| 1 | Exotic origin of the Chinese continental shelf: new insights into the tectonic evolution of the western Pacific and eastern China since the Mesozoic显示文摘The effect of paleo-Pacific subduction on the geological evolution of the western Pacific and continental China is likely complex. Nevertheless, our analysis of the distribution of Mesozoic granitoids in the eastern continental China in space and time has led us to an interesting conclusion: The basement of the continental shelf beneath East and South China Seas may actually be of exotic origin geologically unrelated to the continental lithosphere of eastern China. By accepting the notion that the Jurassic–Cretaceous granitoids in the region are genetically associated with western Pacific subduction and the concept that subduction may cease to continue only if the trench is being jammed, then the termination of the granitoidmagmatism throughout the vast region at *88 ± 2 Ma manifests the likelihood of ‘‘sudden'', or shortly beforehand(*100 Ma), trench jam of the Mesozoic western Pacific subduction. Trench jam happens if the incoming‘‘plate'' or portion of the plate contains a sizeable mass that is too buoyant to subduct. The best candidate for such a buoyant and unsubductable mass is either an oceanic plateau or a micro-continent. We hypothesize that the basement of the Chinese continental shelf represents such an exotic, buoyant and unsubductable mass, rather than seaward extension of the continental lithosphere of eastern China. The locus of the jammed trench(i.e., the suture) is predictably located on the shelf in the vicinity of, and parallel to, the arc-curved coastal line of the southeast continental China. It is not straightforward to locate the locus in the northern section of the East China Sea shelf because of the more recent(\20 Ma) tectonic re-organization associated with the opening of the Sea of Japan. We predict that the trench jam at *100 Ma led to the re-orientation of the Pacific plate motion in the course of NNW direction as inferred from the age-progressive Emperor Seamount Chain of Hawaiian hotspot origin(its oldest unsubdued Meiji and Detroit seamounts are *82 Ma),making the boundary between the Pacific plate and the newly accreted plate of eastern Asia a transform fault at the location east of the continental shelf of exotic origin. This explains the apparent *40 Myr magmatic gap from *88to *50 Ma prior to present-day western Pacific subduction initiation. We propose that basement penetration drilling on well-chosen sites is needed to test the hypothesis in order to reveal the true nature of the Chinese continental shelf basement. This testing becomes critical and cannot longer be neglected in order to genuinely understand the tectonic evolution of the western Pacific and its effect on the geology of eastern China since the Mesozoic, includingthe cratonic lithosphere thinning, related magmatism/mineralization, and the mechanism of the subsequent South China Sea opening, while also offering novel perspectives on aspects of the plate tectonics theory. We also suggest the importance of future plate tectonic reconstruction of the western Pacific to consider the nature and histories of the Chinese continental shelf of exotic origin as well as the probable transform plate boundary from *100 to*50 Ma. | 2 | Petrogenesis and tectonic implications of the Triassic rhyolites in the East Kunlun Orogenic Belt, northern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The East Kunlun Orogenic Belt(EKOB),which is in the northern part of the Greater Tibetan Plateau,contains voluminous Late Triassic intermediate-felsic volcanic rocks.In the east end of the EKOB,we identified highly differentiated peralkaline-like Xiangride rhyolites(~209 Ma)that differ from the widespread andesitic-rhyolitic Elashan volcanics(~232–225 Ma)in terms of their field occurrences and mineral assemblages.The older,more common calc-alkaline felsic Elashan volcanics may have originated from partial melting of the underthrust Paleo-Tethys oceanic crust under amphibolite facies conditions associated with continental collision.The felsic Elashan volcanics and syn-collisional granitoids of the EKOB are different products of the same magmatic event related to continental collision.The Xiangride rhyolites are characterized by elevated abundances of high field strength elements,especially the very high Nb and Ta contents,the very low Ba,Sr,Eu,P,and Ti contents;and the variably high ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios(up to 0.96),exhibiting remarkable similarities to the characteristic peralkaline rhyolites.The primitive magmas parental to the Xiangride rhyolites were most likely alkali basaltic magmas that underwent protracted fractional crystallization with continental crust contamination.The rock associations from the early granitoids and calc-alkaline volcanic rocks to the late alkaline basaltic dikes and peralkaline-like rhyolites in the Triassic provide important information about the tectonic evolution of the EKOB from syn-collisional to post-collisional.We infer that the transition from collisional compression to postcollisional extension occurred at about 220 Ma. | Fengli Shao Yaoling Niu Juanjuan Kong Yi Liu Guodong Wang Yu Zhang | 2021 | Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,6: | 3 |

