1Curcumin protects mitochondria from oxidative damage and attenuates apoptosis in cortical neurons显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of curcumin on tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BHP)-induced oxidative damage in rat cortical neurons and to explore the possible mechanism. METHODS: Primary cultured rat cortical neurons were performed in vitro and cell viability was measured by MTT assay. DNA fragmentation was used to evaluate cell apoptosis. Intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) and mitochondrial membrane potential (?Ψm) was deter- mined by flow cytometric assay. Cellular glutathione (GSH) content was measured by spectrophotometer. Bcl-2 family proteins, cytochrome c, cleaved caspase-3, and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) were detected by Western blot. RESULTS: Exposure of tBHP 100 μmol/L to neurons for 60 min resulted in ?Ψm loss and cyto- chrome c release from mitochondria and subsequent activationof caspase-3 and PARP cleavation, and cell apoptosis. After removal of tBHP and then further treatment with curcumin (2.5-20 μmol/L) for 18 h, curcumin abrogated ?Ψm loss and cytochrome c release, blocked activation of caspase3, and altered the expression of Bcl-2 family. Further curcumin treatment also prevented cellular GSH and decreased intracellular ROS generation markedly. Curcumin eventually attenuated tBHP-induced apoptosis in cortical neurons. 2Effects of thermal activation conditions on the microstructure regulation of corncob-derived activated carbon for hydrogen storage显示文摘Activated carbons derived from corncob(CACs) were prepared by pyrolysis carbonization and KOH activation. Through modifying activation conditions, samples with large pore volume and ultrahigh BET specific surface area could be obtained. The sample achieved the highest hydrogen uptake capacity of 5.80 wt% at 40 bar and-196?C. The as-obtained samples were characterized by N2-sorption, transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). Besides, thermogravimetric analysis was also employed to investigate the activation behavior of CACs. Detailed investigation on the activation parameters reveals that moderate activation temperature and heating rate are favorable for preparing CACs with high surface area, large pore volume and optimal pore size distribution. Meanwhile, the micropore volume between 0.65 nm and 0.85 nm along with BET surface area and total pore volume has great effects on hydrogen uptake capacities. 4Terrestrial input and nutrient change reflected by sediment records of the Changjiang River Estuary in recent 80 years显示文摘A variety of environmental problems have been observed in the Changjiang River Estuary and adjacent coastal area, including eutrophication, harmful algal blooms(HABs), and hypoxia in recent decades. Application of sedimentary biogenic element indicators on the study of paleoenvironment can reconstruct environmental evolution history of waters. Two 210Pb-dated cores were collected from the Changjiang River Estuary(S3) and adjacent coastal area(Z13), and total organic carbon(TOC), total nitrogen(TN), biogenic silicon(BSi), total phosphorus(TP) and phosphorus(P) species were analyzed. Three stages of environmental changes are deduced by the nutrient sedimentary records. First, nutrient concentration increased rapidly since the 1950 s, which attributed to agriculture development and overused chemical fertilizers. Second, nutrient concentration kept high and primary production began to promote during the 1960 s to 1980 s, while diatom abundance and proportion began to decline since the 1970 s, accompanied by reduced 23 Si O- concentration and flux from the river. Third, due to several dams and bridges constructed, river runoff and coastal hydrodynamic conditions reduced to a certain extent since the 1990 s, which aggravated the unbalance in nutrient structure. 5Mechanical defect identification for gas‐insulated switchgear equipment based on time‐frequency vibration signal analysis显示文摘Mechanical defect is an important reason for the failure of gas‐insulated switchgear(GIS)equipment.Based on the time‐frequency characteristic vibration signal analysis on five kinds of mechanical defects,a novel intelligent algorithm model combining complementary ensemble empirical mode decomposition(CEEMD)and genetic al-gorithm improved kernel fuzzy mean clustering(GAKFCM)was proposed to identify the mechanical defect type.First,the mechanical defect platform and detection sys-tem were built.Then CEEMD and IMF sensitivity factors were used to analyse the time‐frequency signal of five kinds of vibration defects,and the feature extraction was performed on the processed vibration signals.Finally,the mechanical vibration defect recognition model was established based on the GAKFCM algorithm and its validity was verified.Results show that the developed detection system can detect mechanical vibration signals sensitively.Singular values,frequency band lines and entropy can reflect the energy attenuation and distribution differences for different type of me-chanical defect vibration signals.The proposed GAKFCM clustering model combining the above vibration feature parameters can effectively find and diagnose the mechanical defect of GIS equipment.Its recognition accuracy reaches 96.74%,especially for the loose contact seat bolts and poor contact failures of the disconnector.Yao Zhong Jian Hao Ruijin Liao Xupeng Wang Xiping Jiang Feng Wang 2021High Voltage2021,6,3:3

