| 1 | pORF5 plasmid protein of Chlamydia trachomatis induces MAPK-mediated pro-inflammatory cytokines via TLR2 activation in THP-1 cells显示文摘Infection with Chlamydia trachomatis induces inflammatory pathologies in the urogenital tract that can lead to infertility and ectopic pregnancy.Pathogenesis of infection has been mostly attributed to excessive cytokine production.However,precise mechanisms on how C.trachomatis triggers this production,and which protein(s) stimulate inflammatory cytokines remains unknown.In the present study,the C.trachomatis pORF5 protein induced tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α),interleukin-1 beta(IL-1β) and interleukin-8(IL-8) in dose-and time-dependent manners in the THP-1 human monocyte cell line.We found that intracellular p38/mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK) and extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK)/MAPK signaling pathways were required for the induction of TNF-α,IL-1β and IL-8.Blockade of toll-like receptor 2(TLR2) signaling reduced induction levels of TNF-α,IL-8 and IL-1β.We concluded that the C.trachomatis pORF5 protein might contribute to the inflammatory processes associated with chlamydial infections. | ZHOU Hui HUANG QiuLin LI ZhongYu WU YiMou XIE XiaoBing MA KangKang CAO WenJuan ZHOU Zhou LU ChunXue ZHONG GuangMing | 2013 | Science China(Life Sciences)2013,56,5: | 26 |
| 2 | Effect of pitch angle on initial stage of a transport airplane ditching显示文摘Airworthiness regulations require that the transport airplane should be proved to ensure the survivability of the ditching for the passengers. The planned ditching of a transport airplane on the calm water is numerically simulated. The effect of pitch angle on the impact characteristics is especially investigated by a subscaled model. The Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations of unsteady compressible flow are solved and the realizable j-e equations are employed to model the turbulence. The transformation of the air-water interface is tracked by volume of fluid (VOF) model. The motion of the rigid body is modeled by dynamic mesh method. The initial ditching stage of the transport airplane is analyzed in detail. The numerical results show that as the pitching angle increases, the maximal normal force decreases and the pitching motion becomes much gentler. The aft fuselage would be sucked down by the water and lead to pitching up, whereas the low horizontal tail prevents this trend. | 3 | Long-term changes of phytoplankton community in Xiagu waters of Xiamen,China显示文摘Long-term changes of phytoplankton community by water sampling method in Xiagu Sea waters of Xiamen,China,were investigated in this study.Species composition of the phytoplankton community in these waters changed greatly since the 1950s.The numbers of Dinophyta species increased significantly,although Bacillariophyta species are generally dominant.The succession of dominant species in phytoplankton community is obvious: large-size dominant species such as Biddulphia sinensis of the 1950s were gradually replaced by small-size ones such as Cyclotella striata and Nitzschia closterium,and species that still maintain dominant such as Skeletonema costatum are also small ones,leading the whole phytoplankton community of smaller size.Cell density of phytoplankton community increased greatly,among which cell density of the most dominant species Skeletonema costatum have been increasing in exponent function.Margalef index of phytoplankton community decreased,indicating decline of biodiversity of the community,and dominant character of Skeletonema costatum increased.Generally,the structure of the entire phytoplankton community is becoming more and more singular and unstable,which makes the occurrence of red tides more frequent.The succession in the phytoplankton community is related to the long-term changes in marine environment,influenced by human activities and global climate changes,especially the increases of nutrient content. | CHEN Baohong XU Zhuhua ZHOU Qiulin CHEN Changping GAO Yahui YANG Shengyun JI Weidong | 2010 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2010,29,6: | 14 |

