| 1 | Enhanced secondary pollution offset reduction of primary emissions during COVID-19 lockdown in China显示文摘To control the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus(COVID-19),China imposed nationwide restrictions on the movement of its population(lockdown)after the Chinese New Year of 2020,leading to large reductions in economic activities and associated emissions.Despite such large decreases in primary pollution,there were nonetheless several periods of heavy haze pollution in eastern China,raising questions about the well-established relationship between human activities and air quality.Here,using comprehensive measurements and modeling,we show that the haze during the COVID lockdown was driven by enhancements of secondary pollution.In particular,large decreases in NOx emissions from transportation increased ozone and nighttime NO_(3)radical formation,and these increases in atmospheric oxidizing capacity in turn facilitated the formation of secondary particulate matter.Our results,afforded by the tragic natural experiment of the COVID-19 pandemic,indicate that haze mitigation depends upon a coordinated and balanced strategy for controlling multiple pollutants. | Xin Huang Aijun Ding Jian Gao Bo Zheng Derong Zhou Ximeng Qi Rong Tang Jiaping Wang Chuanhua Ren Wei Nie Xuguang Chi Zheng Xu Liangduo Chen Yuanyuan Li Fei Che Nini Pang Haikun Wang Dan Tong Wei Qin Wei Cheng Weijing Liu Qingyan Fu Baoxian Liu Fahe Chai Steven JDavis Qiang Zhang Kebin He | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,2: | 47 |
| 2 | Sodium humate accelerates cutaneous wound healing by activating TGF-β/Smads signaling pathway in rats显示文摘Sodium humate(HA-Na) has been topically used as a wound healing and anti-inflammatory agent in folk medicine. In the present study, HA-Na was investigated for cutaneous wound healing in Sprague–Dawley rats. HA-Na solution(1.0%, w/v) was topically administered to rats undergoing excision wound models. Healing was assessed with a recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor for external use as positive control. Wound healing rates were calculated on Day 3, 6, 9, 14 and 21 after injury, and tissues were also harvested after the same intervals for histological analysis. In addition, tissue hydroxyproline levels were measured. Furthermore, m RNA levels and protein expressions of transforming growth factor-β1, 2, 3(TGF-β1, 2, 3) were determined by RT-PCR and western blot. Protein expression levels of Smad-2,-3,-4 and-7 were also detected by western blot. Our study demonstrates that HA-Na has the capacity to promote wound healing in rats via accelerated wound contraction and increased hydroxyproline content. More importantly, these wound healing effects of HA-Na might be mediated through the TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway. | 3 | Conductive photo-thermal responsive bifunctional hydrogel system with self-actuating and self-monitoring abilities显示文摘Despite enormous efforts in actuators,most researches are only limited to various actuation behaviors and demonstrations of soft materials.It has not yet been reported to capture and monitor its movement status in an invisible environment.Therefore,it is of great significance to develop a self-sensing and self-actuating dual-function hydrogel actuator system to realize real-time monitoring.Here,we report a bifunctional hydrogel system with self-actuating and self-monitoring abilities,which combines the functions of photothermal actuation and electrical resistance sensing into a single material.The bilayer tough conductive hydrogel synthesized by unconventional complementary concentration recombination and cryogenic freezing technique presents a dense conductive network and high-porosity structure,achieving high toughness at 190.3 kPa of tensile strength,high stretchability(164.3%strain),and the toughness dramatically(1,471.4 kJ·m^(−3)).The working mechanism of the monitoring and self-sensing system is accomplished through the integrated monitoring device of surface temperature–bending angle–electron current,to solve the problem of not apperceiving actuator motion state when encountering obstacles in an invisible environment.We demonstrated for the first time a photothermal actuator’s motion of a football player and goalkeeper to finish the penalty and a soft actuator hand,which can achieve the action of sticking to grab and release under photo-thermal actuation.When connected to the control closed circuit,the actuator realized closed-loop monitoring and sensing feedback.The development of bifunctional hydrogel systems may bring new opportunities and ideas in the fields of material science,circuit technology,sensors,and mechanical engineering. | Neng Chen Yang Zhou Yinping Liu Yuanyuan Mi Sisi Zhao Wang Yang Sai Che Hongchen liu FengJiang Chen Chong Xu Guang Ma Xue Peng Yongfeng Li | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,8: | 3 |