The structures of these new type of taskspecific ionic liquids(TSILs) are characterized by FT-IR and1 H NMR. The thermostability of ILs is analyzed by thermogravimetry. The thermoregulated properties of ILs in aqueous and organic solvents are mainly investigated.These ILs have the corresponding cloud points(CPs) in aqueous. The effects of IL concentration, polymerization degree, inorganic additives and organic additives on the CP are studied. IL/DMF/n-heptane or n-octane biphasic system has the corresponding critical solution temperature(CST),and has the feature of ‘‘homogeneous at high temperature,heterogeneous at low temperature''. The effects of IL dosage and polymerization degree on the CST are given.IL/DMF/n-octane thermoregulated biphasic system has been successfully applied for catalytic oxidative desulfurization of model fuels. Nine phylogenetically supported Symbiodiniaceae clades(each containing multiple genetically distinct molecular types) have been detected in reef-associated animals and in seawater or sediments near coral reef areas. Although major advances in research on Symbiodiniaceae diversity have been made, information on the global-scale diversity and distribution characteristics of Symbiodiniaceae clades/types is still limited or must be expanded because most studies on Symbiodiniaceae have mainly focused on a limited number of hosts associated with Symbiodiniaceae or coral reef areas. Here, the diversity and distribution characteristics of Symbiodiniaceae data derived from reef-associated animals and seawater or sediments near coral reef areas were analyzed using 3899 qualified Symbiodiniaceae internal transcribed spacer 2(ITS2) sequences retrieved from the GenBank database in May 2017. These sequences were annotated as Symbiodiniaceae ITS2 types via sequence alignment against database of Symbiodiniaceae ITS2 types. Results showed that photosynthetic Symbiodiniaceae ITS2 sequences could be annotated as 119 Symbiodiniaceae ITS2 types within nine clades(A–I), and Symbiodiniaceae ITS2 types mainly inhabited coral reefs between 30?N and 30?S. Symbiodiniaceae ITS2 types could be associated with multiple host taxa. Interestingly, these results implied that the distribution of Symbiodiniaceae ITS2 types was distinct in the Atlantic Ocean, the Red Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Indo-Pacific Ocean. | 15 | Phylogenetically diverse endozoic fungi in the South China Sea sponges and their potential in synthesizing bioactive natural products suggested by PKS gene and cytotoxic activity analysis显示文摘Sponges are well documented to harbor large amounts of microbes.Though it is known that spongederived fungi are important sources for marine natural products,the phylogenetic diversity and biological function of sponge-associated fungi remain largely unknown.In this study,the diversity of culturable endozoic fungi in sponges from the South China Sea was revealed based on the ITS phylogenetic analysis.Meanwhile the fungal potential for producing bioactive natural products was estimated according to the detection of Beta-ketosynthase in the polyketide synthase(PKS)gene cluster and cytotoxic activity bioassay.As a result,diverse fungi including 14 genera(Aspergillus,Penicillium,Scolecobasidium,Eurotium,Alternaria,Fusarium,Hypocreales,Yarrowia,Candida,Hypoxylon,Sporidiobolus,Schizophyllum,Bjerkandera,and Trichosporon)in ten orders(Xylariales,Moniliales,Pleosporales,Saccharomycetales,Hypocreales,Eurotiales,Sporidiobolales,Agaricales,Aphyllophorales and Tremellales)of phyla Ascomycota and Basidiomycota were isolated with Aspergillus as the predominant component in the culturable fungal community.Particularly,genera Schizophyllum,Sporidiobolus,and Bjerkandera in phylum Basidiomycota and genus Yarrowia in phylum Ascomycota were isolated from marine sponges for the first time.PKS genes were detected in 12 isolates suggesting their potential for synthesizing PKS compounds.Among the 12 isolates with PKS genes,9 isolates displayed strong in vitro cytotoxic activity(e.g.IC50<50μg/ml)against human cancer cell lines A549,Bel-7402,A-375 and MRC-5.This study demonstrates the phylogenetically diverse endozoic fungi in South China Sea sponges,and highlights the potential of spongeassociated fungi in producing biologically active natural products. | Zhisheng Yu Baohua Zhang Wei Sun Fengli Zhang Zhiyong Li | 2013 | Fungal Diversity2013,,1: | 1 |

