1Application of a Quality Control Circle to Reduce the Wait Times between Continuous Surgeries显示文摘Purpose: To investigate how to shorten patient wait times between continuous ocular operations and to evaluate the influence of a quality control circle(QCC) on operating room management.Methods:.QCC management was established to conduct activities..Clinical data were collected to analyze the causes of long wait times between continuous surgeries. 2Epidemiology and risk factors of colorectal cancer in China显示文摘In China, colorectal cancer(CRC) ranked fourth and fifth in the highest incidence and mortality rates of all malignancies in 2018, respectively. Although these rates are below the world average, China placed first worldwide in the number of new CRC cases and CRC-related deaths because of its comparatively large population. This disease represents a threat to the health of population and incurs a heavy economic burden on the society and individuals. CRC has various risk factors, including age, sex, lifestyle, genetic factors, obesity, diabetes, gut microbiota status, and precancerous lesions. Furthermore, incidence and mortality rates of CRC are closely related to socioeconomic development levels, varying according to regional and population characteristics. Prevention is the main strategy to reduce incidence and mortality rates of CRC. This can be achieved through strategies stimulating lifestyle changes, healthy diet habits, and early screening for high-risk individuals. To reduce the burden of CRC, public health officials should promote prevention and management of modifiable risk factors through national policies. The rising incidence and mortality rates of CRC in China may be timely curbed by clarifying specific epidemiological characteristics, optimizing early screening strategies, and strictly implementing diagnosis and treatment guidelines. 6The cell cycle related apoptotic susceptibility to arsenic trioxide is associated with the level of reactive oxygen species显示文摘Double staining flow cytometry was performed using 7-amino actinomycin D and 6-carboxy-2',7'-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate,to detect the level fluctuation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) during the cell cycle of normal NB4 cells. Our results showed that NB4 cells possessed higher level of ROS in G2/M phase than in G1 and S phases. Double staining flow cytometry,with TdT mediated dUTP nick end labeling (Tunel) and propidium iodide (PI),indicated that As2O3 (2 μM) could induce apoptosis in NB4 cells prevailingly from G2/M phase,and this efficacy was enhanced upon co-administration of 2,3-dimethoxy-1,4-naphthoquinone (DMNQ) (2.5 μM) which could produce the endogenous ROS. 8Dense coding scheme using superpositions of Bell-states and its NMR implementation显示文摘Dense coding using superpositions of Bell-states is proposed. The generalized Grover's algorithm is used to prepare the initial entangled states, and the reverse process of the quantum algorithm is used to determine the entangled state in the decoding measurement. Compared with the previous schemes, the superpositions of two Bell-states are exploited. Our scheme is demonstrated using a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)quantum computer. The corresponding manipulations are obtained. Experimental results show a good agreement between theory and experiment. 9Arginine, N-carbamylglutamate,and glutamine exert protective effects against oxidative stress in rat intestine显示文摘The objective of the current study is to evaluate the effects of dietary supplementation with arginine(ARG), N-carbamylglutamate(NCG), and glutamine(GLN) on rat intestinal morphology and antioxidant status under oxidative stress. Rats were fed for 30 d with one of the following iso-nitrogenous diets:basal diet(BD), BD plus 1% ARG, BD plus 0.1% NCG, and BD plus 1% GLN. On day 28, half of the rats fed BD were intraperitoneally injected with 12 mg/kg body weight of diquat(DT; i.e., the DT group) and the other half was intraperitoneally injected with sterile solution(i,e., the control group). The other diet groups were intraperitoneally injected with 12 mg/kg body weight of DT(i,e., DT + 1% GLN [DT + GLN],DT + 1% ARG [DT + ARG], and DT + 0.1% NCG [DT + NCG]). Rat jejunum samples obtained at 48 h after DT injection were analyzed. Results showed that DT significantly decreased catalase(CAT) activity and glutathione(GSH) content by 58.25% and 56.57%, respectively, and elevated malondialdehyde(MDA)content and crypt depth(CD) by 19.39% and 22.13%, respectively, in the jejunum(P < 0.05, relative to the control group). Compared with the DT group, the DT + GLN group exhibited significantly