Enhanced secondary pollution offset reduction of primary emissions during COVID-19 lockdown in China显示文摘To control the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus(COVID-19),China imposed nationwide restrictions on the movement of its population(lockdown)after the Chinese New Year of 2020,leading to large reductions in economic activities and associated emissions.Despite such large decreases in primary pollution, there were nonetheless several periods of heavy haze pollution in eastern China, raising questions about the well-established relationship between human activities and air quality. Here, using comprehensive measurements and modeling,we show that the haze during the COVID lockdown was driven by enhancements of secondary pollution. In particular, large decreases in NOx emissions from transportation increased ozone and nighttime NO_(3)radical formation, and these increases in atmospheric oxidizing capacity in turn facilitated the formation of secondary particulate matter. Our results, afforded by the tragic natural experiment of the COVID-19 pandemic, indicate that haze mitigation depends upon a coordinated and balanced strategy for controlling multiple pollutants. | Xin Huang Aijun Ding Jian Gao Bo Zheng Derong Zhou Ximeng Qi Rong Tang Jiaping Wang Chuanhua Ren Wei Nie Xuguang Chi Zheng Xu Liangduo Chen Yuanyuan Li Fei Che Nini Pang Haikun Wang Dan Tong Wei Qin Wei Cheng Weijing Liu Qingyan Fu Baoxian Liu Fahe Chai Steven JDavis Qiang Zhang Kebin He | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,2: | 47
Rhizobacterium Bacillus amyloliquefaciens Strain SQRT3-Mediated Induced Systemic Resistance Controls Bacterial Wilt of Tomato显示文摘Tomato bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia solanacearum seriously threats tomato growth in tropical and temperate regions around the world. This study reported an antagonistic bacterial strain, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain SQRT3, isolated from the rhizosphere soil of tomato plants, which strongly inhibited in vitro growth of pathogenic R.solanacearum.The suppression of tomato bacterial wilt by strain SQRT3 was demonstrated under greenhouse conditions.Additionally, induced systemic resistance(ISR) in tomato as one of the potential disease suppression mechanisms was investigated in the plants inoculated with the isolated bacterial strain SQRT3.The results showed that strain SQRT3 applied with R.solanacearum by drenching significantly reduced tomato bacterial wilt by 68.1% biocontrol efficiency(BE) and suppressed the R.solanacearum populations in the rhizosphere soil compared to the control only drenched with R.solanacearum.The BE of the isolated bacterial strain SQRT3 against tomato wilt increased to 84.1%by root-dipping.Tomato plants treated with both strain SQRT3 and R.solanacearum showed increases in activities of peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase compared with other treatments. The application of strain SQRT3 reduced membrane lipid peroxidation in tomato leaves. The expressions of marker genes for jasmonic acid-and salicylic acid-dependent signaling pathways were faster and stronger in tomato plants treated with both strain SQRT3 and R.solanacearum than in plants treated with either R.solanacearum or strain SQRT3 alone.Collectively, the findings indicated that strain SQRT3 can effectively control tomato wilt. | LI Chunyu HU Weicong PAN Bin LIU Yan YUAN Saifei DING Yuanyuan LI Rong ZHENG Xinyan SHEN Biao SHEN Qirong | 2017 | Pedosphere2017,27,6: | 18
Ammonium removal pathways and microbial community in GAC-sand dual media filter in drinking water treatment显示文摘A GAC-sand dual media filter(GSF) was devised as an alternative solution for drinking water treatment plant to tackle the raw water polluted by ammonium in place of expensive ozone-GAC processes or bio-pretreatments.The ammonium removal pathways and microbial community in the GSFs were investigated. The concentrations of ammonium, nitrite and nitrate nitrogen were monitored along the filter.Total inorganic nitrogen(TIN) loss occurred during the filtration. For 1 mg ammonium removal, the TIN loss was as high as 0.35 mg,DO consumption was 3.06 mg,and alkalinity consumption was 5.55 mg.It was assumed that both nitrification and denitrification processes occur in the filters to fit the TIN loss and low DO consumption.During the filtration, nitritation, nitrification and nitritation-anaerobic ammonium oxidation processes probably occur, while traditional nitrification and denitrification and simultaneous nitrification and denitrification processes may occur. In the GSFs,Nitrosomonas and Nitrospira are likely to be involved in nitrification processes, while Novosphingobium,Comamonadaceae and Oxalobacteraceae may be involved in denitrification processes. | Shuo Feng Shuguang Xie Xiaojian Zhang Zhiyu Yang Wei Ding Xiaobin Liao Yuanyuan Liu Chao Chen | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,9: | 14