| 9 | Moisture stable and ultrahigh-rate Ni/Mn-based sodium-ion battery cathodes via K^(+)decoration显示文摘As one of the most promising cathodes for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs),the layered transition metal oxides have attracted great attentions due to their high specific capacities and facile synthesis.However,their applications are still hindered by the problems of poor moisture stability and sluggish Na^(+)diffusion caused by intrinsic structural Jahn–Teller distortion.Herein,we demonstrate a new approach to settle the above issues through introducing K^(+)into the structures of Ni/Mn-based materials.The physicochemical characterizations reveal that K^(+)induces atomic surface reorganization to form the birnessite-type K_(2)Mn_(4)O_(8).Combining with the phosphate,the mixed coating layer protects the cathodes from moisture and hinders metal dissolution into the electrolyte effectively.Simultaneously,K^(+)substitution at Na site in the bulk structure can not only widen the lattice-spacing for favoring Na^(+)diffusion,but also work as the rivet to restrain the grain crack upon cycling.The as achieved K^(+)-decorated P2-Na_(0.67)Mn_(0.75)Ni_(0.2)5O_(2)(NKMNO@KM/KP)cathodes are tested in both coin cell and pouch cell configurations using Na metal or hard carbon(HC)as anodes.Impressively,the NKMNO@KM/KP||Na half-cell demonstrates a high rate performance of 50 C and outstanding cycling performance of 90.1%capacity retention after 100 cycles at 5 C.Furthermore,the NKMNO@KM/KP||HC fullcell performed a promising energy density of 213.9 Wh·kg^(−1).This performance significantly outperforms most reported state-ofthe-art values.Additionally,by adopting this strategy on O3-NaMn_(0.5)Ni_(0.5)O_(2),we further proved the universality of this method on layered cathodes for SIBs. | Tao Yuan Yuanyuan Sun Siqing Li Haiying Che Qinfeng Zheng Yongjian Ni Yixiao Zhang Jie Zou Xiaoxian Zang Shi-Hao Wei Yuepeng Pang Shuixin Xia Shiyou Zheng Liwei Chen Zi-Feng Ma | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,5: | 1 |

| 11 | Novel variants of SYNGAP1 associated epileptic encephalopathy: two cases report and literature review显示文摘Background SYNGAP1 is a signifcant genetic risk factor for global developmental delay,autism spectrum disorder,and epileptic encephalopathy.De novo loss-of-function variants in this gene cause a neurodevelopmental disorder,for example,early-onset and drug-refractory seizures.We report two children with global developmental delay and epileptic encephalopathy,which are caused by SYNGAP1 gene novel mutations,and drug treatment is efective.Case presentation We report a boy and a girl presented with global developmental delay when they were young babies;as they grew up,cognitive impairment and social-communication disorder became more and more prominent;unfortunately,the patients developed into various seizure types,including eyelid myoclonia,myoclonic and absences when the boy was 1 year 8 mouths old and the girl was 3 years old.The two patients were found two previously unknown mutations by high throughput sequencing[c.3271_c.3272insT;(p.L1091L fs^(*)62),c.2515A>T(p.K839^(*))]in exon 15 of the SYNGAP in the proband.Sanger sequencing confrmed the heterozygous nature,and neither of their parents carried the same mutation.The girl treated with valproic acid and prednisone became seizure-free,and valproic acid and levetiracetam combined with clonazepam were infuential in the other.Conclusions The global developmental delay and epileptic encephalopathy of the children were probably due to the pathogenic mutation of the SYNGAP1 gene,and prednisone and clonazepam may be efective in achieving seizure-free. | Xingying Zeng Yong Chen Xiongying Yu Yuanyuan Che Hui Chen Zhaoshi Yi Jie Qin Jianmin Zhong | 2023 | Acta Epileptologica2023,6,1: | 0 |