It is marked by multiple extreme climate changes that caused alternating global glacial and interglacial intervals. These dramatically changed the sedimentary system, and metal ores and source rocks distributed widely during this period. Therefore, studying the Cryogenian stratigraphic framework and sedimentary basins is important to improve the stratigraphic resolution for metal mineral and hydrocarbon prospecting and exploration in China. This review paper firstly divides three tectonic-stratigraphic regions in China in the Cryogenian, including the tectonic-stratigraphic regions of Great South China, Xingmeng-Tarim, and North China. Secondly, geochronologic data and geological records are combined to clearly depict the Cryogenian sedimentary sequence of continental blocks and micro-continental blocks in different tectonic-stratigraphic regions. The results were used to propose a new comparison scheme of stratigraphy for the Cryogenian in China. | 17 | Aberrant NF-κB activation in odontoblasts orchestrates inflammatory matrix degradation and mineral resorption显示文摘Inflammation-associated proteinase functions are key determinants of inflammatory stromal tissues deconstruction.As a specialized inflammatory pathological process,dental internal resorption(IR)includes both soft and hard tissues deconstruction within the dentin-pulp complex,which has been one of the main reasons for inflammatory tooth loss.Mechanisms of inflammatory matrix degradation and tissue resorption in IR are largely unclear.In this study,we used a combination of Cre-loxP reporter,flow cytometry,cell transplantation,and enzyme activities assay to mechanistically investigate the role of regenerative cells,odontoblasts(ODs),in inflammatory mineral resorption and matrices degradation.We report that inflamed ODs have strong capabilities of matrix degradation and tissue resorption.Traditionally,ODs are regarded as hard-tissue regenerative cells;however,our data unexpectedly present ODs as a crucial population that participates in IR-associated tissue deconstruction.Specifically,we uncovered that nuclear factor-kappa b(NF-κB)signaling orchestrated Tumor necrosis factorα(TNF-α)-induced matrix metalloproteinases(Mmps)and Cathepsin K(Ctsk)functions in ODs to enhance matrix degradation and tissue resorption.Furthermore,TNF-αincreases Rankl/Opg ratio in ODs via NF-κB signaling by impairing Opg expression but increasing Rankl level,which utterly makes ODs cell line 17IIA11(A11)become Trap^(+) and Ctsk^(+) multinucleated cells to perform resorptive actions.Blocking of NF-κB signaling significantly rescues matrix degradation and resorptive functions of inflamed ODs via repressing vital inflammatory proteinases Mmps and Ctsk.Utterly,via utilizing NF-κB specific small molecule inhibitors we satisfactorily attenuated inflammatory ODs-associated human dental IR in vivo.Our data reveal the underlying mechanisms of inflammatory matrix degradation and resorption via proteinase activities in IR-related pathological conditions. | Fanyuan Yu Fengli Huo Feifei Li Yanqin Zuo Chenglin Wang Ling Ye | 2022 | International Journal of Oral Science2022,14,1: | 1 |

| 20 | Tonian Tectonic-Strata Regions and their Geological Significance in China显示文摘The continent of China developed through the coalescence of three major cratons(North China, Tarim and Yangtze) and continental micro-blocks through the processes of oceanic crust disappearance and acceretionary-collision of continental crusts. The strata of the Chinese continental landmass are subdivided into 12 tectonic-strata regions. Based on the composition of geological features among the three main cratons, continental micro-blocks and other major global cratons, their affinities can be preliminarily deduced during the Tonian period, using evidence from sedimentary successions, paleobiogeography, tectonic and magmatic events. The Yangtze and Tarim cratons show that they have close affinities during the assembly-dispersal milestone of the Rodinia Supercontinent. The sedimentary record and magmatic age populations in the blocks suggest that there was a widespread, intensive magmatic event that resulted from a subduction process during ~1000–820 Ma, related to continental rifting around the Yangtze and Tarim cratons. However, they differ greatly from the North China Craton. The continental micro-blocks in the Panthalassic Ocean could have some missing connection with the North China Craton that persisted until the Middle-Late Devonian. In contrast, the Alxa Block showed a strong affinity with the Tarim Craton.
