1Apatite Fission Track Evidence of Uplift Cooling in the Qiangtang Basin and Constraints on the Tibetan Plateau Uplift显示文摘The Qiangtang basin is located in the central Tibetan Plateau. This basin has an important structural position,and further study of its tectonic and thermal histories has great significance for understanding the evolution of the Tibetan Plateau and the hydrocarbon potential of marine carbonates in the basin. This study focuses on low temperature thermochronology and in particular conducted apatite fission track analysis. Under constraints provided by the geological background,the thermal history in different tectonic units is characterized by the degree of annealing of samples,and the timing of major(uplift-erosion related) cooling episodes is inferred. The cooling history in the Qiangtang basin can be divided into two distinct episodes. The first stage is mainly from the late Early Cretaceous to the Late Cretaceous(69.8 Ma to 108.7 Ma),while the second is mainly from the MiddleLate Eocene to the late Miocene(10.3 Ma to 44.4 Ma). The first cooling episode records the uplift of strata in the central Qiangtang basin caused by continued convergent extrusion after the BangongNujiang ocean closed. The second episode can be further divided into three periods,which are respectively 10.3 Ma,22.6–26.1 Ma and 30.8–44.4 Ma. The late Oligocene-early Miocene(22.6–26.1 Ma) is the main cooling period. The distribution and times of the earlier uplift-related cooling show that the effect of extrusion after the collision between Eurasian plate and India plate obviously influenced the Qiangtang basin at 44.4 Ma. The Qiangtang basin underwent compression and started to be uplifted from the middle-late Eocene to the early Oligocene(45.0–30.8 Ma). Subsequently,a large-scale and intensive uplift process occurred during the late Oligocene to early Miocene(26.1–22.6 Ma) and the basin continued to undergo compression and uplift up to the late Miocene(10.3 Ma). Thus,uplift-erosion in the Qiangtang basin was intensive from 44.5 Ma to about 10 Ma. The timing of cooling in the second episode shows that the uplift of the Qiangtang basin was caused by the strong compression after the collision of the Indian plate and Eurasian plate. On the whole,the new apatite fission-track data from the Qiangtang basin show that the Tibetan Plateau started to extrude and uplift during 45–30.8 Ma. 2The study on the safety and efficacy of amnion graft for preventing the recurrence of moderate to severe intrauterine adhesions显示文摘Transcervical resection of adhesion(TCRA)is the standard treatment for the intrauterine adhesions,but the recurrence of adhesions is a tough problem for the gynecologist.In addition,the therapeutic strategy after TCRA about prevention of recurrence remains controversial especially for the patients with moderate to severe intrauterine adhesions(IUAs).Hence,we designed this study to explore the safety and efficacy of fresh amnion grafts for preventing the recurrence after TCRA for patients with moderate to severe IUAs.One hundred patients with moderate to severe IUAs who presented with a history of hypomenorrhea,amenorrhea and infertility were included in the study from January 2015 to December 2017.Patients were divided into amnion group(52 patients)and chitosan group(48 patients).Fresh amnion grafts or intrauterine injections of chitosan were administered after TCRA.Transvaginal ultrasonography(TVUS)and hysteroscopy were performed at the first and third month after the operation.The surgical procedures for all patients were completed successfully without relevant complications.In amnion group,8 patients exhibited relapse in the first month and 2 patients in three months after surgery;in chitosan group,23 women exhibited relapse in the first month and 18 patients in three months after surgery.Statistical analysis revealed that the recurrence rate of adhesion in amnion group was significantly lower than those of chitosan group in the first and three months after surgery(P1=0.000,P2=0.000).After TCRA,fresh amnion graft plays a significant role in preventing further adhesions than injections of chitosan.Changjiang Li Aiqi Cai Congcong Sun Benyuan Wu Xinpei Chen Yanhua Mao Yingfeng Zhang Yating Gou Jie Yu Yuhan Wang Huanhuan Yu Jia Wang 2020Genes & Diseases2020,7,2:11
