| 1 | Increased levels of homocysteine in patients with ulcerative colitis显示文摘AIM: To investigate serum levels of homocysteine (Hcys) and the risk that altered levels carry for thrombosis development in ulcerative colitis (UC) patients. METHODS: 55 UC patients and 45 healthy adults were included. Hcys, vitamin B12 and folic acid levels were measured in both groups. Clinical history and thrombo- embolic events were investigated. RESULTS: The average Hcys level in the UC patients was 13.3 ± 1.93 μmmol/L (range 4.60-87) and was higher than the average Hcys level of the control group which was 11.2 ± 3.58 μmmol/L (range 4.00-20.8) (P < 0.001). Vitamin B12 and folic acid average values were also lower in the UC group (P < 0.001). Whenmultivariate regression analysis was performed, it was seen that folic acid deficiency was the only risk factor for hyperhomocysteinemia. Frequencies of thromboembolic complications were not statistically significantly different in UC and control groups. When those with and without a thrombosis history in the UC group were compared according to Hcys levels, it was seen that there were no statistically significant differences. A negative linear relationship was found between folic acid levels and Hcys. | 8 | Effect of vasoactive intestinal peptide on the wound healing of alkali-burned corneas显示文摘AIM: To study the effect of vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP) on wound healing in experimental alkali burns of the cornea.· METHODS: Twenty-seven albino rabbits, weighing3.2 ±0.75 kg were used. Alkali burns were induced on corneas by applying 10 mm Whatman paper No:50soaked in 1 mol/L Na OH. They have further classified into 5 groups as follows: 1) control group given no treatment(n =5); 2) VIP given subconjunctivally(n =6); 3)VIP injected into anterior chamber(n =6); 4) Na Cl 0.9%given subconjunctivally(n =5); 5) Na Cl 0.9% given into the anterior chamber(n =5). All treatment protocols except control group were followed by topical eye drops composed of VIP at two hourly intervals for one week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.·RESULTS: VIP treated groups of rabbits with alkali burns were found to have better wound healing findings histo-pathologically when compared to those of control group who have received no treatment on day 30. No differences were observed between groups in respect to degree of polymorphonuclear leukocytes(PMNL) infiltration and degree of loss of amorphous substrate on day 15.However, PMNL infiltration and degree of loss of amorphous substrate were lower in Groups 2 and 3 when compared to that of control group on day 30(P <0.05).·CONCLUSION: We have shown that VIP has positive effects on alkali induced corneal burns. VIP may inhibit PMNL migration to cornea through an immunomodulatory effect. | 13 | 糖尿病患者成功控制高血糖后中央角膜厚度的变化(英文)显示文摘目的:研究糖尿病患者中央角膜厚度与血糖浓度(糖化血红蛋白,HbA1c)的关系。方法:对52例HbA1c>7%的2型糖尿病患者行单中心、前瞻性临床试验。结果显示,平均随访6mo后,血糖浓度控制效果不佳。记录性别、病程,采用超声波测厚仪测量中央角膜厚度,取三次测量的平均值。患者在内分泌科门诊进行治疗。当HbA1c≤7%时,再次记录中央角膜厚度,并比较治疗前后的HbA1c水平和中央角膜厚度。结果:治疗前后平均中央角膜厚度分别为552.30±29.26μm和542.36±27.20μm,平均HbA1c水平分别为(9.36±1.79)%和(6.45±0.70)%,差异显著(P=0.0001,配对t检验)。结论:中央角膜厚度随HbA1c水平的降低(血糖控制良好)而显著下降,但高血糖和正常血糖患者中央角膜厚度平均值均在正常范围内。因此,在对糖尿病患者进行眼部检查时应注意HbA1c。 | Yesim Altay Ayse Burcu Firdevs Ornek | 2014 | 国际眼科杂志2014，14，4： | 1 |

| 19 | Diagnosis and management of pediatric adrenal insufficiency显示文摘Background:Adrenal insufficiency(AI)is a wellknown cause of potentially life-threatening disorders.Defects at each level of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis can impair adrenal function,leading to varying degrees of glucocorticoid(GC)deficiency.Iatrogenic AI induced by exogenous GCs is the most common cause of AI.The criteria for the diagnosis and management of iatrogenic AI,neonatal AI,and critical illness-related corticosteroid insuffi ciency(CIRCI)are not clear.Data sources:We reviewed the recent original publications and classical data from the literature,as well as the clinical,diagnostic and management strategies of pediatric AI.Results:Practical points in the diagnosis and management of AI with an emphasis on iatrogenic AI,neonatal AI,and CIRCI are provided.Given the lack of sensitive and practical biochemical tests for diagnosis of subtle AI,GC treatment has to be tailored to highly suggestive clinical symptoms and signs.Treatment of adrenal crisis is well standardized and patients almost invariably respond well to therapy.It is mainly the delay in treatment that is responsible for mortality in adrenal crisis.Conclusion:Education of patients and health care professionals is mandatory for timely interventions for patients with adrenal crisis. | Ahmet Ucar Firdevs Bas Nurcin Saka | 2016 | World Journal of Pediatrics2016，12，3： | 0 |
