3Low-dose real-time X-ray imaging with nontoxic double perovskite scintillators显示文摘X-rays are widely used in probing inside information nondestructively,enabling broad applications in the medical radiography and electronic industries.X-ray imaging based on emerging lead halide perovskite scintillators has received extensive attention recently.However,the strong self-absorption,relatively low light yield and lead toxicity of these perovskites restrict their practical applications.Here,we report a series of nontoxic double-perovskite scintillators of Cs_(2)Ag_(0.6)Na_(0.4)In_(1-y)Bi_(y)Cl_(6).By controlling the content of the heavy atom Bi^(3+),the X-ray absorption coefficient,radiative emission efficiency,light yield and light decay were manipulated to maximise the scintillator performance.A light yield of up to 39,000±7000 photons/MeV for Cs_(2)Ag_(0.6)Na_(0.4)In_(0.85)Bi_(0.15)Cl_(6) was obtained,which is much higher than that for the previously reported lead halide perovskite colloidal CsPbBr_(3)(21,000 photons/MeV).The large Stokes shift between the radioluminescence(RL)and absorption spectra benefiting from self-trapped excitons(STEs)led to a negligible selfabsorption effect.Given the high light output and fast light decay of this scintillator,static X-ray imaging was attained under an extremely low dose of ∼1μGy_(air),and dynamic X-ray imaging of finger bending without a ghosting effect was demonstrated under a low-dose rate of 47.2μGy_(air) s^(−1).After thermal treatment at 85℃ for 50 h followed by X-ray irradiation for 50 h in ambient air,the scintillator performance in terms of the RL intensity and X-ray image quality remained almost unchanged.Our results shed light on exploring highly competitive scintillators beyond the scope of lead halide perovskites,not only for avoiding toxicity but also for better performance.Wenjuan Zhu Wenbo Ma Yirong Su Zeng Chen Xinya Chen Yaoguang Ma Lizhong Bai Wenge Xiao Tianyu Liu Haiming Zhu Xiaofeng Liu Huafeng Liu Xu Liu Yang(Michael)Yang 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:9
4Synergistic effect of MXene on the flame retardancy and thermal degradation of intumescent flame retardant biodegradable poly(lactic acid)composites显示文摘The effect of Ti3C2 MXene nanosheets on the intumescent flame retardant(IFR)poly(lactic acid)(PLA)composites was investigated among a series of PLA/IFR/MXene,which were prepared by melt blending 0-2.0 wt%MXene,10.0 wt%-12.0 wt%IFR and PLA together.The results of limiting oxygen index(LOI)and vertical burning(UL-94)discover that the combination of 0.5 wt%MXene and 11.5 wt%IFR synergistically improves the fire safety of PLA to reach UL-94 V-0 rating with LOI value of 33.0%.The PLA/IFR/MXene composites perform an obvious reduction in peak of heat release rate(HRR)in cone calorimeter tests(CCTs).Furthermore,the carbon residues after CCTs were characterized by scanning electron microscope(SEM),laser Raman spectroscopy(LRS),X-ray diffraction(XRD)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).It is demonstrated that both the titanium composition of the MXene structure and the characteristics of the two-dimensional material enhance the PLA/IFR/MXene composite materials’ability to produce a dense barrier layer to resist burnout during thermal degradation.Haowei Huang Dexuan Dong Weijie Li Xinya Zhang Li Zhang Ying Chen Xinxin Sheng Xiang Lu 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,7:7
5Nano-selenium controlled cadmium accumulation and improved photosynthesis in indica rice cultivated in lead and cadmium combined paddy soils显示文摘Selenium nanoparticles(Se NPs) are less toxic and more biocompatible than selenite or selenate. However, studies involving spraying with Se NPs for reducing accumulation of cadmium(Cd) and lead(Pb) in rice grains have been rarely reported as yet. Herein, indica rice seedlings cultivated in Cd + Pb-spiked paddy soils(denoted as positive control) were sprayed with Se NPs sols for four times from tillering to booting stage. Compared to positive control, 50–100 μmol/L Se NPs downregulated Cd transporters-related genes such as Os LCT 1, OsH MA 2 and Os CCX2 in leaves and OsLCT1, Os PCR1 and Os CCX2 genes in node I at filling stage. Meanwhile, Se-binding protein 1 was distinctly elevated, involving the repression of Cd and Pb transportation to rice grains. Se NPs also differentially improved RuBP carboxylase and chlorophylls especially some key genes and proteins involving photosynthetic system. Besides, 25–50 μmol/L Se NPs diminished reactive oxygen species overproduction from NADPH oxidases whereas boosted glutathione peroxidase, reducing protein carbonylation in rice seedlings. However, the antioxidant isozymes and oxidatively modified proteins were slightly rebounded at 100 μmol/L. Se contents were noticeably elevated and confirmed to exist as selenomethionine in the rice grains following all the treatments by Se NPs. Thus, the optimal dosage of Se NPs for foliar application is 50 μmol/L, which significantly decreased Cd accumulation, improved photosynthesis and Se enrichment whereas caused no distinct reduction of Pb in the grains. 