| 12 | Multi-Omics-Guided Discovery of Omicsynins Produced by Streptomyces sp.1647:Pseudo-Tetrapeptides Active Against Influenza A Viruses and Coronavirus HCoV-229E显示文摘Many microorganisms have mechanisms that protect cells against attack from viruses.The fermentation components of Streptomyces sp.1647 exhibit potent anti-influenza A virus(IAV)activity.This strain was isolated from soil in southern China in the 1970s,but the chemical nature of its antiviral substance(s)has remained unknown until now.We used an integrated multi-omics strategy to identify the antiviral agents from this streptomycete.The antibiotics and Secondary Metabolite Analysis Shell(antiSMASH)analysis of its genome sequence revealed 38 biosynthetic gene clusters(BGCs)for secondary metabolites,and the target BGCs possibly responsible for the production of antiviral components were narrowed down to three BGCs by bioactivity-guided comparative transcriptomics analysis.Through bioinformatics analysis and genetic manipulation of the regulators and a biosynthetic gene,cluster 36 was identified as the BGC responsible for the biosynthesis of the antiviral compounds.Bioactivity-based molecular networking analysis of mass spectrometric data from different recombinant strains illustrated that the antiviral compounds were a class of structural analogues.Finally,18 pseudo-tetrapeptides with an internal ureido linkage,omicsynins A1–A6,B1–B6,and C1–C6,were identified and/or isolated from fermentation broth.Among them,11 compounds(omicsynins A1,A2,A6,B1–B3,B5,B6,C1,C2,and C6)are new compounds.Omicsynins B1–B4 exhibited potent antiviral activity against IAV with the 50%inhibitory concentration(IC_(50))of approximately 1μmol·L^(-1)and a selectivity index(SI)ranging from 100 to 300.Omicsynins B1–B4 also showed significant antiviral activity against human coronavirus HCoV-229E.By integrating multi-omics data,we discovered a number of novel antiviral pseudo-tetrapeptides produced by Streptomyces sp.1647,indicating that the secondary metabolites of microorganisms are a valuable source of novel antivirals. | Hongmin Sun Xingxing Li Minghua Chen Ming Zhong Yihua Li Kun Wang Yu Du Xin Zhen Rongmei Gao Yexiang Wu Yuanyuan Shi Liyan Yu Yongsheng Che Yuhuan Li Jian-Dong Jiang Bin Hong Shuyi Si | 2022 | Engineering2022,,9: | 0 |
| 13 | How temperature and hydrostatic pressure impact organic room temperature phosphorescence from H-aggregation of planar triarylboranes and the application in bioimaging显示文摘Highly efficient persistent organic room temperature phosphorescence(RTP) has attracted increasing attention because of promising applications in fields of chemical sensors, optoelectronic devices, information security, and bioimaging, etc. Wherein,the crystal engineering of H-aggregation offers stabilization for long-lived triplet exciton for RTP, but the related research is rare because of the scarcity of ideal phosphorescent H-aggregate. Herein, we designed planar tricoordinate organoboron derivatives with molecular arrangement in ideal H-aggregation. The integration of Br atom can largely enhance RTP efficiency through increasing SOC effect, while the antiparallel molecular arrangement causes annihilation of triplet exciton. Thanks to good selfassembly property, their RTP can even be observed in PMMA matrix with doping ratio of merely 1 wt%. We further found that the cryogenic temperature contributes to stabilizing triplet exciton in H-aggregation, leading to red-shifted phosphorescence. By applying high hydrostatic pressure, the phosphorescence was largely enhanced and redshifted, demonstrating the crucial role of H-aggregation on RTP property. | 15 | Effects of increased human tumor necrosis factor-like molecule 1A expression in peripheral blood of children with acute Guillain-Barre syndrome on interferon-gamma secretion显示文摘BACKGROUND:Human tumor necrosis factor-like molecule 1A(hTL1A) is a strong T helper cell type 1(Th1) co-stimulator.Guillain-Barre syndrome(GBS) is an autoimmune disorder of the nervous system,which is mediated by Th1 cells. OBJECTIVE:To determine hTL1A expression in peripheral blood T lymphocytes of acute GBS children and the effects of hTL1 A on secretion of interferon-γ. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A randomized,controlled,neuroimmunological in vitro study was performed at the Central Laboratory of First Hospital of Jilin University,China from November 2005 to November 2007. MATERIALS:Venous blood samples were obtained from 6 healthy donors,aged 6-12 years(all routine blood examination items were normal),and 6 additional children with acute GBS,aged 6-12 years.The GBS children fell ill within 1 week and were not treated with hormones or immunoglobulin. Purified recombinant human soluble tumor necrosis factor-like molecule 1A(rhsTL1A,1 mg/mL, relative molecular mass 22 000,6×His tag,soluble form) was supplied by the Central Laboratory of First Hospital of Jilin University,China. METHODS:Peripheral blood mononuclear cells were isolated from healthy donors using the standard Ficoll gradient centrifugation and were incubated in 96-well culture plates.The cells were assigned to the following groups:control(2μg/mL phytohemagglutinin),2μg/mL phytohemagglutinin + 25,100 and 400 ng/mL rhsTL1A.T cell proliferation was quantified using the tritiated thymidine(~3H-TdR) method.Serum interferon-γlevels in acute GBS children were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The ratio of hTL1 A-positive T cells to CD3-positive T cells in peripheral blood of acute GBS children was determined using flow cytometry. Following in vitro pre-activation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells by 2μg/mL phytohemagglutinin,the peripheral blood mononuclear cells were treated with 400 ng/mL exogenous rhsTL1A.Finally,peripheral blood mononuclear cell-secreted interferon-γlevels were measured by ELISA. