1Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 2The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 3STUDY ON THE OVERALL PRESSURE BALANCE OF A DOWNFLOW CIRCULATING FLUIDIZED BED SYSTEM显示文摘A pressure balance model for a circulating fluidized bed unit that incorporates a downer has been pro- posed. The model predictions were validated with the experimental data obtained from a special cold-model circulating fluidized bed. Comparison of the operation stability between a CFB downer and a CFB riser has been carried out. Only one critical gas velocity exists in the CFB-riser for a given riser solids flux, while there can be many critical gas velocities for the operation of a CFB downer. 4High-performance polarization management devices based on thin-film lithium niobate显示文摘High-speed polarization management is highly desirable for many applications,such as remote sensing,telecommunication,and medical diagnosis.However,most of the approaches for polarization management rely on bulky optical components that are slow to respond,cumbersome to use,and sometimes with high drive voltages.Here,we overcome these limitations by harnessing photonic integrated circuits based on thin-film lithium niobate platform.We successfully realize a portfolio of thin-film lithium niobate devices for essential polarization management functionalities,including arbitrary polarization generation,fast polarization measurement,polarization scrambling,and automatic polarization control.The present devices feature ultra-fast control speeds,low drive voltages,low optical losses and compact footprints.Using these devices,we achieve high fidelity polarization generation with a polarization extinction ratio up to 41.9 dB and fast polarization scrambling with a scrambling rate up to 65 Mrad s−1,both of which are best results in integrated optics.We also demonstrate the endless polarization state tracking operation in our devices.The demonstrated devices unlock a drastically new level of performance and scales in polarization management devices,leading to a paradigm shift in polarization management.Zhongjin Lin Yanmei Lin Hao Li Mengyue Xu Mingbo He Wei Ke Heyun Tan Ya Han Zhaohui Li Dawei Wang X.Steve Yao Songnian Fu Siyuan Yu Xinlun Cai 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,5:3
5Overview to the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) Satellite显示文摘As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. 6Photothermal and pH dual-responsive self-healing coating for smart corrosion protection显示文摘A novel self-healing coating with photothermal and pH dual-responsive properties has been designed to protect carbon steel against corrosion by loading the stimuli-responsive microcapsules into a shape memory epoxy coating. The sandwich-like microcapsules were based on reduced graphene oxide/mesoporous silica(r GO@MS) assembled with a p H-responsive poly(N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate)(PDMAEMA) layer, and were loaded with benzotriazole(BTA) inhibitors(abbreviated as rGO@MS-P-BTA). Under near-infrared(NIR) light irradiation, the prominent photothermal effect of rGO could not only elevate the coating temperature to activate the shape memory effect and close the coating scratch, but also facilitate the release of corrosion inhibitors to suppress the corrosion activity. Moreover,the PDMAEMA as a p H-driven “gatekeeper” realized the controlled release of BTA from microcapsules at acid conditions. The surface morphology analysis, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS), and scanning electrochemical microscopy(SECM) were performed to evaluate the self-healing performance of the composite coatings. 8Factors Associated with SARS-CoV-2 Repeat Positivity—Beijing,China,June–September 2020显示文摘Introduction:Repeat positive severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)following COVID-19 initial viral clearance(repositivity)poses a public health management challenge.The objective was to determine factors associated with neutralizing antibody(Nab)level and re-positivity among patients infected with a single strain SARS-CoV-2.Methods:During a single strain SARS-CoV-2 cluster in Beijing,China,longitudinal individual clinical,virological,and immunological data were collected from 368 infections from June 13 to September 22,2020.Factors associated with Nab level and re-positivity were analyzed using generalized estimating equations.Results:A total of 353(96%)SARS-CoV-2 infections had demographic,clinical,and laboratory data available.Among the 353 infections,55(15.5%)were re-positive,and blood draws were taken from 346 individuals(98.0%)during hospitalization and/or during the follow-up period.Symptoms were milder for the second-time admission for the re-positives,although 36.4%of re-positives presented with radiographic appearance of pneumonia manifestation.Compared to non-re-positive patients,NAb titers were lower among re-positives;NAb was positively associated with clinical severity.Samples from the lower respiratory tract manifested higher viral load than that from the upper respiratory tract.Multivariable analysis showed re-positivity was positively associated with being female[odd ratio(OR)=1.7,95%confidence interval(CI)1.1–2.8]and being aged<18 years(OR=5.2,95%CI 1.5–18.1);having initially asymptomatic infection(OR=13.7,95%CI 1.6–116.3);and negatively associated with a higher NAb level(OR=0.9,95%CI 0.5–1.7).Conclusions:NAb may be important for sustained viral clearance.Lower respiratory tract infection was associated with higher viral load among all infections when compared to upper respiratory tract infection.Continuous lower respiratory and intermittent upper respiratory viral shedding among COVID-19 infections may occur.Siqi Li Xiaoli Wang Li Li Yang Pan Siyuan Yang Dawei Tan Ying Shen Peng Yang Naor Bar-Zeev Yaling Hu Jacky MJennings Simin Li Linghang Wang Quanyi Wang 2022China CDC weekly2022,4,5:1

