| 1 | Carbon-based supercapacitors for efficient energy storage显示文摘The advancement of modern electronic devices depends strongly on the highly efficient energy sources possessing high energy density and power density. In this regard, supercapacitors show great promise. Due to the unique hierarchical structure, excellent electrical and mechanical properties, and high specific surface area, carbon nanomaterials(particularly, carbon nanotubes, graphene, mesoporous carbon and their hybrids) have been widely investigated as efficient electrode materials in supercapacitors. This review article summarizes progress in high-performance supercapacitors based on carbon nanomaterials with an emphasis on the design and fabrication of electrode structures and elucidation of charge-storage mechanisms. | 3 | Climate and litter C/N ratio constrain soil organic carbon accumulation显示文摘Soil organic carbon(SOC) plays critical roles in stabilizing atmospheric CO2 concentration, but the mechanistic controls on the amount and distribution of SOC on global scales are not well understood. In turn, this has hampered the ability to model global C budgets and to find measures to mitigate climate change. Here, based on the data from a large field survey campaign with 2600 plots across China’s forest ecosystems and a global collection of published data from forested land, we find that a low litter carbon-to-nitrogen ratio(C/N) and high wetness index(P/PET, precipitation-to-potentialevapotranspiration ratio) are the two factors that promote SOC accumulation, with only minor contributions of litter quantity and soil texture. The field survey data demonstrated that high plant diversity decreased litter C/N and thus indirectly promoted SOC accumulation by increasing the litter quality. We conclude that any changes in plant-community composition, plant-species richness and environmental factors that can reduce the litter C/N ratio, or climatic changes that increase wetness index, may promote SOC accumulation. | 8 | Improved catalytic performance of Ni catalysts for steam methane reforming in a micro-channel reactor显示文摘Milliseconds process to produce hydrogen by steam methane reforming(SMR) reaction, based on Ni catalyst rather than noble catalyst such as Pd, Rh or Ru, in micro-channel reactors has been paid more and more attentions in recent years. This work aimed to further improve the catalytic performance of nickel-based catalyst by the introduction of additives, i.e., MgO and FeO, prepared by impregnation method on the micro-channels made of metal-ceramic complex substrate. The prepared catalysts were tested in the same micro-channel reactor by switching the catalyst plates. The results showed that among the tested catalysts Ni-Mg catalyst had the highest activity, especially under harsh conditions,i.e., at high space velocity and/or low reaction temperature. Moreover, the catalyst activity and selectivity were stable during the 12 h on stream test even when the ratio of steam to carbon(S/C) was as low as 1.0. | 9 | A Study on Bioactivity of Corn Peptides with Low Molecular Weight(Ⅰ)Effect of an Intake of them on Alcohol Metabolism in Rats显示文摘This study aims at the effects of an intake of low molecular weight corn peptides(LMCPs) prepared from zein on alcohol metablism in rats. LMCPs(1.0 g/kg body weight) in 15% ethanol(10 mL/kg body weight) were given to Wister rats by intragastric gavage. The assay of blood ethanol was conducted by using the enzyme based assay kit. The amino acid analysis was made with an amino acid analyzer. The data of the animal experiments showed that LMCPs could accelerate the metabolism of alcohol in rats. In the control group, the blood ethanol concentration reached the maximum level of (827.0±77.3) mg/L after ethanol loading for 30 min, then gradually decreased. In contrast, the blood ethanol concentration only reached (527.25±47.0) mg/L after 30 min in the group of LMCPs taken. | 12 | Nanostructured amorphous Fe_(29)Co_(27)Ni_(23)Si_(9)B_(12) high-entropy-alloy:an efficient electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction显示文摘Proximal configu ration of dissimilar metal atoms in amorphous high-entropy-alloys(HEAs) always re sult in interatomic d-band ligand effect,dense defect distribution,coordinatively unsaturated sites,high potential energy,and loose atom bonding.Herein,nanostructured amorphous Fe_(29)Co_(27)Ni_(23)Si_(9)B_(12) HEA ribbon is fabricated via a melt spinning method combined with electrochemical corrosion etching process,which is applied as the potential oxygen evolution reaction electrocatalyst.It is found that there are micro/nano pits on the surface of etched amorphous Fe_(29)Co_(27)Ni_(23)Si_(9)B_(12) ribbons.Various elements of HEAs bond with each other to form a highly disordered configu ration,which could result in an optimized bonding energy and enhanced intrinsic catalytic activity.The electrocatalysis activity measurements indicate that the amorphous HEA endows a much higher activity than the crystalline one,which is further improved by the electrochemical etching treatment.Especially,the HEA ribbon etched for 3 h requires a low overpotential of 230 mV to afford 10 mA cm^(-2) current density.In addition,density functional theory calculations demonstrate that the amorphous structure can weaken the interaction between the surface of Fe_(29)Co_(27)Ni_(23)Si_(9)B_(12) alloy and the intermediates,leading to an optimized adsorption Gibbs free energy. | Hongyan Wang Ran Wei Xiumin Li Xuli Ma Xiaogang Hao Guoqing Guan | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,9: | 3 |

| 14 | Brain cell apoptosis and enhancement of nervous excitability in pregnant rats with high plasma levels of homocysteine显示文摘Hyperhomocysteinemia is an important risk factor for preeclampsia-eclampsia. This study established a pregnant rat model of hyperhomocysteinemia, in which blood plasma homocysteine concentrations were twice or three times greater than that of normal pregnant rats. TUNEL revealed an increase in the number of apoptotic cells in the frontal cortex of pregnant rats with hyperhomocysteinemia. In addition,immunohistochemical staining detected activated nuclear factor-κB-positve cells in the frontal cortex.Reverse transcription-PCR detected that mRNA expression of the anti-apoptotic gene bcl-2 diminished in the frontal cortex. In situ hybridization and western blotting revealed that N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor 1 mRNA and protein expression was upregulated in the frontal cortex and hippocampus. | 15 | Identification and characterization of cDNA sequences encoding the HIS3 and LEU2 genes of the fungus Alternaria tenuissima显示文摘Alternaria tenuissima is a fungus widely present in the environment and could cause diseases in plants and humans. In this study, through a yeast genetic approach, cDNA sequences were isolated and characterized for the AtHIS3 and AtLEU2 genes. AtHIS3 cDNA encodes a protein of 238 amino acids, while AtLEU2 cDNA encodes a protein of 363 amino acids. Based on the phylogenetic analysis of amino acid sequences of AtHis3p and AtLeu2p, A. tenuissima is closely related to the plant pathogenic fungus Phaeosphaeria nodorum.
