4Loading-Balance Relay-Selective Strategy Based on Stochastic Dynamic Program显示文摘A Relay-Assisted(RA) network with relay selection is considered as a type of effective technology to improve the spectrum and energy efficiency of a cellular network. However, loading balance of the assisted relay node becomes an inevitable bottleneck in RA network development because users do not follow uniform distribution. Furthermore, the time-varying channel condition of wireless communication is also a major challenge for the RA network with relay selection. To solve these problems and improve the practicability of the RA network, a Loading Balance-Relay Selective(LBRS) strategy is proposed for the RA network in this paper. The proposed LBRS strategy formulates the relay selection of the RA network under imperfect channel state information assumption as a Multistage Decision(MD) problem. An optimal algorithm is also investigated to solve the proposed MD problem based on stochastic dynamic program. 5Using hydrochemical signatures to characterize the long-period evolution of groundwater information in the Dagu River Basin,China显示文摘The evolution of hydrochemical compositions influenced by long-period interactions between groundwater and the geo-environment is a fundamental issue for exploring groundwater quality and vulnerability.This study systematically investigated the hydrochemical processes and anthropogenic interference occurring in the river basin by bivariate plots,Gibbs diagrams,saturation index,and the major ions ratios.Apparent changes in groundwater hydrochemistry have been observed in the study area,illustrating the origins of major ions are affected by various internal and external factors.Results highlighted that TDS varied from freshwater to brackish water,ranging between 187.90 and 2294.81 mg/L.Ca^(2+)and HCO_(3)^(−)are the dominant ions in the studied samples.The results gained by Gibbs diagrams,bivariate plots,saturation index,and the major ions ratios demonstrated that minerals dissolution/precipitation,cation exchange,and human inputs play crucial roles in the unconfined aquifers.Moreover,the overuse of nitrogen fertilizer,livestock manure,and industrial/domestic sewage led to nitrate and nitrite contamination and brought significant challenges to the surrounding hydrogeo-environment.The present study could make an unambiguous identification of natural processes and anthropogenic interventions influencing groundwater hydrochemistry’s long-period evolution and create a preliminary strategy for groundwater resources management.Ziyue Yin Qing Lin Shaohui Xu 2021Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2021,15,5:1

8Genome degradation promotes Salmonella pathoadaptation by remodeling fimbriae-mediated proinflammatory response显示文摘Understanding changes in pathogen behavior(e.g.increased virulence,a shift in transmission channel)is critical for the public health management of emerging infectious diseases.Genome degradation via gene depletion or inactivation is recognized as a pathoadaptive feature of the pathogen evolving with the host.However,little is known about the exact role of genome degradation in affecting pathogenic behavior,and the underlying molecular detail has yet to be examined.Using large-scale global avian-restricted Salmonella genomes spanning more than a century,we projected the genetic diversity of Salmonella Pullorum(bvSP)by showing increasingly antimicrobial-resistant ST92 prevalent in Chinese flocks.The phylogenomic analysis identified three lineages in bvSP,with an enhancement of virulence in the two recently emerged lineages(L2/L3),as evidenced in chicken and embryo infection assays.Notably,the ancestor L1 lineage resembles the Salmonella serovars with higher metabolic flexibilities and more robust environmental tolerance,indicating stepwise evolutionary trajectories towards avian-restricted lineages.Pan-genome analysis pinpointed fimbrial degradation from a virulent lineage.The later engineeredfim-deletion mutant,and all other five fimbrial systems,revealed behavior switching that restricted horizontal fecal-oral transmission but boosted virulence in chicks.By depleting fimbrial appendages,bvSP established persistent replication with less proinflammation in chick macrophages and adopted vertical transovarial transmission,accompanied by ever-increasing intensification in the poultry industry.Together,we uncovered a previously unseen paradigm for remodeling bacterial surface appendages that supplements virulence-enhanced evolution with increased vertical transmission.Xiao Zhou Xiamei Kang Jiaqi Chen Yan Song Chenghao Jia Lin Teng Yanting Tang Zhijie Jiang Xianqi Peng Xiaoxi Tao Yiwei Xu Linlin Huang Xuebin Xu Yaohui Xu Tengfei Zhang Shenye Yu Jiansen Gong Shaohui Wang Yuqing Liu Guoqiang Zhu Corinna Kehrenberg Franois-Xavier Weill Paul Barrow Yan Li Guoping Zhao Min Yue 2023National Science Review2023,10,10:0
