1Characteristics of Boundary Layer Structure during a Persistent Haze Event in the Central Liaoning City Cluster, Northeast China显示文摘The characteristics of boundary layer structure during a persistent regional haze event over the central Liaoning city cluster of Northeast China from 16 to 21 December 2016 were investigated based on the measurements of particulate matter(PM) concentration and the meteorological data within the atmospheric boundary layer(ABL). During the observational period, the maximum hourly mean PM_(2.5) and PM10 concentrations in Shenyang, Anshan, Fushun, and Benxi ranged from 276 to 355 μg m–3 and from 378 to 442 μg m–3, respectively, and the lowest hourly mean atmospheric visibility(VIS) in different cities ranged from 0.14 to 0.64 km. The central Liaoning city cluster was located in the front of a slowly moving high pressure and was mainly controlled by southerly winds. Wind speed(WS) within the ABL(< 2 km) decreased significantly and WS at 10-m height mostly remained below 2 m s–1 during the hazy episodes, which was favorable for the accumulation of air pollutants. A potential temperature inversion layer existed throughout the entire ABL during the earlier hazy episode [from 0500 Local Time(LT) 18 December to 1100 LT 19 December], and then a potential temperature inversion layer developed with the bottom gradually decreased from 900 m to 300 m. Such a stable atmospheric stratification further weakened pollutant dispersion. The atmospheric boundary layer height(ABLH) estimated based on potential temperature profiles was mostly lower than 400 m and varied oppositely with PM_(2.5) in Shenyang. 2Comparison of Two Air Pollution Episodes over Northeast China in Winter 2016/17 Using Ground-Based Lidar显示文摘This study analyzes and compares aerosol properties and meteorological conditions during two air pollution episodes in 19–22(E1) and 25–26(E2) December 2016 in Northeast China. The visibility, particulate matter(PM) mass concentration, and surface meteorological observations were examined, together with the planetary boundary layer(PBL) properties and vertical profiles of aerosol extinction coefficient and volume depolarization ratio that were measured by a ground-based lidar in Shenyang of Liaoning Province, China during December 2016–January 2017.Results suggest that the low PBL height led to poor pollution dilution in E1, while the high PBL accompanied by low visibility in E2 might have been due to cross-regional and vertical air transmission. The PM mass concentration decreased as the PBL height increased in E1 while these two variables were positively correlated in E2. The enhanced winds in E2 diffused the pollutants and contributed largely to the aerosol transport. Strong temperature inversion in E1 resulted in increased PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations, and the winds in E2 favoured the southwesterly transport of aerosols from the North China Plain into the region surrounding Shenyang. The large extinction coefficient was partially attributed to the local pollution under the low PBL with high ground-surface PM mass concentrations in E1,whereas the cross-regional transport of aerosols within a high PBL and the low PM mass concentration near the ground in E2 were associated with severe aerosol extinction at high altitudes. 3Hybrid nano-scale Au with ITO structure for a high-performance near-infrared silicon-based photodetector with ultralow dark current显示文摘An internal photoemission-based silicon photodetector detects light below the silicon bandgap at room temperature and can exhibit spectrally broad behavior,making it potentially suited to meet the need for a near-infrared pure Si photodetector.In this work,the implementation of a thin Au insertion layer into an ITO/n-Si Schottky photodetector can profoundly affect the barrier height and significantly improve the device performance.By fabricating a nanoscale thin Au layer and an ITO electrode on a silicon substrate,we achieve a well-behaved ITO/Au/n-Si Schottky diode with a record dark current density of 3.7×10^(−7) A/cm^(2) at−1 V and a high rectification ratio of 1.5×10^(8) at±1 V.Furthermore,the responsivity has been obviously improved without sacrificing the dark current performance of the device by decreasing the Au thickness.Such a silicon-based photodetector with an enhanced performance could be a promising strategy for the realization of a monolithic integrated pure silicon photodetector in optical communication.Xinxin Li Zhen Deng Jun Li Yangfeng Li Linbao Guo Yang Jiang Ziguang Ma Lu Wang Chunhua Du Ying Wang Qingbo Meng Haiqiang Jia Wenxin Wang Wuming Liu Hong Chen 2020Photonics Research2020,8,11:4