3Terahertz metasurface zone plates with arbitrary polarizations to a fixed polarization conversion显示文摘Metasurfaces that can realize the polarization manipulation of electromagnetic waves on the sub-wavelength scale have become an emerging research field.Here,a novel strategy of combining the metasurface and Fresnel zone plate to form a metasurface zone plate is proposed to realize the conversion from nearly arbitrary polarizations to a fixed polarization.Specifically,when one polarized wave is incident on adjacent ring zones constructed by different types of meta-atoms,the transmitted waves generated by odd-numbered and even-numbered ring zones converge at the same focus and superimpose to generate a fixed polarized wave.As function demonstrations,we have designed two types of metasurface zone plates:one is a focused linear polarizer,and the other can convert nearly arbitrary polarized waves into focused circularly polarized waves.The simulated and measured results are consistent with theoretical expectations,suggesting that the proposed concept is flexible and feasible.Our work provides an alternative platform for polarization manipulation and may vigorously promote the development of polarization photonic devices.Zhen Yue Jitao Li Jie Li Chenglong Zheng Jingyu Liu Guocui Wang Hang Xu Mingyang Chen Yating Zhang Yan Zhang Jianquan Yao 2022Opto-Electronic Science2022,1,3:9
4Tectonothermal Records in Migmatite-Like Rocks of the Guandi Complex in Zhoukoudian, Beijing: Implications for Late Neoarchean to Proterozoic Tectonics of the North China Craton显示文摘Migmatite-like rocks transformed from strongly metamorphosed and deformed enclavebearing felsic plutons usually make people confuse with the true migmatites and mistake in interpretation of their petrogenesis and tectonic implications. Here we report a suite of rocks that have long been called as migmatites from the Guandi complex in Zhoukoudian region, southwest of Beijing. The rocks are dominated by felsic gneisses with garnet-free amphibolites. Field occurrence, petrography and geochemistry indicate that the felsic gneisses and amphibolites were metamorphosed from protoliths of intermediate-acid and basic igneous rocks, respectively. New LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating and geothermobarometry study further reveal that precursor magmas of the two types of rocks were emplaced at 2.54–2.56 Ga and the rocks subsequently underwent medium P/T-type metamorphism with upper amphibolite facies conditions of 0.55–0.90 GPa and 670–730 ℃ at ~2.48–2.50 Ga. Geochemically, precursor magmas of the amphibolites were suggested to be derived from an enriched lithospheric mantle source in continental arc setting, and those of the felsic gneisses are characterized by tonalitic to trondhjemitic magmas that are usually considered to be generated by partial melting of hydrated, thickened metamorphosed mafic crust with garnet as residues, suggesting that the rock associations are not of true migmatites but migmatite-like rocks. 5Genome Editing as A Versatile Tool to Improve Horticultural Crop Qualities显示文摘The quality traits of horticultural crops,including the accumulation of nutrients and flavor substances,morphology,and texture,affect the palatability and nutritional value.For many years,efforts have been made to improve the quality of horticultural crops.The recent establishment of gene editing technology,with its potential applications in horticultural crops,provides a strategy for achieving this goal in a rapid and efficient manner.Here,we summarize research efforts aimed at improving horticultural crop quality through genome editing.We describe specific genome editing systems that have been used and traits that have been targeted in these efforts.Additionally,we discuss limiting factors and future perspectives of genome editing technology in improving horticultural crop qualities in both research and plant breeding.In summary,genome editing technology is emerging as a powerful tool for efficiently and rapidly improving horticultural crop quality,and we believe that the cautious application of genome editing in horticultural crops will generate new germplasms with improved quality in the near future.Yating Chen Wenwen Mao Ting Liu Qianqian Feng Li Li Bingbing Li 2020Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,6:5