6Superior anti-corrosion and self-healing bi-functional polymer composite coatings with polydopamine modified mesoporous silica/graphene oxide显示文摘In this article,graphene oxide(GO)and benzotriazole-loaded mesoporous silica nanoparticles(BTA/MSNs)are combined on micro scale through the in situ polymerization of polydopamine(PDA),preparing a selfhealing bi-functional GO(fGO)used as nano-fillers for anti-corrosion enhancement of waterborne epoxy(WEP)coatings.Scanning electronic microscopy(SEM)images show that the BTA/MSNs are uniformly distributed on the surface of high aspect ratio GO nanosheets to endow GO nanocontainer characteristics.UV-vis profiles demonstrate that fGO has p H-controlled release function.Modulus at lowest frequency is generally used for comparing the corrosion resistance of organic coatings.Modulus at lowest frequency(1.42×10^(5)Ωcm^(2))after 30 days immersion in 3.5 wt.%Na Cl solution revealed 2 orders of magnitude higher that of blank WEP(1.17×10^(7)Ωcm^(2)).With artificial cracks on its coatings,fGO/WEP had no obvious rust compared with blank WEP after 240 h of immersion.We anticipate that self-healing and physical barrier bi-functional nanocontainers improve the traditional anticorrosion coating efficiency with better,longer-lasting performance for shipping,oil drilling or bridge maintenance.Yanqi Ma Haowei Huang Hongda Zhou Michael Graham James Smith Xinxin Sheng Ying Chen Li Zhang Xinya Zhang Elena Shchukina Dmitry Shchukin 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,36:4
7Relationships between daily total fluoride intake and dental fluorosis and dental caries显示文摘Objective:To explore the relationships between the daily total intake of fluoride,dental fluorosis and dental caries. Methods: An epidemiological method was used to investigate the daily total intake of fluoride,dental fluorosis,and dental caries among 236 and 290 children aged 8-13 years in a severe endemic area and in a non-fluorosis control area,respectively. The children were divided into eight subgroups according to each child’s estimated daily total intake of fluoride. The prevalence of dental fluorosis and dental caries in each group was calculated. Results: As expected,elevated levels of fluoride intake were significantly associated with a higher prevalence of dental fluorosis and an increasing amount of more severe defect dental fluorosis. When the daily total F intake was 2.78 mg/child/day,the prevalence of dental fluorosis was nearly 100%,with the prevalence of defect dental fluorosis increasing with increasing fluoride intake. There was also a significant negative(inverse) dose-response relationship between the daily total intake of fluoride and the overall preva-lence of dental caries,the prevalence of which decreased when the daily total intake of fluoride increased up to 3.32 mg/child/day. However,at higher levels of daily total intake of fluoride the prevalence of dental caries increased,giving rise to a U-shaped dose-response relationship curve. 8Hofmeister Effect-Assisted Strong Natural Biopolymer-Based Hydrogels with Multi-Functions显示文摘Natural biopolymer-based hydrogels have been extensively studied in recent years due to their excellent biocompatibility.However,the preparation of multi-functional and tough natural biopolymer-based hydrogels is still a challenging problem.Herein,a natural biopolymer-based hydrogel is prepared using gelatin and carboxymethyl chitosan(CMCS)through a one-step soaking method.The prepared hydrogel without any synthetic polymers and crosslinking agents has a fully physical crosslinking structure.Due to the hydrophobic interaction brought by the Hofmeister effect,the mechanical properties of soaked hydrogels(tensile stress and strain can reach 3.77 MPa and 1082%)are superior to conventional protein hydrogels.In addition,the prepared gelatin/carboxymethyl chitosan(Gel/CMCS)hydrogels exhibit a variety of appealing properties,including good shape memory,fatigue resistance,electrical conductivity,water retention,drug releasing,antibacterial property,and recyclability.This strategy opens up a new horizon to fabricate hydrogels with excellent mechanical properties and multiple functions,which can extend their applications in the biomedicine area and other related fields.Yaqian Cai Jiachuan Shi Fangzhe Liu Haichao Li Xinya Man Shuang Guan 2021Chinese Journal of Chemistry2021,39,11:3
