| 1 | Kinsenoside attenuates osteoarthritis by repolarizing macrophages through inactivating NF-κB/MAPK signaling and protecting chondrocytes显示文摘The objective was to investigate the effect of kinsenoside(Kin) treatments on macrophage polarity and evaluate the resulting protection of chondrocytes to attenuate osteoarthritis(OA) progression.RAW264.7 macrophages were polarized to M1/M2 subtypes then administered with different concentrations of Kin. The polarization transitions were evaluated with quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(q RT-PCR), confocal observation and flow cytometry analysis. The mechanism of Kin repolarizing M1 macrophages was evaluated by Western blot. Further, macrophage conditioned medium(CM) and IL-1β were administered to chondrocytes. Micro-CT scanning and histological observations were conducted in vivo on anterior cruciate ligament transection(ACLT) mice with or without Kin treatment. We found that Kin repolarized M1 macrophages to the M2 phenotype. Mechanistically, Kin inhibited the phosphorylation of IκBα, which further reduced the downstream phosphorylation of P65 in nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB) signaling. Moreover, Kin inhibited mitogen-activated protein kinases(MAPK) signaling molecules p-JNK, p-ERK and p-P38. Additionally, Kin attenuated macrophage CM and IL-1β-induced chondrocyte damage. In vivo, Kin reduced the infiltration of M1 macrophages,promoted M2 macrophages in the synovium, inhibited subchondral bone destruction and reduced articular cartilage damage induced by ACLT. | 2 | Degradation of chlorpyrifos in laboratory soil and its impact on soil microbial functional diversity显示文摘Degradation of chlorpyrifos at different concentrations in soil and its impact on soil microbial functional diversity were investigated under laboratory condition.The degradation half-live of chlorpyrifos at levels of 4,8,and 12 mg/kg in soil were calculated to be 14.3,16.7,and 18.0 d,respectively.The Biolog study showed that the average well color development(AWCD) in soils was significantly(P < 0.05) inhibited by chlorpyrifos within the first two weeks and thereafter recovered to a similar level as the control.A similar variation in the diversity indices(Simpson index 1/D and McIntosh index U) was observed,but no significant difference among the values of the Shannon-Wiener index H was found in chlorpyrifos-treated soils.With an increasing chlorpyrifos concentration,the half-life of chlorpyrifos was significantly(P 0.05) extended and its inhibitory effect on soil microorganisms was aggravated.It is concluded that chlorpyrifos residues in soil had a temporary or short-term inhibitory effect on soil microbial functional diversity. | FANG Hua YU Yunlong CHU Xiaoqiang WANG Xiuguo YANG Xiaoe YU Jingquan | 2009 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,3: | 25 |
| 3 | Carbendazim induces a temporary change in soil bacterial community structure显示文摘The effect of carbendazim applications on the diversity and structure of a soil bacterial community was studied under field conditions using temperature gradient gel electrophoresis (TGGE) and partial sequence analysis of PCR-amplified 16S rRNA gene. After four successive introductions of carbendazim at a level of 0.94 kg active ingredient (a.i.)/ha, the genetic diversity (expressed as Shannon index, H ) decreased from 1.43 in the control to 1.29 in treated soil. This harmful effect seems to increase with the concentration of carbendazim. The value of H in the soil treated with carbendazim at 4.70 kg a.i./ha was reduced to 1.05 (P 0.05). The structure of soil bacterial community was also affected after four repeated applications of carbendazim at levels of 0.94, 1.88 and 4.70 kg a.i./ha, as seen in the relative intensities of the individual band. However, the bacterial community in carbendazim-treated soil recovered to that in the control 360 d after the first treatment. | 4 | Treatment of Enzymolysis Wastewater by Centrifugation- Coagulation- Fenton Reagent Oxidation- Adsorption Process显示文摘[Objective]The study aimed to discuss the optimal conditions for the treatment of enzymolysis wastewater by centrifugation-coagulation-Fenton reagent oxidation-adsorption process.[Method]According to the water-quality characteristics of wastewater from a heparin sodium production factory of Jiangsu Province,enzymolysis wastewater was segregated from intestinal lavage wastewater and treated through centrifugation-coagulation-Fenton reagent oxidation-adsorption process,and the optimal technical parameters were determined.[Result]After enzymolysis wastewater was centrifuged at a speed of 4 000 rpm,0.6 g/L CTS as the coagulant was added to the supernatant.Hereafter,pH of the coagulated effluent was adjusted to 3,and then 1.5%(V/V)H2O2was added to the coagulated effluent;a certain amount of ferrous sulfate(n H2O2∶n FeSO4·7H2O=8∶1)was added to the mixture;the reaction conducted for 30 min,and then solution pH was adjusted to about9.Finally,the oxidized effluent flowed through a resin red until the adsorptive capacity reached 240 BV,and COD of the effluent water was lower than 100 mg/L,meeting the Grade-I standard of Comprehensive Discharge Standard of Sewage(GB8978-1996).[Conclusion]The research could provide a new process for the treatment of enzymolysis wastewater. | Jian Zhai Chunhua Jiang Guoqing Cao Xiuguo Lu | 2013 | Meteorological and Environmental Research2013,4,9: | 3 |
| 5 | Highly Efficient Photoelectrocatalytic Reduction of CO2 to Methanol by a p–n Heterojunction CeO2/CuO/Cu Catalyst显示文摘Photoelectrocatalytic reduction of CO2 to fuels has great potential for reducing anthropogenic CO2 emissions and also lessening our dependence on fossil fuel energy.Herein,we report the successful development of a novel photoelectrocatalytic catalyst for the selective reduction of CO2 to methanol,comprising a copper catalyst modified with flower-like cerium oxide nanoparticles(CeO2 NPs)(a n-type semiconductor)and copper oxide nanoparticles(CuO NPs)(a p-type semiconductor).At an applied potential of−1.0 V(vs SCE)under visible light irradiation,the CeO2 NPs/CuO NPs/Cu catalyst yielded methanol at a rate of 3.44μmol cm^−2 h^−1,which was approximately five times higher than that of a CuO NPs/Cu catalyst(0.67μmol cm^−2 h^−1).The carrier concentration increased by^108 times when the flower-like CeO2 NPs were deposited on the CuO NPs/Cu catalyst,due to synergistic transfer of photoexcited electrons from the conduction band of CuO to that of CeO2,which enhanced both photocatalytic and photoelectrocatalytic CO2 reduction on the CeO2 NPs.The facile migration of photoexcited electrons and holes across the p–n heterojunction that formed between the CeO2 and CuO components was thus critical to excellent light-induced CO2 reduction properties of the CeO2 NPs/CuO NPs/Cu catalyst.Results encourage the wider application of composite semiconductor electrodes in carbon dioxide reduction. | Zhengbin Pan Ershuan Han Jingui Zheng Jing Lu Xiaolin Wang Yanbin Yin Geoffrey INWaterhouse Xiuguo Wang Peiqiang Li | 2020 | Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,2: | 3 |