| 7 | Activity and hydrothermal stability of CeO_2–ZrO_2–WO_3 for the selective catalytic reduction of NO_x with NH_3显示文摘A series of CeO_2–ZrO_2–WO_3(CZW)catalysts prepared by a hydrothermal synthesis method showed excellent catalytic activity for selective catalytic reduction(SCR)of NO with NH_3 over a wide temperature of 150–550°C.The effect of hydrothermal treatment of CZW catalysts on SCR activity was investigated in the presence of 10% H_2O.The fresh catalyst showed above 90% NO_x conversion at 201–459°C,which is applicable to diesel exhaust NO_x purification(200–440°C).The SCR activity results indicated that hydrothermal aging decreased the SCR activity of CZW at low temperatures(below 300°C),while the activity was notably enhanced at high temperature(above 450°C).The aged CZW catalyst(hydrothermal aging at 700°C for 8 hr)showed almost 80% NO_x conversion at 229–550°C,while the V_2O_5–WO_3/TiO_2 catalyst presented above 80% NO_x conversion at 308–370°C.The effect of structural changes,acidity,and redox properties of CZW on the SCR activity was investigated.The results indicated that the excellent hydrothermal stability of CZW was mainly due to the CeO_2–ZrO_2 solid solution,amorphous WO_3 phase and optimal acidity.In addition,the formation of WO_3 clusters increased in size as the hydrothermal aging temperature increased,resulting in the collapse of structure,which could further affect the acidity and redox properties. | Zhongxian Song Ping Ning Qiulin Zhang Hao Li Jinhui Zhang Yancai Wang Xin Liu Zhenzhen Huang | 2016 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,4: | 7 |
| 8 | Catalytic methanol decomposition to carbon monoxide and hydrogen over Pd/CeO_2-ZrO_2-La_2O_3 with different Ce/Zr molar ratios显示文摘The catalytic behaviors of Pd (1.4 wt%) catalysts supported on CeO2-ZrO2-La2O3 mixed oxides with different Ce/Zr molar ratios were investigated for methanol decomposition. Nitrogen adsorption-desorption (BET), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), H2 temperature-programmed reduction (H2-TPR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Pd dispersion analysis were used for their characterization. Pd/Ce0.76Zr0.18 La0.06O1.97 catalyst showed the highest BET surface area, best Pd dispersion capability and strongest metal-support interaction. Moreover, XPS showed that there was lattice defect oxygen or mobile oxygen. According to the result of O 1s measurements the lattice defect oxygen or mobile oxygen helped to maintain Pd in a partly oxidized state and increased the activity for methanol decomposition. The Pd/Ce0.76Zr0.18La0.06O1.97 catalyst exhibited the best activity. | 10 | Localization and characterization of the hypothetical protein CT440 in Chlamydia trachomatis-infected cells显示文摘The inclusion membrane proteins play potentially important roles in chlamydial biology and pathogenesis.Here we localized and characterized the hypothetical protein CT440 in Chlamydia trachomatis-infected cells.The open reading frame(ORF) encoding the CT440 protein from the C.trachomatis serovar D genome was cloned into the prokaryotic expression vector pGEX-6p and expressed as a glutathione-S-transferase(GST) fusion protein in E.coli XL1-Blue.The CT440 fusion protein was used to immunize mice to raise antigen-specific antibody.After verification by Western blot and immunofluorescence assay(IFA),the specific antibody was used to localize the endogenous CT440 protein and to detect its expression pattern in Chlamydia-infected cells.Cytosolic expression of CT440 in HeLa cells was also carried out to evaluate the effect of the CT440 protein on the subsequent chlamydial infection.The results showed that the hypothetical protein CT440 was localized in the C.trachomatis inclusion membrane,and was detectable 12 h after chlamydial infection.Expression of CT440 in the cytoplasm did not inhibit the subsequent chlamydial infection.In summary,we have identified a new inclusion membrane protein that may be an important candidate for understanding C.trachomatis pathogenesis. | LI ZhongYu HUANG QiuLin SU ShengMei ZHOU Zhou CHEN ChaoQun ZHONG GuangMing WU YiMou | 2011 | Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,11: | 5 |

| 12 | Evolution of urban black and odorous water:The characteristics of microbial community and driving-factors显示文摘Urban black blooms that are primarily caused by organic carbon are deleterious environmental problems.However,detailed studies on the microbial characteristics that form urban black blooms are lacking.In this study,we observed the composition,diversity,and function of bacterial community in the overlying water and sediments during the occurrence and remediation of urban black blooms using high-throughput 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing analysis.First,we found that pivotal consortia in the overlying water increased significantly during the formation of black blooms,including the genera Acidovorax,Brevundimonas,Pusillimonas,and Burkholderiales involved in the degradation of refractory organics,as well as the genera Desulfovibrio,Dechloromonas,and Rhizobium related to the production of black and odorous substances.An RDA analysis revealed that chemical oxygen demand,dissolved oxygen,and oxidation reduction potential were related to the changes in microbial community composition.Furthermore,aeration was found to accelerate the removal of ammonia nitrogen and enhance the function of microbial community by stimulating the growth of order Planktomycetes during the remediation of black blooms,but aeration substantially damaged the microbial diversity and richness.Therefore,the health of the aquatic ecosystem should be comprehensively considered when aeration is applied to restore polluted waterbodies.Notably,we observed a large number of pathogenic bacteria in urban black blooms,which emphasizes the importance of treating domestic sewage so that it is harmless.Together,these findings provide new insights and a basis to prevent and manage urban black blooms. | Dan Zhang Huilan Yang Shuhuan Lan Chen Wang Xudong Li Yunxiao Xing Hua Yue Qiulin Li Ling Wang Yifei Xie | 2022 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,2: | 4 |

| 19 | The potential distribution of adult Antarctic krill in the Amundsen Sea显示文摘Antarctic krill is the key species of ecological system in the Amundsen Sea.At present,the suitable distribution is unobtainable by scientifi c surveys or data from the fi shery.In this paper,the maximum entropy algorithm(Maxent)was used to obtain the potential distribution of adult Antarctic krill in order to provide useful information and reasonable reference for the policy on protecting potential krill habitats around the Amundsen Sea.Occurrence points and 17 environmental variables were used to simulate the distributions.Results show that the high and moderate suitable habitats lie between 65°S and 72°S in the Amundsen Sea.The high suitable habitat accounts for 8.1%of the total area of the Amundsen Sea.The sea ice persistence(ICE),total phytoplankton(PHYC),and the minimum value of dissolved iron(Fe_min)are the three dominant contributors to the model.Results from the response curves show that Antarctic krill preferred habitats with ICE of 0.42-0.93,PHYC of 2.48-2.77 mmol/m^(3) and Fe_min of(7.10×10^(-5))-(9.45×10^(-5))mmol/m 3.Positive trends existed in the PHYC of the high and moderate suitable habitat,and a positive trend existed in the Fe_min of moderate suitable habitat.However,the probability of presence of Antarctic krill will decrease if the increase of the PHYC and Fe_min continues. | Jianlong FENG Lulu LIU Qiulin LIU Liang ZHAO | 2022 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,4: | 1 |