9Study on Litter Water Interception Capacity of Phyllostachys edulis Plantations with Different Densities显示文摘The litter amount and the water holding characteristic parameters,such as the maximum water holding capacity and rate,the water absorption rate and the modified interception amount of Phyllostachys edulis plantations with four densities were studied in Huangshan district.The results are as follows:The total amount,thickness and natural water content of litters under all the four stands tested were different.The total litter amount in different stands ranged between 3.98 t·ha-1 to 6.00 t·ha-1, which in the stand with the density of 3 000 stems·ha-1 was the most.The ratio of maximum water-holding capacity of litter in various stands ranged from 317.09%to 347.58%.The maximum water holding capacity of litter in the stand with the density of 3 000 stems·ha-1 was 20.70 t·ha-1. By analyzing,the relationship between the water holding capacity of litter and the immersion time followed the equation of:S = alnt + b(a is the coefficient;b is the constant term).The relationship between the water absorption speed of the litter and the immerse time followed the equation of: V = ctd(c is the coefficient;d is the exponential term).The litter water capacity increased rapidly within the first four hours,and then increased slowly.The results also showed that the hydrological character of litter was positively related to density in Ph.Edulis forest.Therefore, it is important to choose appropriate density for enhancing the eco-hydrological benefits of litter layer in Ph.edulis forest.Yu Lin Fan Shaohui Su Wenhui LiuWeiyi Feng Huanying 2012Chinese Forestry Science and Technology2012,11,3:0
10Principles of fluorescence correlation spectroscopy applied to studies of biomolecular liquid–liquid phase separation显示文摘Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) investigates the temporal relationship of fluctuating fluorescence signals reflecting underlying molecular processes occurring in a solution sample or a single live cell. This review article introduces the principles of two basic and most used FCS techniques: fluorescence auto-correlation spectroscopy (FACS) and fluorescence cross-correlation spectroscopy (FCCS). Combined, FACS and FCCS techniques can quantitatively analyze multiple properties of molecule or nanoparticle samples, including molar concentration, diffusion coefficient and hydrodynamic radius, homo- or hetero-interaction, fluorescence brightness, etc. Not surprisingly, FCS techniques have long been used to investigate molecular mechanisms of biomolecular phase separation, first in the lipid bilayer and more recently in cell cytosol and nucleoplasm. The latter applications are especially exciting since a whole new class of membraneless cellular organelles have been discovered, which are proposed to be results of biomolecule liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS). LLPS research can benefit significantly from the multifunctionality and single-molecule sensitivity of a variety of FCS techniques, particularly for live-cell studies. 11Coupled effects of pH and kaolinite colloids on antibiotic transport in porous media显示文摘Antibiotics can interact with natural colloids and the surrounding media upon entry into soil and groundwater systems,which significantly alters their dynamic behavior and complicates our understanding of antibiotic fate and transport in porous media.In this study,co-transport of antibiotics and kaolinite colloids was systematically investigated using combined column experiments and numerical simulation under different pH conditions.Sulfadiazine(SDZ)transport was enhanced by kaolinite colloids under neutral and alkaline conditions,which was attributed to the higher mobility of colloids as SDZ carriers,as well as competitive sorption.However,most injected SDZ was transported in a dissolved form owing to the low sorption capacity of SDZ to kaolinite colloids and quartz sand.The colloid-facilitated transport model provided a good description of total SDZ transport,but underestimated colloidal SDZ transport using parameters from kinetic sorption experiments.Kaolinite colloids significantly promoted ciprofloxacin(CIP)transport at pH 4.0,but inhibited it at pH 7.0 and9.0.Interestingly,enhanced CIP transport was due to the decreased number of effective sorption sites on quartz sand and the increased desorption of CIP from kaolinite colloids.Under neutral and alkaline conditions,deposited colloids provided additional sorption sites for CIP,which contributed to CIP retention.Moreover,CIP significantly inhibited the transport of kaolinite colloids owing to the increases in colloidal aggregate size and zeta potential.Overall,our results highlighted the different effects of mobile and immobile colloids on antibiotic transport,in addition to the implications of antibiotic speciation and clay colloids when predicting the transport behavior of these compounds.Shuhua JI Xiaowen LIU Xiu MENG Shaohui XU Qing LIN 2023Pedosphere2023,33,5:0
