of ITNs available in each country in 2020 as a baseline,our results show that even with stringent NPIs,malaria transmission potential will remain higher than expected in the second half of 2020.Conclusions:By quantifying the impact of various NPI response to the COVID-19 pandemic on malaria transmission potential,this study provides a way tojointly address the syndemic between COVID-19 and malaria in malariaendemic countries in Africa.The results suggest that the early intervention of COVID-19 can effectively reduce the scale of the epidemic and mitigate its impact on malaria transmission potential.Benyun Shi Jinxin Zheng Shang Xia Shan Lin Xinyi Wang Yang Liu Xiao-Nong Zhou Jiming Liu 2021Infectious Diseases of Poverty2021,10,1:0

11Exploring the abundance and influencing factors of antimicrobial resistance genes in manure plasmidome from swine farms显示文摘Plasmids play a critical role in the dissemination of antimicrobial resistance genes(ARGs),however,a systematical understanding of ARGs originated from plasmids in swine production is currently lacking.Herein,quantitative polymerase chain reaction was applied to determine the prevalence of ten ARGs and the class1 integron gene intI1 of plasmid source in swinemanure from 44 farms in Sichuan,Hubei and Hebei provinces,China.All assayed ARGs were observed in plasmid DNA samples,and the average absolute abundance of aac(6’)-Ib-cr,blaNDM,blaCTX-M,optrA,ermB,floR,mcr-1,qnrS,tetM,sul1 and intI1 were 7.09,2.90,4.67,6.62,7.55,7.14,4.08,4.85,7.16,7.11 and 8.07 of 10 log copies/gram,respectively.IntI1 showed a high correlation(r>0.8,P<0.01)with the abundance of aac(6’)-Ib-cr and sul1 in swine manure.Moreover,the farm scale(i.e.,herd population)and geographical location were not found to be critical factors influencing the absolute abundance of ARGs of plasmid DNA in swine farms.However,the concentrations of florfenicol,Cu,Zn,Fe,total phosphorus(TP)and total potassium(TK)demonstrated a significant correlation with the abundance of several ARGs.Particularly,Cu and Zn had high correlations with optrA and blaCTX-M,respectively.Our results demonstrated that antibiotics,heavy metals and environmental nutrients are likely jointly contributing to the long-term persistence of ARGs in swine production.This study provides insights into the abundance and influencing factors of ARGs from swine manure,which is of significance for assessing and reducing the public health risks in livestock production.Zunfang Tu Junrui Shui Jinxin Liu Hongmei Tuo Haoyu Zhang Cong Lin Jingyi Feng Yuxuan Feng Wen Su Anyun Zhang 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,2:0
12Tuning osteoporotic macrophage responses to favour regeneration by Cu-bearing titanium alloy in Porphyromonas gingivalis lipopolysaccharide-induced microenvironments显示文摘Guided bone regeneration in inflammatory microenvironments of osteoporotic patients with large alve-olar bone defects remains a great challenge.Macrophages are necessary for alveolar bone regeneration via their polarization and paracrine actions.Our previous studies showed that Cu-bearing Ti6AI4V alloys are capable of regulating macrophage responses.When considering the complexity of oral microenvir-onments,the influences of Cu-bearing Ti6AI4V alloys on osteoporotic macrophages in infectious microenvironments are worthy of further investigations.In this study,we fabricated Ti6AI4V-Cu alloy by selective laser melting technology and used Porphyromonas gingivalis lipopolysaccharide(P.g-LPS)to imitate oral pathogenic bacterial infections.Then,we evaluated the impacts of T6AI4V-Cu on osteoporotic macrophages in infectious microenvironments.Our results indicated that Ti6AI4V-Cu not only inhibited the P.g-LPS-induced M1 polarization and pro-inflammatory cytokine production of osteoporotic macrophages but also shifted polarization towards the pro-regenerative M2 phenotype and remarkably promoted antinflammatory cytokine release.In addition,T6AI4V-Cu effectively promoted the actity of COMMD1 to potentially repress NF-κB-mediated transcription.It is concluded that the Cubearing Ti6AI4V alloy results in ameliorated osteoporotic macrophage responses to create a favourable microenvironment under infectious conditions,which holds promise to develop a GBR-barrier membrane for alveolar bone regeneration of osteoporosis patients.Xiongcheng Xu Yanjin Lu Ling Zhou Mengjiao He Jin Zhuo Quan Zhong Kai Luo Jinxin Lin 2021Regenerative Biomaterials2021,8,1:0

15Tuning the Corrosion Resistance,Antibacterial Activity,and Cytocompatibility by Constructing Grooves on the Surface of Ti6Al4V3Cu Alloy显示文摘Ti6Al4V3Cu alloy is a promising biomaterial for combating implant-related infection.However,the antibacterial property of Ti6Al4V3Cu is expected to be enhanced due to the low content of Cu element in titanium.To address this issue,the antibacterial property of Ti6Al4V3Cu was tailored by the grooves with different groove widths(30μm,60μm,and 90μm)that were constructed on the surface of the Ti6Al4V3Cu by selective laser melting.The effect of grooves on corrosion resistance,antibacterial property,and cytocompatibility was investigated.The electrochemical tests showed that the corrosion resistance decreased with increasing groove width.The antibacterial tests indicated that the groove with a width of 30μm and 90μm groups showed better antibacterial activity against S.aureus(>90%)compared with the groove with a width of 60μm.The in vitro study suggested that all samples with different grooves were found to exhibit good cytocompatibility with osteoblast cells.It is considered that creating grooves on Ti6Al4V3Cu by selective laser melting is a promising strategy to enhance the antibacterial activity without sacrificing cytocompatibility.Minghui Zhou Hui Sun Yanming Gan Cheng Ji Yan Chen Yanjin Lu Jinxin Lin Qiang Wang 2023Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2023,36,12:0

17Doping Gd^(3+)Ion in PDA-PHBV Coating on Ti6Al4V Alloy for Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Proliferation of Human Gingival Fibroblasts and Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells显示文摘In this study,we fabricated poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-3-hydroxyvalerate)(PHBV)coatings doped with Gd^(3+)(1,5,and 10×10^(−4) mol/L)on Ti6Al4V alloy for the first time to promote soft tissue sealing around dental implants.The corrosion resistance of Gd^(3+)-modified PHBV-coated Ti6Al4V was studied by electrochemical and immersion tests,respectively,whereas CCK-8 and RT-PCR evaluated the biocompatibility to human gingival fibroblasts(HGFs)and human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs).It was found that the Gd^(3+)-modified PHBV coating could enhance the corrosion resistance of Ti6Al4V.In vitro cell tests showed that PHBV coatings with and without Gd^(3+) addition could promote adhesion and proliferation of HGFs and HUVECs,showing a Gd^(3+) content-dependent manner.Moreover,it was found that the PDA-PHBV@1Gd showed the best proliferation to HGFs by up-regulating gene expressions of VINCULIN,ITGB1,and ITGA3,whereas the best response to HUVECs with the highest gene expression of eNOS and HIF-1αgenes was found in the PDA-PHBV@5Gd-coated group.Sijie Qin Xiongcheng Xu Yanjin Lu Liu Li Tingting Huang Jinxin Lin 2022Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2022,35,5:0
