| 1 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. | 3 | B7-DC (PD-L2) costimulation of CD4^(+) T-helper 1 response via RGMb显示文摘The role of B7-DC in T-cell responses remains controversial because both coinhibitory and costimulatory functions have been reported in various experimental systems in vitro and in vivo.In addition to interacting with the coinhibitory receptor PD-1,B7-DC has also been shown to bind repulsive guidance molecule b(RGMb).The functional consequences of the B7-DC/RGMb interaction,however,remain unclear.More than a decade ago,we reported that replacement of a murine B7-DC mutant lysine with serine(K113S)at positive 113 resulted in a loss of binding capacity to PD-1.Nevertheless,K113S remained costimulatory for T cells in vitro,implicating a dual functionality for B7-DC in T-cell responses.Here we show that recombinant K113S protein interacts with RGMb with a similar affinity to wild-type B7-DC.More importantly,K113S costimulates CD4^(+)T-cell responses via RGMb and promotes Th1 polarization.RGMb is expressed on the surface of naive mouse T cells,macrophages,neutrophils and dendritic cells.Finally,K113S/RGMb costimulation suppresses Th2-mediated asthma and ameliorates small airway inflammation and lung pathology in an experimental mouse model.Our findings indicate that RGMb is a costimulatory receptor for B7-DC.These findings from the K113S variant provide not only a possible explanation for the B7-DC-triggered contradictory effects on T-cell responses,but also a novel approach to investigate the B7-DC/PD-1/RGMb axis.Recombinant K113S or its derivatives could potentially be developed as an agonist for RGMb to costimulate the Th1 response without triggering PD-1-mediated T-cell inhibition. | Xinxin Nie Wenni Chen Ying Zhu Baozhu Huang Weiwei Yu Zhanshuai Wu Sizheng Guo Yiping Zhu Liqun Luo Shengdian Wang Lieping Chen | 2018 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2018,15,10: | 3 |

| 7 | Analysis of diffusion behavior of harmful emissions from trackless rubber-wheel diesel vehicles in underground coal mines显示文摘To define the diffusion behavior of harmful exhaust substances from diesel vehicles and support safety risk assessments of underground coal mines,we performed a multi-species coupling calculation of the emission and diffusion of harmful substances from a trackless rubber-wheel diesel vehicle.A computational fluid dynamics(CFD)model of the diffusion of harmful emissions was hence established and verified.From the perspective of risk analysis,the diffusion behavior and distribution of hazardous substances emitted by the diesel vehicle were studied under 4 different conditions;moreover,we identified areas characterized by hazardous levels of emissions.When the vehicle idled upwind in the roadway,high-risk areas formed behind and to the right of the vehicle:particularly high concentrations of pollutants were measured near the rear floor of the vehicle and within 5 m behind the vehicle.When the vehicle idled downwind,high-risk areas formed in front of it:particularly high concentrations of pollutants were measured near the floor and within 5 m from the front of the vehicle.In the above cases,the driver would not breathe highly polluted air and would be relatively safe.When the vehicle idled into the chamber,however,high-risk areas formed on both sides of the vehicle and near the upper roof.Forward entry of the vehicle caused a greater increase in the concentration of pollutants in the chamber and in the driver’s breathing zone compared with reverse entry. | Yun Hua Wen Nie Qiang Liu Xiaofei Liu Chengyi Liu Weiwei Zhou Fengning Yu | 2022 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2022,32,6: | 1 |

| 11 | Acceleration Strategies Based on an Improved Bubble Packing Method显示文摘The bubble packing method can generate high-quality node sets in simple and complex domains.However,its efficiency remains to be improved.This study is a part of an ongoing effort to introduce several acceleration schemes to reduce the cost of simulation.Firstly,allow the viscosity coefficient c in the bubble governing equations to change according the coordinate of the bubble which are defined separately as odd and normal bubbles,and meanwhile with the saw-shape relationship with time or iterations.Then,in order to relieve the over crowded initial bubble placement,two coefficients w1 and w2 are introduced to modify the insertion criterion.The range of those two coefficients are discussed to be w1=1,w2∈[0.5,0.8].Finally,a self-adaptive termination condition is logically set when the stable system equilibrium is achieved.Numerical examples illustrate that the computing cost can significantly decrease by roughly 80%via adopting various combination of proper schemes(except the uniform placement example),and the average qualities of corresponding Delaunay triangulation substantially exceed 0.9.It shows that those strategies are efficient and can generate a node set with high quality. | Nan Qi Yufeng Nie Weiwei Zhang | 2014 | Communications in Computational Physics2014,16,6: | 1 |

The experiments were carried out to verify the feasibility of using plasma swirler to control diffusion flame. The plasma swirler consists of multiple electrodes with staggered arrangement on both sides of combustor’s expansion section. The plasma swirler can enhance combustion stability through ionizing the air to produce active free radical and promoting the swirling air. In the experiments, the flame response to the plasma swirler was examined with OH distribution by planar laser induced fluorescence (PLIF). The experimental results showed that the flame reaction zone was broadened with the increase of the plasma exciting, and this demonstrated that the plasma swirler could be used to control diffusion flame.
