1Identification and differentiation of Panax ginseng,Panax quinquefolium, and Panax notoginseng by monitoring multiple diagnostic chemical markers显示文摘To differentiate traditional Chinese medicines(TCM) derived from congeneric species in TCM compound preparations is usually challenging. The roots of Panax ginseng(PG), Panax quinquefolium(PQ) and Panax notoginseng(PN) are used as popular TCM. They contain similar triterpenoid saponins(ginsenosides) as the major bioactive constituents. Thus far, only a few chemical markers have been discovered to differentiate these three species. Herein we present a multiple marker detection approach to effectively differentiate the three Panax species, and to identify them in compound preparations. Firstly, 85 batches of crude drug samples(including 32 PG, 30 PQ, and 23 PN) were analyzed by monitoring 40 major ginsenosides in the extracted ion chromatograms(EICs) using a validated LC–MS fingerprinting method. Secondly, the samples were clustered into different groups by pattern recognition chemometric approaches using PLS-DA and OPLS-DA models, and17 diagnostic chemical markers were discovered. Aside from the previously known Rf and p-F11, ginsenoside Rs1 could be a new marker to differentiate PG from PQ. 2Security value based expansion planning of power system with integration of large-scale wind power显示文摘Concerning the integration of large-scale wind power,an integrated model of generation and transmission expansion planning is proposed based on the assessment of the value of steady state and dynamic security.In the assessment of security value,the unit commitment simulation based on the predicted hourly load and wind power output data in the planning horizon is used to evaluate the costs of preventive control,emergency control and social losses due to the uncertainty of load and wind power.The cost of preventive control consists of the fuel cost of power generation,the environmental cost and the load shedding cost.This not only provides a systematic method of security assessment of power system expansion planning schemes,but also broadens the perspective of power system planning from the technology and economic assessment to the measure of the whole social value.In the assessment process,the preventive control and emergency control of cascading failures are also presented,which provides a convincing tool for cascading failure analysis of planning schemes and makes the security assessment more comprehensive and reasonable.The proposed model and method have been demonstrated by the assessment of two power system planning schemes on the New England 10-genarator 39-bus System.The importance of considering the value of security and simulating hourly system operation for the planning horizon,in expansion planning of power system with integration of large-scale wind power,has been confirmed.YU YIXin WANG JingRan LV XiaoYang 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,7:11
3Geologic investigation and mapping of the Sinus Iridum quadrangle from Clementine, SELENE, and Chang’e-1 data显示文摘The objectives of lunar satellite remote sensing are to study lunar surface characteristics, inner structure, and its evolution history. The contents of TiO 2 and FeO are assessed from Clementine UV/VIS data for Sinus Iridum. The geologic stratigraphic units and crates are interpreted visually based on SELENE Terrain Camera (TC) images and the spatial resolution of which is up to 10 m. And the geologic ages of different stratigraphic units are calculated by the crater size-frequency distributions measurements. The gravity anomaly is generated from SELENE gravity model (SGM90d) to show its difference from Mare Imbrium. Furthermore, the thickness of lunar regolith is also derived from microwave radiometer data of Chang’e-1 satellite. Integrating these results, it shows that the Sinus Iridum is different from the Mare Imbrium in inner structure and surface sedimentation. And its history of subsidence, deposition, volcanism, and impact is described. 4Effects of Nitrogen Rate and Split Application Ratio on Nitrogen Use and Soil Nitrogen Balance in Cotton Fields显示文摘The Yellow River valley is one of the three largest cotton production areas in China.An experiment was performed in cotton fields of Anyang,China from 2013 to 2014 to investigate the effects of nitrogen(N) application rate and the ratio between basal and topdressing N fertilizer on N balance in a soil-plant system,N use efficiency,and cotton yield.Five N application rates as treatments were applied with the same split application ratio.Half of the N(50% basal fertilizer) was applied at pre-planting and the other half(50% topdressing fertilizer) at the initial flowering stage.These treatments were:zero N(N0,control),90 kg N ha^(-1)(N90(5/5)),180 kg N ha^(-1)(N180(5/5)),270 kg N ha^(-1)(N270(5/5),a reduced N rate),and 360 kg N ha^(-1)(N360(5/5),a conventional N rate).Additional 2 split application ratios as treatments were applied with the same N rate of 270 kg N ha^(-1).The split application ratios between basal N and topdressing N were 