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:The following parameters were measured:rhsTL1A stimulation index to stimulate proliferation of T cells;the serum interferon-γlevels in acute GBS children;the ratio of hTL1A-positive cells to CD3-positive cells;the levels of interferon-γsecreted by peripheral blood mononuclear cells in acute GBS children,as well as rhsTL1A-stimulated interferon-γlevels. RESULTS:T cell proliferation assay revealed that the stimulation index in each rhsTL1A group was greater than the control group.The stimulation index of the 400 ng/mL rhsTL1A group was the greatest.Serum interferon-γlevels in acute GBS children were significantly greater than the control group(P<0.05).The ratio of hTL1 A^+ CD3^+ T cells to CD3^+ T cells in acute GBS children was significantly greater than the control group(P<0.01).Phytohemagglutinin stimulated peripheral blood mononuclear cells to a greater extent than 400 ng/mL rhsTL1A in the acute GBS group,and the secreted interferon-γlevels were significantly increased(P<0.05). | 17 | The relationship between the oil shale density and the structural features of corresponding kerogens显示文摘Based on the difference in the density and content of kerogen and inorganic minerals, oil shale can be separatedinto different density fractions. The structural features of kerogens in Beipiao oil shale (a kind of typical lowgrade oil shale resources) with densities of 1.8–1.9, 1.9–2.0 and 2.0–2.1 g/cm3 were studied. Combined withour previous study on the structural features of Longkou and Huadian oil shales (two kinds of high-grade oil shaleresources) with different densities, the relationship between the oil shale density and the structural features ofcorresponding kerogens was revealed from aromatic, aliphatic structures and heteroatom species. The resultsshow that with increasing the density, the content of minerals increases, whereas that of kerogen decreases. Withincreasing the density, the aliphaticity, average methylene chain length and average number of attachments oneach aromatic ring increase. Whereas, the aromaticity and average size of aromatic cluster are inversely proportional to the oil shale density. For Longkou, Huadian and Beipiao oil shales with different densities, thechange rules of aromatic and aliphatic structures with the density are similar, indicating that these change rulesare independent of the grade and origin of oil shale. | 18 | Thermal-annealing-regulated plasmonic enhanced fluorescence platform enables accurate detection of antigen/antibody against infectious diseases显示文摘Plasmonic enhanced fluorescence(PEF)technology is a powerful strategy to improve the sensitivity of immunofluorescence microarrays(IFMA),however,current approaches to constructing PEF platforms are either expensive/time-consuming or reliant on specialized instruments.Here,we develop a completely alternative approach relying on a two-step protocol that includes the self-assembly of gold nanoparticles(GNPs)at the water–oil interface and subsequent annealing-assisted regulation of gold nanogap.Our optimized thermal-annealing GNPs(TA-GNP)platform generates adequate hot spots,and thus produces high-density electromagnetic coupling,eventually enabling 240-fold fluorescence enhancement of probed dyes in the near-infrared region.For clinical detection of human samples,TA-GNP provides super-high sensitivity and low detection limits for both hepatitis B surface antigen and SARS-CoV-2 binding antibody,coupled with a much-improved detection dynamic range up to six orders of magnitude.With fast detection,high sensitivity,and low detection limit,TA-GNP could not only substantially improve the outcomes of IFMA-based precision medicine but also find applications in fields of proteomic research and clinical pathology. | Ying Yue Jingjie Nan Yuanyuan Che Hongqin Xu Weihong Sun Feiran Zhang Lei Wang Wei Xu Junqi Niu Shoujun Zhu Junhu Zhang Bai Yang | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,2: | 0 |