7Classification of estuaries in China based on eutrophication susceptibility to nutrient load显示文摘Recently, environmental pressures along coasts have increased substantially. Classification of estuaries according to their susceptibility to eutrophication nutrient load is a useful method to determine priority management objects and to enforce control measures. Using historical monitoring data from 2007 to 2012, from 65 estuaries, including 101 estuarine monitoring sections and 260 coastal monitoring stations, a nutrient-driven phytoplankton dynamic model was developed based on the relationship among phytoplankton biomass, Total Nitrogen(TN) load and physical features of estuaries. The ecological filter effect of estuaries was quantified by introducing conversion efficiency parameter values into the model. Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithm of Bayesian inference was then employed to estimate parameters in the model. The developed model fitted well to the observed chlorophyll, primary production, grazing, and sinking rates. The analysis suggests that an estuary with Q/V(the ratio of river flow to estuarine volume) greater than 2.0 per year and ε(conversion efficiency ratio) less than 1.0 g C/g N can be classified as less susceptible to TN load, Q/V between 0.7 to 2.0 per year and ε between 1.0 to 3.0 g C/g N as moderately susceptible, and ε greater than 3.0 g C/g N as very susceptible. The estuaries with Q/V less than 0.7 per year vary greatly in their susceptibility. The estuaries with high and moderate susceptibility accounted for 67% of all the analyzed estuaries. 9Transition Periods Between Sea Ice Concentration and Sea Surface Air Temperature in the Arctic Revealed by an Abnormal Running Correlation显示文摘This study used the synthetic running correlation coefficient calculation method to calculate the running correlation coefficients between the daily sea ice concentration(SIC) and sea surface air temperature(SSAT) in the Beaufort-Chukchi-East Siberian-Laptev Sea(BCEL Sea), Kara Sea and southern Chukchi Sea, with an aim to understand and measure the seasonally occurring changes in the Arctic climate system. The similarities and differences among these three regions were also discussed. There are periods in spring and autumn when the changes in SIC and SSAT are not synchronized, which is a result of the seasonally occurring variation in the climate system. These periods are referred to as transition periods. Spring transition periods can be found in all three regions, and the start and end dates of these periods have advancing trends. The multiyear average duration of the spring transition periods in the BCEL Sea, Kara Sea and southern Chukchi Sea is 74 days, 57 days and 34 days, respectively. In autumn, transition periods exist in only the southern Chukchi Sea, with a multiyear average duration of only 16 days. 10Purification and Characterization of 2-Haloacid Dehalogenase from Marine Bacterium Paracoccus sp. DEH99, Isolated from Marine Sponge Hymeniacidon perlevis显示文摘2-haloacid dehalogenases constitute a group of dehalogenases which are capable of dehalogenating the halogenated organic compounds. So far, the 2-haloacid dehalogenases have been found in many bacteria, but not in Paracoccus genus. In the present study, one enzyme 2-haloacid dehalogenase(designated as Deh99), induced by DL-2-chloropropionate(DL-2-CPA), was purified from the marine bacterium Paracoccus sp. DEH99, isolated from marine sponge Hymeniacidon perlevis. The enzyme of Deh99 was purified to homogeneity by ammonium sulfate precipitation, ion exchange chromatography(Q-Sepharose HP), and Superdex 200 gel filtration chromatography. The molecular weight of Deh99 was estimated to be 25.0 kDa by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis(SDS-PAGE), and 50.0 kDa natively by gel filtration chromatography. The enzyme of Deh99 stereospecifically dehalogenated L-2-CPA to produce D-lactate, with an apparent Michaelis-Menten constant(Km) value of 0.21 mmol L-1 for L-2-CPA. The optimal pH and temperature for Deh99 activity were 10.0 and 40℃, respectively. The enzyme of Deh99 acted on short-carbon-chain 2-haloacids, with the highest activity towards monochloroacetate. The activity of Deh99 was slightly affected by DTT and EDTA, but strongly inhibited by Cu2+ and Zn2+. 11TRIB3-GSK-3β interaction promotes lung fibrosis and serves as a potential therapeutic target显示文摘Pulmonary fibrosis(PF)is a chronic,progressive,fatal interstitial lung disease with limited available therapeutic strategies.We recently reported that the protein kinase glycogen synthase kinase-3β(GSK-3β)interacts with and inactivates the ubiquitin-editing enzyme A20 to suppress the degradation of the transcription factor CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein beta(C/EBPβ)in alveolar macrophages(AMs),resulting in a profibrotic phenotype of AMs and promoting the development of PF.Here,we showed that chronic lung injury upregulated the stress response protein tribbles homolog 3(TRIB3),which interacted with GSK-3βand stabilized GSK-3βfrom ubiquitination and degradation.Elevated GSK-3βexpression phosphorylated A20 to inhibit its ubiquitin-editing activity,causing the accumulation of C/EBPβand the production of several profibrotic factors in AMs and promoting PF development.Activated C/EBPβ,in turn,increased the transcription of TRIB3 and GSK-3β,thereby establishing a positive feedback loop in AMs.The knockdown of TRIB3 expression or the pharmacologic disruption of the TRIB3-GSK-3βinteraction was an effective PF treatment.Our study reveals an intact profibrotic axis of TRIB3-GSK-3β-A20-C/EBPβin AMs,which represents a target that may provide a promising treatment strategy for PF.Shanshan Liu Xiaoxi Lv Xupeng Wei Chang Liu Qiao Li Jiali Min Fang Hua Xiaowei Zhang Ke Li Pingping Li Yang Xiao Zhuowei Hu Bing Cui 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,10:2