Towards reliable Arctic sea ice prediction using multivariate data assimilation显示文摘Rapid declines in Arctic sea ice have captured attention and pose significant challenges to a variety of stakeholders. There is a rising demand for Arctic sea ice prediction at daily to seasonal time scales, which is partly a sea ice initial condition problem. Thus, a multivariate data assimilation that integrates sea ice observations to generate realistic and skillful model initialization is needed to improve predictive skill of Arctic sea ice. Sea ice data assimilation is a relatively new research area. In this review paper, we focus on two challenges for implementing multivariate data assimilation systems for sea ice forecast. First, to address the challenge of limited spatiotemporal coverage and large uncertainties of observations, we discuss sea ice parameters derived from satellite remote sensing that(1) have been utilized for improved model initialization, including concentration, thickness and drift, and(2) are currently under development with the potential for enhancing the predictability of Arctic sea ice, including melt ponds and sea ice leads. Second, to strive to generate the ‘‘best' estimate of sea ice initial conditions by combining model simulations/forecasts and observations, we review capabilities and limitations of different data assimilation techniques that have been developed and used to assimilate observed sea ice parameters in dynamical models. | Jiping Liu Zhiqiang Chen Yongyun Hu Yuanyuan Zhang Yifan Ding Xiao Cheng Qinghua Yang Lars Nerger Gunnar Spreen Radley Horton Jun Inoue Chaoyuan Yang Ming Li Mirong Song | 2019 | Science Bulletin2019,64,1: | 10
DEVELOPMENT OF EXPERIMENTAL METHODS FOR IMPACT TESTING BY COMBINING HOPKINSON PRESSURE BAR WITH OTHER TECHNIQUES显示文摘The split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB) technique and the wave propagation inverse analysis(WPIA) technique are both extensively used to experimentally investigate the impact behavior of materials, although neither of them alone provides a fully satisfactory analysis. In the present paper, attention is given to new experimental techniques by incorporating a damagemodified constitutive model into the SHPB technique and combining the Hopkinson pressure bar(HPB) technique with WPIA. First, to distinguish the response due to dynamic constitutive behavior and the response due to dynamic damage evolution, the SHPB method incorporating a damage-modified constitutive model is developed, including an explicit damage-modified Zhu–Wang–Tang model and an implicit damage-modified constitutive model. Second, when the SHPB results become invalid, a method of combining new Lagrange inverse analyses with the HPB technique is developed, including cases of the HPB arranged in front of a long specimen and behind the specimen. As examples of these new methods, typical results are given for nonlinear viscoelastic polymers and concretes considering damage evolution, a super-elastic Ti–Ni alloy with phase transformation and an aluminum foam with shock waves propagating within it. | Lili Wang Shisheng Hu Liming Yang Zijian Sun Jue Zhu Huawei Lai Yuanyuan Ding | 2014 | Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2014,27,4: | 9
High-Temperature Metamorphism, Anataxis and Tectonic Evolution of a Mafic Granulite from the Eastern Himalayan Orogen显示文摘The Himalayan Orogen, resulting from the Tertiary collision of Indian and Asian continents, is a natural laboratory for studying metamorphism, partial melting and granite formation of collisional orogens. However, metamorphic and anatectic conditions and timescales of meta-mafic rocks in the Greater Himalayan Sequences(GHS) in the east-central Himalaya remain controversial. In this paper, we conduct a study of petrology and geochronology of mafic granulite from the Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis(EHS). The mafic granulite with abundant leucosome bands occurs as layers within felsic granulites and is well deformed. The granulite consists of garnet, plagioclase, amphibole and quartz with minor clinopyroxene, orthopyroxene, biotite, rutile, titanite and ilmenite. The garnet has growth compositional zoning and contains abundant mineral inclusions in its core. Peak metamorphic mineral assemblage of the granulite is garnet, amphibole, plagioclase, quartz, clinopyroxene and rutile, recording a high-pressure(HP) and high-temperature(HT) peak-metamorphism under conditions of 14–15.5 kbar and 780–790℃ in the presence of melt. The reconstructed clockwise P-T path is characterized by an early heating and burial prograde metamorphism, and late isothermal and cooling decompression retrogression. The granulite witnessed a long lasting HT metamorphism, partial melting and melt crystallization process which began at ca. 39 Ma and lasted to ca. 11 Ma. The present study shows that various high-grade rocks of the GHS in the EHS core experienced similar metamorphic conditions and P-T-t paths, indicating that they occurred as a coherent slab during the subduction and exhumation of Indian lithosphere. The significant melts generated during the prograde metamorphism of the GHS rocks not only contributed to the formation of the Himalayan leucogranite, but also resulted in the rheological weakening and ductile flow of the thickened lower crust of the Himalayan Orogen. | Zeming Zhang Huixia Ding Xin Dong Zuolin Tian Dongyan Kang Hongchen Mu Shengkai Qin Yuanyuan Jiang Mengmei Li | 2018 | Journal of Earth Science2018,29,5: | 7