6Numerical study of three phase shifts and dual corrugation pitch modulated(CPM) DFB semiconductor lasers based on reconstruction equivalent chirp technology显示文摘A distributed feedback(DFB) semiconductor laser with three phase shifts based on reconstruction equivalent chirp(REC) technology is proposed and investigated numerically.With the combination of multiple phase shifts and corrugation pitch modulated(CPM) structure,we also propose a novel and more complex structure named dual CPM,which has a flatter light power distribution along the laser cavity compared with the true double phase shifts DFB laser diode(LD),while the P-I curves are nearly the same.The proposed dual CPM structure is also designed and analyzed based on REC technology.The simulation results show that,the DFB semiconductor laser with complex structure such as phase shifts,or even arbitrary variation of the grating period can be achieved equivalently and easily by changing the sampling structure.But its external characteristics are almost the same as those DFB lasers with true phase shifts,or true arbitrary variation of the grating period.The key advantage of the REC technology is that it varies only the sampling structure and keeps the seed grating(actual grating in sampling structure) period constant.So its fabrication needs only low-cost and standard holographic exposure technology.Therefore we believe this method can achieve the high-end and low-cost DFB LD for mass production.SHI YueChun TU XingHua LI SiMin ZHOU YaTing JIA LingHui CHEN XiangFei 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,35:4

8Ultraviolet-to-microwave room-temperature photodetectors based on three-dimensional graphene foams显示文摘Highly sensitive broadband photodetection is of critical importance for many applications.However,it is a great challenge to realize broadband photodetection by using a single device.Here we report photodetectors(PDs)based on three-dimensional(3 D)graphene foam(GF)photodiodes with asymmetric electrodes,which show an ultra-broadband photoresponse from ultraviolet to microwave for wavelengths ranging from 10~2 to 10~6 nm.Moreover,the devices exhibit a high photoresponsivity of 10~3 A·W^-1,short response time of 43 ms,and3 d B bandwidth of 80 Hz.The high performance of the devices can be attributed to the photothermoelectric(PTE,also known as the Seebeck)effect in 3 D GF photodiodes.The excellent optical,thermal,and electrical properties of 3 D GFs offer a superior basis for the fabrication of PTE-based PDs.This work paves the way to realize ultra-broadband and high-sensitivity PDs operated at room temperature.YIFAN LI YATING ZHANG YU YU ZHILIANG CHEN QINGYAN LI TENGTENG LI JIE LI HONGLIANG ZHAO QUAN SHENG FENG YAN ZHEN GE YUXIN REN YONGSHENG CHEN JIANQUAN YAO 2020Photonics Research2020,8,3:4
9Direct site-specific treatment of skin cancer using doxorubicin-loaded nanofibrous membranes显示文摘Doxorubicin(DOX) is widely used in cancer therapy. However, its application is sometimes limited by its adverse cardiotoxicity and delivery pathways. In our study, we prepared a topical implantable delivery device for controlled drug release and site-specific treatment. The core region consisted of poly(lactic co-glycolic acid) and poly-caprolactone, whereas the shell region was composed of cross-linked gelatin.DOX was enclosed in the core region of a core-shell nanofiber obtained by electrospinning. This implantable delivery device was implanted on the top of the melanoma in a mouse model, which had shown a DOX-controlled release profile with sustained and sufficient local concentration against melanoma growth in mice with negligible side effects. Compared with the traditional intravenous administration,the implantable device allows precisely localized treatment and therefore can reduce the dose, decrease the injection frequency, and ensure antitumor efficacy associated with lower side effects to normal tissues. 10Directly modulated quantum dot lasers on silicon with a milliampere threshold and high temperature stability显示文摘Microring lasers feature ultralow thresholds and inherent wavelength-division multiplexing functionalities, offering an attractive approach to miniaturizing photonics in a compact area. Here, we present static and dynamic properties of microring quantum dot lasers grown directly on exact(001) GaP/Si. Effectively, a single-mode operation was observed at 1.3 μm with modes at spectrally distant locations. High temperature stability with T_0~103 K has been achieved with a low threshold of 3 mA for microrings with an outer ring radius of 15 μm and a ring waveguide width of 4 μm. Small signal modulation responses were measured for the first time for the