9Homogentisic acid γ-lactone suppresses the virulence factors of Pseudomonas aeruginosa by quenching its quorum sensing signal molecules显示文摘Bacterial quorum sensing(QS) molecules are involved in the coordination of certain behaviors such as biofilm formation, virulence and antibiotic resistance. QS molecules(autoinducers) and their corresponding receptors have been recognized as important therapeutic targets for drug-resistant infections and biofilm-associated infections(BAI). This study assessed the multiple biological effects of homogentisic acid y-lactone(HgAL), a furanone derivative. The anti-QS and anti-biofilm effects of HgAL against PAO1 strain were evaluated using CLSM, SEM, HPLC and other biochemical methods The results showed that HgAL could effectively inhibit the production of pyocyanin and extracellular matrix, as well as reduce the adherence ability and biofilm formation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Inhibition of virulence is attributed to the suppressive effect of HgAL on biosynthesis of 3-oxo-C_(12)-HSLand C4-HSL(two kinds of QS signaling molecules in P. aeruginosa). 10Integration of filter membrane and Ca_(2)Nb_(3)O_(10) nanosheets for high performance flexible UV photodetectors显示文摘We report that the integration of filter membrane and Ca_(2)Nb_(3)O_(10)nanosheets(FM@CNO) UV photodetector(UV PD) shows high performance and excellent flexibility. The Ca_(2)Nb_(3)O_(10)nanosheets were prepared by a facile solid-state reaction and liquid exfoliation process. The Ca_(2)Nb_(3)O_(10)nanosheets can be integrated into the pores of a filter membrane via a simple vacuum filtration method. The FM@CNO UV PD shows high performance under 300 nm light illumination at 5 V bias, including high responsivity(0.08 AW^(-1)), high detectivity(1.1 × 10^(12)Jones), high UV/visible rejection ratio(3.86 × 10^(3)) and fast speed(0.12/1.24 ms). Furthermore, the FM@CNO device exhibits excellent flexibility after many bending cycles.In addition, the FM@CNO array device was used as a pixel array detector for UV imaging. 14A novel protein RASON encoded by a lncRNA controls oncogenic RAS signaling in KRAS mutant cancers显示文摘Mutations of the RAS oncogene are found in around 30%of all human cancers yet direct targeting of RAS is still considered clinically impractical except for the KRAS^(G12C)mutant.Here we report that RAS-ON(RASON),a novel protein encoded by the long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 00673(LINC00673),is a positive regulator of oncogenic RAS signaling.RASON is aberrantly overexpressed in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)patients,and it promotes proliferation of human PDAC cell lines in vitro and tumor growth in vivo.CRISPR/Cas9-mediated knockout of Rason in mouse embryonic fibroblasts inhibits KRAS-mediated tumor transformation.Genetic deletion of Rason abolishes oncogenic KRAS-driven pancreatic and lung cancer tumorigenesis in LSL Kras^(G12D);Trp53R172H/+mice.Mechanistically,RASON directly binds to KRAS^(G12D)/V and inhibits both intrinsic and GTPase activating protein(GAP)-mediated GTP hydrolysis,thus sustaining KRAS^(G12D/V)in the GTP-bound hyperactive state.Therapeutically,deprivation of RASON sensitizes KRAS mutant pancreatic cancer cells and patient-derived organoids to EGFR inhibitors.Our findings identify RASON as a critical regulator of oncogenic KRAS signaling and a promising therapeutic target for KRAS mutant cancers.Rongjie Cheng Fanying Li Maolei Zhang Xin Xia Jianzhuang Wu Xinya Gao Huangkai Zhou Zhi Zhang Nunu Huang Xuesong Yang Yaliang Zhang Shunli Shen Tiebang Kang Zexian Liu Feizhe Xiao Hongwei Yao Jianbo Xu Chao Yan Nu Zhang 2023Cell Research2023,33,1:1