13Enlisting a Traditional Chinese Medicine to tune the gelation kinetics of a bioactive tissue adhesive for fast hemostasis or minimally invasive therapy显示文摘Gelation kinetics is important in tailoring chemically crosslinked hydrogel-based injectable adhesives for different applications.However,the regulation of gelation rate is usually limited to varying the gel precursor and/or crosslinker concentration,which cannot reach a fine level and inevitably alters the physical properties of hydrogels.Amidation reactions are widely used to synthesize hydrogel adhesives.In this work,we propose a traditional Chinese medicine(Borax)-input strategy to tune the gelation rate of amidation reaction triggered systems.Borax provides an initial basic buffer environment to promote the deprotonation process of amino groups and accelerate this reaction.By using a tissue adhesive model PEG-lysozyme(PEG-LZM),the gelation time can be modulated from seconds to minutes with varying Borax concentrations,while the physical properties remain constant.Moreover,the antibacterial ability can be improved due to the bioactivity of Borax.The hydrogel precursors can be regulated to solidify instantly to close the bleeding wound at emergency.Meanwhile,they can also be customized to match the flowing time in the catheter,thereby facilitating minimally invasive tissue sealing.Because this method is easily operated,we envision Borax adjusted amidation-type hydrogel has a promising prospect in clinical application.Haoqi Tan Dawei Jin Junjie Sun Jialin Song Yao Lu Meng Yin Xin Chen Xue Qu Changsheng Liu 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,3:0

15A quantitative evaluation of the factors influencing the air-sea carbon dioxide transfer velocity显示文摘The numerous factors influencing the air-sea carbon dioxide(CO_2) transfer velocity have been discussed for many years, yet the contributions of various factors have undergone little quantitative estimation. To better understand the mechanism of air-sea transfer, the effects of different factors are discussed on the air-sea transfer velocity and the various parametric models describing the phenomenon are classified and compared.Then, based on GAS EX-98 and ASGAMAGE data, wind models are evaluated and the effects of some factors are discussed quantitatively, including bubbles, waves, wind and so on by considering their interaction through a piecewise average approach. It is found that the air-sea CO_2 transfer velocity is not only the function of the wind speed, but is also affected by bubbles, wave parameters and other factors. Stepwise and linear regressions are used. When considering the wind speed, bubbles mediated and the significant wave height, the root mean square error is reduced from 34.53 cm/h to 16.96 cm/h. 18Increased retinal venule diameter as a prognostic indicator for recurrent cerebrovascular events:a prospective observational study显示文摘Microvasculature of the retina is considered an alternative marker of cerebral vascular risk in healthy populations.However,the ability of retinal vasculature changes,specifically focusing on retinal vessel diameter,to predict the recurrence of cerebrovascular events in patients with ischemic stroke has not been determined comprehensively.While previous studies have shown a link between retinal vessel diameter and recurrent cerebrovascular events,they have not incorporated this information into a predictive model.Therefore,this study aimed to investigate the relationship between retinal vessel diameter and subsequent cerebrovascular events in patients with acute ischemic stroke.Additionally,we sought to establish a predictive model by combining retinal veessel diameter with traditional risk factors.We performed a prospective observational study of 141 patients with acute ischemic stroke who were admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University.All of these patients underwent digital retinal imaging within 72 hours of admission and were followed up for 3 years.We found that,after adjusting for related risk factors,patients with acute ischemic stroke with mean arteriolar diameter within 0.5-1.0 disc diameters of the disc margin(MAD_(0.5-1.0DD))of≥74.14μm and mean venular diameter within 0.5-1.0 disc diameters of the disc margin(MVD_(0.5-1.0DD))of≥83.91μm tended to experience recurrent cerebrovascular events.We established three multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression models:model 1 included traditional risk factors,model 2 added MAD_(0.5-1.0DD)to model 1,and model 3 added MVD0.5-1.0DD to model 1.Model 3 had the greatest potential to predict subsequent cerebrovascular events,followed by model 2,and finally model 1.These findings indicate that combining retinal venular or arteriolar diameter with traditional risk factors could improve the prediction of recurrent cerebrovascular events in patients with acute ischemic stroke,and that retinal imaging could be a useful and non-invasive method for identifying high-risk patients who require closer monitoring and more aggressive management.Ying Zhao Dawei Dong Ding Yan Bing Yang Weirong Gui Man Ke Anding Xu Zefeng Tan 2024Neural Regeneration Research2024,19,5:0

20Facile Preparation of Fe-N-C Oxygen Reduction Electrocatalysts from Metal Organic Frameworks for Zn-Air Battery显示文摘It is critical to study efficient,stable oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)electrocatalysts due to insufficient stability and expensive price of Pt/C catalysts for Zn-air batteries.Fe–N–C electrocatalysts was synthesized by a facile solvent-green method and the efficiency of Fe–N–C optimized was studied as potential ORR electrocatalysts under alkaline condition.Results indicated that it had excellent ORR activity with E_(1/2)of 0.93 V,which was competitive to that of Pt/C-JM under the same conditions.Moreover,the assembled Zn-air battery exhibited discharge potential and charge potential of 1.2 V,2.32 V at 5 mA cm^(−2)with high stability,respectively.Overall,all results illustrated that Fe–N–C is an excellent ORR electrocatalyst in the field of metal air battery.Additionally,this work opens a good way to synthesize highly efficient electrocatalysts from metal organic framework and to investigate ORR mechanism of efficient chemical energy to electricity conversion.Chengcheng Wang Dawei Luo Bingxue Hou Mortaza Gholizadeh Zanxiong Tan Xiaojie Han 2022Journal of Renewable Materials2022,10,5:0