improved villus height(VH), villus width(VW), villus surface area(VSA), CD and total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC) activity(P < 0.05); the DT + ARG group exhibited significantly increased the ratio of VH to CD(H:D) and TAOC activity(P < 0.05); the DT + GLN, DT + ARG and DT + NCG groups exhibited significantly enhanced CAT activity and GSH content as well as decreased MDA content(P < 0.05). Moreover, VH, VW, VSA, CD and GSH content in the DT + GLN group were higher whereas MDA content was lower compared with the corresponding values observed in both the DT + ARG and the DT + NCG groups(P < 0.05). The H:D ratio in the DT + ARG group significantly increased compared with that in the DT + NCG and DT + GLN groups(P < 0.05). 12Cidea controls lipid droplet fusion and lipid storage in brown and white adipose tissue显示文摘Excess lipid storage in adipose tissue results in the development of obesity and other metabolic disorders including diabetes,fatty liver and cardiovascular diseases.The lipid droplet(LD)is an important subcellular organelle responsible for lipid storage.We previously observed that Fsp27,a member of the CIDE family proteins,is localized to LD-contact sites and promotes atypical LD fusion and growth.Cidea,a close homolog of Fsp27,is expressed at high levels in brown adipose tissue.However,the exact role of Cidea in promoting LD fusion and lipid storage in adipose tissue remains unknown.Here,we expressed Cidea in Fsp27-knockdown adipocytes and observed that Cidea has similar activity to Fsp27 in promoting lipid storage and LD fusion and growth.Next,we generated Cidea and Fsp27 double-deficient mice and observed that these animals had drastically reduced adipose tissue mass and a strong lean phenotype.In addition,Cidea/Fsp27 double-deficient mice had improved insulin sensitivity and were intolerant to cold.Furthermore,we observed that the brown and white adipose tissues of Cidea/Fsp27double-deficient mice had significantly reduced lipid storage and contained smaller LDs compared to those of Cidea or Fsp27single deficient mice.Overall,these data reveal an important role of Cidea in controlling lipid droplet fusion,lipid storage in brown and white adipose tissue,and the development of obesity.WU LiZhen ZHOU LinKang CHEN Cheng GONG JingYi XU Li YE Jing LI De LI Peng 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,1:11
13Endovascular treatment with or without intravenous alteplase for acute ischaemic stroke due to basilar artery occlusion显示文摘Background and purpose It remains controversial if endovascular treatment(EVT)can improve the outcome of patients with acute basilar artery occlusion(BAO).This study aims to compare the functional outcomes between EVT with and without intravenous thrombolysis(IVT)first in patients who had acute ischaemic stroke(AIS)due to BAO.Methods Patients who had AIS with BAO who underwent EVT within 24 hours of onset were enrolled in this multicentre cohort study,and the efficacy and safety were compared between IVT+EVT and direct EVT.The primary outcome was 90-day functional independence.All outcomes were assessed with adjusted OR(aOR)from the multivariable logistic regression.In addition,a meta-analysis was performed on all recently published pivotal studies on functional independence after EVT in patients with BAO.Results Of 310 enrolled patients with BAO,241(78%)were treated with direct EVT and 69(22%)with IVT+EVT.Direct EVT was associated with a worse functional outcome(aOR,0.46(95%CI 0.24 to 0.85),p=0.01).IVT+EVT was associated with a lower percentage of patients who needed≥3 passes of stent retriever(10.14%vs 20.75%).The meta-analysis regression revealed a potential positive correlation between bridging with IVT first and functional independence(r=0.14(95%CI 0.05 to 0.24),p<0.01).Conclusions This study showed that compared with direct EVT,EVT with IVT first was associated with better functional outcomes in patients with BAO treated within 24 hours of onset.The meta-analysis demonstrated similar favourable efficacy of IVT first followed by EVT in patients with BAO.Ximing Nie David Wang Yuehua Pu Yufei Wei Qixuan Lu Hongyi Yan Xin Liu Lina Zheng Jingyi Liu Xinxuan Yang Yarong Ding Dacheng Liu Wanying Duan Zhe Zhang Zhonghua Yang Miao Wen Weibin Gu Xinyi Hou Xinyi Leng Yuesong Pan Zhongrong Miao Liping Liu 2022Stroke & Vascular Neurology2022,7,3:10