18Improved in situ sequencing for high-resolution targeted spatial transcriptomic analysis in tissue sections显示文摘Spatial transcriptomics enables the study of localization-indexed gene expression activity in tissues,providing the transcriptional landscape that in turn indicates the potential regulatory networks of gene expression.In situ sequencing(ISS)is a targeted spatial transcriptomic technique,based on padlock probe and rolling circle amplification combined with next-generation sequencing chemistry,for highly multiplexed in situ gene expression profiling.Here,we present improved in situ sequencing(IISS)that exploits a new probing and barcoding approach,combined with advanced image analysis pipelines for high-resolution targeted spatial gene expression profiling.We develop an improved combinatorial probe anchor ligation chemistry using a 2-base encoding strategy for barcode interrogation.The new encoding strategy results in higher signal intensity as well as improved specificity for in situ sequencing,while maintaining a streamlined analysis pipeline for targeted spatial transcriptomics.We show that IISS can be applied to both fresh frozen tissue and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections for single-cell level spatial gene expression analysis,based on which the developmental trajectory and cell-cell communication networks can also be constructed.Xinbin Tang Jiayu Chen Xinya Zhang Xuzhu Liu Zhaoxiang Xie Kaipeng Wei Jianlong Qiu Weiyan Ma Chen Lin Rongqin Ke 2023Journal of Genetics and Genomics2023,50,9:1
19Co-adsorption behaviors of asphaltenes and different flow improvers and their impacts on the interfacial viscoelasticity显示文摘Commonly used flow improvers in oilfields,such as ethylene–vinyl acetate copolymer(EVA),poly(octadecyl acrylate)(POA),and polymethylsilsesquioxane(PMSQ)are proven to be effective to enhance the flowability of crude oil.However,the addition of these flow improvers may change the stability of the emulsion and make the crude oil treatment process challenging.In this research,the impacts of different flow improvers on the interfacial properties of the emulsions containing asphaltenes are systematically investigated.The co-adsorption behaviors of the flow improvers and asphaltenes are analyzed through dynamic interfacial tension(DIFT).The rheological properties of the interfacial layer after the adsorption are explored via dilational viscoelasticity.Significant difference is observed in the structural properties of the interface adsorbed by different flow improvers,which is attributed to different interactions between the flow improvers and asphaltenes.To investigate these interactions,conductivity,asphaltenes precipitation,dynamic light scattering(DLS),and contact angle experiments are conducted systematically.Results show that EVA and POA can alter the interfacial properties by changing the asphaltene dispersion state.The interaction between EVA and asphaltenes is stronger than that between POA and asphaltenes due to the difference in molecular structures.Unlike EVA and POA,the change of interfacial property with the addition of PMSQ is attributed to the partial adsorption of asphaltenes on PMSQ.Hao Zhang Daiwei Liu Jiangbo Wen Guangyu Sun Chuanxian Li Xinya Chen Huihui Zhang Ze Duan 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,8:1
20Iron-bound organic carbon dynamics in peatland profiles:The preservation equivalence of deep and surface soil显示文摘More than half of the carbon pools in peatlands are stored in the soil layers below 30 cm,yet little is known about the carbon stabilizing factors at these depths.Although iron oxide minerals are considered to be important for stabilizing organic carbon(OC),their role in the preservation of OC in peatlands,especially in the deep layers,is poorly understood.Here,we collected 1 m soil profiles from six peatlands in Central and West China to quantitatively study the vertical distribution characteristics of iron-bound OC(Fe-bound OC),and the influencing physicochemical properties of the soil.The results showed that the content of reactive iron(FeR)was enriched in the top layer and decreased gradually with depth.While Fe-bound OC was positively correlated with FeR,its concentration did not decrease with depth in the peat profile.There were no obvious trends in the distributions of FeR and Fe-bound OC with water level fluctuations in the peat profile.In addition,the proportion of Fe-bound OC to soil organic carbon in the deep peat(31 to 100 cm)was equivalent to that in the surface peat(0 to 30 cm),indicating that iron oxide mineral provides comparable protection of OC in both layers.According to upper estimates of global peatland carbon storage(612 Pg),it could be predicted that 23.81±11.75 Pg of OC is protected by association with FeR.These results indicated that iron oxide minerals are the effective'rusty sink'of OC sequestration in peatland,and a key factor for its long-term preservation.The results from this study make a valuable contribution to the carbon dynamics knowledgebase for peatlands,and provide a basis for improved predictive simulations.Xinya Huang Xinwei Liu Liangshuai Chen Yanfen Wang Huai Chen 2023Fundamental Research2023,3,6:1