30%:70%(N270(3/7)) and 70%:30%(N270(7/3)).Results demonstrated that soil NH_4-N content in the 0–60 cm layer and NO3-N content in the 0–20 cm layer increased with increased N rate at the squaring and boll-opening stages and then decreased to lower levels at the initial flowering and harvest stages.Soil NO_3-N content in the 20–60 cm layer after the initial flowering stage increased with the increase of topdressing N rate.Soil apparent N surplus varied at different growth stages,while the soil apparent N surplus over the entire growth period exhibited a positive relationship at N rates over 180 kg ha^(-1).Seed cotton yield of N270(3/7) was the highest of all treatments.Plant N uptake,N agronomic efficiency,and apparent N recovery efficiency of N270(3/7) were significantly higher than those of N270(5/5) and N270(7/3) in both growing seasons.These suggest both economic and ecological benefits in cotton production in the Yellow River valley could be created,by appropriately reducing total N application rate and increasing the ratio of topdressing to basal N fertilizer at the initial flowering stage.LI Pengcheng DONG Helin LIU Aizhong LIU Jingran SUN Miao LI Yabing LIU Shaodong ZHAO Xinhua MAO Shuchun 2017Pedosphere2017,27,4:7
5Arbitrary focusing lens by holographic metasurface显示文摘In this paper, an ultrathin metalens has been proposed based on a holographic metasurface that consists of elongated apertures in 40 nm gold film, which exhibit intriguing properties such as on-and off-axis focusing and also can concentrate light into multiple, discrete spots for circularly polarized incident lights. First, the spatial transmission phase distributions of the designed metalens with arbitrary focusing can be obtained by computergenerated holography. Then, the discrete phase distributions can be continuously encoded by subwavelength nanoapertures with spatially varying orientations in gold film. The simulation results show that our designed metalens can work efficiently for different types of focusing. 6Growth of alumina oxide nanowires in an aluminum anodization process显示文摘Alumina oxide nanowires were grown via a two-step anodization of aluminum foil. A growth mechanism is proposed for these nanowires which is different from that of those formed using chemical etching methods. 7Ultra-thin,planar,broadband,dual-polarity plasmonic metalens显示文摘An ultrathin,planar,broadband metalens composed of metal rectangular split-ring resonators(MRSRRs) has been designed,which shows dual-polarity characteristics for different types of circularly polarized(CP) light incidence.The designed metalens can be considered as the focusing lens and the diverging lens under left-handed CP and right-handed CP light incidence,respectively.The phase discontinuity of the cross-polarized transmission light is produced by optical-axis rotation through modulating two arms’ lengths of the MRSRR.The MRSRR metalens possesses a wavelength-controllable focal length and a relatively larger chromatic aberration compared with the conventional lenses.And the focal length changes from 9 to 7 μm with incident wavelength from 740 to 950 nm.The dual-polarity flat metalens opens a door for new applications of phase discontinuity devices,and it will promote the fabricating capability of on-chip or fiber-embedded optical devices.Wei Wang Zhongyi Guo Rongzhen Li Jingran Zhang Yi Liu Xinshun Wang and Shiliang Qu 2015Photonics Research2015,3,3:4
8Accurate assessment of antibiotic susceptibility and screening resistant strains of a bacterial population by linear gradient plate显示文摘The dynamics of a bacterial population exposed to theminimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of an antibiotic is an important issue in pharmacological research.Therefore,a novel antibiotic susceptibility test is urgently needed that can both precisely determine the MIC and accurately select antibiotic-resistant strains from clinical bacterial populations.For this purpose,we developed a method based on Fick's laws of diffusion using agar plates containing a linear gradient of antibiotic.The gradient plate contained two layers.The bottom layer consisted of 15 mL agar containing the appropriate concentration of enrofloxacin and allowed to harden in the form of a wedge with the plate slanted such that the entire bottom was just covered.The upper layer consisted of 15 mL plain nutrient agar added with the plate held in the horizontal position.After allowing vertical diffusion of the drug from the bottom agar layer for 12 h,the enrofloxacin concentration was diluted in proportion to the ratio of the agar layer thicknesses.The uniform linear concentration gradient was verified by measuring the enrofloxacin concentration on the agar surface.When heavy bacterial suspensions were spread on the agar surface and incubated for more than 12 h,only resistant cells were able to form colonies beyond the boundary of confluent growth of susceptible cells.In this way,the true MIC of enrofloxacin was determined.The MICs obtained using this linear gradient plate were consistent with those obtained using