17Roles of dietary supplementation with arginine or N-carbamylglutamate in modulating the inflammation, antioxidant property, and m RNA expression of antioxidant-relative signaling molecules in the spleen of rats under oxidative stress显示文摘This study evaluated the effects of arginine(Arg) or N-carbamylglutamate(NCG) on inflammation, antioxidant property, and antioxidant-related gene expression in rat spleen under oxidative stress. A total of 52 rats were randomly distributed into 4 treatment groups with 13 replicates per group. Rats were fed a basal diet(BD) or BD supplemented with Arg or NCG for 30 days. On day 28, half of the BD-fed rats were intraperitoneally injected with sterile saline(control group), and the other half with 12 mg/kg body weight of diquat(DT; DT group). The other 2 diet groups were intraperitoneally injected with 12 mg/kg body weight of DT with either Arg(1%)(DT t Arg) or NCG(0.1%)(DT t NCG). Rat spleen samples were collected for analysis at 48 h after DT injection. Results showed that DT damaged the antioxidant defense in rats compared with the control group(P < 0.05). Compared with the DT group, the DT t Arg and DT t NCG groups manifested improved anti-hydroxyl radical, catalase, and total superoxide dismutase(T-SOD) activities, increased glutathione content(P < 0.05), and decreased malondialdehyde content(P < 0.05).Moreover, compared with the DT group, the DT t Arg and DT t NCG groups enhanced mRNA expression of superoxide dismutase(SOD), glutathione peroxidase 1(GPx1), glutathione reductase(GR), nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2), Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1(Keap-1), and mammalian target of rapamycin(m TOR)(P < 0.05). Both NCG and Arg significantly increased anti-inflammatory cytokine mRNA level but suppressed the pro-inflammatory cytokine mRNA expression under oxidative stress(P < 0.05). In summary, NCG and Arg effectively alleviated oxidative stress, improved the antioxidant capacity and regulated the antioxidant-related signaling molecular expression in rat spleen. 18The construction of a genetic linkage map of non-heading Chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris ssp.chinensis Makino)显示文摘Non-heading Chinese cabbage(Brassica campestris ssp.chinensis Makino) is one of the most important vegetables in eastern China.A genetic linkage map was constructed using 127 doubled haploid(DH) lines,and the DH population was derived from a commercial hybrid 'Hanxiao'(lines SW-13 × L-118).Out of the 614 polymorphic markers,43.49% were not assigned to any of the linkage groups(LGs).Chi-square tests showed that 42.67% markers were distorted from expected Mendelian segregation ratios,and the direction of distorted segregation was mainly toward the paternal parent L-118.After sequentially removing the markers that had an interval distance smaller than 1 cM from the upper marker,the overall quality of the linkage map was increased.Two hundred and sixty-eight molecular markers were mapped into 10 LGs,which were anchored to the corresponding chromosome of the B.rapa reference map based on common simple sequence repeat(SSR) markers.The map covers 973.38 cM of the genome and the average interval distance between markers was 3.63 cM.The number of markers on each LG ranged from 18(R08) to 64(R07),with an average interval distance within a single LG from 1.70 cM(R07) to 6.71 cM(R06).Among these mapped markers,169 were sequence-related amplified polymorphism(SRAP) mo-lecular markers,50 were SSR markers and 49 were random amplification polymorphic DNA(RAPD) markers.With further saturation to the LG,the current map offers a genetic tool for loci analysis for important agronomic traits.Yan Cheng Jianfeng Geng Jingyi Zhang Qian Wang Qingyu Ban Xilin Hou 2009Journal of Genetics and Genomics2009,36,8:9

20Adsorption performances and refrigeration application of adsorption working pair of CaCl_2-NH_3显示文摘The adsorption performance of CaCl2-NH3 is studied under the condition of different expansion spaces for adsorbent, and the relationships between adsorption performance of CaCl2-NH3 and the phenomena of swelling and agglomeration during adsorption are researched. It is found that the performance stability is related to the ratio of expansion space to the volume of adsorbent ras, and the performance attenuation is serious in the case of large ras. Severe adsorption hysteresis exists in the process of adsorption and desorption at the same evaporating and condensing temperatures, which is related to the stability constant of chemical reaction. This phenomenon cannot be explained by the theory of physical adsorption. Moderate agglomeration will be beneficial to the formation of ammoniate complex; the magnitude of expansion space will affect adsorption performance. Analysis shows that the activated energy needed in the process of adsorption for the sample with ras of 2:1 is less than that for the sample with ras of 3:1. The refrigeration performance of CaCl2-NH3 is predicted from experiments.