microrings directly grown on silicon, and a 3 dB bandwidth of 6.5 GHz was achieved for a larger ring with an outer ring radius of 50 μm and a ring waveguide width of 4 μm. 11Coordinating an Extended Warranty Supply Chain under Increasing,Constant and Decreasing Product Failure Rates显示文摘A product typically exhibits three different failure rates across its lifetime:increasing,decreasing,or constant.This paper studies how the characteristics of failure rate impact the supply chain coordination for an extended warranty program involving a manufacturer and a retailer.A two-stage Stackelberg game is utilized to model the interaction between these two players.Two extended warranty channel structures are compared depending on whether the manufacturer or the retailer offers the warranty service.The analysis shows that the failure rate trend during the warranty period has different effects on the coordination of the service supply chain.When a product has an increasing or constant failure rate,the optimal length of extended warranty offered by the retailer is longer than that of the manufacturer,while the optimal length is shorter for a product with a decreasing failure rate.If a product during the warranty coverage has an increasing or constant failure rate,a longer extended warranty period will motivate customers to buy the product without the warranty,whereas more customers will buy both the product and the warranty if the product experiences a decreasing failure rate.It is concluded that,if the manufacturer and the retailer incur the same warranty service cost,the total profit in the supply chain is higher when the manufacturer offers the extended warranty.From the game participants'perspective,the one which sells the extended warranty will obtain more profit.Yuwen Chen Jin Qin Tongdan Jin Yating Chen 2020Journal of Systems Science and Systems Engineering2020,29,5:3
12A fault warning for inter-turn short circuit of excitation winding of synchronous generator based on GRU-CNN显示文摘Synchronous generators are important components of power systems and are necessary to maintain its normal and stable operation.To perform the fault diagnosis of mild inter-turn short circuit in the excitation winding of a synchronous generator,a gate recurrent unit-convolutional neural network(GRU-CNN)model whose structural parameters were determined by improved particle swarm optimization(IPSO)is proposed.The outputs of the model are the excitation current and reactive power.The total offset distance,which is the fusion of the offset distance of the excitation current and offset distance of the reactive power,was selected as the fault judgment criterion.The fusion weights of the excitation current and reactive power were determined using the anti-entropy weighting method.The fault-warning threshold and fault-warning ratio were set according to the normal total offset distance,and the fault warning time was set according to the actual situation.The fault-warning time and fault-warning ratio were used to avoid misdiagnosis.The proposed method was verified experimentally.Junqing Li Jing Liu Yating Chen 2022Global Energy Interconnection2022,5,2:3
13Self-powered,flexible,and ultrabroadband ultraviolet-terahertz photodetector based on a laser-reduced graphene oxide/CsPbBr3 composite显示文摘Self-powered and flexible ultrabroadband photodetectors(PDs)are desirable in a wide range of applications.The current PDs based on the photothermoelectric(PTE)effect have realized broadband photodetection.However,most of them express low photoresponse and lack of flexibility.In this work,high-performance,self-powered,and flexible PTE PDs based on laser-scribed reduced graphene oxide(LSG)∕CsPbBr3 are developed.The comparison experiment with LSG PD and fundamental electric properties show that the LSG∕CsPbBr3 device exhibits enhanced ultrabroadband photodetection performance covering ultraviolet to terahertz range with high photoresponsivity of 100 mA/W for 405 nm and 10 mA/W for 118μm at zero bias voltage,respectively.A response time of 18 ms and flexible experiment are also acquired at room temperature.Moreover,the PTE effect is fully discussed in the LSG∕CsPbBr3 device.This work demonstrates that LSG∕CsPbBr3 is a promising candidate for the construction of high-performance,flexible,and self-powered ultrabroadband PDs at room temperature.YIFAN LI YATING ZHANG ZHILIANG CHEN QINGYAN LI TENGTENG LI MENGYAO LIHONGLIANG ZHAO QUAN SHENG WEI SHI JIANQUAN YAO 2020Photonics Research2020,8,8:3