conventional antibiotic susceptibility tests.Discrete colonies were then spread onto a gradient plate with higher antibiotic concentrations;the boundary line increased significantly,and gene mutations conferring resistance were identified.This new method enables the rapid identification of resistant strains in the bacterial population.Use of the linear gradient plate can easily identify the precise MIC and reveal the dynamic differentiation of bacteria near the MIC.This method allows the study of genetic and physiological characteristics of individual strains,and may be useful for early warning of antibiotic resistance that may occur after use of certain antimicrobial agents,and guide clinical treatment.LIU YuQing LI JingRan DU JiaFa HU Ming BAI Hua QI Jing GAO Chao WEI TianTian SU Hong JIN JianLing GAO PeiJi 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,10:4
9Relationship of Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases to Meteorological Conditions and Forecast Method in Nanjing City显示文摘[Objective]The study aimed to discuss the relationship of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases to meteorological conditions and forecast method in Nanjing City.[Method]Based on daily cases of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases from a hospital in Nanjing City as well as daily meteorological data from Nanjing Meteorological Station from January 2003 to July 2008,the monthly and seasonal variations in quantity of patients suffering from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in Nanjing City were analyzed firstly,and then the relationship between meteorological elements and incidence of the diseases was discussed,finally the forecast model for the incidence of the diseases was established using the stepwise regression method.[Result]Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in Nanjing City happened all the year round,and the incidence was high in the seasonal transition phase from autumn to winter.Daily incidence of the diseases in Nanjing City correlated negatively with daily maximum,minimum and average vapor pressure,daily minimum relative humidity and so forth,but their incidence had positive correlations with diurnal range of daily temperature,daily maximum,minimum and average pressure.Daily average number of patients suffering from the diseases obviously correlated with daily average temperature,daily maximum vapor pressure and daily average relative humidity.[Conclusion]The research could provide scientific references for the prevention and forecast of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in future.Yan Sun Jingran Wang Peishu Zong 2013Meteorological and Environmental Research2013,4,8:2
10Spectrum Allocation and Performance Analysis for Backhauling of UAV Assisted Cellular Network显示文摘To reinforce the coverage and QoS(quality of service) of on-ground cellular communication system, unmanned aerial vehicles which are carrying small cells are deployed in some emergency and disaster areas. Although ASCs(aerial small cells) can provide a higher probability of LoS(line-of-sight) transmission, the wireless backhaul link will bring extra interference to the whole system if not well designed. Therefore, in this paper, we study the backhaul scheme for UAV-assist cellular network. We first analyze the interference environments of UAV-assist cellular network considering the IBOG(In-Band to On-Ground), OBOG(Out-of-Band to On-Ground) and IBTU(In-Band to Tethered-UAV) backhauling mode, and give the descriptions of the performance metrics for each mode. Then, the considered problem is formulated as an optimization of achievable rate. We derive the optimal solutions for the involved three backhauling modes for ASCs respectively, and closed-form optimal value for each mode is acquired with proof. We also give a pseudo-code form of our proposed optimal access/backhaul spectrum allocation algorithm. 16Molecular Identification of Salvia miltiorrhiza Bge. and Its Adulterants Based on ITS2 Sequences显示文摘[Objectives]The study was conducted to investigate the molecular identification of Salvia miltiorrhiza Bge. and its adulterants by DNA barcoding andspecific primer PCR. [Methods]With ITS2 sequenceas DNA barcode,the materials were amplified by PCR and sequenced,and the NJ phylogenetic tree was constructed. The secondary structure of ITS2 was predicted by database and its website established by Koetschan et al.,and the self-designed primers were used to carry out specific primer PCR identification. [Results]ITS2 sequence length was around 470 bp. The results of cluster analysis showed that S. miltiorrhiza Bge. and its adulterants were clustered on different branches and showed monophyly. The comparison of secondary structure showed that S. miltiorrhiza Bge. had little differences from S. przewalskii,while there were significant differences from A. lappa in the number,size and location of stem-loop and the rotation angle of the spiral arm from the central ring. The specific primers could distinguish the S. miltiorrhiza Bge. and its counterfeits by PCR technique.