Ecological provinces of spring phytoplankton in the Yellow Sea:species composition显示文摘Phytoplanktonic ecological provinces of the Yellow Sea(31.20°–39.23°N, 121.00°–125.16°E) is derived in terms of species composition and hydrological factors(temperature and salinity). 173 samples were collected from 40 stations from April 28 to May 18, 2014, and a total of 185 phytoplanktonic algal species belonging to 81 genera of 7phyla were identified by Uterm?hl method. Phytoplankton abundance in surface waters is concentrated in the west coast of Korean Peninsula and Korea Bay, and communities in those areas are mainly composed of diatoms and cyanobacteria with dominant species of Cylindrotheca closterium, Synechocystis pevalekii, Chroomonas acuta,Paralia sulcata, Thalassiosira pacifica and Karenia mikimotoi, etc. The first ten dominant species of the investigation area are analyzed by multidimensional scaling(MDS) and cluster analysis, then the Yellow Sea is divided into five provinces from Province I(P-I) to Province V(P-V). P-I includes the coastal areas near southern Liaodong Peninsula, with phytoplankton abundance of 35 420×10~3–36 163×10~3 cells/L and an average of 35 791×10~3 cells/L, and 99.84% of biomass is contributed by cyanobacteria. P-II is from Shandong Peninsula to Subei coastal area. Phytoplankton abundance is in a range of 2×10~3–48×10~3 cells/L with an average of 24×10~3cells/L, and 63.69% of biomass is contributed by diatoms. P-III represents the Changjiang(Yangtze River) Diluted Water. Phytoplankton abundance is 10×10~3–37×10~3 cells/L with an average of 24×10~3 cells/L, and 73.14% of biomass is contributed by diatoms. P-IV represents the area affected by the Yellow Sea Warm Current.Phytoplankton abundance ranges from 6×10~3 to 82×10~3 cells/L with an average of 28×10~3 cells/L, and 64.17% of biomass is contributed by diatoms. P-V represents the cold water mass of northern Yellow Sea. Phytoplankton abundance is in a range of 41×10~3–8 912×10~3 cells/L with an average of 1 763×10~3 cells/L, and 89.96% of biomass is contributed by diatoms. Overall, structures of phytoplankton community in spring are quite heterogeneous in different provinces. Canonical correspondence analysis(CCA) result illustrates the relationship between dominant species and environmental factors, and demonstrates that the main environmental factors that affect phytoplankton distribution are nitrate, temperature and salinity. | ZHANG Shan LENG Xiaoyun FENG Yuanyuan DING Changlin YANG Yang WANG Jing WANG Houjie SUN Jun | 2016 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2016,35,8: | 7
In vivo evaluation of urokinase-loaded hollow nanogels for sonothrombolysis on suture embolization-induced acute ischemic stroke rat model显示文摘The urokinase-type plasminogen activator(uPA)loaded hollow nanogels(nUK)were synthesized by a one-step reaction of glycol chitosan and aldehyde capped poly(ethylene oxide). The resultant formulation is sensitive to diagnostic ultrasound(US)of 2 MHz.Herein,we evaluated the in vivo sonothrombolysis performance of the nUK on acute ischemic stroke rat model which was established by suture embolization of middle cerebral artery(MCA).Via intravenous(i.v.)administration,the experimental data prove a controlled release of the therapeutic protein around the clots under ultrasound stimulation, leading to enhanced thrombolysis efficiency of the nUK,evidenced from smaller infarct volume and better clinical scores when compared to the i.v.dose of free uPA no matter with or without US intervention.Meanwhile, the preservation ability of the nanogels not only prolonged the circulation duration of the protein, but also resulted in the better blood-brain barrier protection of the nUK formulation, showing no increased risk on the hemorrhagic transformation than the controls. This work suggests that the nUK is a safe sonothrombolytic formulation for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke. | Yuming Teng Haiqiang Jin Ding Nan Mengnan Li Chenghe Fan Yuanyuan Liu Pu Lv Wei Cui Yongan Sun Hongjun Hao Xiaozhong Qu Zhenzhong Yang Yining Huang | 2018 | Bioactive Materials2018,3,1: | 7
