| 4 | Cold Stress-induced Glucosyltransferase CsUGT78A15 is Involved in the Formation of Eugenol Glucoside in Camellia sinensis显示文摘Eugenol is a natural phenolic compound known for its health-promoting properties and its ability to add a floral scent to tea plants.Plant eugenol glycosides have been identified and shown to make important contributions to fruit floral quality.However,the details of their biosynthesis and metabolism in tea plants are still unknown.Here,eugenol glucoside was unambiguously identified as a native metabolite in the tea plant,and its biosynthesis was shown to be induced by low temperature treatment.Through the analysis of UGTs induced by low temperature,the glycosyltransferase CsUGT78A15 was identified in tea,and its encoded protein was shown to catalyze the glucosylation of eugenol.Vmax/Km ratios showed that eugenol was the most suitable substrate for CsUGT78A15.Sugar donor preference analysis showed that CsUGT78A15 had a higher selectivity for glucose,followed by galactose and glucuronic acid.The expression of CsUGT78A15was correlatedwith the accumulation of eugenol glucoside in different tissues and genotypes of tea.Down-regulation of CsUGT78A15 led to a decreased eugenol glucoside content under cold stress,indicating that CsUGT78A15 plays an important role in the biosynthesis of eugenol glucoside under cold stress.The identification of eugenol glucoside in the tea plant and the discovery of a cold stress-induced eugenol glucosyltransferase in tea provide the foundation for the improvement of tea flavor under cold stress and the biotechnological production of eugenol glucoside. | Mingyue Zhao Binbin Cai Jieyang Jin Na Zhang Tingting Jing Jingming Wang Yuting Pan Zixiang Zhou Yifan Zhao Yingying Feng Feng Yu Mengting Zhang Yating Li Zhonghua Liu Chuankui Song | 2020 | Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,6: | 4 |

| 12 | Inheritance Analysis of Bolting Associated Traits Using Mixed Major Gene Plus Polygene Model in Brassica rapa显示文摘[Objective] This study aimed to analyze the inheritance of bolting associated traits in Brassica rapa,which will provide useful information in a breeding program for late-bolting or bolting-resistant cultivars of Chinese cabbage.[Method] Three phenotypic measurements,bolting index,flowering time,days to 5 cm elongated stalk,respectively were used for inheritance analysis of six generations,P1(bolting resistant inbreed line),P2(vernalization independent type) and their filial generations F1,B1,B2and F2,using the mixed major-gene plus polygene inheritance model.[Result] The two traits,bolting index and days to 5 cm elongated stalk,both were controlled by two major genes with additive-dominant-epistatic effects( B-1 model) in hybrid. The flowering time was controlled by one major gene with additive-dominant effects plus additive-dominant-epistatic effects( D model). The heritability of the major genes in B1,B2and F2were 96. 22%,93. 33%,93. 55% for bolting index,70. 68%,70. 68%,70. 64% for flowering time,79. 44%,79. 55%,79. 38% for days to 5-cm elongated stalk,respectively,but no polygene heritability was detected in B1,B2and F2generation. It indicated that the bolting trait in Brassica rapa was controlled by one or tow major genes.[Conclusion] This implied that in the genetic improvement for bolting resistant trait major gene was a main factor. | 16 | A unified model of cusp spot, High Latitude Dayside aurora (HiLDA)/(Space Hurricane), and 15MLT-PCA显示文摘Cusp spot,High Latitude Dayside aurora(HiLDA),‘space hurricane’,and 15MLT-PCA(Polar Cap Arc observed around 15:00 Magnetic Local Time)are mesoscale auroral structures observed in the polar cap region.They share many common properties and,at the same time,have notable differences.A 15MLT-PCA is a polar cap arc connected to the auroral oval,but the others are auroral spots detached from the oval.A cusp spot differs from a HiLDA in local time location.A space hurricane differs from a HiLDA in having spiral-arm structures.Until now,relationships among these auroras have not been depicted clearly.Here we propose a unified model,based on lobe reconnection,that encompasses their similarities and differences.We then provide critical supporting evidence for the model.The model suggests that different reconnection sites under different IMF conditions result in these differently-appearing auroral forms.The model explains all the characteristic features of these auroras and has implications for understanding the dawn/dusk and inter-hemispheric asymmetries observed in their occurrence patterns.We anticipate confirmation of the model by observations to be made during the Solar wind-Magnetosphere-Ionosphere Link Explorer(SMILE)mission.Moreover,since the model indicates that these auroras appear on the footprint of the poleward cusp boundary,we expect data from the SMILE mission to make it possible to estimate the approximate shape of the cusp. | DeSheng Han YaTing Xiong Run Shi HuiXuan Qiu HuiTing Feng | 2023 | Earth and Planetary Physics2023,7,4: | 0 |

| 18 | QTL Mapping of Vernalization Requirement in Brassica rapa显示文摘An F2 population,derived from a cross between the vernalization independent genotype‘Rc Br'and the vernalization dependent genotype‘08A061',was developed to construct a linkage map with 165 SSR and In Del markers. QTL analysis was performed by two phenotypic evaluation( days to 5 cm elongate stalk and flowering time) based on the difference in F2: 3families under vernalization and no vernalization. The results showed that the vernalization requirement was recessive in Brassica rapa. Seven QTLs that controlled vernalization requirement were detected on A02 and A06 linkage groups,which explained phenotypic variation ranging from 0. 08% to 22. 52%. Two QTLs( VR-DE01,VR-FT01) were detected on the top of A02,which explained 22. 52% and 14. 54% of the phenotypic variation,respectively,and closely linked with Br FLC2 gene. Two QTLs( VR-DE03,VR-DE04) were detected on A06 with 13. 30% and 13. 64% of phenotypic variation.