4Atmospheric extinction properties in Shenyang,China显示文摘Atmospheric visibility impairment due to human activities is becoming increasingly significant in metropolitan Shenyang,China.In this study,hourly data of relevant factors throughout the year 2010 in Shenyang were used to evaluate the local atmospheric extinction properties.The results show that the average coefficient of total extinction and aerosol single-scattering albedo in 2010 were 622.72 Mm^(-1)and 0.87,respectively,values that are characteristic of the 'municipal pollution type'.Visibility is most impaired during winter and especially in January.The coefficient of total extinction exhibits a single daily cycle with a maximum at 5-6 am and a minimum at 3 pm.The mean extinction contributions of the constituents,from high to low,were particle scattering(87.49%),particle absorption,gas absorption,and gas scattering.The extinction contribution of gas molecules was little more than 4.5%,far smaller than that of particles.Scattering by particles was the main contributor to extinction,especially in the morning and around midnight.Ningwei Liu Yanjun Ma Jianzhong Ma Yangfeng Wang Suying Yang Liguang Li 2015Particuology2015,13,1:3

7Crosslinking and functionalization of acellular patches via the self-assembly of copper@tea polyphenol nanoparticles显示文摘Decellularization is a promising technique to produce natural scaffolds for tissue engineering applications.However,non-crosslinked natural scaffolds disfavor application in cardiovascular surgery due to poor biomechanics and rapid degradation.Herein,we proposed a green strategy to crosslink and functionalize acellular scaffolds via the self-assembly of copper@tea polyphenol nanoparticles(Cu@TP NPs),and the resultant nanocomposite acellular scaffolds were named as Cu@TP-dBPs.The crosslinking degree,biomechanics,denaturation temperature and resistance to enzymatic degradation of Cu@TP-dBPs were comparable to those of glutaraldehyde crosslinked decellularized bovine pericardias(Glut-dBPs).Furthermore,Cu@TP-dBPs were biocompatible and had abilities to inhibit bacterial growth and promote the formation of capillary-like networks.Subcutaneous implantation models demonstrated that Cu@TP-dBPs were free of calcification and allowed for host cell infiltration at Day 21.Cardiac patch graft models confirmed that Cu@TP-dBP patches showed improved ingrowth of functional blood vessels and remodeling of extracellular matrix at Day 60.These results suggested that Cu@TP-dBPs not only had comparable biomechanics and biostability to Glut-dBPs,but also had several advantages over Glut-dBPs in terms of anticalcification,remodeling and integration capabilities.Particularly,they were functional patches possessing antibacterial and proangiogenic activities.Thesematerial properties and biological functionsmade Cu@TP-dBPs a promising functional acellular patch for cardiovascular applications.Qin Li Yuan Gao Jiajun Zhang Yangfeng Tang Yangyong Sun Lujia Wu Hao Wu Meifang Shen Xiaohong Liu Lin Han Zhiyun Xu 2022Regenerative Biomaterials2022,9,1:1

13An intravascular needle coated by ZnO nanoflowers for in vivo elimination of circulating tumor cells显示文摘Circulating tumor cells(CTCs)are recognized as the main source of tumor recurrence and metastasis.Eliminating the CTCs in peripheral blood provides a new strategy to reduce the probability of recurrence or metastasis.Here,we proposed a concept to eliminate CTCs by inserting a needle in the superficial blood vessel.Using the property of ZnO and the structure of nanoflowers,we designed a medical needle coated with ZnO nanoflowers(ZNFs),which killed about 90%of captured CTCs in vitro and prevented the injecting CTCs from spreading to lung tissue in BABL/c mouse model.Results in vitro and in vivo demonstrated that the CTCs not only were captured and killed,but also detached from the needle surface after dead,enabling the ZNFs needle continually eliminate CTCs.Furthermore,a theoretical model was presented to explain the penetration mechanism of cells by nanostructures,which indicated that nanoflowers structure can puncture CTCs more easily than vertical nanowire structure.The concept of inserting an intravascular needle provides a potential strategy to lower the concentration of CTCs in blood and reduce the probability of tumor recurrence or metastasis.Jinqi Li Xinlei Li Yangfeng Zhang Kun Jin Ye Yuan Ruiqi Ming Yuhua Yang Tongsheng Chen 2023Nano Research2023,16,1:0