Nasal delivery of broadly neutralizing antibodies protects mice from lethal challenge with SARS-CoV-2 delta and omicron variants显示文摘Multiple new variants of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-Co V-2)have constantly emerged,as the delta and omicron variants, which have developed resistance to currently gained neutralizing antibodies. This highlights a critical need to discover new therapeutic agents to overcome the variants mutations.Despite the availability of vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),the use of broadly neutralizing antibodies has been considered as an alternative way for the prevention or treatment of SARS-Co V-2 variants infection. Here,we show that the nasal delivery of two previously characterized broadly neutralizing antibodies(F61 and H121)protected K18-h ACE2 mice against lethal challenge with SARS-Co V-2 variants. The broadly protective efficacy of the F61 or F61/F121 cocktail antibodies was evaluated by lethal challenge with the wild strain(WIV04)and multiple variants, including beta(B.1.351),delta(B.1.617.2),and omicron(B.1.1.529)at 200or 1000 TCID_(50),and the minimum antibody administration doses(5-1.25 mg/kg body weight)were also evaluated with delta and omicron challenge.Fully prophylactic protections were found in all challenged groups with both F61 and F61/H121 combination at the administration dose of 20 mg/kg body weight, and corresponding mice lung viral RNA showed negative, with almost all alveolar septa and cavities remaining normal.Furthermore,low-dose antibody treatment induced significant prophylactic protection against lethal challenge with delta and omicron variants, whereas the F61/H121 combination showed excellent results against omicron infection. Our findings indicated the potential use of broadly neutralizing monoclonal antibodies as prophylactic and therapeutic agent for protection of current emerged SARS-Co V-2 variants infection. | Jia Lu Qiangling Yin Rongjuan Pei Qiu Zhang Yuanyuan Qu Yongbing Pan Lina Sun Ding Gao Cuiqin Liang Jingwen Yang Wei Wu Jiandong Li Zongqiang Cui Zejun Wang Xinguo Li Dexin Li Shiwen Wang Kai Duan Wuxiang Guan Mifang Liang Xiaoming Yang | 2022 | Virologica Sinica2022,37,2: | 4
Fabrication of(TiB/Ti)-TiAl composites with a controlled laminated architecture and enhanced mechanical properties显示文摘The(TiB/Ti)-TiAl composites with a laminated structure composing of alternating TiB/Ti composite layers,α_(2)-Ti_(3)Al interfacial reaction layers of andγ-TiAl layers were successfully pre pared by spark plasma sintering of alternately stacked Tib_(2)/Ti powder layers and TiAl powder layers. And the influence of thickness ratio of Tib_(2)/Ti powder layers to TiAl powder layers on microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of the re sulting(TiB/Ti)-TiAl laminated composites were investigated systemically. The results showed that the thickening ofα_(2)-Ti_(3)Al layers which originated from the reaction of Ti and TiAl was significantly hindered by introducing Tib_(2)particles into starting Ti powders. As the thickness ratio of Tib_(2)/Ti powder layers to TiAl powder layers increased, the bending fracture strength and fracture toughness at room temperature of the final(TiB/Ti)-TiAl laminated composites were remarkably improved, especially for the(TiB/Ti)-TiAl composites prepared by Tib_(2)/Ti powder layers with thickness of 800μm and TiAl powder layers with thickness of 400μm,whose fracture toughness and bending strength were up to 51.2 MPa·m^(1/2)and 1456 MPa,respectively,293%and 108%higher than that of the monolithic TiAl alloys in the present work. This was attributed to the addition of high-performance network TiB/Ti composite layers. Moreover,it was noteworthy that the ultimate tensile strength at 700℃of(TiB/Ti)-TiAl composites fabricated by 400μm thick Tib_(2)/Ti powder layers and 400μm thick TiAl powder layers was as high as that at 550℃of network TiB/Ti composites. This means the service temperature of(TiB/Ti)-TiAl laminated composites was likely raised by 150℃,meanwhile a good combination of high strength and high toughness at ambient tempe rature could be maintained. Finally, the fracture mechanism of(TiB/Ti)-TiAl laminated composites was proposed. | Hao Ding Xiping Cui Naonao Gao Yuan Sun Yuanyuan Zhang Lujun Huang Lin Geng | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,3: | 3

