| 1 | Carbon-based supercapacitors for efficient energy storage显示文摘The advancement of modern electronic devices depends strongly on the highly efficient energy sources possessing high energy density and power density. In this regard, supercapacitors show great promise. Due to the unique hierarchical structure, excellent electrical and mechanical properties, and high specific surface area, carbon nanomaterials(particularly, carbon nanotubes, graphene, mesoporous carbon and their hybrids) have been widely investigated as efficient electrode materials in supercapacitors. This review article summarizes progress in high-performance supercapacitors based on carbon nanomaterials with an emphasis on the design and fabrication of electrode structures and elucidation of charge-storage mechanisms. | 2 | Climate and litter C/N ratio constrain soil organic carbon accumulation显示文摘Soil organic carbon(SOC) plays critical roles in stabilizing atmospheric CO2 concentration, but the mechanistic controls on the amount and distribution of SOC on global scales are not well understood. In turn, this has hampered the ability to model global C budgets and to find measures to mitigate climate change. Here, based on the data from a large field survey campaign with 2600 plots across China’s forest ecosystems and a global collection of published data from forested land, we find that a low litter carbon-to-nitrogen ratio(C/N) and high wetness index(P/PET, precipitation-to-potentialevapotranspiration ratio) are the two factors that promote SOC accumulation, with only minor contributions of litter quantity and soil texture. The field survey data demonstrated that high plant diversity decreased litter C/N and thus indirectly promoted SOC accumulation by increasing the litter quality. We conclude that any changes in plant-community composition, plant-species richness and environmental factors that can reduce the litter C/N ratio, or climatic changes that increase wetness index, may promote SOC accumulation. | 4 | Improved catalytic performance of Ni catalysts for steam methane reforming in a micro-channel reactor显示文摘Milliseconds process to produce hydrogen by steam methane reforming(SMR) reaction, based on Ni catalyst rather than noble catalyst such as Pd, Rh or Ru, in micro-channel reactors has been paid more and more attentions in recent years. This work aimed to further improve the catalytic performance of nickel-based catalyst by the introduction of additives, i.e., MgO and FeO, prepared by impregnation method on the micro-channels made of metal-ceramic complex substrate. The prepared catalysts were tested in the same micro-channel reactor by switching the catalyst plates. The results showed that among the tested catalysts Ni-Mg catalyst had the highest activity, especially under harsh conditions,i.e., at high space velocity and/or low reaction temperature. Moreover, the catalyst activity and selectivity were stable during the 12 h on stream test even when the ratio of steam to carbon(S/C) was as low as 1.0. | 6 | Abnormal expression of VEGF and its gene transcription status as diagnostic indicators in patients with non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘Objective Angiogenesis is known to be essential for the survival,growth,invasion,and metastasis of lung cancer cells. Vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) is an important factor regulating angiogenesis of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC); however,its pathologic features and significance are unclear. In this study,the tissue VEGF expression levels and its gene transcriptional status,as well as circulating VEGF levels,were investigated in patients with lung disease. Methods VEGF protein and m RNA expression levels in 38 lung tissue samples were analyzed by immunohistochemistry and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR),respectively. Circulating VEGF levels were detected quantitatively by an enzyme linked immuno-sorbent assay. Results The level of VEGF expression was significantly higher in lung cancer tissue than in the corresponding paracancerous or non-cancerous tissues. The average level of VEGF-positive staining was 76% in tissue samples from NSCLC patients; the levels were 89% in tissue samples from stage III patients and 92% in stage IV patients. High VEGF expression was also evident in cases with lymph node metastasis(84%),distant metastasis(90%),and lower differentiation degree(89%). VEGF m RNA in cancerous tissues was represented predominantly by the VEGF121 and VEGF165 isoforms. Circulating VEGF levels were significantly higher in NSCLC patients [(840 ± 324) pg/m L] than in patients with benign lung diseases [(308 ± 96) pg/m L] or in healthy individuals serving as controls [(252 ± 108) pg/m L]. | 8 | Enhanced dynamic deformability and strengthening effect via twinning and microbanding in high density NiCoFeCrMoW high-entropy