14Concentration of circulating microparticles:a new biomarker of acute heart failure after cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass显示文摘Acute heart failure(AHF)is a severe complication after cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB).Although some AHF biomarkers have been used in clinic,they have limitations when applied in the prediction and diagnosis of AHF after cardiac surgery with CPB,and there are still no effective and specific biomarkers.We and other researchers have shown that circulating microparticles(MPs)increased in a variety of cardiovascular diseases.However,whether the concentration of circulating MPs could be a new biomarker for AHF after cardiac surgery remains unknown.Here,90 patients undergoing cardiac surgery with CPB and 45 healthy subjects were enrolled.Patients were assigned into AHF(n=14)or non-AHF(n=76)group according to the diagnosis criteria of AHF.The concentrations of circulating MPs were determined before,as well as 12 h and 3 days after operation with nanoparticle tracking analysis technique.MPs concentrations in patients before surgery were significantly higher than those of healthy subjects.Plasma levels of MPs were significantly elevated at 12 h after surgery in patients with AHF,but not in those without AHF,and the circulating MPs concentrations at 12 h after surgery were higher in AHF group compared with non-AHF group.Logistic regression analysis indicated that MPs concentration at postoperative 12 h was an independent risk factor for AHF.The area under receiver operating characteristic curve for MPs concentration at postoperative 12 h was 0.87 and the best cut-off value is 5.20×10~8 particles mL~(–1)with a sensitivity of 93%and a specificity of 70%.These data suggested that the concentration of circulating MPs might be a new biomarker for the occurrence of AHF after cardiac surgery with CPB.Yuquan Li Haoxiang Yuan Caiyun Chen Chao Chen Jian Ma Yating Chen Yan Li Yupeng Jian Donghong Liu Zhijun Ou Jingsong Ou 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,1:3
15Telomerase Activity in Condyloma Acuminatum Tissue with Different HPV Types显示文摘Summary: The telomerse activity in condyloma acuminatum (CA) tissue with human papillomavirus (HPV) types of 6/11 and 16/18 was detected to investigate the function of telomerase in the occurrence, development and carcinogenesis of genital CA. Forty-two biopsies from patients with gennital CA and 30 control tissue samples were tested for telomerase activity, HPV presence and types. The telomerase activity was determined by modified telomerase repeat amplification protocol (TRAP) assay and HPV typing by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with typing-specific primers. Results showed that HPV-DNA was negative and the expression rate of telomerase was 16.7 % in all normal skin samples. All CA samples were positive for HPV (6/11 type was found in 32 cases, 16/18 in 3 and mixed type in 7). Telomerase activity was detectable in all CA patients. The telomerase activity in CA of 16/18 type was apparently higher than in CA of 6/11 type. 16Extracellular histones stimulate collagen expression in vitro and promote liver fibrogenesis in a mouse model via the TLR4-MyD88 signaling pathway显示文摘BACKGROUND Liver fibrosis progressing to liver cirrhosis and hepatic carcinoma is very common and causes more than one million deaths annually.Fibrosis develops from recurrent liver injury but the molecular mechanisms are not fully understood.Recently,the TLR4-MyD88 signaling pathway has been reported to contribute to fibrosis.Extracellular histones are ligands of TLR4 but their roles in liver fibrosis have not been investigated.AIM To investigate the roles and potential mechanisms of extracellular histones in liver fibrosis.METHODS In vitro,LX2 human hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)were treated with histones in the presence or absence of non-anticoagulant heparin(NAHP)for neutralizing histones or TLR4-blocking antibody.The resultant cellular expression of collagen I was detected using western blotting and immunofluorescent staining.In vivo,the CCl4-induced liver fibrosis model was generated in male 6-week-old ICR mice and in TLR4 or MyD88 knockout and parental mice.Circulating histones were detected and the effect of NAHP was evaluated.RESULTS Extracellular histones strongly stimulated LX2 cells to produce collagen I.Histone-enhanced