12Surface hydrophobic modification enhanced catalytic performance of electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction显示文摘Electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR)is a sustainable approach for NH_(3)production with low energy consumption.However,competing hydrogen reduction reaction(HER)in aqueous solution results in low NH_(3)production and Faraday efficiency(FE).Here,MoS_(2)nanostructures with a hydrophobic surface are synthesized by alkyl thiols modification.Aerophilic and hydrophobic surface facilitates an efficient three-phase contact of N_(2),H_(2)O,and catalyst.Thus,localized concentrated N_(2)molecules can overcome the mass transfer limitation of N2 and depress the HER due to lowering the proton contacts.Although the active-sites decrease with the increase of the alkyl chain since the thiol may cover the active site,the optimized electrocatalyst achieves NH_(3)yield of 12.86×10^(-11)mol·cm^(-2)·s^(-1)at-0.25 V and 22.23%FE,which are 4.3 and 24 times higher than those of MoS2-CP electrocatalyst,respectively.The increased catalytic performance is attributed to the high N_(2)adsorption and depressed HER.Lijuan Niu Ziwen Liu Guohua Liu Mengxuan Li Xupeng Zong Dandan Wang Li An Dan Qu Xiaoming Sun Xiayan Wang Zaicheng Sun 2022Nano Research2022,15,5:2

14The Light Regime Effect on Triacylglycerol Accumulation of Isochrysis zhangjiangensis显示文摘Stress state of microalgal cells is caused under unfavorable conditions such as disordered light regime and depleted nitrogen. The stress state can impair photosynthetic efficiency, inhibit cell growth and result in the accumulation of triacylglycerol(TAG) from protective mechanisms. Continuous light or nitrogen starvation was applied on microalgae and performed effectively on inducing TAG production. To evaluate the light regime effect on inducing TAG production, the effect of different light regimes on nitrogen-starved Isochrysis zhangjiangensis was investigated in this work. The continuous light and nitrogen starvation elevated TAG content of biomass by 73% and 193%, respectively. Furthermore, the TAG accumulation of I. zhangjiangensis cell under nitrogen starvation decreased under aggravated stress from continuous illumination. Our results demonstrated that culturing the cells with 14 L: 10 D light regime under nitrogen starvation is the optimal mode to achieve maximal accumulation of TAG. 16Study on the Carry Capacity of Edible Jellyfish Fishery in Liaodong Bay显示文摘Jellyfish fishing is a special type of fishery that mainly exists in some countries of East and Southeast Asia. China has the largest jellyfish fishery yield in the world with an annual harvest of around 300 thousand tons. Liaodong Bay is the most important jellyfish fishery ground in China. However, due to the high benefits of jellyfish fishery, which leads to illegal and out-of-season jellyfish fishing occurring each year in Liaodong Bay. Illegal jellyfish fishery in Liaodong Bay is a typical example of the tragedy of the commons. The key problem is that fishermen seek to an illegally initiate jellyfish fishing as early as possible. In this paper, basing on the data of edible jellyfish's biology and ecology, we mainly analyzed the history of jellyfish fishery in China, especially in Liaodong bay, and then we calculated the carry capacity of edible jellyfish in Liaodong Bay which is about 300 thousand tons one year. This number is equal to the recent annual yield of edible jellyfish in China. Furthermore, basing on the carry capacity and reasonable quotas price analysis, we set up a Jellyfish fishing quotas and deficit quotas buyback system which could be a suitable and effective solution for jellyfish fishery management and development in Liaodong Bay at the underlying roots. Although China is the first country with edible jellyfish aquaculture, the annual yield of jellyfish aquaculture is only one fifth of jellyfish fishing. 20同基因混合G-CSF动员的异基因骨髓移植物诱导的抗白血病效应(英文)显示文摘Objective: To study clinical characteristics of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) in order to diagnose and treat early and improve prognosis. Methods: 112 cases with NHL were pathologically diagnosed and treated in 1992-2005. Results: Among all cases, 30 were not treated previously, 79 were involved in peripheral lymph nodes, 55 deep lymph nodes, 18 Waldeyer's ring, 25 respiratory system, 26 digestive system, 26 spleen, 13 bone, 13 skin and subcutaneous, 4 urinogenital system, 13 other sites. Among 30 previously untreated patients, there were 4 staged I, 3 IE, 5 II, 1 IIE, 9 III, 1 IIIS and 7 IV. Among 82 patients with prior treatment, 29 were involved in lymph nodes only, 53 involved in different organs and tissues. In our series, there were 38 cases and 74 cases belonged to subtype A and subtype B respectively. Conclusion: The enlargement of peripheral lymph nodes is main clinical characteristic in NHL, but lesions also involve different organs and tissues.