alloys显示文摘High density alloys with enhanced deformability and strength are urgently required in energy,military and nuclear industries,etc.In this work,we present a new kind of NiCoFeCrMoW high entropy alloys(HEAs)which possess higher densities and sound velocities than copper.We systematically investigate the phase structure,quasi-static tensile,dynamic compression and related deformation mechanism of these HEAs.It is shown that single FCC or FCC+μdual phases were formed in the HEAs depending on Mo and W content and annealing temperature.Excellent quasi-static tensile and dynamic compression properties have been achieved for these HEAs,e.g.Ni_(30)Co_(30)Fe_(21)Cr_(10)W_(9)HEA annealed at 1573 K exhibited a yield and ultimate tensile strength and elongation of~364 MPa,~866 MPa and~32%,respectively,in quasi-static test;a yield strength of~710 MPa and no fracture under the dynamic strain rate of 4100 s^(-1).Superior strain rate sensitivity(SRS)of yield strength than that of previously reported FCC HEAs have been evidenced.The dynamic stress-strain constitutive relation can be described by the modified Johnson-Cook model.As for the dynamic deformation mechanism,it is envisaged that the regulation of stacking fault energy and Peierls barrier in current HEAs resulted in occurrences of abundant nanoscale deformation twins and microbands during high strain rate compression.The synergistic microbanding and twinning effectively contributes to the enhanced dynamic deformability and strengthening effect.Besides,the interactions of dislocations with precipitates,stacking faults(SFs)with twins,and between SFs also contribute to extraordinary work-hardening capacity. | Xuli Liu Yidong Wu Yansong Wang Jinbin Chen Rui Bai Lei Gao Zhe Xu William Yi Wang Chengwen Tan Xidong Hui | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,32: | 1 |

| 13 | Clinicopathological features of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α and vascular endothelial growth factor expression in patients with lung cancer显示文摘Objective The aim of the study was to investigate the clinicopathological characteristics of hypoxiainducible factor-1α(HIF-1α) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) expression in patients with lung cancer.Methods Cancerous and noncancerous tissues were collected post-operation from 115 patients with lung cancers by the self-control method. Total RNA was extracted from the lung tissues. The status of tissue HIF-1α expression and intercellular distribution was observed by immunochemistry using a tissue microarray. The expression levels of circulating HIF-1α and VEGF were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results The expression of serum HIF-1α [(138.3 ± 28.8) μg/L] in the group of patients with lung cancer was significantly higher(P < 0.01) than that in the group of patients with pneumonia [(58.8 ± 14.5) μg/L] and the control group of patients ((24.1 ± 3.3) μg/L)There was a strong positive correlation of serum HIF-1α levels(r = 0.937, P < 0.01) with serum VEGF levels. The specific concentration of total RNA [(1.52 ± 1.14) μg/mg wet lung tissues] in the cancerous tissues was significantly higher(t = 8.494, P < 0.001) than that in the noncancerous tissues ((0.58 ± 0.33) μg/mg)The clinicopathological features of HIF-1α expression in lung cancer tissues revealed a significant relationship between positive HIF-1α expression and patient sex(χ~2 = 4.494, P = 0.034), tumor size(χ~2 = 4.679, P = 0.031), differentiation degree(χ~2= 8.846, P = 0.012), and presence of lymphatic node metastasis(χ~2= 6.604, P = 0.037).Conclusion Abnormal HIF-1α expression in lung cancer is closely related with nucleic acid metabolism and angiogenesis, and it may be helpful in the diagnosis and identification of lung cancer. | Xuli Yang Li Wang Wenli Sai Yin Cai Juanjuan Gu Xin Chen Dengfu Yao | 2016 | Oncology and Translational Medicine2016,2,6: | 1 |
| 14 | Soil C, N and P stocks and stoichiometry under different vegetation on the surface of the Leshan Giant Buddha显示文摘The accumulation of soil organic matter and nutrients is an important pathway in effectivelyunderstanding the mechanisms of plant settlement and rock weathering, while the characteristics ofsoil organic carbon (C), nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) under different vegetation remain unclear.In this study, the stocks and stoichiometry of soil organic C, N and P were determined in differentpositions and types of vegetation on the surface of the Leshan Giant Buddha. We found that the totalstocks of soil organic C, N and P were 1689.77, 134.6 and 29.48 kg, respectively, for the Buddha.The stocks of soil organic C, N and P under vascular plants were higher than those under othervegetation, with highest values observed under herb. Higher stocks per unit area (m2) of soil organicC, N and P were found on the left and right arms, shoulders, and two platforms.