On-line near-infrared spectroscopy optimizing and monitoring biotransformation process of γ-aminobutyric acid显示文摘Near-infrared spectroscopy(NIRS) with its fast and nondestructive advantages can be qualified for the real-time quantitative analysis. This paper demonstrates that NIRS combined with partial least squares(PLS) regression can be used as a rapid analytical method to simultaneously quantify L-glutamic acid(LGlu) and γ-aminobutyric acid(GABA) in a biotransformation process and to guide the optimization of production conditions when the merits of NIRS are combined with response surface methodology. The high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) reference analysis was performed by the o-phthaldialdehyde pre-column derivatization.NIRS measurements of two batches of 141 samples were firstly analyzed by PLS with several spectral pre-processing methods.Compared with those of the HPLC reference analysis, the resulting determination coefficients(R^2),root mean square error of prediction(RMSEP) and residual predictive deviation(RPD) of the external validation for the L-Glu concentration were 99.5%,1.62 g/L,and11.3,respectively.For the GABA concentration,R^2,RMSEP,and RPD were 99.8%,4.00 g/L,and 16.4,respectively.This NIRS model was then used to optimize the biotransformation process through a BoxBehnken experimental design.Under the optimal conditions without p H adjustment,200 g/L L-Glu could be catalyzed by 7148 U/L glutamate decarboxylase(GAD) to GABA,reaching 99% conversion at the fifth hour.NIRS analysis provided timely information on the conversion from L-Glu to GABA.The results suggest that the NIRS model can not only be used for the routine profiling of enzymatic conversion, providing a simple and effective method of monitoring the biotransformation process of GABA,but also be considered to be an optimal tool to guide the optimization of production conditions. | Guoyu Ding Yuanyuan Hou Jiamin Peng Yunbing Shen Min Jiang Gang Bai | 2016 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2016,6,3: | 2

The clinical symptoms of anaphylactoid and allergic reactions are similar, with allergy-related mediators released via degranulation of mast cells or basophils. However, the underlying mechanisms of anaphylactoid reactions are very different from allergic reactions. | 14 | Finite-Time Synchronization for a Class of Dynamical Complex Networks with Nonidentical Nodes and Uncertain Disturbance显示文摘This paper investigates the finite-time synchronization for a class of linearly coupled dynamical complex networks with both nonidentical nodes and uncertain disturbance. A set of controllers are designed such that the considered system can be finite-timely synchronized onto the target node. Based on the stability of the error equation, the Lyapunov function method and the linear matrix inequality technique, several sufficient conditions are derived to ensure the finite-time synchronization, and applied to the case of identical nodes and tlie one without uncertain disturbance. Also the adaptive finite-time synchronization is discussed. A numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of the main results obtained. | LI Qingbo GUO Jin SUN Changyin WU Yuanyuan DING Zhengtao | 2019 | Journal of Systems Science & Complexity2019,32,3: | 2 |

Spatiotemporal patterns of the forage-livestock balance in the Xilin Gol steppe,China:implications for sustainably utilizing grassland-ecosystem services显示文摘Understanding the spatiotemporal patterns of the forage-livestock balance is imperative for regionally arranging animal husbandry production while ensuring sustainable grassland-ecosystem service use.The Xilin Gol steppe is an important native grassland resource in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,China. This study aimed to elucidate the dynamics of the forage-livestock balance in the Xilin Gol steppe during the period 2000–2015.We evaluated the forage production and corresponding livestock carrying capacity(LCC)in the growing seasons of 2000–2015 using remote sensing data and field surveys. The spatiotemporal patterns of the forage-livestock balance were then assessed at regional, city(including city, county and banner),and village scales using statistical and household survey data. The results showed that both forage production and LCC decreased in the Xilin Gol steppe from east to west.During the period 2000–2015,the regional average forage production and corresponding LCC fluctuated without following a distinct trend, but were consistent with the variations in precipitation. The forage-livestock balance varied with time, space, and scale. At the regional scale, steppes were overgrazed in the early 2000s,but a forage-livestock balance or even grazing potential was achieved in other years. At the city scale, approximately half of the region exhibited a'forage-livestock balance'since 2000.However,about half of the region still experienced overgrazing, which mainly located in the southwest sandy zones.Such changes may have been affected by the variations in grassland quality, forage production, compensation payment, and so on.We suggest a location-specific management scheme for grazing constraints, ecological compensation payment, and industry development to aid in harmonizing animal husbandry and environmental restoration, while promoting sustainable development goals by 2030. | QU Yingbo ZHAO Yuanyuan DING Guodong CHI Wenfeng GAO Guanglei | 2021 | Journal of Arid Land2021,13,2: | 2