15Efficacy,safety,and cost-effectiveness of triple therapy in preventing relapse in rheumatoid arthritis:A randomized controlled trial(ESCoRT study)显示文摘Background:Biological agents,such as tumor necrosis factor inhibitors(TNFi),have been widely used in rheumatoid arthritis(RA)patients and greatly improved goal achievement.The aim of this study was to investigate whether conventional synthetic diseasemodifying anti-rheumatic drugs(csDMARDs)combination was better in reducing relapse than methotrexate(MTX)monotherapy,and more cost-effective than continuing TNFi plus MTX in RA patients who achieved low disease activity(LDA)with TNFi and MTX therapy.Methods:RA patients who failed to csDMARDs received an induction therapy of MTX plus TNFi for maximally 12 weeks.Those achieving LDA in 12 weeks were randomly assigned at a 1:1:1 ratio into three groups:(A)adding hydroxychloroquine and sulfasalazine for the first 12 weeks and then discontinuing TNFi for the following 48 weeks;(B)maintaining TNFi and MTX for 60 weeks;and(C)maintaining TNFi and MTX for the first 12 weeks and then discontinuing TNFi for the following 48 weeks.The primary outcome was relapse.Results:A total of 117 patients were enrolled for induction therapy and 67 patients who achieved LDA within 12 weeks were randomized,with 24,21,and 22 patients in groups A,B,and C,respectively.The relapse rates of groups A and B during the entire 60 weeks were comparable[10/22(45.5%)vs.7/20(35.0%),χ^(2)=0.475,P=0.491],however,significantly lower than that of group C[10/22(45.5%)vs.17/20(85.0%),χ^(2)=5.517,P=0.019;7/20(35.0%)vs.17/20(85.0%),χ^(2)=11.035,P=0.004,respectively].Taking RMB 100,000 Yuan as the threshold of willingness to pay,compared to MTX monotherapy(group C),both TNFi maintenance and triple csDMARDs therapies were cost-effective,but triple csDMARDs therapy was better.Conclusion:For RA patients who have achieved LDA with TNFi and MTX,csDMARDs triple therapy was a cost-effective option in favor of reducing relapse.Trial registration:ClinicalTrials.gov,NCT02320630.Juan Zhao Wei Zhou Yangfeng Wu Xiaoyan Yan Li Yang Zhuoli Zhang 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,135,18:0
16Second-generation DNA-encoded multiple display on a constant macrocyclic scaffold enabled by an orthogonal protecting group strategy显示文摘DNA-encoded chemical library(DEL)represents an emerging drug discovery technology to construct com-pound libraries with abundant chemical combinations.While drug-like small molecule DELs facilitate the discovery of binders against targets with defined pockets,macrocyclic DELs harboring extended scaffolds enable targeting of the protein–protein interaction(PPI)interface.We previously demonstrated the design of the first-generation DNA-encoded multiple display based on a constant macrocyclic scaffold,which harvested binders against difficult targets such as tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α).Here,we developed a novel strategy which utilized four orthogonal amine-protecting groups on DNA,to explore larger chem-ical combinations on the same constant macrocyclic scaffold,following the parallel paradigm to mimic the versatile antibody-like multivalent epitope recognition patterns.We successfully integrated these or-thogonal protecting groups with acylation and made a mock second-generation DNA-encoded display combination.This work illustrates a strategy to produce larger encoded multiple display on a constant macrocyclic scaffold,which could facilitate potential binder discovery with enhanced affinity to clinically significant PPI targets.Qigui Nie Shuting Zhong Yangfeng Li Gong Zhang Yizhou Li 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,5:0
17Multilevel air quality evolution in Shenyang:Impact of elevated point emission reduction显示文摘Visibility observed at different altitudes is favorable to understand the causes of air pol-lution.We conducted 4-years of observations of visibility at 2.8 and 60 m and particulate matter(PM)concentrations from 2015 to 2018 in Shenyang,a provincial city in Northeast China.The results indicated that visibility increased with the increasing height in winter(especially at night),and decreased with height in summer(especially at the daytime).PM concentration exhibited opposite vertical variation to visibility,reflecting that visibility de-grades with the increase of aerosol concentration in the air.The radiosonde meteorological data showed that weak turbulence in the planetary boundary layer(PBL)in winter favored aerosols'accumulation near the surface.Whereas in summer,unstable atmospheric con-ditions,upper-level moister environment,and regional transport of air pollutants resulted in the deterioration of upper-level visibility.Inter-annual variation in the two-level visibility indicated that the upper-level visibility improved more significantly than low-level visibil-ity,much likely due to the reduction in emission of elevated point sources in Shenyang.Our study suggested that strengthening the control of surface non-point emissions is a promis-ing control strategy to improve Shenyang air quality.Xiaolan Li Guiqian Tang Liguang Li Weijun Quan Yangfeng Wang Ziqi Zhao Ningwei Liu Ye Hong Yanjun Ma 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,3:0
