| 1 | A new dynamic pushback control method for reducing fuel-burn costs: Using predicted taxi-out time显示文摘Long departure-taxi-out time leads to significant airport surface congestion, fuel-burn costs, and excessive emissions of greenhouse gases. To reduce these undesirable effects, a Predicted taxi-out time-based Dynamic Pushback Control(PDPC) method is proposed. The implementation of this method requires two steps: first, the taxi-out times for aircraft are predicted by the leastsquares support-vector regression approach of which the parameters are optimized by an introduced improved Firefly algorithm. Then, a dynamic pushback control model equipped with a linear gate-hold penalty function is built, along with a proposed iterative taxiway queue-threshold optimization algorithm for solving the model. A case study with data obtained from Beijing International airport(PEK) is presented. The taxi-out time prediction model achieves predictive accuracy within 3 min and 5 min by 84.71% and 95.66%, respectively. The results of the proposed pushback method show that total operation cost and fuel-burn cost achieve a 14.0% and 21.1%reduction, respectively, as compared to the traditional K-control policy.(3) From the perspective of implementation, using PDPC policy can significantly reduce the queue length in taxiway and taxi-out time. The total operation cost and fuel-burn cost can be curtailed by 37.2% and 52.1%,respectively, as compared to the non-enforcement of any pushback control mechanism. | 2 | Accumulation and Output of Heavy Metals by the Invasive Plant Spartina alterniflora in a Coastal Salt Marsh显示文摘Spartina alterniflora is a foreign introduced species and has far-reaching effects on salt marsh ecosystems, particularly on the biogeochemical cycle of heavy metals. To ascertain whether the invasive plant Spartina alterniflora Loisel is a source of metals in the environment, we determined the bimonthly concentrations of heavy metals, chromium(Cr), lead(Pb), copper(Cu), zinc(Zn),and manganese(Mn), in the roots, stems, and leaves of S. alterniflora from a typical semidiurnal tidal zone in the coastal area of northern Jiangsu Province, China. Based on the measurements, we calculated annual metal primary accumulation and output. To calculate the annual output of heavy metals from S. alterniflora, a new method that calculates the annual rate of biomass loss and decomposition was developed. The annual primary accumulation of Cr, Pb, Cu, Zn, and Mn was 19.08, 84.19, 63.74, 442.58, and774.66 mg m^(-2), respectively, and the annual output from S. alterniflora to the surrounding environment was 4.01, 18.09, 14.00, 97.11,and 164.28 mg m^(-2), respectively. Spartina alterniflora only provides temporary storage, and its absorption of heavy metals could be used to remediate contaminated soil and for phytomining. The heavy metals released by S. alterniflora to the environment cannot be ignored; thus, S. alterniflora should be considered a source of metal contamination. | 4 | First principle calculation of lithiation/delithiation voltage in Li-ion battery materials显示文摘A first principle method, based on the density functional theory, was used to investigate the average voltage of lithiation/delithiation for Li-ion battery materials across 7 categories and 18 series, including LiMO 2 , LiMn 2 O 4 , LiMPO 4 , Li 2 MSiO 4 and graphite. The average voltage of lithiation/delithiation in the relevant electrode materials was obtained by comparing the total-energy difference, before and after an electrochemical reaction. The calculated values were in good agreement with experimental data. The systematic difference between the simulated and experimental values could be explained in terms of the binding energy on the surface of the lithium electrode. | 6 | Identification of liver metastasis-associated genes in human colon carcinoma by mRNA profiling显示文摘Objective: Liver metastasis,which contributes substantially to high mortality,is the most common recurrent mode of colon carcinoma.Thus,it is necessary to identify genes implicated in metastatic colonization of the liver in colon carcinoma.Methods: We compared mRNA profiling in 18 normal colon mucosa(N),20 primary tumors(T) and 19 liver metastases(M) samples from the dataset GSE49355 and GSE62321 of Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO) database.Gene ontology(GO) and pathways of the identified genes were analyzed.Co-expression network and proteinprotein interaction(PPI) network were employed to identify the interaction relationship.Survival analyses based on The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA) database were used to further screening.Then,the candidate genes were validated by our data.Results: We identified 22 specific genes related to liver metastasis and they were strongly associated with cell migration,adhesion,proliferation and immune response.Simultaneously,the results showed that C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 14(CXCL14) might be a favorable prediction factor for survival of patients with colon carcinoma.Importantly,our validated data further suggested that lower CXCL14 represented poorer outcome and contributed to metastasis.Gene set enrichment analysis(GSEA) showed that CXCL14 was negatively related to the regulation of stem cell proliferation and epithelial to mesenchymal transition(EMT).Conclusions: CXCL14 was identified as a crucial anti-metastasis regulator of colon carcinoma for the first time,and might provide novel therapeutic strategies for colon carcinoma patients to improve prognosis and prevent metastasis. | Jianling Liu Dan Wang Chaoqi Zhang Zhen Zhang Xinfeng Chen Jingyao Lian Jinbo Liu Guixian Wang Weitang Yuan Zhenqiang Sun Weijia Wang Mengjia Song Yaping Wang Qian Wu Ling Cao Dong Wang Yi Zhang | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,6: | 1 |

Here we report a highly reactive Michael-type warhead for the covalently modification of cysteine on peptide and protein. By installing a vinyl group onto a methionine residue of peptide,the produced vinyl sulfonium can be efficiently nucleophilic added by appropriate cysteine residue of this peptide, and thus yield a cyclized peptide. This peptide cyclization strategy was proven to exhibit improved cell penetration and good stability.