collagen expression was significantly reduced by NAHP and TLR4-blocking antibody.In CCl4-treated wild type mice,circulating histones were dramatically increased and maintained high levels during the duration of fibrosisinduction.Injection of NAHP not only reduced alanine aminotransferase and liver injury scores,but also significantly reduced fibrogenesis.Since the TLR4-blocking antibody reduced histone-enhanced collagen I production in HSC,the CCl4 model with TLR4 and MyD88 knockout mice was used to demonstrate the roles of the TLR4-MyD88 signaling pathway in CCl4-induced liver fibrosis.The levels of liver fibrosis were indeed significantly reduced in knockout mice compared to wild type parental mice.CONCLUSION Extracellular histones potentially enhance fibrogenesis via the TLR4–MyD88 signaling pathway and NAHP has therapeutic potential by detoxifying extracellular histones.Zhi Wang Zhen-Xing Cheng Simon T Abrams Zi-Qi Lin ED Yates Qian Yu Wei-Ping Yu Ping-Sheng Chen Cheng-Hock Toh Guo-Zheng Wang 2020World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,47:3
17Microaerobic Fe (Ⅱ) oxidation coupled to carbon assimilation processes driven by microbes from paddy soil显示文摘Microaerobic Fe(Ⅱ) oxidation process at neutral pH, driven by microbes can couple to carbon assimilation process in iron-rich freshwater and marine environments;however, few studies report such coupled processes in paddy soil of the critical zone in South China. In this study, rhizosphere soil from flooded paddy field was used as the inoculum to enrich the microaerophilic Fe(Ⅱ)-oxidizing bacteria(FeOB) in gradient tubes with different Fe(Ⅱ) substrates(FeS and FeCO_3) and ^(13)C-biocarbonate as inorganic carbon source to track the carbon assimilation. Kinetics of Fe(Ⅱ) oxidation and biomineralization were analyzed, and the composition and abundance of the microbial community were profiled using 16 S rRNA gene-based highthroughput sequencing. Results showed that microbial cell bands were formed 0.5–1.0 cm below the medium surface in the inoculated tubes with Fe(Ⅱ) substances, while no cell band was found in the non-inocula controls. The protein concentrations in the cell bands reached the highest values at 18.7–22.9 mg m^L(-1) on 6 d in the inocula tubes with Fe(Ⅱ) substrates. A plateau of the yields of ^(13)C-biocarbonate incorporation was observed during 6–15 d at 0.44–0.54% and 1.61–1.98% in the inocula tubes with FeS and FeCO_3, respectively. The inocula tube with FeS showed a higher Fe(Ⅱ) oxidation rate of 0.156 mmol L^(-1) d^(-1) than that with FeCO_3(0.106 mmol L^(-1) d^(-1)). Analyses of X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy revealed that amorphous iron oxide was formed on the surface of rod-shaped bacteria after Fe(Ⅱ) oxidation.Relative to the agar only control, the abundances of Clostridium and Pseudogulbenkiania increased in the inocula tube with FeS,while those of Vogesella, Magnetospirillum, Solitalea, and Oxalicibacterium increased in the inocula tube with FeCO_3, all of which might be the potential microaerophilic FeOB in paddy soil. 20A new electroplated Ir/Ir(OH)_x pH electrode and its application in the coastal areas of Newport Harbor, California显示文摘Resulting from the rising levels of atmospheric carbon, ocean acidification has become a global problem. It has significant impacts on the development, survival, growth and physiology of marine organisms. Therefore, a highprecision sensor is urgently needed to measure the pH of sea-water. Iridium wire with a diameter of 0.25 mm is used as the substrate, and an Ir/Ir(OH)_x pH electrode is prepared by a one-step electrochemical method in a Li OH solution at the room temperature. A scanning electron microscope(SEM) observation reveals that it is coated with nanoscale particles. In laboratory tests, the electrode exhibits a very promising pH response, with an ideal Nernst slope(56.14–59.52), fast response, good stability and long life-span in tested pH buffer solutions. For a sea trial,four pH electrodes and one Ag/Ag Cl reference electrode are integrated with a self-made chemical sensor, and a profile detection of nearly 70 m is implemented near Newport Harbor, California on August 3, 2015. The results reflect that the pH value measured by the sensor is very close to the data given by Sea-Bird 911 plus CTD, with a difference value ranging from 0.000 075 to 0.064 719. And the sensor shows a better data matching degree in 0–40m water depth.
